"Open for: DinnerPrice range: $It’s hard to put into words how much people adore Il Rione, a buzzy pizzeria in the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood. Diners have been known to wait for hours at nearby bars until their phones light up to signal their tables are ready. They are rewarded with dazzling New York-style pizzas dished up in a slightly shabby, slightly chic dining room with an open kitchen and bar. The pizzeria focuses almost exclusively on stellar pies like margherita, sausage, and white clam, but the menu does offer a select few additions like meat and cheese boards and a handful of salads. To drink, there is an equally concise roster of beers, wines, and cocktails.Know before you go: To while away the inevitable wait, cross the street to Stone Mad, one of the most beautiful and welcoming Irish bars in town." - Douglas Trattner

"Il Rione is a tiny spot for grown-up pizza parties, where you can sip Negronis and eat fantastic pies under candle chandeliers. They roll out thin, crispy crusts, and are one of the few places in town that uses higher-quality toppings like lemon ricotta, fried sage leaves, and speck. The clam pie special is the best thing here, but like the cool substitute teacher who always puts on a movie, it’s not always around. Get here on the earlier side, since they don’t do reservations." - kate bigam kaput

If you're in the mood for a fantastic meal, Il Rione Pizzeria is an absolute must-visit. We love Il Rione Pizzeria so much that we’ll actually drive all the way from Southeast Michigan just to eat here—it’s that good! The arugula salad is a standout—fresh, crisp, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of bite. The Negroni here is always on point, expertly crafted and bold in flavor. But for me, the real star is the Speck Pizza—crispy, savory, and indulgent, it's hands down my favorite. Word to the wise: arrive at least 10 minutes before opening because this place fills up fast. It's no surprise, given the quality of food and the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Il Rione has earned its popularity, and after one visit, you'll understand why. Highly recommend!

Google
It's a really good pie. Pizza is one of my weaknesses and this is some of the best you will find in the area. Perfect combination of flavors; just the right amount of delicious sauce, quality toppings, and a dough that makes you want to kick the legs up and savor every bite. You're only regret will be to not frequent this establishment. Enjoy!

Google
The best pizza in Cleveland!! My favorite is the speck pie but a close second is the green pie with pepperoni. The crust is chewy and thin, my favorite! Our bartender Marcus was amazing and makes the best drinks. My boyfriend and I love the paper plane and Negroni. So worth a visit whether you’re a local or just passing through. I literally can’t get enough of Il Rione! Love it!

Food and drinks were phenomenal. It gets super busy so the waiter kept forgetting about our salad orders. They didn’t come out until the end.

Google
Co-worker at the Hospital said Il Rione was the best true Italian petza crust around. So I came by right after work. Doors didn't open till 4. It was a short wait. So I was first in. The bar keep suggested a Guinness on tap so I said yes. The pie was easy choice when the wait staff recommended the Green Pizza. By the time I finished the Il Rione salad The pie was here. Come on down... tell them Joe sent you...they will say Joe Who...that's me 😀

Google
I’ve had Il rione pizza probably more times than I can even count so I’m actually shocked that this is the first time I’m leaving a review but that’s likely because this is the first time I actually remembered to take pictures of anything. When I say this is the best pizza in Cleveland. There is no exaggeration here. The staff here is some of the best in Cleveland and you can tell by watching them that they are well organized machine. This place is always busy and they don’t take reservations, but I do promise you every second is worth the wait! Don’t take my word from it, just look at the hundred of reviews that have been left for them. The quality of their service speaks for itself.

Google
WOW. I hadn't heard of this place but was super impressed. Delicious pizza, friendly and hard working service, rustic and clean atmosphere. We got the Diavolo Pie and the Sausage Pie. Both were good, but the Diavolo Pie was my favorite. It was surprisingly spicy in a good way. The pizza was nice and crisp and would hold its shape without the ingredients sliding off. I'll definitely be back.

