Imo's Pizza

We stopped in to try the thin cracker crust St Louis is known for! We are from Pittsburgh PA and on a weekend fun trip and we were blown away with the pizza and toppings!!! Hands-down best pizza we’ve ever had!! The toppings were so fresh, full length slices of bacon too, on the supreme pizza!! If you’re in downtown St Louis, it’s a must!!!! We’d give it 10 stars if we could !! Keep up the fantastic job !!!

Great location that it’s next to the city museum but the toasted ravioli and the butter cake was nothing special and you probably can get better from small businesses. I wish I tried the pizza but I was by myself and I didn’t want to over order.

We're from Michigan and visited the city museum on a road trip. The parking lot attendant recommended Imo's to us when we asked if he knew a good place to eat. This was hands down the worst pizza that I've ever had. We ordered 3 lunch special pizzas and a cruchimo that was advertised as buffalo chicken. The toppings on our pizzas were basically non existent. We're not convinced the buffalo chicken was actually chicken. If this is what St. Louis believes to be good pizza I feel sorry for your city!

It was nice trying out a STL pizza staple. My boys wouldn't ever choose it as one kept asking " Where is the crust?" So we are more Detroit style as our favorite with them New York style over STL or even Columbus style pizza. I personally liked the cracker crust as a change of pace pizza. The cheese was good but didn't wow me. My kids did enjoy eating it cold later in the day. The quesonacho or whatever the one dish was called was a hit. It was very cheesy. The toasted ravioli was good but not something I would go out of my way for. Great service here and I enjoyed being able to sit and relax after 3 hours at The city Museum.

We used to live downtown and have Imo's delivered all the time. They were always fast and the food was fresh and delicious. Today we stopped for lunch and ate at the store for the first time. Everything was great!

Great pizza. Never had St Louis style pizza before, but I like it! Great service and atmosphere. Chose this location to avoid ball game traffic.

Pizza, Wings, mozzarella sticks were amazing. They delivered to downtown St Louis when no one else would. I felt bad for the driver he was afraid to get out of the car because it was such a bad area that our hotel was in

We were excited to try St. Louis pizza, and it was very good. The cheese wasn't my favorite but I'm not a fan of Swiss and you can definitely taste it. But it was served hot and fresh, great crunchy crust. And the toasted ravioli were delicious! Good prices too. Customer service was super bland, the young girl behind the counter had zero people skills. Overall I'm glad we stopped in for some local fare!

If you enjoy thin-crust (tavern style) pizza, definitely come here and give this place a try. I'm surprised to see that they have such low ratings, but my husband and I enjoyed our meal. We ordered a pie with pepperoni and black olives, toasted ravioli (a local favorite, or so I've heard), and some bbq wings. I didn't eat the wings, so I can't tell you about them, but the pizza was cheesy with a crispy crust, and the ravioli was crisp and crunchy (but not too crunchy) as well. The filling to fried pasta ratio was proportionate and the marinara dipping sauce set it off. Very casual, quick dining experience. The service was adequate and efficient. We have no complaints this way.

Super thin crust with what seemed like grossly insufficient toppings (both cheese and pepperoni)? I guess it's a St. Louis style thing? Not terribly enjoyable but I'm willing to understand it's a local thing. My salad came covered in cheese, so much for a veggie option. Finally, not kept clean, they had quite a few staff, but tables remained not cleaned pretty much my entire visit. I take care of my own trash and it was disappointing that other customers didn't, but still seemed like something the staff should have gotten up to do in the 30+ minutes I was there.

I'm glad I finally got to try St. Louis style pizza. I can't say I really liked the provel cheese but I'm glad I tried it. Service was super friendly and quick. We also got the the toasted ravioli which I really enjoyed. The salad came with provel on top which I liked. The pizza was just okay but I think it's just because I don't like melted provel. Worth trying.

