Terrible service; good food. We made a reservation and were seated immediately. But it took 60+ minutes for anyone to take our order. Long wait for drinks as well. We had to get the menus ourselves. It took another 60 minutes to get any main meals. They brought out one main meal all by itself and then no others for about 5 minutes. Then they broght out half the other main meals and then it was another 10+ minutes before they brought the rest. No one offered to refill drinks until the meal was over for most of us. Something was wrong with their order sequence. Every table in the room the guests who arrived after us got their food before we finished getting ours (and most ate and left before we got the check). Even the small service details were frustrating. They said they ran out of chopsticks, but we passed a full basket of them in the lobby on our way out. The food was good, but it took about 3 hours and almost all of that time was waiting for food. We saw several people who gave up and left because no one came to take their orders. Nice atmosphere for a casual restaurant (see pictures), and perhaps they had call-offs, but there's no good explanation for why 5+ other tables got food before we got even half of ours even though they arrived after we did. Bringing main meals out staggered so much was also a problem because either the guests sat there and let the food get cold or they ate while others were waiting.

Google
Classic Chinese restaurant. Family owned and original owners Niece runs the place. Some reviews mention poor service and I can't comment on that but I ordered pick up and it was ready when stated and hot and delicious. Better than most of the smaller places scattered around Atlanta. Worth the drive I would say and the interior is classic 80's Chinese decor...I will be back!

Google
Awful service…the only time they will accept my party platter order is if the owner Jessie accepts it. It’s like pulling teeth to order a party platter for a family of five. Yes their food is good but I don’t need the frustration of them, refusing to take my order at least once to twice a month. You would think they would remember me/my order given the fact that I come at least twice a month and spend $70-$80 each time. I also didn’t even complain when they messed up my party platter a couple weeks ago but now I’m complaining because it’s really hard to place an order. It just seems as if the business is deteriorating. I’ve been coming to this location for a few years but lately, their services beginning to suck in the nicest way possible. It takes over an hour to prepare a call in order. I will now find a business that understands their menu. Never again will I ever come here.

Google
Based on the reviews I drove about 7 miles to get to this place and I was sooooo disappointed. I ordered crab rangoons which was really just fried wontons with a 1/4 tsp of dried up cream cheese, house fried rice which had 3 shrimp 4 pieces of beef and some shredded chicken, General Tso chicken which was deep fried battered chicken in something that almost tasted like pancake syrup. This food is horrible. Definitely not worth the money or the drive for me.

Google
The flavor was not bad but burnt really. Was not easy to chew! This should have been re-made ,unacceptable!!!

Google
We wanted something a little different from the ordinary Chinese food so we tried imperial. The exquisite Asia art was absolutely gorgeous. I mean they have a fountain in the center of the joint. Really nice. BUT the food was mediocre at best and they gave my friend the wrong order. I will not recommend if you have to travel more than 15min. I would recommend if you like authentic Asian decor and art. The service was good and they were very nice. Side note: It would be nice if they had runners down over the carpet it looked pretty worn.

Google
Imperial Chinese Garden is the best choice for Chinese food in Lilburn! The meals are tasty and we have always received prompt and friendly service from the staff, especially Jessie. We’ve been coming here since moving to Lilburn in 2018 and I highly recommend that you give it a try. The Lemon Pepper wings (extra crispy) are amazing!

Google
Hidden gem. Was skeptical about coming in because I had drove by a couple times and would not see many cars, but im glad we too the chance! Food and service was great!

Yelp
We ordered the dinner for three. First time doing that and we've been coming here for years. Everyone got a soup, egg roll, and an entree. The hot and sour soup was good as was the egg drop soup. Egg rolls were hot and delicious. We had the moo su beef. The 4 pancakes were stuffed with lots of veggies and beef. The beef lo mein was also delicious. The orange chicken was good, a bit too much breading for me but it was still good. The service was great, our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive. The place looks great. There is new flooring in the dining area and it is brighter and looks nice and crisp. Absolutely a great meal and enough leftovers for another meal or 2. Nothing to complain about and very happy to continue to support our local restaurants.

Yelp
Long running Asian food restaurant in the Mountain Park / Lilburn area. Tasty food, great service and relaxing decor. Where else can you get served a soup, egg roll, and entree, on a real plate with real silverware, and table service for about $10? Such a relaxing experience, so skip that #4 combo made in a factory months ago but people who don't even like you and come get a freshly prepared healthy meal made with care!

David K.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem. They are not located off of a main road, so the traffic is light, but for those who know it is there, it is a must. The food is so delicious they have spoiled me. When I go out of town and try another Chinese restaurant I am always disappointed. My wife and I will usually get one Happy Family and one Mongolian Triple Delight and we share the two. Well, halfway through writing this we decided to eat at the Imperial Chinese Garden, and it is always outstanding!

