These Are Denver’s Best Italian Restaurants | Eater Denver

"Super-sexy from the sinuous chandelier to the sleek bar to the oversized booths, Milanese-born chef Andrea Frizzi’s RiNo date-night haunt turns out equally seductive eats. Enhance the mood with the beef-tallow candle and bread service whenever available, then seal the deal over gorgeous pastas like Swiss chard–and–ricotta cannelloni with sous vide celery root and smoked mozzarella or pan-seared duck breast set atop risotto flavored with red wine, black garlic, and basil-whipped goat cheese." - Eater Staff

My partner and I stumbled upon this place while visiting the area, and so far, it has been the best place we've eaten for our anniversary trip (we had reservations at other places that didn't even come close to to being as good as this place). The staff was so friendly, almost familial, the ambiance was clean, fresh and hip, and most importantly, the food was on another level; I recommend the Ravioli Special if it's still on the menu. It's rare to walk out of a restaurant these days feeling so content AND eager to return.

Google
Il Posto was a place I had high expectations, but I left feeling a little underwhelmed. The service was fine, but the food was subpar. The best tasting food of the night was the spinach salad, very fresh and wonderfully dressed. The carne ravioli with mushroom sauce would have been the highlight. However, when it was brought to our table it was room temperature and honestly a tad cold. The pizza crust was super salty and the middle of the pie was completely mushy, it sort of fell apart. I’m always happy to try a new restaurant, but we probably won’t be back.

The hostess was kind and accommodated us for outdoor seating without reservation. The servers were nice and the food came surprisingly fast. We had ordered the special pizza for the day and orecchiette pasta. The pizza had leathery cheese and I couldn’t understand what warranted a 30$ price tag for a pizza that couldn’t compete with 4$ east coast pizza slices. The pasta had many clumps of shell stuck together. As a result the shells sandwiched in between were undercooked. Extremely underwhelming experience. I will not be visiting again.

Google
Wonderful neighborhood gem! Discovered this on a recent visit to San Diego. We arrived at 5:15 and the restaurant was already 1/3 full. Service was friendly and the food came out quickly. We ordered the Trio alla Italiana and Spinach salad as starters. They didn’t offer a kid’s menu which wasn’t a problem as you can easily customize your own pasta and my son ordered the penne with vodka sauce (not pictured) which he loved. Adults ordered the Salmone in Crosta di Pistacchio and the fish special which was a Branzino with shrimp in a lemon cream sauce. Both were excellent! We finished with an amazing Tiramisu. Ambiance is warm and cozy. Would highly recommend to others looking for a delicious Italian meal.

Google
Il Posto recently introduced a happy hour about a month ago - which we were super excited about! We recently went to enjoy the new happy hour specials and were quite disappointed overall by the experience. To begin, we sat at the bar and were served only regular dining menus - we had to specifically seek out the happy hour menu. Aside from that, when we received our bill it was full price.. we had to ask for the happy hour prices be applied, and it took 3 times of issuing the bill to get the pricing reflected correctly. The experience ultimately felt like we were trying to be steered away from the happy hour savings by the staff.

Google
They have great gluten free/vegan options with a nice environment and friendly customers and customer service. I didn’t feel out of place at all and was very welcomed even though i straight up looked like a homeless person. I was fasting for good fri and was starving so i was happy this was a close option for me :)

Google
The food was truly spectacular. You have to order the Daniels pizza and the risotto. It was an amazing experience. 100% recommended

Google
I write for food blogs and travel magazines and this is one of my favorite spots in san diego. I can’t believe it took me so long to come here. We sat at the bar and our server was Davide who is one of the harvest workers I’ve ever seen, and so pleasant while he slays behind the bar. Everything came out well timed, they were the perfect blend of attentive and giving you space. The food was excellent; the kind of standard Italian fare I would expect at a typical bistro anywhere in Italy. The perfect neighborhood spot; we will become regulars.

