North County Italian Spot Opens Offshoot in South Park | Eater San Diego

"Opening in the former Fern Street home of Eclipse Chocolate, Il Posto is the second venture from the trio behind Maurizio’s Trattoria Italiana—Maurizio Carbone and lifelong friends from Naples, Fabio Montagna and Antonio Pappagallo. Their aim is to offer affordable handmade pasta and wood-fired pizza, aided by pizzaiolo Alfredo Pappalardo, a decorated pizza chef who earned an award for best traditional Napoletano pizza at the International Pizza Expo. A grand opening is scheduled for Friday, December 15, with giveaways including complimentary bites and desserts; the restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner. The menu ranges from antipasti like mortadella and burrata with pistachio cream and Roman-style roasted artichokes to larger dishes such as cioppino and chicken marsala. Pizza offerings include a classic Margherita and a white pizza riff on spaghetti alla Nerano featuring zucchini cream, a mix of cheeses, pancetta, crispy zucchini, and basil, and the pasta program includes an extensive list of shapes, sauces, and toppings for build-your-own plates; both pizza and pasta are available in gluten-free and vegan options." - Candice Woo

These Are Denver’s Best Italian Restaurants | Eater Denver

"Super-sexy from the sinuous chandelier to the sleek bar to the oversized booths, Milanese-born chef Andrea Frizzi’s RiNo date-night haunt turns out equally seductive eats. Enhance the mood with the beef-tallow candle and bread service whenever available, then seal the deal over gorgeous pastas like Swiss chard–and–ricotta cannelloni with sous vide celery root and smoked mozzarella or pan-seared duck breast set atop risotto flavored with red wine, black garlic, and basil-whipped goat cheese." - Eater Staff

Had a lovely work lunch here with the team during our Dan Diego visit. Friendly and helpful staff, nice setting with a very cute back room. Good food and nice cocktails.

This is a hidden gem in the north park area. My Italian friend recommended this place and I was not let down. Both the Burrata Cheese Ravioli and the Norma pizza were amazing! And the taste was something that I never tried before. Its a bit difficult to find parking, I parked in a nearby retail center and walked over to the restaurant.

My family and I dined at Il Posto for the second time, and it was just as phenomenal as we remembered! The food was outstanding— we savored every bite of the pillowy gnocchi, perfectly balanced margarita pizza, hearty calzone, and creamy chicken Alfredo. Our server was incredibly polite and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. Il Posto never disappoints, and we can’t wait to return!

Google
Wow… this place was amazing! Honestly, the best Italian food we’ve ever had. We went on a Sunday around 3 pm and lucked out with happy hour. We shared the Trio alla Italiana, creamy Alfredo pasta, house wine, and the most incredible espresso martini (it even comes with a cute little sweet treat on top!). The staff was so kind and welcoming it felt like we were eating in a friend’s home.

Google
Went for Restaurant Week and left pretty underwhelmed. Appetizers: -Calamari – easily the best thing we had -Focaccia – don’t bother. It’s not focaccia at all, more like a dry, crispy flatbread. Main Course: -Salmon pasta – the sauce was great Dessert: Tiramisu – disappointing, mostly mousse and cocoa powder with little substance. Pizza: Friariello – bland and bitter. SERVICE** Our server (an older lady with short hair and glasses) was extremely nonchalant, unhelpful, and passive. She didn’t even offer basics like cheese or pepper flakes for the pizza. The restaurant itself was clean, and the host who seated us was very pleasant. Unfortunately, the food and especially the service don’t justify a return visit. I won’t be coming back.

Google
What a great Italian Restaurant in South Park! We had the Caesar salad with exceptional dressing, a very tasty Pepperoni Pizza, and Lobster Ravioli. All were very nice presentations and delivered with great service.

Google
Il Posto was a place I had high expectations, but I left feeling a little underwhelmed. The service was fine, but the food was subpar. The best tasting food of the night was the spinach salad, very fresh and wonderfully dressed. The carne ravioli with mushroom sauce would have been the highlight. However, when it was brought to our table it was room temperature and honestly a tad cold. The pizza crust was super salty and the middle of the pie was completely mushy, it sort of fell apart. I’m always happy to try a new restaurant, but we probably won’t be back.

