We ate at Il Posto tonight, delicious delicious food! The gluten-free pizza was tasty and the dough was nice and chewy. The lasagna was creamy. They even have a nice outdoor patio for my two puppies. Would definitely recommend this restaurant, I’ll be coming back again!

UPDATE: I made my own lasagna. It’s better. Rating restaurants is hard because if you haven’t tried their entire menu then you can’t have the 100% opinion. In my case, my girlfriend and I went for the basics. Spaghetti with meatballs and lasagna. Around $21 for each, we were left with a lot to be desired. Meatballs were bland and the more we tried the lasagna the more we told ourselves, “ maybe we can make this better at home”. I come from NJ. When you sit down at a table you get bread and oil IMMEDIATELY, much like chips and salsa here. However, here you have to order it for $7.50. I thought this was strange. The bread was very nice but just not what I was used to. It was pizza dough without the sauce pretty much. I think San Diego, all together, gets away with selling aesthetic over product. From coffee shops to restaurants, I see it’s more popular to sell people on the atmosphere you provide and then give them a subpar product. The front of the restaurant has an amazing atmosphere but if you’re unlucky you will be put in the square room with zero windows and voices bouncing off the walls. Serving sizes were amazing and the service was really friendly. Great staff but poor product. I’ll be back to try more but two strikes and I would be out.

Had a lovely work lunch here with the team during our Dan Diego visit. Friendly and helpful staff, nice setting with a very cute back room. Good food and nice cocktails.

absolutely enjoyed this neighborhood spot. The crust almost had as much flavor as the pizza itself and the salads were as tasty as they were beautiful. Thoroughly enjoyed this for lunch and look forward to coming back with family again soon.

I came in yesterday, let me say the staff was so amazing and helpful on guidance on the menu. Our server Isela was so nice and her knowledge was amazing. She was so informative and such a delight. Her personality made our stay so much better, she's such an amazing worker. Her service made our stay 20/10. Thank you Isela for an phenomenal service and for your spectacular touch you add to the experience you gave us. The food is so delicious and so filling, a great bite for the price! Definitely such a great spot to go with friends and family. I enjoyed the location and the aesthetic of IL Posto. I definitely recommend coming and giving a try. The food was prepared at a timely order and came hot and ready for my family and I. I have to say, the chef was so fabulous and even came out to greet us. One of the most personable experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. Thank you for the great food and great service. Will be back again!!!

This is a hidden gem in the north park area. My Italian friend recommended this place and I was not let down. Both the Burrata Cheese Ravioli and the Norma pizza were amazing! And the taste was something that I never tried before. Its a bit difficult to find parking, I parked in a nearby retail center and walked over to the restaurant.

We first visited a year ago. The experience was amazing. Our server was wonderful, the food was delicious, the ambience was superb. We have been talking about revisiting Il Posto since and finally went back this week. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. We truly are unsure if we built up our previous dining experience in our heads, or if we literally went to the wrong place this time. The food was bland. The lasagna only tasted of cheese and lacked seasoning. The alfredo sauce tasted of onions and cream and nothing else. We took 2 bites of it and covered it with the sauce from another dish we ordered. We attempted to order the risotto special with the steak, but were informed that the steak couldn’t be cooked medium. The waitress informed us that the kitchen only cooks steaks well done. This is a HUGE red flag. Why can a fresh steak not be cooked to a specified temperature? Does the chef not know how to cook a steak, or is the steak pre-cooked and warmed up to order? Either way, I would not consume a steak here. Either they changed chefs in the last year, or dropped their standards completely. It is disappointing to see that a place we have talked about and recommended to other people has fallen so far from our expectations. I wish I could take back my recommendations.

My family and I dined at Il Posto for the second time, and it was just as phenomenal as we remembered! The food was outstanding— we savored every bite of the pillowy gnocchi, perfectly balanced margarita pizza, hearty calzone, and creamy chicken Alfredo. Our server was incredibly polite and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. Il Posto never disappoints, and we can’t wait to return!

We are happy we took the recommendations of Anna who was taking care of us. Everything in the photos tastes as good as it looked. My favorite thing is that everything was sharable which is becoming a rarer thing due to shrinkflation. This is one of the top spots in South Park.

Isella was wonderful! She was very kind, attentive, and took the time to walk us through the menu, which we really appreciated since it was our first time here. Her service made the experience even better. We'll definitely be back!

