NYC’s New Restaurant Openings - New York - The Infatuation

"Fairfield County transplants, this one’s for you: Il Pellicano, a Connecticut Italian spot, has their first NYC location in Little Italy. You can eat pork chop scarpariello with an olive oil martini under the watchful eyes (and beaks) of several paintings of pelicans." - Will Hartman, Willa Moore

Me and my Dad came here after seeing the menu outside and at first we thought it was closed because there was not someone heckling us to eat there, we went up the stairs and welcomed ourselves in and was greeted by a nice person we were taken to our seats and they got right to it and asked us what we wanted to drink or have. I would suggest the olive oil flight.

The food and service are great, and the environment is cozy and welcoming. Music selection is excellent and helps to give an overall lounge vibe. We had appetizer, entré, and dessert, and will be back to try different ones.

Amazing spot! The staff was top notch from beginning to end. Food was all amazing and we especially enjoyed the burrata and the caprese to start. Wines by the glass were delicious and fairly priced. Can’t wait to go back and also to try their underground speakeasy!

The food here is delicious, fresh, and classic Italian. Brand new Little Italy Gem that’s offering a modern twist to classic Italian cuisine. Must try’s are the carbonara and bolognese!

A most delightful addition to Little Italy and a welcome departure from the usual "red sauce" and "checkerboard tablecloth" venues. This is how Italy eats today.

Yelp
This spot use to be pasta boss. And I came here almost every week. Came here to try and support new small business. The lights and chairs were changed. It created a more modern and upscale restaurant look. Compared to the older restaurants around. Was pleasantly surprised. The staff here is great and super friendly. They showed us the speakeasy bar in the basement. It has been a while since a place actually as a speakeasy opens at 10:30pm. The salad was good. Too much dressing for our liking. The shrimp entree was good. Very large fresh shrimps with a nice subtle flavor to it. The truffle entree was little light flavored for me. Not enough flavor coming out. The lamb lollipop was very good. Not too gaimy and the grits under it were seasoned well. The almond cake with ice cream was a good combination. The almond cake not too sweet blended with the ice cream gave it a nice flavor. I would definitely recommend here. We will be back to try other things on the menu and also check out the speakeasy too.