Yelp
My favorite Italian restaurant in South Park. They offer Neapolitan pizzas, which are delicious. Everything that I've had here has been delicious, but my favorites are the puttanesca and margarita pizza. The prices are very fair for the quality and portions, and the lunch menu is a great deal! The restaurant is beautifully decorated, with two indoor rooms and an outdoor patio to choose from.

Yelp
We went for a late lunch and the restaurant was empty. We got a nice table by the window and ordered cocktails. I noticed the menus were a little sticky which bothered me, but I think that that's what happens when you don't have any women working out front. Just my two cents. The restaurant is cute. Doesn't really remind me of Italy, but the decor is nice. We had the special pizza and the pesto pasta with chicken. We also enjoyed our Apperal spritz. The food came out hot and fresh, which was great and a few people started wandering in once we were served. Be aware that parking in South Park is at a premium like everywhere else in San Diego these days so if you have a reservation, give yourself an extra 20-30 minutes so you don't have to rush and can make your reservation on time. I was disappointed I didn't have a chance to say hello to Antonio the owner and chef as we were lucky to eat a lot of his food when he was at Piacera mio. All in all we enjoyed it, but it was expensive.

Yelp
The food here was pretty good. I did t care for the gnocchi but my dinner mates really liked it I liked the carbonara and the desserts also were pretty good. Celebrated a couple birthdays here and we weren't disappointed. Service was friendly and efficient.

Yelp
Made a reservation for two at 7:45pm, arrived 30 min earlier & was sat ahead of time. I ordered the Paccheri Pasta E Patate & it was delicious! Tasted like something I've never had before, very rich potato flavor & pasta cooked to perfection. Our server was very attentive & kind, she helped us pick the Panna Cotta Pistachio dessert towards the end of our meal. The indoor seating has very clean aesthetic, with large windows facing the street allowing a ton of natural light in. Overall, it was a great dining experience. I'll definitely need to come back to try their pizza soon!

Yelp
Linguini ai Fruiti de Mare Great service and beautiful ambiance! Staff was friendly and attentive. I got the linguini ai fruiti de mare, recommended by my waiter because I like seafood. We subbed the tomato sauce for white wine sauce, so not sure if that took away the desired flavor profile of the dish, but the pasta tasted a bit too boring for me. There wasn't any additional flavor to the pasta other than the seafood; however, the seafood was really really fresh and delicious! My friend got one of tbe specials -- a lobster ravioli. We were a bit disappointed that the dish came out cold but the sauce on the ravioli was yummy! Overall, not a bad spot for italian food. I would come back to try other dishes, as the service was amazing and you can really taste the freshness of their ingredients.

Yelp
Sooooo goood. Not only do they look good, they taste great too!! I love that I live a walking distance and am going to bring everyone here! Sitting outside in the summer sunset was an amazing experience as well.

Yelp
Finally tried this place for my birthday and loved it! It was easy to make a reservation and we were welcomed and sat right away. Service was great and attentive. The food was tasty and the restaurant had lovely warm lighting giving it a cozy feel. They also have a big back room with more seating. I really enjoyed the Pasta e Patate con Paccheri and the Diavola pizza! They surprised me with a birthday Pistachio Espresso Panna Cotta which was divine. They have many vegan options too which was nice to see. I can't wait to come here again.

Yelp
Once again, and every time, Il Posto is the best Italian, or Neapolitana style ristorante in San Diego county hands down! Their pizza is perfection. The dough is tossed and their toppings are simple and executed with finesse. Their fresh pastas are so memorable, you will find yourself ordering just one more and then another, Vermentino because you won't want to leave this beautiful and cozy trattoria in the centre of South Park. The Paccheri con le calamarelle, and seafood is incredibile! They are more than generous with the ample portions here. The owner, Fabio knows his food, his customers and obviously, hospitality. Il Posto has a simple eleganza. There is a caring craft to each dish that is created and delivered to you. Good food? no, Amazing Food! I honestly cannot wait to dine here again. Ciao vediamo domani!