As always Il Posto does not disappoint. We came here with friends that have not tried out the restaurant and they left extremely happy. We had pur Monthly Friends Dinner here and it was excellent. For drinks we ordered a Sangiovese Wine, a Sauvignon Blanc and an Expresso Martini. Our friend said it was the best Expresso Martini he gad ever had. For food we ordered the lasagna, salmon with pistachio sauce, linguini with fruti di mare and gluten free plant based ravioli. This last Vegan dish was delicious and made exquisitely. So happy they have Vegan options here since I am lactose intolerant and they have tons of options. Service was great and fast considering the restaurant was pretty busy. Ambiance was nice with a background music that seemed as if it was live music.

Repeat customer. I love this place. Finally made it here for happy hour. Stellar! Their pizzas are authentic neapolitan style, and I've enjoyed them at lunch and dinner. For HH, I had some of the best restaurant meatballs in San Diego. The Negroni was delicious too. I felt like i was having aperitivo in Italy. Ciao!

Came here for restaurant week. Out of the set menu, we got: Appetizer: calamari and bruschetta Entree: salmon Dessert: panna cotta We got here earlier than our reservation but got seated right away. The seating is pretty tight so it got really warm inside when the restaurant got full - would recommend asking for outside seating if you can. Service was attentive and friendly. Food wise, I think the panna cotta was the best thing out of everything we got. Portions are big and we got super full but the main dish was not my favorite. The pasta that came on the side was a little dry since it didn't have sauce. Maybe the other pasta dishes would be different.

My friends and I came here for restaurant week and I was disappointed. The set menu had great choices, but the food wasn't good. Great price for appetizer, entree, and dessert. In a cute area of South Park. Wouldn't come back. Food review: Vodka penne w/ shrimp: (3/5)I feel like vodka pasta is a staple and it just wasn't very good. I think I like my vodka more creamy. The noodles were hard. Good sharing portion though. Focaccia: (4/5) It was pretty good, but it didn't come with oil and vinegar as we thought, but they did bring some. The bread was soft and flavorful. Lasagna roll: (2/5) It was NOT good. The noodles were hard and the meat threw me off. I don't know if it was the prosciutto or texture that I didn't like. Caesar salad: (2/5) I was not a fan of the dressing also didn't like that it wasn't chopped. Bruschetta: (4/5) This was delicious! Perfectly crisp and flavors were on point. Chicken parm: (3.5/5) It was pretty tasty! I wish the chicken was a little more crispy. Again, the flavor wasn't there for me. Wouldn't order again.

Tried this place out during restaurant week with some family. Parking was street only and limited, but we were lucky to find a spot right by the restaurant. Very cute and casual ambiance, staff were very nice; our party ended up sitting outside. Drinks and food were delicious, and we left very satisfied.

Cute place, street parking right outside, and it has a huge back area as well. We came here for girls night dinner. Which is not something they were advertising anywhere on their menu. We had to mention it to them to see what items were available to select. Only reason we knew was because of Instagram reels from someone that posted. This dinner it comes with espresso martini, (we were able to substitute one of them for non alcoholic), salad and pasta. Choices are very limited. I think maybe 2-3 choices for each items. And the portions came in a martini glass. If you are here to feast, this will not be your menu choice, but if you are here for be vibe, this might be a good option. I opted out of girls night dinner as I wasn't fan of none of the pasta choices they had to offer. I've ordered lasagna and glass of wine. It wasn't busy at all on week night, but service was eh. They forgot about what wine I've got, had to call them over. It happens, all fine. Lasagna came out real fast. It was huge! Unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of them. It was more of pasta with cheese than anything else. Not much of meat. It was very dense. I do love that they are incorporating girls night dinner. I think it's going to be a hit or a miss for some people but it's worth the try. Good reason to be out and hang out with your friends. They do have vegan options!

It is my third time here and EVERY TIME the calamari hits!! Literally the best I have ever had. Service is great, ambience is good -- overall great spot. GET THE FRITO MISTO!!!!

Visited Il Posto during restaurant week and loved my experience. Returned for a birthday celebration and got to try a wider variety of items. They have a huge room in the back that would be great for larger gatherings. My favorite item was the Mortadella Pizza. Very fresh ingredients for everything we tried. Attentive and friendly service.

