Yelp
10 stars. A better dining experience is hard to imagine. From the greeting and seating to the departure with half my entree as leftovers, dining at Il Posto was sublime.
Although the restaurant was full, every table occupied, my husband and I could easily carry on a conversation. Every member of the staff is in constant motion --- attentive, professional and genuinely aim to please. The restaurant has a comfortable feel. No snobby service here, just people proud to represent the place.
The food was superb. Each dish was a literal work of art visually and taste-wise. Best bruschetta that has ever passed my lips. Piled high with grape tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and prosciutto, lovely olive oil. We ordered the arugula salad to share. Another beautiful dish. Slightly overdressed but I wondered if that was just the way it is prepared. Didn't bother me at all, cleaned my plate. Check out my pictures.
I had to order the classic carbonara because it was prepared the right Italian way: egg yolks, pancetta, black pepper, Parmigiana and pecorino and al dente (chef's kiss). No cream!!! Yasssss!!! Perfection in a bowl with tons of pancetta tiny cubes throughout. I had entire forkfuls.
Hubs had to have the spaghetti Bolognese with sausage added, wow. Such a rich, flavorful sauce with lots of Wagyu beef and chunks of sausage to the side. Like everything else we ordered, the exact right proportions of ingredients. Nothing overpowered anything else. Everything played together like a symphony.
For dessert, I had the panna cotta at the recommendation of our server. A good portion, very dense and creamy with a thick topping of melted chocolate. Note: I didn't say sauce because this reminded me of drinking chocolate. I had to force myself to eat slowly. My husband chose the spumoni. Huge scoop divided in halves in chocolate shells. Ice cream was artfully arranged with larger portions of the cherry and chocolate and a thinner layer of pistachio. What? Even the ice cream! No details missed here.
I could go on and on. The final lovely touch was our server was really busy. I stopped a person I thought was the owner or manager. His immediate reaction was "How can I help?" As soon as I requested the check, he immediately hopped to the register, grabbed the nearest server and asked him to get it going for us. Meanwhile, our server came by and he presented it. After we paid, the owner/manager himself delivered the receipt and thanked us for coming. The total bill was $116. We were flabbergasted, honestly. One of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had worldwide.