Yelp
I regret not going to Il Posto sooner! I'm not too into the concept of "create your own pasta" as I much prefer choosing an already curated pasta creation from a restaurant. If I recall initially when they first opened, their pasta options were only "custom" but now they have some pre-curated options. We had reservations and they sat us immediately. I didn't realize how big the restaurant was because from the outside you only see one section of the space, but we were seated in an entirely different area which effectively doubled their dining space. Not that it should matter, but our waitress had a very personable and heavy Italian accent which adds to this place feeling very homey and authentic. We started with some focaccia which was nicely seasoned and very tasty. We also got the margherita pizza to share for the table. The pizza had a great flavor and the crust was slightly crispy but more on the soft-side. Particularly the main areas of the pizza were more "droopy" where it doesn't hold its structure. My main was the Orecchiette Salsicca e Friarielli which was fantastic! The sausage nicely flavored and the pasta was nicely cooked. The saucy was a little creamy and very addicting. This is definitely a homerun of a pasta dish! Overall our dinner was amazing and would be excited to return to try some more dishes!

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night with reservation. The restaurant was packed. Atmosphere at the time was lively and busy. Service was very friendly, and the waiter was attentive and gave helpful recommendations. Appetizers: Arugula salad - nice and fresh, right amount of dressing, plenty of olives Calamari plate - the zucchini was especially delicious, and it was a nice change to also have shrimp (which tasted quite fresh!) but everything could have been crispier, as the outside was almost a little soggy Entrees: Risotto special - quite a large portion of risotto with mushrooms and tons of flavorful sun dried tomatoes, topped with some saucy rib meat that mixes together with the flavors of the risotto and some blue cheese. The meat could have been more tender, and the risotto was almost a little too al dente (very separate, firm, whole grains). Overall, the flavor was nice, but the whole dish was a little salty. Price was not stated on the menu, which is a little off putting as well. Vongole pasta (not pictured) - A bit over-salted. Everyone at our table who tried it, with our varying palates, thought it was too salty to be enjoyable. Lemon chicken - Came with a nice variety of veggies Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience, but the food left something to be desired with 2/3 dishes being overly salty and other minor spots for improvement mentioned.

Yelp
Service is first class and food is amazing! Antonio the master chef prepared some phenomenal meals such as Pasta ala siciliano with egg plant and sausage , zucchini flowers stuffed with a secret Sicilian recipe mix of herbs and cheese , and several personal pizzas in which the dough was heavenly ! My party then followed up with several craft deserts painstakingly made to perfection ! I give this place 10 stars !

Yelp
Solid Italian restaurant! I really appreciated the vegetarian and vegan options, there was a lot of variety. We were seated in the back portion of the restaurant, the tables were crammed in there but it helped create a lively atmosphere. They gave us a tiramisu type dessert for my sister's birthday - thank you! We had a great time.

Yelp
Had available reservations on a Saturday. We were surprised since there was a wait to get in. The restaurant isn't the biggest. The waiters are very friendly. I started with the house Focaccia. It was fine, but needed more EVOO. I decided to get the Vegan Pesto with penne pasta and it was surprisingly as good as regular pesto tastes. The restaurant doesn't have a full bar; they only serve beer and wine.

S T.

Yelp
They have a big Vegan menu and the food was amazing! So clean, tasty, fresh, and real Italian food. The staff was really nice with good recommendations. Great place for vegans and non-veg people.

Yelp
Il Posto is a gem of an Italian taverna in South Park and my 1600th review. We've been here for lunch several times, by ourselves or with friends. The service each time has been great. Our favorite Antipasto is the Mare Kiaro (5/5 $16.95) -- calimari, shrimp, mussels, and octopus marinated in lime juice, served with grilled zucchini, eggplant and peppers over arugula. We love the pizza here, which remind us of the finest pizzas we've enjoyed in Napoli and Roma. One we really like is the Pizza Norma (5/5 $13.95), an individual-size pizza with San Morzano tomatoes, eggplant, mozzarella, and ricotta. The Make Your Own Pasta is fun. You select a pasta, sauce and topping. One of the combinations we tried is the Tagliiatelle Bolognaise (4/5 $13.95). There's a limited selection of wines and beers. I'm glad it includes Peroni, which goes very well with the pizza. The dining room and bar are bright and airy with windows on two sides facing the cross streets. Street parking only, but I haven't had a problem finding a space within a block at midday. Evenings may be a different story.