I have to say the that the food here was amazing! The pollo al marsala was just absolutely delicious. The service was great. Place is very clean. This place does get really busy so I highly recommend a reservation online ahead of time. And even then, you still may have to wait a certain amount of time.So get there early as well a little bit before the reservation maybe a good 10 or 15 minutes. The parking may be the most challenging part.

Birthday party - seated in back room with 3 other parties. It was so loud that it was difficult to hear much of a conversation. The food was good. There is no complementary bread (which is what is the norm in most Italian restaurants that we frequent). Service was slow, but partly due to large parties. They would only split the bill with four credit cards (we needed 6). They tried to say the bill needed to be split evenly between the 4 credit cards).

As a first-timer, my weekday afternoon trip here was worth the headache of hunting for a parking spot. Davide gave us plenty of time to peruse the menus and was attentive to water refills. Vegan offerings were clearly categorized: several pizzas and the option to make-your-own pasta with various shapes, sauces, and toppings. We opted for the Arrabbiata Vegana with vegan sausage and built a pasta with orecchiette, funghi sauce vegana, and vegan ricotta. Food came out within a reasonable time. Pizza had a perfectly chewy crust, and the vegan sausage complemented the spice of the arrabbiata. We'd decided against adding vegan mozz, which allowed the sweet acidity of the San Marzano tomatoes to take the spotlight. Pasta was slightly undercooked, missing the mark. Vegan ricotta added a nice visual element and bit of texture, but lacked flavor. Funghi sauce was too light for my taste, and after tasting the pizza, I wished I'd gone for a red. The space itself had plenty of seating (bar, indoor, small outdoor section) and large windows that beckoned natural light inside. Restrooms were stocked and felt clean. However, I docked a star because our table was near an alarm system, a recurring interruption that soon made me regret our seating decision. I appreciated the clearly indicated vegan options and on-point service. I would love to see some vegan appetizers on the menu next time. As it stands, I can already taste another delicious pizza in my near future.

I might have a new favorite Italian restaurant in town. I stumbled upon this play via an online ad, and I am so glad I decided to give it a try. Food & Drinks: The Mortadella Burrata was new to me and it grew on me quickly, also liked their Bruschetta. I absolutely loved my pasta(Paccheri in Cremosa sauce with sausage and zucchini). Also liked their Aglio e olio spaghetti, which a friend got. Their "make your own pasta" option, available in both vegan and non-vegan varieties, is extensive, allowing you to create whatever your heart desires. They have a good selection of wine, but I was disappointed with the significant upcharge. I know all restaurants upcharge, but for wine I've had before, it felt too expensive. Their espresso martini is very popular, but I found it only alright. The star of the table has to be the Tiramisu - huge layers of very soft and light mascarpon,e and the right amount of coffee made it one of my favs in town. Service: Some of the waitstaff seemed confused and clueless. We asked the guy who sat us down for the Restaurant week menu(which was posted at the door), but he didn't know what we were talking about. He also went to "Find out more" but never returned. We were famished, so we decided to go with the main menu. Our server was a sweet lady who helped us with a lot of recs and even made us our espresso martini after closing time. Ambiance: This is a small, cozy, and cute place with just enough seating to avoid overcrowding. I loved their decor and design too. In-all: I will definitely come back here to try their pizzas. Overall, a big thumbs up from me.

The focaccia here is worth 5 stars alone! As a non bread lover, I could not get enough! The meatballs were so good but the little focaccia bites has the perfect crustiness and chewy insides- almost like mochi! Sauce with generous parmesan was incredible for dipping. At happy hour, we got the trio took and were surprised by how good arancini could be. Based on our few apps, geear service, and cute interior- would definitely come back for a full meal.

Ordered the Lobster Ravioli and the Paccheri Alfredo with Pancetta, and both were very enjoyable. The lobster ravioli was creamy and comforting with a delicate seafood flavor, while the pasta itself was cooked perfectly. The paccheri Alfredo was rich without being too heavy, and the pancetta added a nice savory bite. Both dishes felt satisfying and well made--great choices if you're in the mood for something indulgent and comforting. Service was great, and the ambience was phenomenal--set on a corner in a really nice neighborhood, which made the whole experience even better. Would definitely order again.