Sharon C.

Yelp
Updated review that only applies to one dish. The sesame chicken has got to be the worst I've ever tasted. I definitely hope they change the way they cool it. At least the other dish from my other review was good.

Rhea W.

Yelp
Egg Rolls Sesame Chicken beef n noodle lo mein new york style lobby decorated really nice

Yelp
This place is good. Great hardworking family restaurant with kind and happy staff. The food is excellent well prepared, cooked and served. It's got the feel of a Chinese restaurant in major American city Chinatown. The food is traditional, but they cater to we westerners. . Highly recommend the twice cooked pork, the triple delight and the simple but flavorful bok choy..

Stephanie G.

Yelp
Service was great. Food was average. Restaurant is pretty big. Went on a Sunday and they had enough space even if a few large families dining in.

Dan M.

Yelp
I went here late in the afternoon I had an order of happy family it was very good I tend to go back and try other dishes I highly recommend it

Joseph S.

Yelp
Always great food every time and great service nice view every time I go good for birthday parties .

Kathy B.

Yelp
The food and service was excellent! We were a group of 10 and everyone enjoyed their meal Lots of food enough for another meal and the quality was very good! They were very nice to us and it was a great place for a family get together

Mindelle S.

Yelp
We ate at Imperial Chinese Gardens yesterday, Sunday afternoon, and we enjoyed the experience. It is a pretty place, conducive to a feeling of calmness. We enjoyed the sizzling rice soup a lot. The beef with garlic sauce was tender and tasty. Our server was attentive. It was a pleasant dining experience.

Roslyn H.

Yelp
Yugh! I had mongolian beef way too sweet. Chicken egg foo young was bland and lack flavor. In addition, i had three small eggrolls that were mushy on the inside and hard shelled on outside. RED FLAG! I arrived 3:30pm on Wednesday and the place was locked! No cars on the outside. Lady let me in and a placed a to go order. I WONT BE BACK..

Iginah J.

Yelp
This food is disgusting! The lo mein is dry. No sauce or seasoning at all. Even after asking them to cook it with garlic sauce. The "fried rice" is white rice with half an egg tossed in the wok. Gross! The egg rolls taste like they came out a grocery freezer. The wonton soup is diluted broth (mostly water) with grocery feeezer wontons. The only thing hitting are the crispy noodles. The honey chicken is decent. I give a 6 out of 10. Everything else went in the trash. Waste of $40. We will not be back

Tom I.

Yelp
Service could use some help. Food is good, can be a little on the bland side. Prices are still somewhat reasonable.

Kim J.

Yelp
This place is not what people say it is it's nasty an bland an they NEVER change the grease they cook in stay away an keep your money

Gretel Y.

Yelp
Came here one late evening to order food to go. My husband, son and I were greeted immediately by the sweet owners upon entering. They asked if we were dining in and we told them we would like to place an order to go. They handed us a menu and offered us water and hot tea while we wait. We ordered the Dinner for Five Combo $67.99 which included the following: Sizzling Rice Soup Egg Rolls Garlic Chicken Sweet and Sour Pork Mongolian Beef Imperial Mixed Vegetables Imperial Garden Shrimp Fortune Cookies The Combo fed a total 6 of us well. Although the food wasn't the best, it was decent. I am giving 4 stars because of the wonderful service we received while waiting for our order. The owners have been there for a very, very long time and they are still as sweet as ever. I actually had my son's Christening party there 10 years ago and our guests enjoyed the food and the service then. The restaurant hasn't changed much in the last ten years. It looked fairly clean to me. I hope they continue to stay open for years to come. This place is a Stone Mountain staple.

Sheila R.

Yelp
Have had lunch here several times. Always great food, fresh ingredients and good service. The lunch specials have large servings and include soup, fried rice and an egg roll. Will be back.

Juli S.

Yelp
We used to come here all the time when I was 3, and then we moved to Colorado. Every time we come back to GA we make sure to eat here. The food is always amazing, the restaurant is gorgeous, and the staff is wonderful. Highly recommend the sizzling rice soup and mongolian beef!!

D P C.

Yelp
Visiting the area. The WORST Chinese I've ever had. Not sure how this restaurant gets the high stars. They have to be lying. DO NOT EAT THERE!!! Horrible! Horrible! Horrible!

Marco C.

Yelp
Wow, such a nice experience. Fresh and delicious food. Yin and Estela are great, excellent customer service and the owners are very friendly. For sure will come back again.

Pamela R.

Yelp
Food was great, fast and the service was great always extremely friendly and polite. I would definitely recommend going here!

Robert S.