Google
Went to II Posto today for thanksgiving dinner and I have to say we were throughly impressed with the food and service we ordered two vegan pastas and lobster ravioli. All were delicious:) Davide was our waiter and he was pleasant and efficient. The atmosphere was very nice. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Had a reservation at 6pm on a Saturday, and we were sat instantly! Service and quick and friendly. The restaurant has a cozy cute vibe! The tables felt a little crowded in the back area, but we still felt we had some privacy within our group. We got some of the focaccia bread, and it was toasted perfectly! We ordered some marinara to dip as well. Great starter combo! We also got a pizza and a BYO pasta! I got fusilli, vegan pesto, add chicken, and it was perfect!! Everyone was satisfied with what they got :) Everything was reasonably priced! Between 4 adults, we got a few cocktails each, 2 pizzas, 2 pastas, and a dessert. Roughly around $200! Good price for good vibes :) Will be coming back!

Yelp
We checked out this place for restaurant week and it was great! We got to try some of everything! Favorites were the calamari and pasta! Lots of food and service was great! Bummed they were out of tiramisu that night

Yelp
Had a great time at Il Posto during Restaurant Week. Good food, great chill vibes, and friendly service. Why the low rating you may ask? It's simple. You sign your bill with a HANDWRITTEN tip, only to be charged 18% top without your approval/consent. Shady, very shady. Now, I'm not going to refute it because it's basically under a $5 difference. However, will I be returning or recommending this spot? Never. Go to another Italian spot and don't get ripped off. I suggest Roman Wolves.

Yelp
If I could nominate a restaurant for Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, this would be it. My fiancé and I were really looking forward to trying this spot for San Diego Restaurant Week after reading so many positive reviews, but the service was so bad we almost walked out before dessert. Our reservation was for the patio, but the table wasn't ready--we waited about 20 minutes to be seated, and even then, no menus were given. Another 10 minutes went by before we finally received them, and strangely, they weren't even the Restaurant Week menus. From the start, it felt chaotic: multiple servers brought us other tables' food, no one refilled our waters, and the wait between each course was painfully long. By the time dessert rolled around, we just asked for it to-go. Even getting the check was a struggle--I had to go inside to flag someone down, and it still took 20 minutes before anyone came by. In the end, we spent nearly 2.5 hours there for just two courses (and we weren't even drinking alcoholic beverages). The food itself was good, but definitely not worth the stress and wasted time. Sadly, this was one of the most frustrating dining experiences we've had in San Diego.

Yelp
Tried this place during restaurant week and it did not disappoint. The servings were huge and the food is really flavorful. It's a really cute interior space as well and the servers were really nice. Would highly recommend it for a cute date night in South Park.

Yelp
I might have a new favorite Italian restaurant in town. I stumbled upon this play via an online ad, and I am so glad I decided to give it a try. Food & Drinks: The Mortadella Burrata was new to me and it grew on me quickly, also liked their Bruschetta. I absolutely loved my pasta(Paccheri in Cremosa sauce with sausage and zucchini). Also liked their Aglio e olio spaghetti, which a friend got. Their "make your own pasta" option, available in both vegan and non-vegan varieties, is extensive, allowing you to create whatever your heart desires. They have a good selection of wine, but I was disappointed with the significant upcharge. I know all restaurants upcharge, but for wine I've had before, it felt too expensive. Their espresso martini is very popular, but I found it only alright. The star of the table has to be the Tiramisu - huge layers of very soft and light mascarpon,e and the right amount of coffee made it one of my favs in town. Service: Some of the waitstaff seemed confused and clueless. We asked the guy who sat us down for the Restaurant week menu(which was posted at the door), but he didn't know what we were talking about. He also went to "Find out more" but never returned. We were famished, so we decided to go with the main menu. Our server was a sweet lady who helped us with a lot of recs and even made us our espresso martini after closing time. Ambiance: This is a small, cozy, and cute place with just enough seating to avoid overcrowding. I loved their decor and design too. In-all: I will definitely come back here to try their pizzas. Overall, a big thumbs up from me.

