"The location that houses this restaurant is interesting in the way it blends the architectural details of the old building, such as high ceilings and large arched windows, into the modern, chic-meets-urban look. In this stylish yet relaxed setting, diners are treated to warm hospitality and can watch Michael Seitz at work in the open kitchen, as he cooks up international dishes with a Franconian twist. For groups of two or more people, the sharing menus "Celebration Mood" and "Glamour Mood" are highly recommended. "Dinner Mood" is a set menu comprising four or six courses, which you compile yourself. Tip: The "OpenHausBrunch" takes place on certain Sundays, and there are other regular events." - Michelin Inspector

We ended up here by coincidence and were given a great spot at the bar. The service staff were cheerful, friendly, and highly skilled—a truly wonderful and positive surprise. The open kitchen was also impressive, with the chefs working with full concentration; it was fascinating to watch. We recognized the style of the Dutch chef Jonnie Boer, who sadly is no longer with us. We ordered a 4-course menu consisting, and the amuse-bouche and first course were very promising—chapeau! After that, our patience was really put to the test. Of course, our glasses were generously refilled with excellent wine, but after about an hour I tried to make eye contact with the chef in the kitchen. As the staff had already mentioned several times “It’s coming soon!”, the chef shouted from his position, “Why are you looking at me like that? It’s coming soon!” I replied that I only tried to draw his attention and I didn’t think my question was unreasonable, as it had been a long wait. I should not have said that, because the chef then shouted to me I should be grateful to be allowed to eat in his restaurant and that I could clearly see everyone was working hard. When I asked whether he truly meant what he had said before, it became clear that we had very different views on hospitality and basic manners. We were so shocked and confused by the situation that we decided to leave the restaurant. We’ve never experienced anything like this—you simply don’t expect such behavior from a chef in a place like this. All our compliments go to the service staff, who genuinely cared about us and apologized for the terrible situation, and to the cooks, who clearly have great talent and work incredibly hard.

Perfect from start to finish. Every dish was full of flavour, cooked amazingly and well presented. Even the bread was delicious. The wine was also perfectly paired. Our main server Elke was fantastic, explaining every dish and wine in detail and was super attentive and friendly throughout. The atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxed, minimal and chic which added to the overall experience. Definitely recommend.

Google
Great atmosphere and welcoming and personal service. The quality of the meat outstanding. Some interesting flavor combinations. A bit too much from the mayonnaise option in my opinion. Yeah it is well over my usual budget for my restaurant treat but for a special occasion we left with a very good impression.

Google
Lovely place for a fine-dining experience! Food was great, service was lovely (although not all staff were able to introduce the dishes in English, but we had no problem figuring everything out together) and the atmosphere was cool! One thing we missed was a proper welcome: when we arrived (Saturday, 7pm) there was no one at the door to greet us. Minor point, but if you want to step up the hosting experience, that'd be a way to do it :)

Imperial stands out as an oasis in the culinary desert that is Nuremberg. After a week of avoiding pretzels, schnitzel, bland Indian food, something called tapas, and Italian out of the box food, Imperial was a cascade of fresh and invigorating sensory delight. I selected the five course meal which paired perfectly with a Riesling, Ruinart champagne, and an Austrian blend. I will be back, just not soon enough.

Google
Beautiful restaurant but expect 3 + hours for the fixed course menu. Good service but ultimately if I’m going to spend 600 + euros then no more than 2 hours.

Google
This was a wonderful experience. The restaurant ambiance was amazing and felt so well loved. And that love rubs off on the wonderful staff, one of the best service models I have ever received, WELL DONE. The food was average, I expected something to blow my taste buds away which was not the case. You could see the passion the kitchen team had put into the preparation which shows in the pictures, just missed the WOW

Yelp
Disappointing on so many levels; Poor service, incorrect orders, over charging and bad attitude from our server. We will not return.

Yelp
Incredibly delicious food! Every food item on the menu is elevated with homemade and natural ingredients prepared by chefs right in front of you through the open concept kitchen. I ordered the Frank'ness Burger and it's the best burger I've ever had! The beef was extremely tender and juicy, cooked perfectly with just a slslight smoky char on top for flavor. Then it's topped with crispy bacon, lettuce, red onion, and tasty truffle mayonnaise. It was a burst of flavor with every bite. Even the pretzel bun had good flavor and it was toasted for a nice crunch. On the side the burger comes with a fresh salad that perfectly balances the heaviness of the burger. It has cucumber, red onion, croutons, spinach leaves and a balsamic vinegarette on top. As an extra side, I ordered the house potatoes which were super delicious. Perfectly breaded, crispy, and soft inside, with a sour cream based sauce and chives on top. Everything from the food, to the service, to the atmosphere was wonderful! While the price is more than you'd expect to pay for a burger, this isn't your everyday burger and it's worth every euro.