Google
AMAZING pizza that you can smell down the street. The wait IS long so make sure to get a reservation or call in take out. Parking is also tricky around the restaurant. This place has 4.8 stars for a reason, it’s a favorite of many! We ordered the #1 Speck and #5 Sausage and both were delicious! Can’t wait to go back to try the Green, which also looked incredible. I really don’t think you can go wrong ordering here. Our party of 4 ordered two larges (18 inches) and only finished one of them. The pizza is thin but huge and filling, the pictures don’t do it justice.

Yelp
I want to start by saying this place is the best pizza in the Cleveland area, hands down, because this is a pizza place. The speck is a ridiculously good flavor combo pie that is #1 on the suggested pies list for a reason, the sausage pie with pepperoni is red sauce perfection, the Roseanna pie is an amazing white pie, and the pesto on the green pie is not overpowering and provides a great herbal complement to the hand tossed pizza made here. Personally I love the diavolo pie as well for the Calabrian chiles and spicy salami but I can understand others may not love that (add pepperoni to it and this pie becomes flavor enhanced!) However, I also want to focus on the service of this place. The servers and bartenders here are top notch. If you're lucky enough to get Marcus as a bartender (like my wife and I did) on a Friday night, you'll be in great hands. The guy will make you a bee's knees with tequila rather than gin (personal preference, but the original gin version is good as well) then converse with you while doing 3 other things. I can tell he is a great worker and a great person! He is a great asset to Il Rione. Attend this place if you want great pizza, great drinks, and great company

Eimy B.

Yelp
Food and drinks were phenomenal. It gets super busy so the waiter kept forgetting about our salad orders. They didn't come out until the end. Building is super cute, large bar space and sweet outdoor seating.

Yelp
My Fiance and I moved from NYC to Cleveland and really miss their pizza. Luckily we found Il Rione, which is reminiscent of some of our favorite NYC joints. We got the speck pizza and mezcal margarita. Both very solid. Would come back

Zohabe B.

Yelp
Near Lakewood and a part of the outskirts of Little Italy, Il Rione is just fantastic. Packed on a weeknight, we quickly understood the glowing recommendations we received for this restaurant. The vibe was fun and lively and was accentuated by attractive mood lighting. We ordered the white ricotta and hot honey pizza, the green pizza, and the diavolo. The first two pizzas were nothing short of incredible. They are some of the best pizzas I have ever had in the US. The crust, sauces, and cheese all worked so well together. The flavors and ingredients were top tier and made for a great experience. The Diavolo pizza was solid and benefited from fresh ingredients and strong flavors but the other two were just a tier above. I am already counting down the days till when I can return and experience such excellence again.

Antonio P.

Yelp
Overall had a great experience at Il Rione. I think I have seen this place on just about every list of "best pizza in Cleveland", and for a good reason. We ordered a large Diavolo pizza, and it definitely hit the spot. Spicy, but not too spicy, with a good balance of all the ingredients-- including cheese and crust. Toppings didn't overpower the pizza, but it's not like they were skimpy with the toppings either. My only complaint is the crust: about 3/4 of the crust was dense and bready, and 1/4 hard and crunchy-- I prefer a crust with more rise and pillowy texture. The bottom crust was also a little crunchy making it hard to get a good fold. So this is the only place Il Rione loses a star. But the toppings were great, service fast and efficient, and I would happily return for pizza again in the future. If you're in the area and like pizza, you should definitely check it out!

Joe C.

Yelp
If pizza was the last meal before the drones took us out, id ask the drone to first have piece of the Speck pie before annihilating us! The best pizza in Ohio. Even an alien would have mercy on us!

Shawn B.

Yelp
Finally made it to Il Rione. It was every bit as good as we hoped it would be. Watching them Knead the dough & spread it out and put all the fresh ingredients on it was magical. We wanted to try all the pizzas, but we started with Diavolo, next time we want to try either the speck or the sausage A quick helpful head, get there about 10 minutes before they open you'll wait 10 minutes versus much longer as this place was absolutely packed 10 minutes after they opened.

Justin O.

Yelp
You can see the oven and chefs cooking the pizzas right behind the counter. The food comes out fast and hot. The servers were friendly and attentive. Good atmosphere and pizza.

