The Guide To Affordable Eating in Beverly Hills

"At first glance, Il Tramezzino appears to be yet another bland Italian sidewalk cafe. And that’s exactly what it is. The menu is full of your typical Mediterranean salads and penne pastas, but you’re here for the chicken panini. For $12.95, you get a perfect chicken panini that’s filled with sun-dried tomatoes, avocado, provolone, and a life-altering garlic basil sauce." - brant cox

We have been regular at this cafe for over 20 years now. Chicken Special and Veggie Special are our go to Paninis here - The pesto Garlic sauce that they put in their paninis is the secret ingredient that takes their paninis to next level. Service is efficient and the vibe is casual here. I also recommend to get their Tiramisus which are great too. Everytime we are in the Bev Hills area - we make every effort to stop by here. It's a classic that has survived the test of time !

Google
Il Tramezzino is a cute spot! The paninis are straight fire—crispy, loaded with flavor, and so delish. We had the grilled breast of chicken panini and it was awesome! The salads are super fresh, we had the strawberry arugula salad with chicken and it was the perfect mix of sweet and savory. Perfect for a chill hangout or quick bite. Definitely worth the hype. You gotta give it a try!

This has been our spot for over 15 years and it is the best. Food is amazing and the service is superior. Simon is stellar and really takes care of his customers like they are family. I highly recommend our favorite go to spot to everyone !!

Google
SCAM!!!!! ORDERED FROM UBER EATS AND COFFEE WAS MISSING . The crossaint I ordered vs the crossaint I got……. The panini was so hard i couldnt even eat it. Despicable how they scam you

LOVED our meal here!!! The food was so incredible. I’ve never had pasta that tasted so good. It came out so fast. I ordered the Penne Lorenzo but split it in half to share with my dining mate and the portion ended up being perfect! You get a lot for a modest price. Our waiter was so incredibly kind and very attentive. He made my night with our conversation! We sat outside and it was a wonderful atmosphere. You’re right by Rodeo Drive and in the heart of Beverly Hills. It was a great dining experience through and through.

Google
I love this location! When i lived in BH especially i would coke 3-4 times a week. the chicken special is a staple item and has been for over 10 years. the extra pesto sauce on the side is a must! i like mine without the sun dried tomatoes and they always make it easy to remove them. The cobb salad as well is my favorite. Overall 5/5 and the owner/ manager there is an amazing man and is always so helpful. i almost forgot the nutella croissant is insane and i usually add strawberries too!

Google
This is a great lunch spot! They offer amazing paninis with a great variety of meat, cheese and veggie options. Paninis are certainly their specialty, and it paired well with the tomato soup. They also have a ton of salad options. I believe they offer around 24 different salads. As you can see in the picture, they do not hold back on the protein. II Tramezzino’s pasta is also quite good, but I definitely prefer the paninis. I will be coming back here again as there are a lot of items l’d like to try.

Yelp
I was in this restaurant for the first time, the service was fast and the food was delicious. The best panini I have ever had.

Yelp
Panini sandwiches: The star of the menu. These sandwiches are known for their fresh ingredients, especially the flavorful spreads and high-quality meats. Popular varieties include chicken pesto, turkey avocado, and prosciutto with mozzarella. Service is quick and very nice. Server even got me pickles after knowing I am Armenian. Great experience.

Yelp
Il Tram transported me back to Italy! We went here for the panini and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Chicken Special, which was the first panini listed on the menu of around two dozen panini choices. Even though it doesn't say it has pesto, this is the same sandwich people are talking about when they mention 'chicken pesto panini' in their Yelp reviews. It has chicken breast (not deli meat), sun dried tomatoes, provolone cheese, avocado and a basil garlic sauce all pressed between an Italian baguette. It def didn't look like your usual American-ish panini sandwich and was more like what you'd get in a cafe in Italy. My companion ordered the Parma Prosciutto Classico which had cured ham, bufala mozzarella, roma tomato and fresh basil. The prosciutto was first rate and delicious. They import many of their desserts from Milan, and we chose to get a slice of tiramisu. It was a large piece for sharing and super delicious. The owner really talked it up and it lived up to expectations! We'll def be back when we want that chill ambiance and delicious panini. I'd love to try their veggie panini as there are many veg choices. Parking is easy (yay!) as there is a City of BH lot directly across the street by Wally's. Two hours of free parking, no validation needed. It's the same parking lot that connects Canon Drive (where Il Tram is located) with Beverly Drive, so you could park there and walk through to the other side to visits the other shops there easily without having to repark.