Decided to give St Louis-style pizza a try. What makes islt St Louis-style? It uses provel cheese (blend of provolone, swiss and white cheddar) has a cracker-thin crust, and highly seasoned tomato sauce. They say people love it or hate it. I don't love it, but don't hate it either, but won't be looking for it in the future

Looking for this since last St Louis visit. This place had fast workers who took VIP like care of us!!! The food came out hot and fast! Super tasty. Will definitely look to visit this location again. A St. Louis staple. My husband and his family RAV about this place. I tried it 10 years ago and I have to agree, if you like rich flavors, melt cheese and super thin crust, this is a place for you. We had the Canadian bacon and olive, garden, toasted ravioli and house salad. The pizza was just as good as I remember. We ate both pies in one sitting. My daughter said it was the best pizza she's ever had, which is saying a lot. The toasted ravioli were a little over cooked this time. Salad was great, crisp lettuce, IMO's Italian dressing is a nice, light, vinaigrette. We ordered ahead from the museum about 40 mins before and only waiting 10 minutes when we got there. We were starving and opted to eat there. Restaurants roughly 15 tables, with mix of 4/6 seats. They are always busy, so order ahead or be prepared to wait.

Walked in to the clear Gen Z stare of the front of the house, my receipt says Zakyia. We ordered a pizza, salad, and a sandwich. I asked her if the creamy garlic dressing was any good, and she scoffed at the idea of eating there herself. I asked to get cups for water, but was informed they only sell fountain drinks. That's okay.. we brought our water bottles. Looked over at the soda machine and saw a water function. After filling my water bottle with water, I was scolded "for going against policy and filling my water with their water".... But they wouldn't give me a cup to get water either. So unless you're a soda drinker or come prepared with a full water bottle, I wouldn't suggest dining in. Pizza was fine. Salad was basic and creamy garlic was decently good. Sandwich was *smothered* in mayonnaise. My kids enjoyed the pizza. We probably won't be back, but I don't think anybody cares anyways. Just inserting my two cents.

This was a recommendation from someone at the hotel where we stayed. We were told it is a St Louis style pizza. Very different than any pizza I have eaten previously. It had a very thin crispy crust and toppings went all the way to the edge so there was no crust as I traditionally know. I would recommend giving it a try.

Service was horrible from start to finish. Cashier was curt, didn't say hello, and acted irritated that I was there and ordering. Ordered two pizzas three drinks and an app. First pizza and app came out in 10mins, second pizza they had forgotten about and had to put in after I reminded them about the second pizza 20mins in. They finished the pizza and let it sit in a box for another 10 mins.

We came here because we thought it was a local place, but I actually started in St. Louis but has become a huge chain with over 100 locations. The pizza is unique with an extremely thin crust and they use Provel Cheese instead of traditional mozzarella. This is a good tasting, different take on the pizza we're all used to. The based lasagna was really good. The service we had sucked, to put it nicely. I would rate the pizza a 4 out of 5 and the service a 2 out of 10. I would give Imo's another shot, but I would definitely go to a different location.

Food was good but service was just ok. Simple pizza joint dining area. Will definite return the next time I'm in the area.

FINALLY the pizza was perfect....Lol. Back home and of course, craving my Imos. I usually visit this location, but the last few times I was in town, the pizza was lacking, and the customer was blah. This time, great customer service and my green pepper and onion pizza was made perfectly. I'm mad I had to eat it in the car....Lol

My friend recommended I try IMO's, and I must say, I am thankful she did. I don't know what kind of cheese they use, but it was delicious. We did the deluxe (I think) pizza. It had thin crust and the meat and veggies tasted fresh. Loved it!

Crispy pizza - crunchy and different. If your expectations are a salty cheesy pizza, this is not for you. It's for those who like a crispier crust - or flat bread. Garlic bread was amazing- cheesy and garlicky. My fav. Great experience overall. Staff was great!

Very disappointed 1st I was disrespected by the manager called to let them know instructions for my pizza wasn't executed/I stated what was so hard about that he responded and slammed the phone in my ear DEONTE' was his name I will be calling the owner we will not tolerate disrespect under any circumstances very disappointed

