Frank'ness was a welcomed change from our food experiences in Germany! Their menu is really different, even from many you'd see in the US. Very chic and trendy with exciting combinations that make you think you'd like to sample half of the menu in one sitting. Also, we were greeted with such a friendly member of staff- who also waited on us, that it made the whole experience that much more enjoyable. We brought a 1 year old with us and they don't have highchairs...and most of the seating is high-top stools, so that is a challenge with a little one. Our waiter was nothing but helpful and patient as we tried to situate our little one and checked on us frequently to make sure there wasn't anything extra he needed. They also had menu's in English, which we haven't found everywhere, so that was good.
As far as food, I normally don't talk about drinks in my posts, but the cinnamon cherry lemonade was something so unique and so tasty that I have to tell my fellow Yelpers! And, here's the kicker, it came with ICE! I was sipping this deliciousness for a few minutes before I realized what was enhancing it's flavor...the ice. In 10 days, I have yet to see ice in one drink here in Germany (as it is most of Europe). So, when you finally get a drink filled with ice, you notice..and you enjoy.
We also ordered the shrimp cocktail to start. It is a bit spicy, just enough to leave your mouth with a nice tingle. It was good. I was hoping the shrimp would be larger. They were just the size you'd get at the grocery store, but for almost 13 Euros, I was hoping for something larger. It was good- layered with a homemade tomato marinade of some sort with salad and some crispy crumbs or balls? It looked like cous-cous but was crispy. It also came with a small side of their homemade croutons, but these aren't crunchy; they are buttery, garlicy, soft cubes of lightly toasted bread. Very yummy!
For our entrees, we ordered the pulled pork burger (which in the US, we'd just call a pulled pork sandwich. It is not a burger) and the grilled goat cheese from the vegetarian menu. The pulled pork was delicious and came over-flowing with meat. Like, you need a fork to clean up your plate. It also was accompanied by a small cravat of salad that was also good. The goat cheese was sprinkled with crispies and pomegranate seeds, which I scrapped off because they're not fun to chew, but made for a very nice presentation. It also come with a bowl of pickled sweet beets which were really tasty and naturally go with goat cheese.
Overall, I would highly recommend. Everything from the service to the food (and free bathroom!) was just what we needed to cap of a wonderful visit to Nuremberg.