This spot has one of the best Italian food in San Diego! We came here in April of 2024 and started with a bottle of Moscato d'asti and a couple glasses of Aperol Spritz. For apps, we shared the carpaccio di Manzo and bruschetta campaña. Both dishes were delicious and nicely presented. Next, we had the spaghetti carbonara, cioppino, and pizza diavola. Everything was fantastic! They even out the spaghetti in a bread bowl for me, even thought they weren't doing that anymore. We saved room for the panna cotta Nutella and affogato! The panna cotta wasn't too sweet and affogato came with chocolate Pocky sticks. Still reminiscing about this visit after all this time. I will come back when I'm craving for authentic Italian food!

Had a reservation at 6pm on a Saturday, and we were sat instantly! Service and quick and friendly. The restaurant has a cozy cute vibe! The tables felt a little crowded in the back area, but we still felt we had some privacy within our group. We got some of the focaccia bread, and it was toasted perfectly! We ordered some marinara to dip as well. Great starter combo! We also got a pizza and a BYO pasta! I got fusilli, vegan pesto, add chicken, and it was perfect!! Everyone was satisfied with what they got :) Everything was reasonably priced! Between 4 adults, we got a few cocktails each, 2 pizzas, 2 pastas, and a dessert. Roughly around $200! Good price for good vibes :) Will be coming back!

Went here for a work holiday party and they seated us in a room in the back. The staff were so sweet setting up the tables for our large party and even setting aside a table for us to put our gifts on for a gift exchange. They were very attentive and came by often to get us more drinks or apps throughout our time there. The room was a good size, allowing our party of around 20 people to be seated comfortably. As the night went on more parties were brought into the room too so it wasn't a private room but felt pretty close to it. The food is honestly reasonably priced. They have a happy hour with some drinks and small plates from like 2-5 during the week. I got one app of the meatballs to spit with a coworker. They came with a size of like a fried pizza dough- the menu said with deep fried pizza. The meatball was delicious. It was so buttery smooth and soft with absolutely no chunks or dry spots. The sauce was delicious too with a slight acidity but the perfect balance of sweetness. For my entree I got the Orecchiette salsicca e friarielli and added extra chicken for protein. The pasta dish was huge, and very filling. The pasta was perfectly cooked with a slightly creamy sauce and amazing sausage. The chicken was a bit dry but did the job of adding extra protein. I had to take more than half of the pasta home because the portion was so big. I ended the meal with some spumoni which came in a chocolate shell was really nice as a finisher. I'm really glad I found this place and will definitely be back. I gotta try their pizza next time!

Came here for a team lunch. It was recommended by one of my colleagues and this place has great fresh and authentic Italian food. We were greeted at the door and got to sit anywhere we liked. Since we went for lunch, there wasn't too many people and it was a nice sunny day allowing us to enjoy the outside views. We ordered a Margherita pizza with a insalata di cesare to share. My colleague ordered the panuozzo vegetariano, then my other colleague and I ordered a make your own pasta. The make your own pasta got mixed up a bit since me and my colleague ordered something similar. She had her pasta with funghi sauce, eggplant, and mozzarella. I had mine with cremosa, artichoke, and chicken. She got my artichoke and I got her eggplant and I wish it was an easy switch but she's vegetarian and mine came with chicken. We didn't notify the waiter since the food was delicious regardless, but I'm sure they would have corrected it for us no problem. I would definitely come back here again. :)

Tried this place during restaurant week and it did not disappoint. The servings were huge and the food is really flavorful. It's a really cute interior space as well and the servers were really nice. Would highly recommend it for a cute date night in South Park.

Pretty disappointed with my dinner here Saturday night with 4 of my girlfriends, especially since I just moved to the neighborhood. Arrived for our 7:15 reservation and were seated in the back room, at a table in the center, very close to an another table with a large party behind us. Off the bat, any time a server went to their table they either pushed by our seats or leaned over our seats to put stuff down on their table. After server took our drink orders we waited 15 minutes to try to put in our dinner order. Our server kept coming into the room but helping all the other tables except ours. We finally flagged down a bus boy to get our waitress. Once we finally put in our orders, food came out at a decent pace. Food was decent, got the zucchini cream pizza which I'd give 4 stars and pistachio salmon which was ok but the side of spinach was not. Overall would not come back again.