Helen S.

Yelp
Fear not pizza pilgrims, the Edison's pizza experience is back and better than ever with the Il Rione team manning the pizza window. Lil Ronnie's vibe maintains the low key vibes of its former inhabitants, while serving up pizza worthy in a lineup of NYC slices. The menu is simpler fare than Il Rione. The pizza is foldable, greasy, and pure comfort. Yes, you can still get a whole pie here (a large one at that), but you can also get a slice of white pizza with arugula pesto and another slice of pepp with hot honey. Say less, amirite? Ordering will take place through the front entrance for now until they figure out a way to get a point of sale system at the pub window, but they're more than happy to deliver your pizza to the window when it's ready (which was pretty quickly for the slices). And I mean happy - the staff is so pleasant and efficient that you wouldn't know it's the soft launch.

Gregory F.

Yelp
People really hype this place up and I can see why! Was very pleased with both the portion-size and flavors of our sausage pie - a bit flimsy but honestly quality thin-crust pizza is hard to come by in Cleveland so I let it fly. The interior is super cute here - gives off a nice neighborhoodly vibe and was pleased to see it as crowded as it was on that particular night we got takeout. Solid choice by my friend who knows Cleveland's food scene all too well!

Yelp
SO. DELICIOUS. Il Rione has been on my list to try for a very long time and I am so glad I finally got the chance to come eat! Keep in mind they aren't open on Sundays or Mondays :( and they DO NOT take reservations, so if you expect it to get busy... definitely come a little before you actually expect to eat! Fortunately for us, there was no wait on a Tuesday evening so we got sat right away. We ordered two glasses or red wine and a Speck Pie to split! Red wine was not pictured, but the server kindly helped us pick which wine would pair well with our pizza and to our tastes! Now the pizza...... DELICIOUS! It is probably one of my top 10 best pizzas I've had in Cleveland! The Speck pie is a white pie (mozzarella, ricotta, and garlic), with speck, lemon ricotta, pistachio, and hot honey on top! - I also added red pepper flakes! Everything on this pizza worked so well together, not a single piece was left to bring home! I cannot wait to come back to try some of their other pizzas! Thank you Il Rione!!

M F.

Yelp
Tall male waiter was so rude, ruined the entire experience of Il Rione. Ask for a different waiter.

John B.

Yelp
This gem in Gordon Square is worth the wait. We've been here several times, but if you're not at the door when they open you'll likely be met with a wait of an hour or more. This is some of the best pizza I've had and the service won't disappoint either. Any time we're in Cleveland, we try to make our way here. Highly recommend this charming neighborhood pizza joint.

May L.

Yelp
Il Rione has been very popular for pizza in Cleveland and we decided to try for a birthday. The service was subpar, they were not accommodating to a large group since they don't take reservations. Beyond that they seemed frustrated with our requests, which lowered my experience. For the pizzas we got one of each of the premade options. My favorite was the speck and it is a must try if you come! Personally, I found the crust to be too dry, while others at my table enjoyed it. Overall, I would likely come back with a smaller group but would still be wary.

Emily S.

Yelp
There is always a wait here but they text you when ready. Very noisy and crowded but fast and great service. This is how to make a thin crust pizza!! I wish they would bring back the clam pizza!!!

Raymond B.

Yelp
Best Pizza in the World! I would drive from Detroit to Cleveland again just to eat this Pizza again.Cool vibe also & dipping it in warm honey is a game changer! DON'T CHANGE

Marcia F.

Yelp
The restaurant was on fire tonight all the tables occupied! I ordered a small half pepperoni/half sausage with Calabrian Chiles to take home. This pizza was perfect, great thin pizza, light airy crust. The flavor so amazing a little salty but I have a low tolerance for salty foods anyway it was delicious. Transplant from; Brooklyn NY, Belleville NJ and now Cleveland, so I know great pizza and this place is it. A must try!

Jan L.

Yelp
Great pizzas, great atmosphere, I loved the aesthetic and vibes of this place. The pizzas arrived in a timely manner and our server was efficient.