Yelp
This spot has one of the best Italian food in San Diego! We came here in April of 2024 and started with a bottle of Moscato d'asti and a couple glasses of Aperol Spritz. For apps, we shared the carpaccio di Manzo and bruschetta campaña. Both dishes were delicious and nicely presented. Next, we had the spaghetti carbonara, cioppino, and pizza diavola. Everything was fantastic! They even out the spaghetti in a bread bowl for me, even thought they weren't doing that anymore. We saved room for the panna cotta Nutella and affogato! The panna cotta wasn't too sweet and affogato came with chocolate Pocky sticks. Still reminiscing about this visit after all this time. I will come back when I'm craving for authentic Italian food!

Yelp
Great food, friendly service and good intimate atmosphere. This was my second time here and everything was really delicious!

Yelp
We came here for restaurant week 9/25. We got the fritto misto gamberi e calamari, spaghetti con polpette, and tiramisu. And the saffron risotto of the day topped with 8oz rib eye tagliata style as an extra entree. Overall the food was good. The calamari was my favorite. The risotto was interesting. It was very dry, but still had some good flavor. The rib eye pieces on top were well done. The spaghetti came with two huge meatballs. It had more of a meatloaf texture than a traditional meat texture. Saw a lot of items I want to try the next time I come. Service was good. Street parking. Plenty of tables. Had seating outside.

Yelp
Delicious experience! Great service! Dined here with a group of 10 for a birthday celebration. We ordered several appetizers to share. All were delicious and fresh: burrata and prosciutto, caprese, calamari, and flatbread. Several of the group shared dishes. I ordered the carbonara. It was a good portion that I could take left overs home, another friend ordered the bolognese, also delicious and another friend did a build your own pasta. We shared several bottles of the rose, some ordered cocktails. It was a great experience. Giuseppe was our server. He was patient, welcoming, and attentive. I would definitely return and recommend this restaurant to others looking for a good Italian experience.

Yelp
Made a reservation for two at 7:45pm, arrived 30 min earlier & was sat ahead of time. I ordered the Paccheri Pasta E Patate & it was delicious! Tasted like something I've never had before, very rich potato flavor & pasta cooked to perfection. Our server was very attentive & kind, she helped us pick the Panna Cotta Pistachio dessert towards the end of our meal. The indoor seating has very clean aesthetic, with large windows facing the street allowing a ton of natural light in. Overall, it was a great dining experience. I'll definitely need to come back to try their pizza soon!

Yelp
The Price of Elegance: When Presentation Outpaces Palate There are restaurants that dazzle with flavor, and then there are restaurants that rely entirely on the illusion of it. This establishment, regrettably, belongs in the latter category -- a glossy performance of fine dining without a trace of culinary soul. Let me be clear: the service was impeccable. The servers were kind, attentive, and deeply professional, gliding between tables with the kind of grace that suggests they deserved a far better kitchen behind them. Their warmth and attentiveness were the sole highlights of the evening -- a comforting distraction from what arrived on the plate. The risotto -- or what the menu insisted was risotto -- bore a closer resemblance to Uncle Ben's instant rice, tragically overcooked and seasoned with what could only be described as tap water and regret. The ribeye followed, limp and joyless, evoking memories of a microwaved Lean Cuisine that had ambitions of being steak. The mashed potatoes, served cold and textureless, completed the tableau of culinary disinterest. In the end, I left both hungry and slightly amused, wondering if this was all an elaborate experiment in how far atmosphere and service can distract from the absence of actual flavor. One leaves not full, but philosophically unsettled.

Yelp
The food here was pretty good. I did t care for the gnocchi but my dinner mates really liked it I liked the carbonara and the desserts also were pretty good. Celebrated a couple birthdays here and we weren't disappointed. Service was friendly and efficient.