Yelp
Everything was delicious. We all got something different to try and it was all so yummy. The flavor was rich. Not overbearing with herbs. The service was amazing too! They were fast and friendly. Love the area too. Just was hard to find parking but that's anywhere now.

Yelp
3 of us had a fritta calzone and lemon chicken, 1 cocktail 1 soda, appetizer and focaccia bread. They do charge for bread. For dessert we had cannolis. They were small The aperol spritz was perfect. All of the food was excellent with decent portions. IMO the prices are a bit high. 180.00 including tip. I really liked the guys that were serving. I'll try again.
google avatar

Randall B.

Yelp
Overall a nice night and good food. The censar salad was just ok. Really small for the price and not much flavor. Spinach salad was good. The pizza tasted like pizza from Italy and was tasty. The cippino was great. Tiramisu was good but had (we think) chocolate chips or something in it that made it a bit crunchy but it was good. The crème brûlée was way to eggy and custardy and the sugar on top was hardly torched. Would not recommend this Service was great and atmos was nice. The hard wooden chairs need a pillow or something. Not comfortable at all.

Yelp
Il Posto is pretty new to the neighborhood that already has some good Italian restaurants so the bar was already high and unfortunately it didn't really meet it. The ambiance is nice and the servers were nice as well but the food was kinda on the salty side for me and wasn't anything to rave about especially for the price. I might've just gone on a bad day so maybe I'll try it again. But it was underwhelming :/

Yelp
Visited on 2/14/25. Saw this place had raving reviews and was able to get a reservation for Valentine's Day. Overall was underwhelming. Food: - Fritto Misto was over fried and zucchini was soggy. - Carpaccio had a delicious lemon dressing. That dressing was the best tasting thing of this meal. - Pizza Diavola was salty and soggy. Very disappointed with this, especially with the amount of pizzas that were being served. We assumed it would be really good from reviews. Not the case. - Linguine alla vongole was fine. A bit salty but happy to report no gritty sand so the clams were cleaned well! - Espresso......burnt tasting. - Tiramisu had chocolate chips in it....why? It would have been good without! Service: Service was not too bad, considering it was a packed restaurant. Waters were refilled promptly. We did have a bit of a wait for our tiramisu. Ambiance: Really enjoyed the cafe style of different well known songs. Tables were packed close together but it was expected for a busy night. Glad we got to try it but meh. Won't be a repeat. Very curious about all the 5 star reviews though.

Yelp
First time here and the service was very good. I had the appetizer trio and it was a miss. Everything tasted the same to me? The squash blossom was particularly disappointing. Marina dipping sauce was delicious though. Why four stars though? Cuz the pizza was AMAZING. My husband and I shared the the Bufalina pizza and it was perfect. The crust was delicious l, cooked perfectly. The tomatoes cheese and basil were fresh and flavorful and came together perfectly. We also had the focaccia and decked it easily! They definitely know how to do dough here. Next time I'll try a pasta or another starter instead of the appetizer trio, but I will definitely be back because the pizza was worth it alone!
google avatar

Yelp
Il Posto is located in the old Eclipse chocolate shop. The reviews here are great, but I found the food to just be okay. The atmosphere is very cute and they've designed the space really nicely with both inside and outside dining options. Even inside, it feels very al fresco with all the large open windows. We ordered the appetizer trio, caesar salad, frito misto, potato pasta, orecchiette pasta and pistachio pizza. The food was good, but nothing really stood out. I prefer the food at Piacere Mio better. I was impressed with the pricing here. The prices were very reasonable, especially for the wine. You could get a bottle of red for under $30, which is unheard of these days. Service was attentive at the beginning, but slowed down towards the end of our meal.
google avatar

Shannon B.