Made a reservation for two at 7:45pm, arrived 30 min earlier & was sat ahead of time. I ordered the Paccheri Pasta E Patate & it was delicious! Tasted like something I've never had before, very rich potato flavor & pasta cooked to perfection. Our server was very attentive & kind, she helped us pick the Panna Cotta Pistachio dessert towards the end of our meal. The indoor seating has very clean aesthetic, with large windows facing the street allowing a ton of natural light in. Overall, it was a great dining experience. I'll definitely need to come back to try their pizza soon!

This is my favorite neighborhood spot!!! Come in for a glass of wine and awesome food! Ana and Davide are the best and always great people to talk to at the bar!!! I love it!!!

The food here was pretty good. I did t care for the gnocchi but my dinner mates really liked it I liked the carbonara and the desserts also were pretty good. Celebrated a couple birthdays here and we weren't disappointed. Service was friendly and efficient.

Had such a great experience. First time here and came in with some friends, great food and what even made it more welcoming was our waitress Ana. She was amazing and attentive. Definitely will be coming back.

Linguini ai Fruiti de Mare Great service and beautiful ambiance! Staff was friendly and attentive. I got the linguini ai fruiti de mare, recommended by my waiter because I like seafood. We subbed the tomato sauce for white wine sauce, so not sure if that took away the desired flavor profile of the dish, but the pasta tasted a bit too boring for me. There wasn't any additional flavor to the pasta other than the seafood; however, the seafood was really really fresh and delicious! My friend got one of tbe specials -- a lobster ravioli. We were a bit disappointed that the dish came out cold but the sauce on the ravioli was yummy! Overall, not a bad spot for italian food. I would come back to try other dishes, as the service was amazing and you can really taste the freshness of their ingredients.

We came here for restaurant week 9/25. We got the fritto misto gamberi e calamari, spaghetti con polpette, and tiramisu. And the saffron risotto of the day topped with 8oz rib eye tagliata style as an extra entree. Overall the food was good. The calamari was my favorite. The risotto was interesting. It was very dry, but still had some good flavor. The rib eye pieces on top were well done. The spaghetti came with two huge meatballs. It had more of a meatloaf texture than a traditional meat texture. Saw a lot of items I want to try the next time I come. Service was good. Street parking. Plenty of tables. Had seating outside.

Delicious experience! Great service! Dined here with a group of 10 for a birthday celebration. We ordered several appetizers to share. All were delicious and fresh: burrata and prosciutto, caprese, calamari, and flatbread. Several of the group shared dishes. I ordered the carbonara. It was a good portion that I could take left overs home, another friend ordered the bolognese, also delicious and another friend did a build your own pasta. We shared several bottles of the rose, some ordered cocktails. It was a great experience. Giuseppe was our server. He was patient, welcoming, and attentive. I would definitely return and recommend this restaurant to others looking for a good Italian experience.

I heard great things about this restaurant so I decided to give it a try. Our server Isela was very attentive and sweet! Very knowledgeable about the the food and wine. We just ordered all her recommendations and loved them all!! Pizza was incredible!! I usually don't finish the crust but I couldn't stop eating! So fluffy yet crispy! Love the chill atmosphere here too. Very relaxing. Definitely coming back and try more desserts too next time!

Il Posto is an absolute gem in South Park. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels warm, intimate, and effortlessly romantic--perfect for a date night or special evening out. The food was pure perfection. Every dish tasted authentic, thoughtfully prepared, and full of rich Italian flavors. You can truly tell that care and tradition go into every plate. Nothing felt rushed or overdone. It was just beautifully balanced and delicious from start to finish. The service was just as impressive, attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming without being intrusive. It made the entire experience feel relaxed and special. If you're looking for a charming Italian restaurant with incredible food, great service, and a cozy romantic vibe, Il Posto is a must visit. I can't wait to come back. Seriously it was great .

We checked out this place for restaurant week and it was great! We got to try some of everything! Favorites were the calamari and pasta! Lots of food and service was great! Bummed they were out of tiramisu that night

My favorite Italian restaurant in South Park. They offer Neapolitan pizzas, which are delicious. Everything that I've had here has been delicious, but my favorites are the puttanesca and margarita pizza. The prices are very fair for the quality and portions, and the lunch menu is a great deal! The restaurant is beautifully decorated, with two indoor rooms and an outdoor patio to choose from.