Yelp
We had outdoor seating for two on Saturday, August 30th at 8:00 pm, and the whole experience was fantastic. The ambiance was super cute and the outdoor seating made it even more enjoyable. The restaurant was very busy, so making a reservation online was definitely the way to go. Even though we showed up early, they got us seated right away. Service was attentive, friendly, and on point throughout the night. The only thing that felt slightly off was the music--they were playing odd cover songs that didn't quite match the Italian vibe. A playlist to match the atmosphere would have made it perfect. As for the food, it was some of the best Italian cuisine I've ever had. We started with the Fritto Misto Gamberi e Calamari ($17.95) -- shrimp, calamari, and zucchini fried perfectly on a bed of arugula with marinara and lemon. This was hands down the best calamari I've ever tasted: light, crisp, and full of flavor. For my entrée, I ordered the Lasagna ($21.95), and I can honestly say it was the best lasagna I've ever had. The homemade pasta layers, creamy besciamella, rich bolognese, and melted mozzarella and parmigiano created a dish that was out of this world. My girlfriend ordered the Fusilli alla Siciliana ($21.95) with eggplant, sausage, ricotta, buffalo mozzarella, basil, and marinara -- another flavorful, perfectly cooked pasta dish that was a hit. Overall, Il Posto delivered on every level: great atmosphere, excellent service, and unforgettable food. This is without a doubt the best Italian restaurant I've been to in San Diego, and I can't recommend it enough.

Yelp
Linguini ai Fruiti de Mare Great service and beautiful ambiance! Staff was friendly and attentive. I got the linguini ai fruiti de mare, recommended by my waiter because I like seafood. We subbed the tomato sauce for white wine sauce, so not sure if that took away the desired flavor profile of the dish, but the pasta tasted a bit too boring for me. There wasn't any additional flavor to the pasta other than the seafood; however, the seafood was really really fresh and delicious! My friend got one of tbe specials -- a lobster ravioli. We were a bit disappointed that the dish came out cold but the sauce on the ravioli was yummy! Overall, not a bad spot for italian food. I would come back to try other dishes, as the service was amazing and you can really taste the freshness of their ingredients.

Yelp
My favorite Italian restaurant in South Park. They offer Neapolitan pizzas, which are delicious. Everything that I've had here has been delicious, but my favorites are the puttanesca and margarita pizza. The prices are very fair for the quality and portions, and the lunch menu is a great deal! The restaurant is beautifully decorated, with two indoor rooms and an outdoor patio to choose from.

Yelp
Finally tried this place for my birthday and loved it! It was easy to make a reservation and we were welcomed and sat right away. Service was great and attentive. The food was tasty and the restaurant had lovely warm lighting giving it a cozy feel. They also have a big back room with more seating. I really enjoyed the Pasta e Patate con Paccheri and the Diavola pizza! They surprised me with a birthday Pistachio Espresso Panna Cotta which was divine. They have many vegan options too which was nice to see. I can't wait to come here again.

Yelp
I regret not going to Il Posto sooner! I'm not too into the concept of "create your own pasta" as I much prefer choosing an already curated pasta creation from a restaurant. If I recall initially when they first opened, their pasta options were only "custom" but now they have some pre-curated options. We had reservations and they sat us immediately. I didn't realize how big the restaurant was because from the outside you only see one section of the space, but we were seated in an entirely different area which effectively doubled their dining space. Not that it should matter, but our waitress had a very personable and heavy Italian accent which adds to this place feeling very homey and authentic. We started with some focaccia which was nicely seasoned and very tasty. We also got the margherita pizza to share for the table. The pizza had a great flavor and the crust was slightly crispy but more on the soft-side. Particularly the main areas of the pizza were more "droopy" where it doesn't hold its structure. My main was the Orecchiette Salsicca e Friarielli which was fantastic! The sausage nicely flavored and the pasta was nicely cooked. The saucy was a little creamy and very addicting. This is definitely a homerun of a pasta dish! Overall our dinner was amazing and would be excited to return to try some more dishes!