Gem P.

Yelp
First time in yesterday and Il Rione did not disappoint. I'm very much a fan of New York and Neapolitan style pizza and this place is just quality. The speck pizza is complete perfection, we weren't able to dine in as we had to head home early for the pets but I can't wait to come back and get the full experience. It's a neighborhood gem hitting in all the right places. Delicious pizza, dare I say best I've had in the last 5 years!

Jessica S.

Yelp
This place is worth the hype 100%. Small so expect a wait but promise it's worth it. Lots of spots around to grab a drink while you wait (recommend Flight or Wyne). Staff is always friendly. Recommend starting with a salad. #balance but they are really good. Perfectly dressed and very fresh. My husband and I shared two smalls and we had leftovers. The crust is perfectly crisp. The sauce is excellent. Cheese. Toppings. All of it. So good.

Aim H.

Yelp
Was visiting Cleveland for the first time and had to come here to get a taste of the hype. We ordered the speck and sausage pie. Both were good, you can't go wrong. If I had to recommend one, I preferred the speck. Its flavors reminded me of a charcuterie board but pizza form with hot honey. We came here towards the end night so we had no problem getting a table. The pizzas are also thin so they were easy to eat without feeling too full.

Rachel M.

Yelp
Delicious! Some of the best pizza in Cleveland. We had to wait a bit because they don't take reservations, but we grabbed a drink across the street. We were a group of five and were at a table meant for four, but so worth it for the delicious drinks and pizza. We ordered a large pizza and two smalls for five people and it was more than enough. All three of the pizzas we tried were so good, but we especially loved the speck and the green pizza. Will be back!

Marlena K.

Yelp
Ahhhh this place hits the spot. The vibes are unmatched and the food is perfection. If you are lucky enough to have MARCUS make your cocktail you would not be let down. His drinks and knowledge of cocktails are nothing short of amazing. I'm a big fan of the green pizza but I have tried the margarita and marinara and honestly you can't go wrong with any of them. The salads are delicious and the drinks are top notch. I love this place, hands down!

Pam Pam G.

Yelp
Il Rione is often referred to as the best pizza in Cleveland and it did not disappoint. My boyfriend and I came on a Saturday evening expecting to wait up to two hours for a seat, but we were seated within 20 min. The restaurant is located right by Edgewater, so we took a nice stroll while we waited. Il Rione has patio seating out back that I would HIGHLY recommend. They keep their garden so cute and they have their iconic bicycle fountain out there. The food was also delicious. We ordered the Speck pie off the suggested menu because it looked the most unique. The slices itself were a bit too greasy and floppy for my liking, but the flavors were delicious. I loved the lemon they add to the Speck. The prices are also pretty reasonable. Overall, lovely experience and would definitely come back.

Annie G.

Yelp
Everyone had said this was the best pizza in town so we decided to give it a try. We got there at 6:30 pm on Friday night and were told it would he an hour and 15 min. Bar is first come first serve. There were a lot of people outside waiting. We got seats at the bar after 45 min and they didn't end up calling us for a table until 8 pm. The bartender is awesome - makes a mean aperol spritz. My boyfriend got the Manhattan and a margarita, he liked both. I got the arugula salad to start - yum! The dressing really pulls this salad together. We split the green pie and the diavolo for our meal. Fair warning the diavolo is very spicy. The green pie was flavorful and light so I didn't feel too full after. Service was good and attentive. It's a cute spot - ambiance is nice, they make the pizzas in front of you basically. Reason for 4 stars is truly having to wait so long. This place is great but in my opinion it's not worthy of waiting an hour and a half for a table. I recommend going during the week or getting take out (if you can get through).

Gabriella A.

Yelp
Some of the best pizza in cleveland!! Highly recommend the margherita pizza and the green pie. Great indoor and outdoor seating, perfect location in Gordon Square, and friendly service. Would definitely recommend stopping by if you're in Cleveland.

Gus T.