I regret not going to Il Posto sooner! I'm not too into the concept of "create your own pasta" as I much prefer choosing an already curated pasta creation from a restaurant. If I recall initially when they first opened, their pasta options were only "custom" but now they have some pre-curated options. We had reservations and they sat us immediately. I didn't realize how big the restaurant was because from the outside you only see one section of the space, but we were seated in an entirely different area which effectively doubled their dining space. Not that it should matter, but our waitress had a very personable and heavy Italian accent which adds to this place feeling very homey and authentic. We started with some focaccia which was nicely seasoned and very tasty. We also got the margherita pizza to share for the table. The pizza had a great flavor and the crust was slightly crispy but more on the soft-side. Particularly the main areas of the pizza were more "droopy" where it doesn't hold its structure. My main was the Orecchiette Salsicca e Friarielli which was fantastic! The sausage nicely flavored and the pasta was nicely cooked. The saucy was a little creamy and very addicting. This is definitely a homerun of a pasta dish! Overall our dinner was amazing and would be excited to return to try some more dishes!

We had outdoor seating for two on Saturday, August 30th at 8:00 pm, and the whole experience was fantastic. The ambiance was super cute and the outdoor seating made it even more enjoyable. The restaurant was very busy, so making a reservation online was definitely the way to go. Even though we showed up early, they got us seated right away. Service was attentive, friendly, and on point throughout the night. The only thing that felt slightly off was the music--they were playing odd cover songs that didn't quite match the Italian vibe. A playlist to match the atmosphere would have made it perfect. As for the food, it was some of the best Italian cuisine I've ever had. We started with the Fritto Misto Gamberi e Calamari ($17.95) -- shrimp, calamari, and zucchini fried perfectly on a bed of arugula with marinara and lemon. This was hands down the best calamari I've ever tasted: light, crisp, and full of flavor. For my entrée, I ordered the Lasagna ($21.95), and I can honestly say it was the best lasagna I've ever had. The homemade pasta layers, creamy besciamella, rich bolognese, and melted mozzarella and parmigiano created a dish that was out of this world. My girlfriend ordered the Fusilli alla Siciliana ($21.95) with eggplant, sausage, ricotta, buffalo mozzarella, basil, and marinara -- another flavorful, perfectly cooked pasta dish that was a hit. Overall, Il Posto delivered on every level: great atmosphere, excellent service, and unforgettable food. This is without a doubt the best Italian restaurant I've been to in San Diego, and I can't recommend it enough.

Came here on a Saturday night with reservation. The restaurant was packed. Atmosphere at the time was lively and busy. Service was very friendly, and the waiter was attentive and gave helpful recommendations. Appetizers: Arugula salad - nice and fresh, right amount of dressing, plenty of olives Calamari plate - the zucchini was especially delicious, and it was a nice change to also have shrimp (which tasted quite fresh!) but everything could have been crispier, as the outside was almost a little soggy Entrees: Risotto special - quite a large portion of risotto with mushrooms and tons of flavorful sun dried tomatoes, topped with some saucy rib meat that mixes together with the flavors of the risotto and some blue cheese. The meat could have been more tender, and the risotto was almost a little too al dente (very separate, firm, whole grains). Overall, the flavor was nice, but the whole dish was a little salty. Price was not stated on the menu, which is a little off putting as well. Vongole pasta (not pictured) - A bit over-salted. Everyone at our table who tried it, with our varying palates, thought it was too salty to be enjoyable. Lemon chicken - Came with a nice variety of veggies Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience, but the food left something to be desired with 2/3 dishes being overly salty and other minor spots for improvement mentioned.

We went for a late lunch and the restaurant was empty. We got a nice table by the window and ordered cocktails. I noticed the menus were a little sticky which bothered me, but I think that that's what happens when you don't have any women working out front. Just my two cents. The restaurant is cute. Doesn't really remind me of Italy, but the decor is nice. We had the special pizza and the pesto pasta with chicken. We also enjoyed our Apperal spritz. The food came out hot and fresh, which was great and a few people started wandering in once we were served. Be aware that parking in South Park is at a premium like everywhere else in San Diego these days so if you have a reservation, give yourself an extra 20-30 minutes so you don't have to rush and can make your reservation on time. I was disappointed I didn't have a chance to say hello to Antonio the owner and chef as we were lucky to eat a lot of his food when he was at Piacera mio. All in all we enjoyed it, but it was expensive.