Yelp
Yelp had this categorized as "German, burgers, pizza". Couldn't be more wrong. The food was steaks, chicken, soup and salad. Quality of the meal was okay but I thought a bit trendy and overpriced. 36 euro for 150g of steak.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! Best in Nuremberg! The franconian sausage was the best I have had all week and our server made our experience super memorable!

Yelp
Frank'ness was a welcomed change from our food experiences in Germany! Their menu is really different, even from many you'd see in the US. Very chic and trendy with exciting combinations that make you think you'd like to sample half of the menu in one sitting. Also, we were greeted with such a friendly member of staff- who also waited on us, that it made the whole experience that much more enjoyable. We brought a 1 year old with us and they don't have highchairs...and most of the seating is high-top stools, so that is a challenge with a little one. Our waiter was nothing but helpful and patient as we tried to situate our little one and checked on us frequently to make sure there wasn't anything extra he needed. They also had menu's in English, which we haven't found everywhere, so that was good. As far as food, I normally don't talk about drinks in my posts, but the cinnamon cherry lemonade was something so unique and so tasty that I have to tell my fellow Yelpers! And, here's the kicker, it came with ICE! I was sipping this deliciousness for a few minutes before I realized what was enhancing it's flavor...the ice. In 10 days, I have yet to see ice in one drink here in Germany (as it is most of Europe). So, when you finally get a drink filled with ice, you notice..and you enjoy. We also ordered the shrimp cocktail to start. It is a bit spicy, just enough to leave your mouth with a nice tingle. It was good. I was hoping the shrimp would be larger. They were just the size you'd get at the grocery store, but for almost 13 Euros, I was hoping for something larger. It was good- layered with a homemade tomato marinade of some sort with salad and some crispy crumbs or balls? It looked like cous-cous but was crispy. It also came with a small side of their homemade croutons, but these aren't crunchy; they are buttery, garlicy, soft cubes of lightly toasted bread. Very yummy! For our entrees, we ordered the pulled pork burger (which in the US, we'd just call a pulled pork sandwich. It is not a burger) and the grilled goat cheese from the vegetarian menu. The pulled pork was delicious and came over-flowing with meat. Like, you need a fork to clean up your plate. It also was accompanied by a small cravat of salad that was also good. The goat cheese was sprinkled with crispies and pomegranate seeds, which I scrapped off because they're not fun to chew, but made for a very nice presentation. It also come with a bowl of pickled sweet beets which were really tasty and naturally go with goat cheese. Overall, I would highly recommend. Everything from the service to the food (and free bathroom!) was just what we needed to cap of a wonderful visit to Nuremberg.

Yelp
We stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday late in December 2019. The food was prepared perfectly. The yogurt was delicious and the eggs were great! We hoped to go back the next morning, but they were not open for breakfast on weekdays. We will definitely stop there again next time we are in town

Yelp
Stopped in for brunch while traveling for business - what a lovely place. Too bad we live so far away. There were a lot of interesting selections on the brunch buffet, all of which we enjoyed! The chef even prepared a custom egg dish and dessert, we enjoyed it all. The house cocktail are interesting and refreshing. If you find yourself in Nuremberg give it a try!

Yelp
Our first meal in Nuremberg. We order a raw beef pizza with a salad. The pizza is good but the salad is a bit salty.

Yelp
Best food we have had on our vacation for that pasted 20 days. (Including our Danube River cruise) We haven't heard of this famous chef in the USA. We ordered one of the bagel special breakfast that was fantastic. They have an upscale restaurant upstairs that we are going to try tonight for dinner.

Yelp
Very much enjoyed our food at this clean, modern restaurant. Order at the front of the restaurant and then get a buzzer light to signal good is ready. Some plastic versions of dishes on counter to get an idea of what items mean. Pizza has authentic wood fired taste. While we thought we were ordering a green salad, the oven toasted veggie salad was great. Wine a bit rough. Seating inside and out. Only drawback was teen techno music that distracted from overall ambiance. The staff gets an A+ for helpful service and friendliness.