When I visit cities, I always try to find the food that city is known for. Two of the things St. Louis is known for happens to be at Imo's Pizza, which everybody and their mom said I had to try. We arrived at our hotel late and the first thing the receptionist said was Imo's delivers to the hotel late. She must have read our minds because we were starving. I called the restaurant and they were super friendly and gave great suggestions. St. Louis pizza is definitely a class of its own. The style that's loved around these parts is thin crust, with provel cheese. Provel is a mix of Swiss, white cheddar and provolone. We ordered an XL All Meat along with another St. Louis staple, toasted ravioli. The pizza arrived on time, with a courteous call from the driver saying he left it with the front desk. Just talking through the lobby, we had 3 different parties asking if I got Imo's and that I was in for a real treat. The store also threw in a bunch of plates and napkins which gave them extra brownie points in my book. I am so glad we went with one pizza because this thing was massive, not only in length, but also in weight. They did not skimp on toppings whatsoever. The crust was thin, but had just enough thickness to support the toppings. The provel was definitely different, but not in a horrible way. It was buttery and melty, but also had hints of smokiness. Do I prefer it over mozzarella? I would have to try a few other places before I say yes to that. The toasted ravioli was amazing. Apparently it is award winning at Imo's and I can see why. It held up nicely with delivery and had a nice crunch to it. The beef filling inside was delicious as well. Overall, I am glad I got to try some of the area's known foods. Imo's puts out a great product and I would come back without hesitation if in the area!

We were told by locals that this is THE place to go for St. Louis pizza. I actually didn't even know that was a thing until about a few weeks earlier and there is a reason it's not more widely known lmao. This is NOT a typical restaurant experience but more like a McDonald's that serves St. Louis pizza. When looking for the place we were going to sample the local pizza, we were almost scared off by the reviews. The problem is that the poor reviews are mostly reflective of St. Louis pizza and not Imo's ability to provide said pizza. We ordered the classic cheese pizza to really get a feel for the original but they offer many specialty pizzas as well with various veggies and/or meats. We were also told that "toasted ravioli" was one of STL's delicacies so we threw in an order of that as well. The toasted ravioli came out first and definitely was toasted and crispy. Their definition of "ravioli" is different than what I consider to be ravioli which is only cheese. Theirs has meat which is unfortunate for vegetarians such as myself. GF ate this and confirms the outside was delicious and crunchy but the inside was "gross" and reminiscent of "chef boyardee". St. Louis pizza is definitely unique. The crust is not leavened so it becomes very crispy, thin, and cracker-like. The sauce had a stronger flavor than usual and the cheese was the pizza version of velveeta. It isn't awful, I don't think it was disgusting, but I can see why nobody outside of St. Louis likes it or makes it. My friend from KC didn't even know St. Louis had a pizza style. It is interesting to try once but you won't find me searching for it on Goldbelly. I think sampling St. Louis pizza to widen one's horizons and maybe develop more of an appreciation for regular pizza if you don't already appreciate it enough. Imo's is the original and they certainly do it right but maybe have a snack or other dinner plans as a plan B. PS-I will second the no masks whatsoever comments people are making in the reviews.

For the order, we had: 1) Large 14" - Half Pepperoni, Half Pepperoni and Mushroom 2) Toasted Ravioli The Food - 3 Stars: Honestly, decent pizza. The pie came out piping hot and the flavor and taste was good. The toasted ravioli stole the show for me. Was not expecting it to contain meat, so it was very filling. The entire lot was split between 3 people and demolished easily. The Service - 3 Stars: Typical counter service location with a table number 'tent'. Nothing special. The Price - 3 Stars: Average. For the amount of food and 3 soft drinks, split among three people average ~$13 (~$40 total). The Vibes - 3 Stars: The walk to the location was highlighted by the science museum down the block. The restaurant was spacious with plenty of seating, even for larger groups. Overall, easy 3 stars. St. Louis-style pizza is a little thicker than common 'thin crust' but covered edge to edge with toppings. It is a must-try for anyone that has not had this style before.

Had to try the local pizza. This location was open so we plugged it in and off we went. This location is next to the factory and the gift shop. Well...if this is their flagship location they have work to do. The staff was lazy about enforcing masks on their customers and they were not professional. Pants sagging off the employees, employees in the kitchen making loud noises and playing on their phones in the eating area. Clearly a supervisor was not on the premises. We were going to eat in but decided against it. The stars were for the food. The toasted ravioli was really good. Filled with meat with a side of sauce that could've been warmer but still good. We ate those in house waiting for our pizza as we decided to get out as more folks came in. The pizza was good! It had a thin crust that was crispy and the creamy cheese known in the area was delicious. Provel maybe? Don't get me to lying! The sauce was tasty and it all went well together. Definitely worth a try if you haven't had it before.