Yelp
Ate dinner there on Thursday 7/29 around 7 pm. Only 1 other table seated in the restaurant. Service was slow. Food was not good. Frozen egg rolls, frozen dumplings, no dipping sauce available. Another table was seated while we were eating. It took about 3 minutes after they ordered for the waiter to return with their food and tried to put it at our table. Pre-made I wonder? When we finally got dinner it was bad. Absolutely no flavor other than salt salt salt for anything. Wait, that's not entirely right - the pork in the Hunan pork tasted stale, like leftovers from 2 days ago. I won't go back. Funny how they have all these 5 star reviews but the food is so bad.

Gary P.

Yelp
For over 30 years, our family has been enjoying the wonderful food at Imperial Chinese Garden in the Mountain Park Community. Our favorites are the Sizzling Rice Soup, Mongolian Beef, and the spicy Imperial Garden Shrimp. They are very attentive and eager to please the customer. If you like a little more or less zing in your spicy dish, just ask. Dine in or take out, but be warned... If you have children then you must bring coins to toss in the colorful fountain. Kids love it. They are located between the Aquatic Center and Kroger on Rockbridge Road, near Lilburn and Stone Mountain. Give them a try and I am sure you will agree that they serve the best Chinese food in the area.

Lamark W.

Yelp
The food is great and the service is great. How man more words do I need to use in order to properly display this review? Go give this place a try.

Marybeth W.

Yelp
My husband and I love Imperial Garden. I appreciate the traditional interior of the restaurant and the servers are quick. The food is fantastic. I've tried the moo goo gai pan, happy family, chicken fried rice, chicken & vegetables, spring rolls, the hot and sour soup and won ton soup. We get take-out quite often. Love this restaurant!!

Tony W.

Yelp
We weren't fans. Myself my wife and my under 10 year old son ordered soup and steamed pot stickers. Wonton soup the hot and sour soup and the Egg drop soup weren't traditional Chinese type soups. The egg drop had shrimp in it which I've never seen along with the hot-and-sour. The hot-and-sour wasn't spicy enough for us. My son thought the won ton was bland. The steamed pot stickers seem to have no vegetables and we're only ground meat filling. We're used to a more traditional american Chinese type restaurant. maybe it's us, were moving on to other restaurants in the area. It might be good to add that were my wife and I are X New Yorkers so we have a different sense and taste for Chinese food then people outside of New York City.

Barry W.

Yelp
family and I ate there Saturday evening 5.6.23. the food was great and hot. the staff was very friendly

Vanessa R.

Yelp
This was a definite NO for my family. We have been looking for good Chinese food in the neighborhood and this was NOT it. We ordered pretty easy dishes and none of it tasted good. We ordered chicken Wings, gross and looked unappetizing. The fried dumplings have a weird coating then appear to have been deep fried, we were expecting pan fried. Basic sweet and sour chicken, hard and didn't taste good. The shrimp fried rice was mushy and tasteless, as was their white rice a huge pile of mush. Their beef and broccoli was just barely OK, the sauce did not have much flavor but the beef was tender and broccoli somewhat crisp as it should be. Lastly, the egg rolls... also disappointing in taste and clearly burned! What a waste of $55 and then to have to find alternate dinner at home is frustrating. I understand that Covid has an impact on businesses right now and I'm sorry that if they've experienced any loss, but that does not excuse their poorly cooked and tasteless food.

Wiley G.

Yelp
For 30+ years this has been the best Chinese restaurant in Lilburn/Stone Mountain. 100% my favorite and the price/service are both excellent.

Wesley W.

Yelp
New owners have changed the menu. This place used to be the best Chinese place in Georgia. They had the best house made egg rolls . Now they are doing the same bs frozen ones all the sub par places do. Made my last purchase from here, RIP

Chris M.

Yelp
This is the place we go to when we want Chinese food. We've been coming here for years and it always satisfies. The menu has changed but they still make things from the old menu for me and modify dishes when asked. Hubby and I love the beef eggrolls, the happy family stir fry, and I love the green beans, and also the vegetable mu shu. Highly suggest for a family run Chinese restaurant.

Deb F.

Yelp
Doesn't open till 4:00. I made a mistake Of going to Big Joy. BIG MISTAKE! Imperial is authentic great Chinese food.

Assata G.

Yelp
Called ahead to place a takeout order, ended up arriving almost an hour after ordering, but the food was nicely packed and kept warm and fresh until I arrived. The cashew chicken was spicy and delightful, and the fried rice and wings were sooo fresh n tasty. Definitely my new go to Chinese takeout

Tregonie W.

Yelp
I would have given it 5 stars the food was awesome customer service could have been better.

Audrey B.

Yelp
Gosh does this pain me to write.... The place is a wonderful family owned restaurant that due to the proximity I always was ready to return to. However, to be honest, it a bit hit or miss. I love a lot of their food especially the lunch menu. I have always gone for their fried shrimp or maybe orders of wings. However, I can't say I always enjoy it. I have taken out and eat in in this place but until I went with family did I not get the confirmation that the food has a way of being really good or over done. Non-the-less the family is again always been wonderful courtesy and welcoming.