Yelp
Wow! Best modern Italian I've had in San Diego. Came for SDRW. No small portions for the fixed price lunch menu. Carciofini was amazing. Frito misto - tender shrimp and calamari and great marinara. The bread was a flatbread with seasonings. Pizza with mortadella and burrata. Too much for lunch so we're bring home leftovers for dinner. And for dessert- cannoli and tiramisu. Service - stellar! If I could give it 6 stars I would. We'll definitely be back. your child

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night with reservation. The restaurant was packed. Atmosphere at the time was lively and busy. Service was very friendly, and the waiter was attentive and gave helpful recommendations. Appetizers: Arugula salad - nice and fresh, right amount of dressing, plenty of olives Calamari plate - the zucchini was especially delicious, and it was a nice change to also have shrimp (which tasted quite fresh!) but everything could have been crispier, as the outside was almost a little soggy Entrees: Risotto special - quite a large portion of risotto with mushrooms and tons of flavorful sun dried tomatoes, topped with some saucy rib meat that mixes together with the flavors of the risotto and some blue cheese. The meat could have been more tender, and the risotto was almost a little too al dente (very separate, firm, whole grains). Overall, the flavor was nice, but the whole dish was a little salty. Price was not stated on the menu, which is a little off putting as well. Vongole pasta (not pictured) - A bit over-salted. Everyone at our table who tried it, with our varying palates, thought it was too salty to be enjoyable. Lemon chicken - Came with a nice variety of veggies Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience, but the food left something to be desired with 2/3 dishes being overly salty and other minor spots for improvement mentioned.

Yelp
Tried this place by accident was actually looking to go somewhere else. But ended up going here instead and I'm so happy I did! This place was so delicious and lots of good options for dinner. Everything tasted very fresh. And the owner was so welcoming.

Yelp
Who would have thought, the best Italian food in San Diego would be in South Park? Stumbled across this place randomly walking by and extraordinarily impressed with their Pasta with Meatballs. Absolute best Pasta AND Service in SD!

Yelp
Once again, and every time, Il Posto is the best Italian, or Neapolitana style ristorante in San Diego county hands down! Their pizza is perfection. The dough is tossed and their toppings are simple and executed with finesse. Their fresh pastas are so memorable, you will find yourself ordering just one more and then another, Vermentino because you won't want to leave this beautiful and cozy trattoria in the centre of South Park. The Paccheri con le calamarelle, and seafood is incredibile! They are more than generous with the ample portions here. The owner, Fabio knows his food, his customers and obviously, hospitality. Il Posto has a simple eleganza. There is a caring craft to each dish that is created and delivered to you. Good food? no, Amazing Food! I honestly cannot wait to dine here again. Ciao vediamo domani!

Yelp
Il Posto is a gem of an Italian taverna in South Park and my 1600th review. We've been here for lunch several times, by ourselves or with friends. The service each time has been great. Our favorite Antipasto is the Mare Kiaro (5/5 $16.95) -- calimari, shrimp, mussels, and octopus marinated in lime juice, served with grilled zucchini, eggplant and peppers over arugula. We love the pizza here, which remind us of the finest pizzas we've enjoyed in Napoli and Roma. One we really like is the Pizza Norma (5/5 $13.95), an individual-size pizza with San Morzano tomatoes, eggplant, mozzarella, and ricotta. The Make Your Own Pasta is fun. You select a pasta, sauce and topping. One of the combinations we tried is the Tagliiatelle Bolognaise (4/5 $13.95). There's a limited selection of wines and beers. I'm glad it includes Peroni, which goes very well with the pizza. The dining room and bar are bright and airy with windows on two sides facing the cross streets. Street parking only, but I haven't had a problem finding a space within a block at midday. Evenings may be a different story.

Yelp
3 of us had a fritta calzone and lemon chicken, 1 cocktail 1 soda, appetizer and focaccia bread. They do charge for bread. For dessert we had cannolis. They were small The aperol spritz was perfect. All of the food was excellent with decent portions. IMO the prices are a bit high. 180.00 including tip. I really liked the guys that were serving. I'll try again.
google avatar

Hiba K.