We came here the other day with our 4 and 6 year olds because they wanted pizza. This is more of a fast food place. You order at the counter and then they bring the food out to you. There wasn't a kid menu but there was a lunch deal for a personal pizza, side, and a drink. We got a cheese pizza and fries and pepperoni pizza and fries. I also got cheese bites. It wasn't too slow service for being pizza. My kids liked their fries the best. The cheese pizza did not look good to me, the pepperoni pizza was better. If it wasn't for my kids' low quality taste in pizza, we wouldn't have gone here.

I'm just in town visiting St Louis for a conference and heard I HAD to try this place. My expectations were EXCEEDED not only in flavor and just general deliciousness but also customer service! Jojo had AMAZING customer service. I ordered a small meat lovers and they had made an extra large one and he just gave that one to me! Jojo is amazing and deserves a raise for his incredible customer service! Thanks Jojo!

Great pizza. It is as good as any Chicago pizza. I was stuck at the train station and ordered it from yelp. Glad I did

We ordered for delivery to our hotel. Food was hot, it arrived and the promised time. it looked like what was pictured online. We had pizza, toasted ravioli, breaded cheese balls and a cinnamon roll dessert. It's totally worth getting that combo deal that gives you dessert - those tops covered in a cinnamon glaze tasted like an elephant ear! I'm glad to have tried the St. Louis style pizza and the puréed meat ravioli.

What's to say? It's Imo's! Ok ok let me think, so, the employees are very nice. The dining area is relatively clean, the pizza and ravioli came in due time. Ummmm....lemme think....oh! They have that soda machine where it's the little all in one and you use the touch screen to choose between the hundred different combinations. Ya. That's it. Byyiieeee!

It is really sad that the Parker Road Imo's location discriminates against senior citizens. Without any explanation, they stop delivering to Pope John Paul Senior Community. The manager was extremely rude and called me a liar when I told him I have receipt proof that Imo's had delivered to me in 2022 and in 2023, yet he tells me they have NEVER delivered to this location. Imo's ONLY cares about profits and NOT about the customers. I wrote to the corporate office to no avail which is proof positive that they do not care about the customers, only profits! I will STOP ordering and eating Imo's food as well as most people in the community!

The food was excellent, had the roast beef sandwich and baked ravioli. Unfortunately our experience was hindered by the girls on staff who were lazy and unprofessional. The gentlemen of the crew were very attentive however.

They offer a lunch combo which includes a 8" pizza (or sandwich, appetizer), side (half salad, garlic bread, garlic cheese bread), and a drink for about $10. We got a 14" deluxe pizza and a lunch 8" pineapple pizza with garlic cheese bread. I love the crispy thin crust St Louis style pizza! The deluxe was loaded with toppings and has a really interesting sauce on it. I thought it was very good but the kids were not a fan. Next time I would get the 12" and a lunch or two lunch sizes instead. The kids also didn't like the garlic cheese bread. Good stop for pizza. Tastes better fresh when it is still hot and crispy. Parking lot available and located not too far from the City Museum.

Can't come to St Louis and not try Imos right? I ordered the all meats pizza and it didn't disappoint. I already love thin crust pizza but this real THIN crust pizza. Whatever Parmesan cheese flavor they use definitely added flavor to the pizza. If you like thin crust pizza you'll love St Louis style pizza then.

Consistently great service and quality St. Louis Style pizza. NOTE: People should make sure if they are reviewing (and reading reviews) that they consider whether they would like ANY St. Louis style pizza. You either like it or you don't.

I heard about this St. Louis style pizza so I had to give it a try. At first I thought not too bad but I quickly felt like nope, this is not that good. The crust is just way too thin and I only had the cheese. I did get fried ravioli also and that was better than the pizza. Service was friendly and fast and they have a decent priced lunch special. I would eat in a pinch but I wouldn't say this is a must while in town.

I saw this place on tv and decided to try it for the first time while in town. This may be a great pizza to people who live here, but it was a no for me. The fried raviolis were ok. I'm not a fan of St. Louis style pizza though.