Yelp
Casual cafe in Beverly Hills. Great selection of Salas and paninis. The portion size is pretty big too. Right on the corner of Santa Monica but not too busy during the afternoon. Pretty small on the inside but has outside seating as well. They do charge for hot water which was interesting.

Yelp
Food is okay, not the best. Location is good, thats why i give 2 stars not 1 star. But the staff is very rude, i didnt like it, would never come back.

Yelp
The chicken special is one of my favorite sandwiches of all time. The service is fast and super friendly. Somehow one of the waiters remembered me from the first time I came and now always say good to see you again. That is so rare these days! Unfortunately I can never remember his name!! He always asks if I want a refill of my iced tea to go which is just above and beyond. Needless to say service is A+, super attentive, speedy, and friendly. I Brought my picky friend last time and now she also can't stop talking about the chicken special. Salads are great too.

Yelp
First off, let me state by I used to love coming here for a quick bite. Unfortunately today was the last straw for me. I came here with family to grab lunch and waited for our food as we placed our order. We would ask the waiter for water, bread and noticed he kept forgetting and had to be reminded a few times but we thought nothing of it. After 20 minutes of waiting, we asked our server if our food would be ready soon and he said he'd check on it right away. After another 10 minutes, he comes back and says "I forgot to place your order. I'm sorry what was it that you ordered again?" My family and I were shocked and flabbergasted. The lack of compassion and care for making a mistake left us extremely disappointed. We asked for the manager and he said there was none on site. For a restaurant to provide such poor and unprofessional service was astonishing. Needless to say we got up and left and ate elsewhere. Shame on the waiter for his lack of incompetence and service.

Yelp
This place is probably our new go-to before a show at the Wallis because they were fast, relatively cheap for the area it's in, and convenient. The woman who seems to manage the place is very nice but our server seemed to be a little grouchy (we had to ask for water twice and even then he never gave all of us water, just three of us, when I saw he brought another table water plus a pitcher...) Cutlery and sharing plates also came late, so I don't know, maybe it was an off-day or something.... Food was really good! Fresh and flavorful. One of the top paninis I've ever had. Bread was not soggy despite all the beautiful basil garlic sauce they put on it. Bruschetta was perfectly oiled. The only downside was the Caesar salad was pretty basic, the croutons seemed store-bought which was disappointing considering the quality of all the other ingredients. Not complaining too much if it helps them keep their cost down since this is one of the few non-fast food places with food choices under $20 around here.

Yelp
Great paninis, friendly service, good menu, but a little over-priced. Convenient location and parking across the street.

Yelp
Chicken pesto is delicious and their strawberry banana desert is a must. Friendly service too.

Yelp
I'm literally a lifelong customer of Il Tramezzino -- seriously, I've been coming here for as long as I can remember, and their food is truly some of the best. Their chicken special panini is the way to go for any first-timer...what's not to love about a perfect chicken pesto sandwich? And for dessert, their pressed Nutella and fruit croissants (and their cannolis) are crave-worthy, to say the least. Plus they often offer half-sandwich and salad lunch combos and other dine-in specials. Overall a great place to go for a quick lunch or dinner in the middle of the city!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent. Consistent. Delicious!! I've been coming to this restaurant for at least 20 years and it is my absolute favorite Panini place. The bread is perfect - fresh, crisp and smashed. They are generous with the chicken, the avocado and the sun-dried tomatoes. This is the perfect Panini!! And the team is always warm & friendly. A++ café!!
google avatar

Yelp
Food was terrible, cheap ingredients, not gourmet. Don't waste your time or money. . Croutons on the salad was store bought, chicken on the salad is packaged. Got a Salmon dish "it was cold too! Will not go back or recommend. Hard Pass

Holly A.