Yelp
Solid Italian restaurant! I really appreciated the vegetarian and vegan options, there was a lot of variety. We were seated in the back portion of the restaurant, the tables were crammed in there but it helped create a lively atmosphere. They gave us a tiramisu type dessert for my sister's birthday - thank you! We had a great time.

Yelp
Had available reservations on a Saturday. We were surprised since there was a wait to get in. The restaurant isn't the biggest. The waiters are very friendly. I started with the house Focaccia. It was fine, but needed more EVOO. I decided to get the Vegan Pesto with penne pasta and it was surprisingly as good as regular pesto tastes. The restaurant doesn't have a full bar; they only serve beer and wine.

Yelp
Great pizza last night for our family. Great salads as well. The waiters are also great with young kids. We will be back!
google avatar

Randall B.

Yelp
Overall a nice night and good food. The censar salad was just ok. Really small for the price and not much flavor. Spinach salad was good. The pizza tasted like pizza from Italy and was tasty. The cippino was great. Tiramisu was good but had (we think) chocolate chips or something in it that made it a bit crunchy but it was good. The crème brûlée was way to eggy and custardy and the sugar on top was hardly torched. Would not recommend this Service was great and atmos was nice. The hard wooden chairs need a pillow or something. Not comfortable at all.

Yelp
Delicious Italian food in South Park. Definitely one of the best in SD! Their chicken marsala was the best I've ever had and the portion was huge. Excellent espressotini and wines.

Yelp
Service is first class and food is amazing! Antonio the master chef prepared some phenomenal meals such as Pasta ala siciliano with egg plant and sausage , zucchini flowers stuffed with a secret Sicilian recipe mix of herbs and cheese , and several personal pizzas in which the dough was heavenly ! My party then followed up with several craft deserts painstakingly made to perfection ! I give this place 10 stars !

Serdar A.

Yelp
Amazing experience! Food is top notch. Ordered calamari, 2 seafood based pasta. Everything is superbly prepared and fresh. Wine list is great; tried 3 different variety. U think it is reasonably priced for San Diego. Seated at street level table by window facing lively street. Great ambience. Was worth the drive from North County.

Yelp
Il Posto is pretty new to the neighborhood that already has some good Italian restaurants so the bar was already high and unfortunately it didn't really meet it. The ambiance is nice and the servers were nice as well but the food was kinda on the salty side for me and wasn't anything to rave about especially for the price. I might've just gone on a bad day so maybe I'll try it again. But it was underwhelming :/
google avatar

Kiki H.

Yelp
First time here and the service was very good. I had the appetizer trio and it was a miss. Everything tasted the same to me? The squash blossom was particularly disappointing. Marina dipping sauce was delicious though. Why four stars though? Cuz the pizza was AMAZING. My husband and I shared the the Bufalina pizza and it was perfect. The crust was delicious l, cooked perfectly. The tomatoes cheese and basil were fresh and flavorful and came together perfectly. We also had the focaccia and decked it easily! They definitely know how to do dough here. Next time I'll try a pasta or another starter instead of the appetizer trio, but I will definitely be back because the pizza was worth it alone!

Yelp
Visited on 2/14/25. Saw this place had raving reviews and was able to get a reservation for Valentine's Day. Overall was underwhelming. Food: - Fritto Misto was over fried and zucchini was soggy. - Carpaccio had a delicious lemon dressing. That dressing was the best tasting thing of this meal. - Pizza Diavola was salty and soggy. Very disappointed with this, especially with the amount of pizzas that were being served. We assumed it would be really good from reviews. Not the case. - Linguine alla vongole was fine. A bit salty but happy to report no gritty sand so the clams were cleaned well! - Espresso......burnt tasting. - Tiramisu had chocolate chips in it....why? It would have been good without! Service: Service was not too bad, considering it was a packed restaurant. Waters were refilled promptly. We did have a bit of a wait for our tiramisu. Ambiance: Really enjoyed the cafe style of different well known songs. Tables were packed close together but it was expected for a busy night. Glad we got to try it but meh. Won't be a repeat. Very curious about all the 5 star reviews though.