Everyone said, "If you're in St. Louis, you've got to go to Imo's." Simple enough, I thought. I mean, who doesn't love trying local pizza? So the first meal I had when I was in the Lou was Imo's. What makes Imo's, and I suppose all of St. Louis pizza different from say, Chicago or New York is that their crust is a cracker crust. It's crunchy. It's thicker than thin crust but thinner than pan. It's dense and crispy with a slight, very slight hint of chewy. Here at Imo's you order, get your number, wait- a little long in my case and then eventually someone will yell out your number so you can get your food. We had a bbq chicken pizza, which was really good. That St. Louis bbq sauce was so sweet and tangy. The chicken was piled on top of mounds of cheese and that famous crust. We ordered bread sticks as well, because- why not? I love bread. We had our pizza inside the shop, but probably would have been a better idea to take it to go, but as tourists we didn't know these things. The tables weren't really clean. The crowd though was amazing for people watching. There wasn't really service there in terms of waitstaff so you're better off just picking it up or having it delivered (presuming that they do deliver). I'm definitely happy we checked it out, but next time I'm eating it from the bed of my hotel.

I see the average rating is a three. I understand people either love or hate Imo's. I definitely love it. Saint Louis style pizza , prover cheese and the thin cut. There are always great deals to indulge in your favorites when ordering online. For anyone trying Saint Louis style pizza for the first time , l believe they should try it at Imo's!

I will defend Imo's pizza to my grave. I flew toasted ravioli out of state for my wedding. I spent years getting provolone gifted to me at Christmas. I am a hardcore, die hard St. Louis girl. So now you know where I'm coming from when I ask -- Have you ever eaten pasta so terrible it makes you feel sorry for yourself? Baked mostaccioli with meatballs: it's not baked, and they forgot the meatballs. Let me be clearer-- the cheese was baked. But those are boiled noodles. My beloved cheese turned to plastic -- and I put this cheese on my own stuff when I bake pasta, so what did they do to this? Heat lamp? And the sauce-- Can you accept this description with the sadness I am trying to convey? The sauce just tastes *wet*. Damn this is disappointing. I was trying to treat myself. And as a $10+ item, I kind of assumed there'd be the tiniest bit of finesse. I know. I'm taking my pasta purchase personally. But it's a damn shame.

Maybe they just had a bad cook because I've eaten here again and the pizza has been really good unlike the previous pics I posted .

We love it here and in surprised it only have 3 stars! Walking distance from the city museum and the pizza is great!

I am totally digging these earlier reviews from Chicago people complaining that the pizza at Imo's is too thin and the cheese doesn't taste like mozzarella. LOLOLOLOL So, a couple of things: 1) It's NOT mozzarella. It's a cheese called provel. It's a peculiarity to St. Louis. Some people do not like it. Some people think it has an odd smell and when it's melted it looks like orange pizza sauce. I sort of liked it in small amounts (ie not on a whole pizza) the first time I tried it, and the more I've had it since then, the more I've liked it. Some people hate it and always will. In that case, Imo's is not for you, not by fault of Imo's, so giving them 1 star in a review seems dumb. 2) New York and Chicago have their own style of pizza. Other places have their own as well. And St. Louis has its own, which means its pizzas are very thin - a bit thicker than a cracker but maybe half as thick as NY style. There's not a crust that surrounds it to hold onto, you hold it underneath or use a fork (which, contrary to a typical New Yorkers' insistence, would not be the end of the world). The crust tends to be crispy. Again, some people hate it and will never like it. See above. 3) I like the meat lover's and the supreme, but they have several other choices as well as pasta, lasagna, Italian sandwiches and a couple salads. Imo's locations tend to be low maintenance, quick, serve-yourself kind of places. This is not a sit-down, full-service dining experience. It's more like a combination of Five Guys and Fazoli's. 4) This location is in a semi-dicey area off downtown, but it was a Sunday around 11:30 am so it was pretty empty and we pretty much had the place to ourselves. In the end, if you want to be open-minded and aren't a pizza snob (you know who you are), Imo's is worth a try, as it's one of St. Louis' most well known treasures. if it isn't for you, it isn't for you. But for my money, it's awfully difficult to mess up pizza.

Food was good. Excellent representation of the St. Louis style pizza. Customer service was excellent. Strongly recommend.