Yelp
Hands down some of the best pasta I've had. Their vodka sauce is to die for. The restaurant is cute and the staff is great.
google avatar

Joseph B.

Yelp
A charming spot in South Park! The service was great, and the pizza was absolutely amazing--perfectly balanced flavors with a delicious crust that had just the right amount of char. I also loved how fresh the basil tasted. The pasta, while beautifully presented, was a bit bland and could have used more flavor. That said, I'd definitely come back for the pizza alone--it was that good!
google avatar

Giovanni P.

Yelp
Definitely would back for the pizza but as far the pasta went I wasn't really impressed. The presentation of the dish felt like they were trying really hard to make it look fancy. But pasta is pasta and I believe it should like is exactly like it.
google avatar

Justine H.

Yelp
The newest addition to South Park, I was hesitant to try as it was yet another Italian restaurant and very simple decor. The menu offers a lot of specials and build your own pasta but each additional ingredient is at least $2 which really increases the price of your meal, even if it's just a vegetable. I did really enjoy the buratta and fresh bread, as well as my pasta but again I'm not sure if the prices are worth the cost.
google avatar

Sasa P.

Yelp
Overall this was a nice place to eat! You can tell off the bat that they are authentic, as Italian is being spoken left and right. We wished we had tried the pizza because it looked fantastic with perfect crust. My partner got the Caesar Salad, Bolognese, and a red wine. She said the Caesar was delicious and flavorful. The pasta was also great though the porcini mushrooms on top were a bit sandy. The waiter was very friendly, and generally the ambience was romantic enough to feel like a special evening without requiring you to dress up. I only wish they could keep the door to the street closed, because it was so chilly!
google avatar

Megan F.

Yelp
I was brought here by a friend who I trust for good eats and it did not disappoint. We're talking handmade pasta and regional Italian wines, massive portions, wonderful staff and a menu I could spend a month going through and hopefully someday can. You can sit at the bar or a table and the feeling is of being with friends for a casual lovey evening. I brought my Dad who adores Italian food and is picky and this is now his fave spot. It's always fresh, folks are nice and it's great food you can enjoy for lunch the next day if you can resist.

Yelp
I made the reservation via Yelp as it is simple and fast. I came here with my family to celebrate birthday festive with couple of people. The ambiance is very amazing. The waiter and the chef were very friendly. This place is perfect for the vegetarian and Vegan guests! The food was absolutely delicious. It was very authentic! Ordered: 1 - Make your own pasta - Tagliatelle Pasta with Vodka sauce (Marinara sauce and cream, oregano, basil and pepper). Added bell peppers and shrimps. This dish was cooked to perfection, and it was so delicious. 2 - Make your own pasta - Tagliatelle Pasta with Alfredo sauce (Cream, butter, parmigiano, pepper and parsley). This dish was super delicious. The authentic way! 3. Lobster Ravioli - Salted with Shrimp, finished in Lobster cream sauce topped with arucola and shaved parmigiano. 4. Focaccia (Evo Oil, Rosemary, Oregano & Pepper) We loved the freshly baked bread. It was so good. This dish was kind of salty and the only way to make it neutral is by eating each bite with arucola greens. The cream sauce was perfectly fine with the lobster pasta. If you are in the San Diego area and near South Park, this is a definitely the place you will want to dine at. Plan to come early as there is only street residential parking.

Yelp
Visiting a friend and he recommended this place. Thank goodness we listened. We walked to this cute restaurant. Before we went, we did a quick reservation via YELP. My BFF and I got there early and they took us in immediately. Service was immediately and we decided to family style. We got a pizza cotto e funghi as an appetizer and loved that it was thin sliced. The burrata e prosciutto was tasty. We also split Insalata della casa, linguini de fruti de mare and Pollo al Marsala. I loved the flavor combo of the salad. It was perfectly dressed. The pasta was perfectly cooked to me and great al dente. The seafood combo with the sauce was tasty. The chicken was juicy with a very well seasoned sauce. We definitely needed to cap off the night with dessert. We celebrated my BFFs birthday with the Panna cotta pistachio! Definitely a place to come back to enjoy the ambiance and food!!