Yelp
My husband and I have been eating here since childhood and although the foods good the service is ZERO. We have never eaten chicken from this resturant our whole life. Tonight I ordered over the phone and asked for TUNA like I have been for the past 20 years... they gave us chicken. The man over the phone put in my order wrong. I called back to explain to them that it's wrong and chicken isn't even in my vocabulary. All they did was offer me a credit. Offering me a credit is bad enough, but DO NOT accuse me of ordering chicken when I have never ordered chicken from this establishment my entire life. The man over the phone took my order wrong and instead of apologizing he accused me of ordering the wrong sandwhich and hung up on me. DO BETTER.

Yelp
I enjoyed the outdoor environment and menu choices. The food and service were excellent.

Yelp
1st time eating at this location I'm a regular at the studio city location . It was very tasty and delicious.

Yelp
You really can't beat the chicken special. It's probably the best Panini in the world.!!!
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants!! Great service very kind and welcoming staff. I love the flavors of both sandwiches, their hot sauce is very spicy so make sure to be careful. their portions are very big and very good prices. It's a very cute small restaurant if you want something flavorful but still fast and affordable in beverly hills. definitely worth a try!

Yelp
My kids love graving a quick snack/lunch from here when we're in Beverly Hills. My fav is the veggie panini and they love the chicken pesto. Nice place and they don't make you feel rushed.
google avatar

Rod M.

Yelp
Nice looking Italian style cafe. Chopped salads and panini sandwiches are the focus of the menu. Fresh ingredients and simplicity is what the pseudo European ristorante is about. They have plenty of choices, mix and match dressings, proteins and cheeses. Coffee Italian style of course, enjoy your cappuccino or Macchiato with a Nutella stuffed waffle or a slice of Tiramisu. While I don't think they bake the bread of make most things from scratch, it's all very fresh and tastes great. Expect to pay a bit extra as the location is an automatic price gouger. What makes this place special and so wonderful is that it's been running under the care of the same GM for over 20 years, Laurence F. may not be the original creator but he loves the place like it was his own.
google avatar

Yelp
Been coming here for two years and to this day I LOVE this place. The woman that works the cashier is the best! She is quick to service and quick to check out! The male servers... not so much. Last time I went to this place my food came without any silverware but the owner quickly noticed and fixed it for my boyfriend and I, how attentive of him! Although the male servers don't really check up or offer bread or anything, the woman and the owner always do so I'm gonna keep the 5 stars, their small gestures make up for it all.

Francine A.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were in a rush and wanted to eat something good but fast. We were walking down the street in Beverly Place and found Tramezzino. We got 2 dishes with bread. It was good for pasta but needed more flavor and salt. It was lacking a bit of flavor profile. The servers were nice and I loved the vibes inside.

Alicia A.

Yelp
We ordered two tramezzino's (salami option and the turkey option) both were great! They were bigger than expected and honestly would make a great snack if you weren't hungry enough for a full size sandwich. Also got the Firenze panini and it was fantastic! I ordered take out online and even the two gentlemen that helped me at the counter were really nice. Passion fruit Iced tea and Arnold Palmer were also great as well. I think I found my new go to sandwich spot (:

Alex ..

Yelp
Amazing customer service, food, and atmosphere. The staff are always so friendly and I feel like it's my second home as I have been a regular for a while now. Highly recommend the Penne Arrabaita and the Nutella Croissant.

Robert R.

Yelp
There are all kinds of restaurants in Beverly Hills and most of them are mediocre and overpriced. So it is with enormous pleasure that I tell you about the best kept secret in town. Il Tramezzino is a cool, little italian place, tucked just off Santa Monica on Canon and it's the best find in the area. The menu is large, everything is really good, the prices are half what other surrounding restaurants charge and best of all, the staff and management treat you like family. Don't tell anyone about this place. It'll get too crowded. Or better still, hurry over. They're waiting for you
google avatar

Matthew N.