STORE BOUGHT RATING: I made dough for Imos in 1977...when I was 12. Always loved it. Prices have gone way up and service/cooking/etc is not as good as it used to be anywhere. That said, I bought 2 frozen pizzas at Schnucks and for half the price it is almost as good tasting as fresh ones are. Double bonus points for someone in marketing/packaging who decided to print the oven temperature and cook time in letters I can read without needed glasses!!!

Ordered the lunch special at 11:43am promised at 12:15pm. Checked on the order at 12:17pm was told they messed up the pizza and was now putting it in the oven. Didn't have time to wait so asked for refund. Received refund and was told I could keep the salad and drink. As I was walking to my car the manager told me to return the salad and drink. Terrible experience and customer service by the manager. They made the mistake and have to throw the salad away anyway so what was the point? They made the mistake. Terrible service. Never seen this before at any IMO's store.

Stopped by for pizza here instead of getting it at the City Museum. Guy at the City Museum said to get pizza anywhere but at the City Museum but also recommended Imo's. Pizza was good and reasonably priced for downtown. We had the BBQ which was fabulous and the Deluxe which was just ok. Friends of ours got the box deal and the ravioli looked great. Don't miss out on buying cold 2-liters if you take a group.

When in St. Louis, you need to get Imo's pizza and toasted ravioli. The barbecue chicken pizza was great, hot and fresh and lots of tangy barbecue sauce. The toasted ravioli with meat sauce was the star of the show. A staple of St. Louis cuisine and not for no reason. Crunchy, deep fried goodness filled with meat dipped in meaty red Sauce.

Worst vomit pizza EVER! Burnt! Asked for a refund and was offered half a pizza based on the amount that was bitten and not fully eaten! Sweet heat pizza was replaced with a new burnt 10"! won't be back and don't recommend this place!

This is the most overrated pizza in St Louis. Straight up just like a thin frozen pizza. I appreciated the history behind the place but it just isn't all that good. The toasted ravioli is where it's at if you are eating there!

When my friend told his manager that he was going to St. Louis his manager insisted that we had to try Imo's pizza. Despite there being a location in Kansas City, his manager said that the KC location couldn't compare to the St. Louis one. We stopped by Imo's for dinner before exploring the City Museum, and got the 16 inch deluxe pizza, which comes with came with bacon, bell peppers, mushrooms, and ham. My boyfriend and I thought that the cheese on the pizza was really interesting. It had a liquid consistency, instead of a solid stringy one, but it was delicious nonetheless. However, we did find that this caused the pizza toppings to easily slip off the slices. Another interesting thing about Imo's is that they don't cut their pizza into pie slices, but instead do three cuts horizontally and three cuts vertically, so the slices are rectangular. I actually prefer this over pie type slices since it keeps the slices smaller, so they're easier to handle. I was skeptical that we would finish the entire 16 inch oiza, since it was just me and two others, but my friend insisted on getting it. Surprisingly we were actually able to finish it all before we left. This was probably due to the fact that the pizza was really thin, so it doesn't fill you up as quickly after each slice. By the time we finished though, we were definitely stuffed! The pizza was really flavorful, so I'd come back for sure if I was back in St. Louis. I also think I might have to try the KC location for comparison!

The pizza tastes much better than it looks. Better yet it is located close to downtown hotels. The main issue people seem to have with Imos is delivery. I called on a night where it was 6 or 7 degrees outside. DoorDash had wasted an hour and a half of my time and then didn't deliver because of no drivers. I called Imos and the lady explained that they were too backed up to take delivery orders but I could pick up and it would be ready in 20 minutes. She told the truth. I arrived. They have a small parking lot. And my order was ready. The pizza was still warm when I got back to the hotel. It has a nice zesty sauce and the crest was crispy. It's not the best but it's an effective combination of efficiency and location. And it's open late. Give it a try. I think you will be pleased. I'm pretty picky and if it was bad I would not write a review.

St. Louis local pizzeria always on my list when I visit! Due to the pandemic I ordered for delivery. Delivery driver did not wear a mask a BIG no no during a pandemic. The pizza was still the same flavor as I remember the last time I had it. The salad was ok but pretty boring, I think tomato should be added or a Peperoncino. Be sure to try the toasted ravioli especially if you never had it before. IMO's also has a good hot wings, order them extra crispy.

We went for the toasted ravioli, and they didn't disappoint. We also got the cinnamon-things, which were surprisingly good. Next time we will need to try the pizza.