Yelp
The ambience was fabulous. It was very cozy and fun and had a beautiful bar. The staff were super friendly and helpful with the menu. I ordered the lobster ravioli because the waiter had said it was good. When I got it, I didn't know that's what it was because it was covered in clams and mussels and shrimp which was wonderful and delightful, but not what was on the menu. I was expecting a cream sauce or a lemon sauce and I got a super fresh tomato sauce, which was delicious. I would've loved a piece of bread on the side of the plate to stop up the sauce, but it didn't come with it and when I asked for bread, they said I had to order focaccia. So I decided to order the focaccia because I always think I can bring it home and make a gorgeous sandwich with it because it's so fluffy and airy and oily. But what I got was pizza dough. They do have similar ingredients but focaccia you let rise a couple of times and you make it yeasty, and you dimple it on the top and you add olive oil. The thing that bothered me was that the waiter told me it was a different kind of focaccia like northern Italian or some other part of Italy. That's bullshit. Focaccia is focaccia and I got pizza dough. Personally if I were them, I would've taken it off my bill because they knew damn well that this was not focaccia and they should've given me a piece of crusty bread to go with this $18 pasta that had two raviolis. The raviolis were undercooked and it was hard to taste the lobster because of the sauce. Needless to say, I did absolutely love the pasta because the tomato sauce was spectacular and the clams were gorgeous and the muscles were gorgeous, but I think the menu needs to have a bit of a better description. You also need to serve focaccia and not pizza dough or at least tell the customer that they're getting pizza dough. And a nice piece of bread on the side of that dish would've been perfect and all I needed. I know you made extra money for me ordering the pizza dough, but it came out like near the end of my meal and you could've suggested it at the beginning yeah lots of things. It's a fabulous restaurant. I did enjoy it and I will definitely go back, but of course there's always a few little things and when you're alone at the bar, you need to be waited on. You need to have a little extra attention and not wait for your wine and not wait for your bread. That's what makes a small local neighborhood restaurant really special is when the people that come in alone are treated really well. And they treated me nicely and the food was very good. But of course there's always room for improvement. Just don't lie about the focaccia cause it's patronizing. I know what focaccia is

Yelp
This restaurant has very good Italian food, if they have time, they are happy and try their food, this is exquisite and many thanks to Ana, the waitress who attended us for her help and recommendations.

Yelp
Delicious!! They give Buona Forchetta a run for their money. Have been back several times to both restaurants!

Yelp
Il Posto is located in the old Eclipse chocolate shop. The reviews here are great, but I found the food to just be okay. The atmosphere is very cute and they've designed the space really nicely with both inside and outside dining options. Even inside, it feels very al fresco with all the large open windows. We ordered the appetizer trio, caesar salad, frito misto, potato pasta, orecchiette pasta and pistachio pizza. The food was good, but nothing really stood out. I prefer the food at Piacere Mio better. I was impressed with the pricing here. The prices were very reasonable, especially for the wine. You could get a bottle of red for under $30, which is unheard of these days. Service was attentive at the beginning, but slowed down towards the end of our meal.

Yelp
A charming spot in South Park! The service was great, and the pizza was absolutely amazing--perfectly balanced flavors with a delicious crust that had just the right amount of char. I also loved how fresh the basil tasted. The pasta, while beautifully presented, was a bit bland and could have used more flavor. That said, I'd definitely come back for the pizza alone--it was that good!

Yelp
Sooooo goood. Not only do they look good, they taste great too!! I love that I live a walking distance and am going to bring everyone here! Sitting outside in the summer sunset was an amazing experience as well.

Yelp
The newest addition to South Park, I was hesitant to try as it was yet another Italian restaurant and very simple decor. The menu offers a lot of specials and build your own pasta but each additional ingredient is at least $2 which really increases the price of your meal, even if it's just a vegetable. I did really enjoy the buratta and fresh bread, as well as my pasta but again I'm not sure if the prices are worth the cost.

