The Definitive Guide To London's Best Cacio E Pepes - London - The Infatuation

"We like to smell—and feel—like a walking pepper grinder after eating cacio e pepe. But for some strange reason, not everybody does. If you’re after a cacio e pepe that’s more cacio than pepe, then Il Pampero is the one for you. This stylish, upmarket restaurant inside The Hari hotel has a distinct Sinatra, New York feel and more importantly, the cacio e pepe is served out of a giant wheel of pecorino romano. Just be sure to let them know that you want the full tableside cheese experience. We like to add more pepper to ours and it’ll set you back an eye-watering £21. But hey, welcome to Belgravia baby. " - Heidi Lauth Beasley

Il Pampero - Review - Belgravia - London - The Infatuation

"Welcome to Belgravia, baby. The table cloths are white, the prices are high, and the glamour is, well, glamorous. At least that’s what you’ll find at Il Pampero, an Italian bar and restaurant inside The Hari hotel. To get a good idea of the feel and food, we only need to tell you one thing–you can add black or white truffle to any of the pastas. Our go-to here is the cacio e pepe and although it isn’t a total knockout–we like to feel like a walking pepper grinder when we eat cacio e pepe–it’s worth it for the experience of eating it out of a giant wheel of pecorino romano and the rat-pack, high-roller look of the bar. Ask for one of the intimate little window booths if you’re heading here for date night and it’s worth knowing that it’s the perfect setting for a breakfast meeting over some eggs royale too." - Heidi Lauth Beasley

So, the service was impeccable, can’t fault it. It was very quiet for a Saturday night, which was kinda nice. The main takeaway is that the food, which was tasty, was incredibly overpriced for what it was. Not worth it at all. £250 for 4 mains, 2 starters and 2 glasses of wine. Extortionate, even by today’s standards.

I celebrated a friends birthday here and it was incredible!! The atmosphere is very relaxing and luxurious as well. The staff were incredibly nice, and hospitable, and the food served was delicious and was perfectly sized portions. Highly recommend for nights out with friends, colleagues, or family!!

Had dinner here on the 14th of March. First thing to note is that service started well and then fizzled out to non existent to the point we had to go up and ask for orders from the service base. Sparking water is overpriced at £7.20 Food was average- Tagliere Di saluki- selection of meats was ok. The meat selection was very average with some pickles vegetables and cracker bread. Tonno melanzane was overdone and therefore dry. Zucchini fritters were good. The primitivo Visconti wine was average , however well priced. Tiramisu was ok- was made from scratch in front of us. Lack adequate Marsala liquor. Crostatina al cioccolato again average so was the caprese al Limone. Service was a let down. Place was awfully quiet which made ambience a bit dead.

First but not last time! The service was amazing and Krystine, our waitress, was nice and professional ☺️ I ordered the stuffed artichokes (I finally found it !!) and my boyfriend picked the fresh tagliolini with the white ragout. As a starter, we opted out for a platter of cold cuts and cheese. High quality and very abundant portions. I highly recommend it 😉

Atmosphere, taste, service was really amazing. It was one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to. You feel so special. Definitely my recommendation. The hotel is also very nice!

Last Saturday's dinner with my friend was truly delightful. The cacio e Pepe pasta and lemon caprese cake were outstanding, bursting with flavor and leaving a lasting impression. The ambience was stunning, providing a comforting and homely atmosphere. While the service was friendly, there's potential for improvement in attentiveness. Nevertheless, it was a memorable evening with fantastic cuisine, earning a solid four-stars.

Thrilled to happen upon this gem… Beautiful Italian food, amazing quality ingredients and every course perfectly cooked. The portion sizes are more than ample, you will not go hungry! The 3 course set menu is an absolute bargain. Dario looked after us perfectly with natural and effortless charm and we loved the atmosphere. Cant wait to come back again :-))