Yelp
One of my favorite sandwich places on the Westside. For parking, please go to the many parking garages in the area. There should be one right about a block away and they will give you 2 hrs free. Inside the restaurant is a little cramped, but overall it's clean and the staff are very friendly. My go-to sandwich here is the Firenze and it's just perfect. The bread is always perfectly toasted, yet not too hard and they give a good portion. The turkey isn't overly dry and the chipotle sauce and avocado gives everything a nice creaminess and richness. It's one of my favorite sandwiches of all time tbh. The price is a little steep, but it's def worth it once in a while
google avatar

Matt H.

Yelp
Il Tramezzino has been here for decades and it's easy to see why. The chicken special panini is really something and it's nice to be able to park for free on Canon above Santa Monica Blvd and then walk down. But the service is really where this place shines. Our waiter was perfectly attentive and super-gracious. It felt like being at a really good restaurant in a small town that punches above its weight. Somewhere like Charlottesville -- where you get the sophistication and deliciousness of a city along with the friendliness of the country. It doesn't seem like it could have lasted this long in LA, but I'm so glad it has!
google avatar

Christina H.

Yelp
Delicious! Consistently good food and we love their sandwiches. Get their spicy aioli on the side, it's so good.
google avatar

Nathan C.

Yelp
Don't bother ordering take out within 30 minutes of closing - they will just cancel your order after they accept it.

Nicole S.

Yelp
Not only does Il Tram have decades long worth of consistent and delicious food, their customer service is incredible. Laurence is truly wonderful to work with for Catering: he went out of his way to make things happen for my sons bday party and he is just a wonderful human. I highly recommend everyone to get Catering from Il Tram and frequent their restaurant! Class act!
google avatar

Jessica K.

Yelp
The yummiest and most affordable Italian spot in Beverly Hills! I cannot say enough good things about this place. Our server was friendly and kind. The food was delicious, well priced, and ready fast. The portion sizes were generous. A great spot for lunch or dinner!
google avatar

Tiffany T.

Yelp
Delicious paninis! Great for a quick bite for lunch while shopping in BH. The chicken special is popular for a reason, and definitely my favorite. The tomato soup pairs well with it, and the combo (1/2 sandwich and 1/2 soup) is a great deal with a generous portion of of soup that is served very hot, just the way I like it!
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered over the phone at 11:53 on 7/18. The woman taking my order was unknowledgeable, unaccommodating, rude and obnoxious. My wife is pregnant. Pregnant women can't have unpasteurized cheese. I asked if the Brie was pasteurized and the woman became enraged. She proclaimed to me that "nothing is pasteurized. It's not like the cheese comes from a farm each morning." I asked for her to please check with the kitchen. She pushed back. "Why do you need to know this?" Again, I asked her to please check with the kitchen, explaining, again, that my wife was pregnant. She ultimately informed me that the cheese was pasteurized and quickly ended the call. When I went to pick up the order, she was rude again. This is the last person I would ever want representing my brand. I won't be coming back because of her. I'm sure this isn't the first time she's lost customers.

Charleen S.

Yelp
The yummiest paninis ever! Their pesto is unlike any other. It's literally magical. Every item on their menu is unbelievably delicious! Trust me you need to try their chicken special panini with extra pesto on the side. I'm addicted to that one and the Firenze. Also their Nutella panini and all their desserts are Soo yummy! Rick is the nicest guy he always takes care of everyone there. The ambiance is also great.

Yelp
well hot damn... how have i never been here?! this place is bananas. the food is straight fire, the service is crazy good (one server actually sat down with a guest for a few minutes... i think she must be a regular). the menu is overwhelming and delicious. i had the siena. soooo good. the kick was what made it all worthwhile. the companion had the "grilled breast of chicken" aka chicken special. we got one each to share, yet ironically as we both took a bite of the other's neither of us was blown away like we were with our own. so we switched back. also got a caesar salad. they're normally par for the course. never great, never bad... just a caesar. but this was really actually really tasty! the iced vanilla latte was a little too sweet, but the fun part of that was that it tasted like a shake. hahaha. so it was dessert also. the sparkling water brand was also really yummy. the only thing that bummed me out was the limited seating. rent has to be a fortune there so i get it, but they probably have people that leave due to wait time. if you're short on time, i suggest you pick a panini up, cross the street and secretly eat on the crate and barrel patio furniture on the walkway. don't miss out on a great sandwich due to lack of seating. xx

Stephanie C.