Yelp
This is the best pizza I can remember ever having. The interior is nice, simple and clean yet interesting and has character. The people were great-the bartender (I think she was an owner perhaps) was lovely. They had Siouxsie and the Banshees playing, I had a great, crisp German wheat beer as we waited for our pie. Ten/Ten-I wish I lived near by. Do your self a favor and eat here.

Renee B.

Yelp
Our go to place for pizza and salads. Love the flavors in the Il Rione salad and the Diavolo pie is our favorite. Service is amazing but you can expect to wait for a table during peak times. Get a negroni and wait, it's well worth it.

Shannon S.

Yelp
New York-style pizza in Cleveland?!....I'm all for it. I've had Il Rione on my list for a little while, so I was looking forward to it when I made dinner plans one weeknight. It's a cute spot near Gordon Square with dim lighting, dark wood accents, a visually appealing bar, open kitchen, and a lively but cozy atmosphere. They don't take reservations, so keep in mind that you might have to wait a bit once you put your name and number down with the hostess. We were seated at a table against the wall, which had a nice bar and kitchen view. We order two glasses of red wine to start -- highly recommend the 2020 Cloudline Pinot Noir. It was light and a little tart -- perfectly paired with our pizza. We got two small pizzas to share, and it was plenty of food for the two of us. We definitely got to-go boxes. We had the speck pie and the green pie. Both were hot, melty, & rich in flavor, with a perfectly crisp yet foldable thin crust. It was absolutely delicious! I'm still thinking about the garlicky, tangy, & fresh arugula pesto on the green pie! Overall, we had a lovely evening at Il Rione. I felt like I was transported to a romantic gem of a restaurant in East Village (NYC). It may not be ideal for big groups given the relatively small dining area and lack of advanced reservations, but I would definitely return. It's perfect for date night or getting together with one or a few friends. Also...I have my eye on the margherita pizza to try next time.

Kate S.

Yelp
If I could eat here every night I would. Best pizza ever. They don't take reservations and there is usually an hour wait but it is well worth it!

Emily Z.

Yelp
So the food is great. But the wait and then the outdoor seating.... It leant to quite the trouble for a summer day and ordering hot honey on the side. Mosquito city. Felt like I was more focused on eating ANYTHING instead of actually enjoying the pizza.

Hannamarie N.

Yelp
If you love thin, New York Style pizza, this is the place for you! I love Il Rione and the overall atmosphere (I also love the look and aesthetic of the building). The service is great and always friendly! My favorite pizza is the margherita and the speck pie is absolutely delicious... The lemon ricotta and hot honey combo has me dreaming about this pizza for days after. I could recommend getting there early especially if you have a bigger party! This place is definitely loved (shout out to Kevin Love of the Cleveland Cavaliers) so it fills up quickly.

Penelope H.

Yelp
I will definitely be back soon. Still on my quest to find amazing pizza, and my oh my does Il Rione deliver. They do not take reservations. Street parking. Our party of four was quickly seated a large table with bench and chair seating on a Saturday night. The main dining area is dimly lit, loud music, busy atmosphere. You can watch the pizza assembly line. They have additional seating down the hall. We ordered a house salad (romaine, balsamic vinaigrette, goat cheese, roasted sunflower seeds, and fried capers) to share. Enough for two. Nicely dressed. Great texture. They ran out of large pies, as they precut the dough. We decided to order two smalls. We got a (1) margarita and (2) margarita with Calabrian chilis and gaeta olives. Sauce was not too sweet. Crust was extremely thin. Edges were pillowy and soft. Cheese melted just right. Just enough toppings. Calabrian chilis burst in your mouth with spice. Nice selection of cocktails, wine and beer. Who wants to join me for my next visit??

Michele B.