Yelp
"It better be worth the wait", is what I told my daughter as we were waiting for our order. As soon as our came I knew it just had to be good and I was not wrong. From our calamari, that was perfectly cooked, not at all chewy and hard Then our two seafood dishes, very good. Tie noodles were cooked perfect and also the sauce of both dishes were very well done. Truly, compliments to the chef. This place was recommended and I truly recommend this to those that like Italian cuisine.

Yelp
Visited this spot first night in San Diego, my girlfriend and I were seated right away on a Monday night. The ambience gives a modern vibe with chill and slow r&b/classy music. Our server checked in with us multiple times while another server made sure our cups were never empty or close to empty. Customer service A+. When I read the other reviews I expected the food to live up to the hype of the reviews people left, and the food did not disappoint one bit. Authentic Italian food is the perfect way to describe the food. The diavola pizza was spicy, cheese and tomato sauce was cooked perfect, crust and border was light and crisp, salame was tasteful, 10/10. For the calamari and shrimp, they were fried lightly and rated fresh. I would say the marinara different from most places, I don't really know how to describe it but I would prefer other marinaras at other Italian restaurants. For the penne cremosa, I enjoyed the penne pasta itself as it was not too flimsy or soft, instead the penne noodles were a little more rough. The white cream sauce was not over cooked, not too creamy, just right. However, there is a lot of mushroom in the dish so if you are not big on mushroom it will be a bit overwhelming lol. Not pictured which my girlfriend ordered was the tagliatelle with arrabbiata sauce. I'm not a big red sauce guy, but tasting her pasta I would order that myself. It had a little kick of spice in it and the flavor and seasoning in the sauce was just so appetizing. I would 100% come back to this restaurant and I 100% recommend this restaurant to any new comers and visitors like myself. They definitely deserve 5 stars for not only their authentic food but exceptional customer service.

Yelp
Currently my favorite Italian Restaurant in San Diego. I came 3 times during lunch which is a few bucks cheaper than dinner, no reservations are needed, and street parking is always readily available. For starters I've had the following Trio Alla Italiana - A trio of fried appetizers. Arancini - fried rice ball) Crocche - potato croquette Fiore di zucca - Zucchini blossom They are all fried to perfection and very crispy and light. A great appetizer Frittatina - A cheesy bucatini pasta ball fried crispy. If you like Alfredo pasta I think you'd like this one. It was not my favorite, im not a fan of Alfredo sauce. Eggplant Parmiggiana - Baked eggplant stuffed with mozzarella and parmigiano topped with tomato sauce and burrata cheese. Very tender and flavorful. Its basically a vegetarian lasagna. Polpo e patate - Potato and octopus topped with lemon juice and olive oil. A bit too acidic for me. It was a delicious dish but the lemon juice was a little aggressive for me but it was perfect when I got a piece of olive which helped cut thru the acidity. Pasta - Choose your noodle, sauce and topping if you want. Taglitelle noodles with Cremosa sauce (brandy cream sauce, sautéed mushrooms, olive oil, parsley, pepper and oregano) with a meatball. The cremosa sauce is amazing and the wide noodles soak them up nicely, I haven't seen Cremosa sauce anywhere else. It sounded good and was an excellent choice the meatball also went well with the mushrooms that come in the Cremosa sauce too. Cappelinni noodles with Aglio e olio sauce, topped with shrimp. Cappelinni noodles were thinner than spaghetti but thicker than angel hair. The thin noodles allowed more surface area to soak up the Aglio e olio sauce, A very simple sauce of Olive oil, garlic, parsley chili pepper and oregano. Its one of those dishes that are super easy to make but very difficult to make very well. This version was amazing! It smelled of roasted garlic and went well with shrimp which was perfectly cooled. I highly recommend the pasta dishes here, both sauces were out of this world. Lunch/Happy Hour is a few dollars cheaper but also you can get in with out a reservation which can be difficult at dinner since the restaurant is rather small. Service was friendly and inviting. They have a good Vegan menu both pizza and pasta dishes. Id guess parking could be an issue during the evening since its all on the street. I had no problem finding parking during lunch hours. Lunch/Happy Hour 11-3 They also have dessert cannoli, pana cotta and tiramisu. The tiramisu was amazing, not the wet soggy lady fingers that you usually get. I'll defiantly be coming back to try more of their amazing pasta maybe a panini for lunch or one of their main (secondi) dishes next time.