Brendan H.

Yelp
Went with a group of five. Beer was ice cold. We split the dinner for 5 combo. Sizzling rice soup was perfect in its simplicity. Egg roll was small but which was a good thing because there was a lot of food. We ate 80% of what was put in front of us. Subbed out sweet and sour pork for mu shu pork which was prepared for us table side. Tasty with perfect amount of sauce. Beef and shrimp were awesome. Garlic chicken was good. Mixed vegetables were good. I know this sounds silly but they had the best fortune cookie I ever had. .

Surf W.

Yelp
Very attentive service. Enjoyed some well prepared veggie mushu which was rolled at the table. My co worker ordered the Hunan Chicken which was devoured. Great job!

Debia M.

Yelp
Imperial Chinese Garden is a solid local Chinese restaurant. My husband and I normally get carry out, so I can't speak to the interior ambiance or the service except that the dinners are always ready to go very quickly. Everything we had tonight was good, but the hot and sour soup was uncharacteristically bland. Not bad, but not zingy. The General Tso's Chicken was yummy, and the Kung Pao Chicken was good but a little on the sweet side. Serving sizes are ample, as well. We'll definitely be back.

Shawn T.

Yelp
This chinese food can barely satisfy a sunday hangover craving.. Stay away, it's way over priced. For half of the $$$ you spend here you can hit up the New china in the kroger shopping center. The food is way better and a lot cheaper.

Bob N.

Yelp
I have been a customer since the 80's and have a special place in my heart for the restaurant. So, this is hopefully a one off experience I enjoyed today. I ordered a beef dish described as fried beef in a spicy sweet sauce...The dish was neither spicy or sweet, instead, it was basically flavorless. I also ordered an egg roll and got three very small rolls that were in no way reminiscent of the large overly stuffed rolls of the past.

Nao J.

Yelp
I went in for lunch on Monday (7/23/18). The decor is outdated and the entire place could very much use a deep cleaning. I ordered egg drop soup and sesame chicken. They add tofu and carrots to their egg drop soup. The tofu was moldy and the owner came to the table, smashed the tofu between her fingers in front of me and proceeded to tell me that it could not be mold because their is no mold on the inside. "All their ingredients are fresh", is what she kept repeating to me. Let's just say that I had the stomach flu the following day. I will never set foot in that restaurant again. AND I paid for the entire bill!

Jordan W.

Yelp
THE BEST CHINESE FOOD EVER!!! The new owners are awesome. The food is SO fresh, the portions are large, and the staff is attentive and kind. It is the best Kung Pao chicken and Hot and Sour soup I've had. We had a party of 7 and every single dish was delicious. You HAVE to come and try this place! :)

Brenda R.

Yelp
I did not plan to come here but wow! Excellent lunch items. I got beef broccoli. It tasted great, was made fresh and arrived quickly.

Susan K.

Yelp
Met the new owners tonight and they were very friendly! The food was delicious as usual. I ordered vegetable shrimp and fried rice. The shrimp were huge! I definitely recommend that you come to this restaurant!

Elizabeth A.

Yelp
Our favorite Chinese restaurant anywhere. We started going when we lived nearby. Although we no longer live in Georgia, when we visit, it's on our "list." THE BEST sizzling rice soup & Mongolian beef. Clean. Family-run for generations. Always good to see Mr Chiou - happy to hear he's taking his well-deserved retirement and that the restaurant is remaining in the family.

Jay E.

Yelp
Wait: What was that??? Saturday evening (3/10/17) we decided to grab dinner at my favorite Chinese restaurant in the Stone Mountain area. It was an hour before closing. As I was about to enter, I turned to see the biggest rat I've ever seen running along the side of the building. I was too horrified to get my phone attempt a picture. However, my spouse saw it just before I did and was already back in the car declaring "I will never eat there again". While it was outside not far from the from door, it does not attest to the conditions inside. Yet, the shear size indicates not only a clear rodent issue but rodents very well adjusted and at home.

AUDREY B.

Yelp
Really good food and fantastic, considerate service. I called in a to-go order and they called me half an hour before the scheduled pick up time to make sure I was on time because they wanted the food as fresh as possible for me when I picked up. I couldn't believe it. Amazing service! Our favorites are the Mongolian Beef, Mooshu Pork and General Tso's Chicken.

Lynn A.

Yelp
It actually hurts to write this review because I have gone here since the 90s. But I have to say it has been a real disappointment lately. The food has become bland, too sweet, or zero taste if that is possible. The general tso chicken was hard and way too sweet. The same for the Mongolian beef way too sweet. The sesame chicken was more soggy bread than it was chicken. The Phoenix and Dragon had zero flavor. None of us were happy with our meals. I'm sorry I can not see us coming back. The owners and staff are very friendly.