Yelp
Finally. Dad heard about this place several years ago while he was driving Uber and it's been on his wish list for seriously 4 years. Random Thursday evening I picked him up to finally give it a try. What a lovely atmosphere. The front room was dim and full- I'm always so happy to see a local establishment thriving. There's not much space to wait at the front, but we got a table right away and we're escorted to the room in the back. We loved the live-edge tables, open kitchen, vaulted ceiling, stained glass windows. So much charm and history I grabbed a Hefe and started with the house salad. Simple, delicious. Crunchy romaine, great dressing. I loved the fried capers!! Yum Dad chose the sausage pie and we both loved it. I'm not really a pizza sausage fan, but he was very pleased. This pizza was the thinnest crust I'd ever seen, but was a very large pie. It was plenty for the two of us. The red sauce is what really stood out for me. Nice and authentic, rich tomato flavor. The service was very friendly. I thought the prices were reasonable. Bathroom clean. Their menu boasts so many pies I would try, we can't wait to go back.

Maricar G.

Yelp
Acclaimed best pizza in CLE? You have my vote! Thank you to the many reviews commenting on the popularity of this spot: was still busy on a Tuesday evening and yes parking was a biotch. Place was small and cozy (very dark but also romantic) and yes packed. We had about half hour wait, waitress took our phone number and just called us when our table was ready. Unfortunately Stone Mad Pub literally across the street was closed that day so we had to wait in the car cause it was raining. I love that this place offers half half pizza and yea we did. Between me and my fiancée we ordered two large pizzas (one red sauce and one white sauce) both half half of the suggested pies. White pie: half Speck and half Roseanna. I think I will always remember this pizza place for the Speck. It's sweet and savory at the same time, almost like both a meal and a dessert at the same time. Very unique blend of flavors and textures (pistachios, lemon ricotta, hot honey). I would definitely recommend. The Roseanna was almost like a salad pizza, very generous helping of arugula on top, but you get some protein and and onion to balance it out. Tasty tasty Red pie: half green pie and half diavolo pie. Green pie turned out to be my favorite of the night. The bold stripes of arugula pesto, fried sage leaves and basil made for refreshing mouth experience. All atop that sweet and savory red sauce! You're killing me il rione! That was flavor perfection for me. Can't leave out that diavolo. Wow that spicy salami was the spiciest meat topping I've ever had on a pizza. It wasn't like grab a glass a milk and save me but decent spice level. Bravo! This place gets super busy and take out is always an option but I would recommend eating there so you get it fresh. Just not the same when you reheat at home.

Koa H.

Yelp
Probably the best pizza in Cleveland. Crust is thin and crispy like a warm cracker and the sauce is savory with a subtle tone of sweetness. Ultimate deliciousness. The restaurant is a cool space as well, an old brick warehouse with very old rustic walls of crumbling original concrete. It has a bustling vibe with a pizza oven, a bar and a dining room sharing the same space. Super fun place to eat!

Caroline R.

Yelp
This might be the most underrated pizza in Cleveland. I enjoyed the crust (makes or breaks the pizza in my opinion) and they have a variety of speciality toppings with some much to choose from. The first time I went they weren't able to accommodate a large party (it's a small place). The tables are close together but I don't think they can help that. The second time I went I enjoyed the food and service.

Victoria W.

Yelp
For sure the best pizza in Cleveland!! I've seen many raving reviews about Il Rione and was excited to see if the restaurant would live up to its hype. If you're thinking about coming here either go early when they first open or be prepared for a long wait. My friend and I waited for about 30 minutes before getting a table. There is no seating area in the restaurant since it is pretty tightly packed, so we went across the street to wait at the bar across the street. We befriended another group of people at the bar who were also waiting for a table at Il Rione, so if everyone was willing to wait, then the restaurant must be good. Once we got our table, the service was pretty pleasant. The host and waiter were all extremely friendly and efficient. We ordered half green pie and half sausage pie. The ingredients were very fresh, and It was a pretty large pizza. We had left overs with 2 people. The pizza was so good, and honestly, if our stomachs could fit more we definitely would have finished the entire pizza. I definitely would come back again and would recommend others to go try.

Jan W.

Yelp
Enjoyed the margherita pizza and arugula salad. Bees knees is strong. Kind of busy but was able get table to two with no wait

Marie S.