Yelp
Just when I thought that there were enough great Italian restaurants in SD, I now have to add IL Posto to that list! I've come on two occasions, both lunch and dinner. They have a HH menu on weekdays (11:45am-3pm) and portions are much smaller than anticipated but was portioned fairly. Vice versa, dinner prices raise but the portions also match. For lunch we shared a pepperoni pizza, lobster ravioli, a Panuozzo Caprese, and I built my own pasta bowl with pacherri pasta with vodka sauce with added mushrooms. The panuozzo caprese was fresh and full of mozzarella. You must get their pastas and pizza! They have the best pizza dough and use it for their calzones as well. What we ordered during dinner time was the calamari, Ripeno Classico Calzoni, and the Pasta e Patate con Paccheri. The calamari had a light breading and was served with marinara dip and a lemon wedge. The calzone was not salty at all, it was quite simple but not too heavy despite the size. The paccheri was a creamy sauce and had cubed potatoes and a lot of sausage. The deals are great for lunch and the quality is authentic and I felt like I was eating clean ingredients. I truly enjoyed the food here and the service as well. This is among my new favorites in South Park, and I have a feeling they will gain more attraction and popularity as they settle in.

Yelp
Food wasn't bad, good pizza. I however asked for lemon on the side of my pesto pasta and the waitress gave me a plate of limes saying, "we only have limes", and the table behind me had lemons in their water and while walking out, we saw an abundance of lemons on the counter. Not really sure if I maybe pissed off the waitress because we were confused on how to order, I had no ill intent. I was a little embarrassed.

Yelp
Really really good! We came here tonight and got a make your own pasta and one of the pizzas. Both were super good and fresh. The vodka sauce for the pasta was REALLY flavorful. We added the 1/2 burrata and it was definately worth it. We will be back!

Yelp
10 stars. A better dining experience is hard to imagine. From the greeting and seating to the departure with half my entree as leftovers, dining at Il Posto was sublime. Although the restaurant was full, every table occupied, my husband and I could easily carry on a conversation. Every member of the staff is in constant motion --- attentive, professional and genuinely aim to please. The restaurant has a comfortable feel. No snobby service here, just people proud to represent the place. The food was superb. Each dish was a literal work of art visually and taste-wise. Best bruschetta that has ever passed my lips. Piled high with grape tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and prosciutto, lovely olive oil. We ordered the arugula salad to share. Another beautiful dish. Slightly overdressed but I wondered if that was just the way it is prepared. Didn't bother me at all, cleaned my plate. Check out my pictures. I had to order the classic carbonara because it was prepared the right Italian way: egg yolks, pancetta, black pepper, Parmigiana and pecorino and al dente (chef's kiss). No cream!!! Yasssss!!! Perfection in a bowl with tons of pancetta tiny cubes throughout. I had entire forkfuls. Hubs had to have the spaghetti Bolognese with sausage added, wow. Such a rich, flavorful sauce with lots of Wagyu beef and chunks of sausage to the side. Like everything else we ordered, the exact right proportions of ingredients. Nothing overpowered anything else. Everything played together like a symphony. For dessert, I had the panna cotta at the recommendation of our server. A good portion, very dense and creamy with a thick topping of melted chocolate. Note: I didn't say sauce because this reminded me of drinking chocolate. I had to force myself to eat slowly. My husband chose the spumoni. Huge scoop divided in halves in chocolate shells. Ice cream was artfully arranged with larger portions of the cherry and chocolate and a thinner layer of pistachio. What? Even the ice cream! No details missed here. I could go on and on. The final lovely touch was our server was really busy. I stopped a person I thought was the owner or manager. His immediate reaction was "How can I help?" As soon as I requested the check, he immediately hopped to the register, grabbed the nearest server and asked him to get it going for us. Meanwhile, our server came by and he presented it. After we paid, the owner/manager himself delivered the receipt and thanked us for coming. The total bill was $116. We were flabbergasted, honestly. One of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had worldwide.