My new go to spot. Anna is amazing, I only want her to attend us LOL. The food is great and the prices are better aswell as the ambiance. 10/10. The affogato and creme brulee are reasons alone to go back. I forget the pasta it got, but it was beyond delicious. It was a spaghetti, I think I got the Linguine ala nerano. . Im so happy I found this spot! Thanks for making our experience so special!! ​

Once again, and every time, Il Posto is the best Italian, or Neapolitana style ristorante in San Diego county hands down! Their pizza is perfection. The dough is tossed and their toppings are simple and executed with finesse. Their fresh pastas are so memorable, you will find yourself ordering just one more and then another, Vermentino because you won't want to leave this beautiful and cozy trattoria in the centre of South Park. The Paccheri con le calamarelle, and seafood is incredibile! They are more than generous with the ample portions here. The owner, Fabio knows his food, his customers and obviously, hospitality. Il Posto has a simple eleganza. There is a caring craft to each dish that is created and delivered to you. Good food? no, Amazing Food! I honestly cannot wait to dine here again. Il Posto is a gem of an Italian taverna in South Park and my 1600th review. We've been here for lunch several times, by ourselves or with friends. The service each time has been great. Our favorite Antipasto is the Mare Kiaro (5/5 $16.95) -- calimari, shrimp, mussels, and octopus marinated in lime juice, served with grilled zucchini, eggplant and peppers over arugula. We love the pizza here, which remind us of the finest pizzas we've enjoyed in Napoli and Roma. One we really like is the Pizza Norma (5/5 $13.95), an individual-size pizza with San Morzano tomatoes, eggplant, mozzarella, and ricotta. The Make Your Own Pasta is fun. You select a pasta, sauce and topping. One of the combinations we tried is the Tagliiatelle Bolognaise (4/5 $13.95). There's a limited selection of wines and beers. I'm glad it includes Peroni, which goes very well with the pizza. The dining room and bar are bright and airy with windows on two sides facing the cross streets. Street parking only, but I haven't had a problem finding a space within a block at midday. Evenings may be a different story.

First time I came here was 6 mnths ago. Brought my family here. The service was impeccable the food was fabulous. Every server, everyone asked what you needed. And you had it within seconds, and you didn't even have to ask they were right there to give you whatever it is you needed. The bartender made excellent drinks. Couldn't go wrong with anthing. The Pizza waanything one of the best we ever had and thought wow this is our new pizza n fantastic italian food hangout . My seafood pasta was so delicious hot and made to perfection, thats saying a lot coming from a person like me cause i love to cook and great at it. Everyone's food was above and beyond fabulous, delicious. Sadly to say we have dined at this restaurant four more times after that total. Hoping each time would be like the first. And each time it just got worse and worse. The service is so horrible.You have to ask several times for water silverware, everything. What's worse, your waitress is your bartender? Also, which means your drinks are horrible.Bartenders are bartender a waitress a waitress. The Pizza always comes cold after having a slice and telling them the pizza is cold and theres no cheese and barely any basil. Being its a Margarita Pizza. they took the Pizza back to the kitchen after we pulled a couple slices off of it, stuck in the oven and warmed it up and brought it back to us with no extra cheese or basil and who puts a Pizza back in the oven after a customer has eaten off of it? the proper professional and sanitary thing was to do is make another Pizza properly.. By the way, there was no apology from my waitress. As if we were being a burden on her. Not enough cheese, not enough sauce. Ask another server for question. Pepper and parmesan cheese several times and he said he would get it and, never brought it to us it. Took like fifteen minutes to get it from our waitress service is just horrible horrible....The dough is chewy and it used to be the best pizza we had ever had, and now, it's one of the worst pizzas we've had. My seafood pasta, it's nothing like the first time. And I ordered it every time I went, and it has never been like the first time, it just gets worse and worse. No flavor dry, not enough marinara. sauce. The clams and the oyster shells are empty. A few shrimps barely any the scallops. The calamari was like 56 pieces stuck to each other, or I had to cut em apart just a glop, just thrown into the bowl. We ordered the Lasagna for the first time. And it'll definitely be the last time pretty much for everything. I've never seen such horrible Lasagna. That is so dry. No melted cheese, no ricotta cheese layers and layers of pasta with a very, very thin layer of meat cant even tell if it even hash marrio sauce on it.It's so white and a very small portion. Several months ago, when we first dined at this place, we thought we found a gem in South Park or San Diego period we were blown away by the service and the food, the bartender, everything. If I could have given it 10 stars, I would have if I can give it 0 star today. I would the only reason I give a 1 stars. It's because the restaurant is quaint and pretty. But otherwise we will not be returning to this restaurant one out of five times for me is ridiculous too many misses and not enough hits... The owner used to see the customers interact very friendly. Instead, he stands at the bar and talks of the bartender. The whole time not even paying attention to his customers. Or what's going on in his restaurant? It's like he doesn't care anymore. No one in there cares anymore. Everybody's rude and definitely not accommodating. They act like you're a burden when you ask for utensils or napkins or water or toppings for anything. They don't even come back and ask you, how everything is. I'm just so disappointed with this restaurant. I really thought this was gonna be one of my favorite restaurants or my family's at least.Definitely not a duo over and definitely would not recommend it waste of money... big disappointment!!