Yelp
The food is ok, nothing special. The one thing that was very annoying is that I got wrongly charged (one kid pasta at 8.95 and the second one at 10.95..???!?!) and when I asked for an adjustment the waiter went to a senior waiter(or the owner) and this person started to complain and make faces. The waiter came back to us with an adjusted bill but with an explanation on why they were supposed to charge us more(really?!?). It made NO sense. Also at the end when I was checking to leave the tip I realized that they automatically already charged a 18% gratuity fee (we were only 3 persons). Definitely I do NOT recommend this place
google avatar

Maria L.

Yelp
Amazing food with big portions, reasonable prices, and fast service! I've had enough expensive food in LA that just taste meh so this place was a nice breath of fresh air. We arrived in the area for a different restaurant down the street but the wait was going to be 45 mins so we came here because this place has no lines. I had low expectations coming in and was blown away by the quality of the food. Easily one of the best Italian meals in a long while for me and probably the best panini ever! I love that they also had quick service and reasonable prices. What more can I ask for. This is probably my favorite restaurant I checked out during my 10 day trip in LA. Thank you restaurant for the awesome experience!
google avatar

Kate H.

Yelp
this is my go to date spot for a laid back but still delicious meal!! i always get the sandwich combo which is a great portion of food and everything is always amazing and high quality. service couldn't be better the staff are attentive and kind and never complain about modifications which I really appreciate! can't wait to come in for lunch soon!

Tl B.

Yelp
Friendly, fast service! I went on my lunch break and it was reasonably priced, I was sat immediately and greeted immediately. The servers seemed to have a 'teamwork' system. My server was at another table and another server asked if I needed anything and brought me more tea. And the food was great! Great experience would eat here again!
google avatar

Ira M.

Yelp
Solid restaurant all around. Great combo plate with panini & salad. Will definitely come back!
google avatar

Natalie A.

Yelp
Maybe the best panini I've ever had IN. MY. LIFE. Went to @iltramezzino in Beverly Hills and this place is simply PERFECT I ordered the combo for lunch which is a half chicken special Panini and a Caesar salad. The pesto that comes in the Panini is probably the best thing I've ever tasted in my life so creamy, the ingredients were very fresh and the plate itself was made perfectly. I think I could eat this every single day 100% check this out Chicken Special Panini and Caesar Salad Combo: $15.95
google avatar

Sydney R.

Yelp
Had the chicken pesto panini food was perfect very flavorful. The service was even better friendly happy staff I left in a great mood.
google avatar

Alice W.

Yelp
This place is sooooooo good! Considering it's in Beverly Hills the prices are amazing and the food quality and selection are amazing! Service is always so nice and friendly and quick! I alway get a soup and sandwich and it hasn't disappointed yet!

Mike W.

Yelp
Food is good. However, I must say, when ordering delivery and getting soup, they use STYROFOAM cups! Styrofoam chemicals can leach into the food of non solid food and is carcinogen. Highly recommend moving away from Styrofoam into safer containers.
google avatar

Sean S.

Yelp
Got the chicken special without sun dried tomatoes and added mushrooms. Bomb. Highly recommend. A little cholula and pesto sauce on the side. Thank me later.
google avatar

Shan S.

Yelp
Chicken special sandwich is the most important order here. Actually no the torshi is Il tram has been a staple in Beverly Hills and is a place to go for a quick lunch or late night bite with friends! They put paninis on the map. And don't even get me started with that pesto mayo -- wow.
google avatar

Jenn C.

Yelp
I agree with many other reviewers that the chicken special panini is the highlight - crispy bread, sun dried tomatoes, avocado, creamy pesto sauce. Delicious! They even give you a side of extra sauce if you want to add more to your sandwich. I also had the kale salad which was good but I didn't think it needed the onions; I felt like the onions clashed with the sweet dates in the salad so I picked them out. The paninis are where they clearly excel here and I will be coming back for more!