Yelp
Had lunch here on a lazy Saturday, and had a wonderful time! Expect South Park parking. Their lunch menus are called "Happy Hour" menus, and had excellent portions/ prices. Lunch for 4 was around $15/ person. Outstanding: - Happy Hour Make your own pasta: Cremosa with Orrechiette (5/5): This was absolutely amazing, and would definitely get it on return. Pasta was cooked al dente, and even though it was a cream based pasta, it wasn't overly creamy at all. Protein may be added for additional cost, but it was wonderful and well balanced with just mushroom. - Davide was our waiter, and the only person running the floor for that matter. Excellent/ friendly service and coverage. - Interior decor. Honorable mentions: - House salad (5/5) - Caesar salad (5/5): It was 6 whole pieces of romaine lettuce, but well plated and seasoned. - Arrabiata with Paccheri (chicken on the side) (4/5): This was great! Really enjoyed the Paccheri. - Pepperoni pizza (5/5) Will be back!

Yelp
We went on Valentine's Day while they had their holiday menu. The place was packed and we were seated in a back area. It was quite busy and overwhelming but the service was excellent! The staff was very on top of things and making sure we were well taken care of. I ordered the Paccheri Cremosa and the flavors were delicious. It was slightly undercooked for my liking but still great. We also ordered the Diavola pizza which was okay. Always a great location to be in South Park. I personally thought the food was good, not great, but my partner loved it so it's mainly personal preference.

Yelp
This is some of the best Italian food I've ever had. I ordered focaccia bread and the potato cream pasta - omg, so unique and delicious. My friend ordered pasta with alfredo sauce - her and I both agreed that it was the best alfredo sauce we've ever tasted. I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
5 stars across the board! Our server was Mauro and he was amazing the whole time. He gave honest recommendations for our large party and accommodated anything we needed. Food menu was full and everyone found something to enjoy. We ordered all deserts and enjoyed everything. Nice and clean location with plenty of seating. Highly recommended!!

Yelp
Il Posto is an Italian restaurant that recently opened in South Park area of San Diego about a month ago. According to their website, they are focused on fine Italian dining. Their website notes that Il Posto is brought by three Italian natives (Maurizio Carbone, Fabio Montagna and Antonio Pappagallo). Il Posto bringing about new authentic Italian dishes, a modern ambiance, and a fun atmosphere for families and friends to enjoy, while remaining firm in their mission: to provide a dining experience filled with love and passion. My boyfriend, his daughter, and I went on a Saturday night. Since we didn't have a reservation, they still did seat us but outside on the patio with heaters. No issues with us! We tried: - Margherita Pizza (Neapolitan Style) - Risotto Special with Halibut - Spaghetti with Meatballs - Make Your Own Pasta (w. Mushroom / Funghi Sauce) - Tiramisu - Coffee Panda Cotta (w. Pistachio) - Chianti (DOCG) Everything was delicious! Foodgasm! Portions were large, so my boyfriend's daughter and I ended up taking at least half of our pastas home. Service was excellent. Ambiance was classy. Food was delicious! Definitely worth the money. ENJOY!!

Yelp
I cannot gush about this place enough. Located in South Park, this may very well be my new favorite Italian restaurant in San Diego. This place does get busy so I would recommend making a reservation. The inside is actually quite large, and it is decorated beautifully. Service was prompt and very friendly. Highly recommend their Fruitti Di Mare and Salmon! Will definitely be back. This restaurant can count on it.