Not a great valentines day experience. Food was underwhelming. There was a long line but turns out it was all reservations. We had placed a reservation for 7:30 and waited approximately an additional 40+min wait. Everyone in line seemed to be irritated bc it passed their reservation time as well. Felt like it wasn't well managed for busy holidays. Upon seating, where we were sat felt like a complete joke! It was a folding table with black plastic on top right in front of the entrance to the patio. Everyone walking in and out kept bumping into my partner. We felt like we are at a garage party not a restaurant. We asked three times to move because there were three open tables at the time. One man, who I believed was the GM, laughed and said no. We then asked for the heater next to us to be turned on but was told it was broken- every table had their heaters on... our appetites were ruined so we ended up taking the rest of our meal to go. We felt extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome.

The ambience was fabulous. It was very cozy and fun and had a beautiful bar. The staff were super friendly and helpful with the menu. I ordered the lobster ravioli because the waiter had said it was good. When I got it, I didn't know that's what it was because it was covered in clams and mussels and shrimp which was wonderful and delightful, but not what was on the menu. I was expecting a cream sauce or a lemon sauce and I got a super fresh tomato sauce, which was delicious. I would've loved a piece of bread on the side of the plate to stop up the sauce, but it didn't come with it and when I asked for bread, they said I had to order focaccia. So I decided to order the focaccia because I always think I can bring it home and make a gorgeous sandwich with it because it's so fluffy and airy and oily. But what I got was pizza dough. They do have similar ingredients but focaccia you let rise a couple of times and you make it yeasty, and you dimple it on the top and you add olive oil. The thing that bothered me was that the waiter told me it was a different kind of focaccia like northern Italian or some other part of Italy. That's bullshit. Focaccia is focaccia and I got pizza dough. Personally if I were them, I would've taken it off my bill because they knew damn well that this was not focaccia and they should've given me a piece of crusty bread to go with this $18 pasta that had two raviolis. The raviolis were undercooked and it was hard to taste the lobster because of the sauce. Needless to say, I did absolutely love the pasta because the tomato sauce was spectacular and the clams were gorgeous and the muscles were gorgeous, but I think the menu needs to have a bit of a better description. You also need to serve focaccia and not pizza dough or at least tell the customer that they're getting pizza dough. And a nice piece of bread on the side of that dish would've been perfect and all I needed. I know you made extra money for me ordering the pizza dough, but it came out like near the end of my meal and you could've suggested it at the beginning yeah lots of things. It's a fabulous restaurant. I did enjoy it and I will definitely go back, but of course there's always a few little things and when you're alone at the bar, you need to be waited on. You need to have a little extra attention and not wait for your wine and not wait for your bread. That's what makes a small local neighborhood restaurant really special is when the people that come in alone are treated really well. And they treated me nicely and the food was very good. But of course there's always room for improvement. Just don't lie about the focaccia cause it's patronizing. I know what focaccia is

Had available reservations on a Saturday. We were surprised since there was a wait to get in. The restaurant isn't the biggest. The waiters are very friendly. I started with the house Focaccia. It was fine, but needed more EVOO. I decided to get the Vegan Pesto with penne pasta and it was surprisingly as good as regular pesto tastes. The restaurant doesn't have a full bar; they only serve beer and wine.