Yelp
Overall this was a nice place to eat! You can tell off the bat that they are authentic, as Italian is being spoken left and right. We wished we had tried the pizza because it looked fantastic with perfect crust. My partner got the Caesar Salad, Bolognese, and a red wine. She said the Caesar was delicious and flavorful. The pasta was also great though the porcini mushrooms on top were a bit sandy. The waiter was very friendly, and generally the ambience was romantic enough to feel like a special evening without requiring you to dress up. I only wish they could keep the door to the street closed, because it was so chilly!

Yelp
I was brought here by a friend who I trust for good eats and it did not disappoint. We're talking handmade pasta and regional Italian wines, massive portions, wonderful staff and a menu I could spend a month going through and hopefully someday can. You can sit at the bar or a table and the feeling is of being with friends for a casual lovey evening. I brought my Dad who adores Italian food and is picky and this is now his fave spot. It's always fresh, folks are nice and it's great food you can enjoy for lunch the next day if you can resist.

Yelp
Everything was delicious. We all got something different to try and it was all so yummy. The flavor was rich. Not overbearing with herbs. The service was amazing too! They were fast and friendly. Love the area too. Just was hard to find parking but that's anywhere now.

Yelp
I made the reservation via Yelp as it is simple and fast. I came here with my family to celebrate birthday festive with couple of people. The ambiance is very amazing. The waiter and the chef were very friendly. This place is perfect for the vegetarian and Vegan guests! The food was absolutely delicious. It was very authentic! Ordered: 1 - Make your own pasta - Tagliatelle Pasta with Vodka sauce (Marinara sauce and cream, oregano, basil and pepper). Added bell peppers and shrimps. This dish was cooked to perfection, and it was so delicious. 2 - Make your own pasta - Tagliatelle Pasta with Alfredo sauce (Cream, butter, parmigiano, pepper and parsley). This dish was super delicious. The authentic way! 3. Lobster Ravioli - Salted with Shrimp, finished in Lobster cream sauce topped with arucola and shaved parmigiano. 4. Focaccia (Evo Oil, Rosemary, Oregano & Pepper) We loved the freshly baked bread. It was so good. This dish was kind of salty and the only way to make it neutral is by eating each bite with arucola greens. The cream sauce was perfectly fine with the lobster pasta. If you are in the San Diego area and near South Park, this is a definitely the place you will want to dine at. Plan to come early as there is only street residential parking.

Yelp
We went for a late lunch and the restaurant was empty. We got a nice table by the window and ordered cocktails. I noticed the menus were a little sticky which bothered me, but I think that that's what happens when you don't have any women working out front. Just my two cents. The restaurant is cute. Doesn't really remind me of Italy, but the decor is nice. We had the special pizza and the pesto pasta with chicken. We also enjoyed our Apperal spritz. The food came out hot and fresh, which was great and a few people started wandering in once we were served. Be aware that parking in South Park is at a premium like everywhere else in San Diego these days so if you have a reservation, give yourself an extra 20-30 minutes so you don't have to rush and can make your reservation on time. I was disappointed I didn't have a chance to say hello to Antonio the owner and chef as we were lucky to eat a lot of his food when he was at Piacera mio. All in all we enjoyed it, but it was expensive.

Yelp
Visiting a friend and he recommended this place. Thank goodness we listened. We walked to this cute restaurant. Before we went, we did a quick reservation via YELP. My BFF and I got there early and they took us in immediately. Service was immediately and we decided to family style. We got a pizza cotto e funghi as an appetizer and loved that it was thin sliced. The burrata e prosciutto was tasty. We also split Insalata della casa, linguini de fruti de mare and Pollo al Marsala. I loved the flavor combo of the salad. It was perfectly dressed. The pasta was perfectly cooked to me and great al dente. The seafood combo with the sauce was tasty. The chicken was juicy with a very well seasoned sauce. We definitely needed to cap off the night with dessert. We celebrated my BFFs birthday with the Panna cotta pistachio! Definitely a place to come back to enjoy the ambiance and food!!

Yelp
My husband and I came here for the calamari and we're not disappointed. We also got a espressotini and a mule with the meatball happy hour dish. Everything was delicious. Ana our Server had great energy coupled with wonderful service. The restaurant is very airy and chill. I would definitely recommend and return.