Yelp
Il Rione is without a doubt the best pizza in Cleveland. I have had pizza from here twice. The first time, I got the margherita and the speck pie for carry-out and traveled with my pizzas to a friend's house. By the time I got to her place, the pizza was cold, and it was still delicious. We literally couldn't process how good it was, and it wasn't even hot! More recently, I was invited to dine-in at Il Rione by another friend. We were seated immediately and decided to split a sausage pie and a green pie. It took quite a while for our pizza to arrive and we were so hungry by the time it got to us that we ate it all in less than 10 minutes. Unsurprisingly, the pizza is even better when it is hot. I love how the pizzas are unique but also customizable, and their mozzarella is so good. Long story short, Il Rione pizza is amazing. If you haven't tried it, it's worth the wait!

Allison J.

Yelp
One of our favorite pizza joints. The decor is trendy and rustic. Service is always quick and friendly. Pizza is Ny ish style. Sometimes it's a bit charred. We love the vibes and how big and fresh the pies are.

Jacqueline T.

Yelp
My husband loves pizza and it's what he wanted for his birthday. A friend recommended this spot to us so when we were in town visiting my parents, it was my husband's choice for his birthday meals. My parents, husband, and I shared: - Meat & Cheese Plate - Speck Pie (large) - Half Diavolo/Half Green Pie (large) The pizzas are really good. The speck pie was definitely my favorite. I love lemon on a pizza and that with the hot honey and pistachios was a great combo. I'd recommend getting a large and splitting it between two people. It's the right amount of food and you save a lot of money over getting two smalls.

Yelp
My wife and I rarely argue--but there is one topic that has historically driven us close to the point of terminal turmoil: Il Rione. She went once (before we met), and claims they served her burnt, piddling quality pizza. I was astounded to hear this because on the two occasions that I'd been there, the quality was impeccable. Surely her experience had been a one-off, I thought. After several months of pleading and trying to convince her that her experience was not a representative one, she finally consented to come back with me. To put it succinctly, I expect I'll be sleeping on the couch for the foreseeable future. The drinks and salad were great, but it went downhill when the pizza showed up. It was somehow both wet and burnt, a feat that deserves an accolade for chemical engineering if not for cooking. There was one particular slice with more burnt surface area than actual pizza. Unfortunately I had not overdosed on salicylates prior to dinner, so I could not justify ingesting this amount of activated charcoal. Overall it was a pity, because the base flavor combination of the pie was not half bad at all. I'm not sure if Il Rione is genuinely inconsistent or if they just hate my wife (which might be justified, who knows), but after this experience we will probably be looking for a different pizza place to argue about.

Yelp
Great pie! While we were waiting for our table, we watch a large pizza delivered to a couple of guys at the bar. We watch them finish it and just thought maybe they were hungry. It's a big pie. We got to our table, ordered the large and finished it along with our salads. Thin crust but beefy around the edge. Looking forward to going back.

Yelp
Visit here every time I come back to Cleveland. Nestled in Tremont neighborhood, there hasn't been a pizza place that's come close to this restarting. Always quick and friendly service. Simple menu with savory bites and thin crust pizza. Speck pie is the go to!

Yelp
Second time trying this place the first time they told us that they were close due to a private party, and there was no way we can order pizza to go even though we saw people taking orders out .... Very fishy but my boyfriend was convinced on going So this is the official First time trying this place the ambiance is very cute nice available space for large party's Service the hostess and bartender was very attentive and welcoming but once we sat down THAT ALL CHANGED the server was extremely weird. Constantly spilling water all over the place with an regard to my phone no aplogizes nada Now to the food the pizza we give 3 out of 5 the crust lacked flavor and my margarita pizza was burnt

Yelp
Absolutely worth the wait. Top two pizzas I have ever had. Great indoor atmosphere and great service. You have to try the speck pizza. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
I still consider this to be the best pizza in town, but their popularity has shrunk the large and small pizzas with the same prices. New large fit in my car. All in all, great bar, great staff, great pizza. Just not the biggest pizzas they used to be. People come from far away to eat this pizza. white cheese pizza with no add ons is worth the twenty bucks.
