A Lincoln institution reborn in a smaller, modern space. Documented by the Lincoln Journal Star, the move preserved a decades-long legacy dating to 1983. Classic Cantonese favorites, banquet dishes, and warm hospitality carry on here.

Good lunch deal, $14 post tax and tip! Awesome service with awesome interior decorations and ambience. Other places might have slightly larger meat portions (though to be fair, Imperial Kitchen lunch special includes tea and soup, which many places don't), but this place is still better overall for experience.

As a Chinese American who has lived in China, LA, and NYC, I understand regional differences in American Chinese food. However, the fried rice here was shockingly bad—it tasted like plain rice with soy sauce dumped on it. No wok hei (breath of the wok), no aromatics like green onion, no depth from white pepper or Shaoxing wine. Just bland, one-note soy sauce flavor. I get that this is Americanized Chinese food in Nebraska, but even basic takeout joints in small towns usually get fried rice somewhat right. How is this place rated so highly? Maybe other dishes are better, but if the fried rice is any indication, I’d skip it.

Stopped in for the first time to get some lunch. It was absolutely delicious for only $10! Fresh meat, vegetables and hot when received. Egg drop soup good, crab rangoon good as well. Served with hot tea and fortune cookie. Highly recommend eating here. It did not disappoint. Thank you to the attentive staff and cook. ☆☆☆☆☆

Update: I just want to add that this has been my go-to place whenever I'm craving a succulent Chinese meal. They're consistently good, and whenever I'm feeling a bit adventurous, their menu has a lot to offer. Seriously, go here. This place is amazing! I ordered the beef and tomatoes and the scallion pancakes. The complimentary tea was good as well. I'm definitely gonna come back and try their other dishes.

Google
Very surprised by the menu ingredients. Not your typical Cookie cutter Chinese restaurant. Good Hot N Sour soup and the Garlic shrimp was what you expect to eat. Not breaded, but actual nice shrimp and we'll portioned. The complimentary Oolong tea was perfect. Staff had no issues adding an ingredient and were attentive. Nice clean place. Will experiencing more flavors soon

Every dish we have ordered has been excellent. Any Asian restaurant that serves tea is good by me. The crab Rangoon is awesome.

We love eating at Imperial Kitchen! The food is delicious and dare I say the best Chinese in Lincoln! We always have very quick service as well. Our whole family loves it from young to old! Plus super affordable!

Yelp
Good location in the Leighton Plaza, plenty of parking and easy to access, good service with a large menu to please everyone, good prices with decent size portions. Overall food is decent nothing amazing in my opinion, didn't impress enough to remember this spot next time we are craving Chinese food.

Yelp
The last couple of times we been here they are consistently quick, fast, and food is still coming out piping hot. We love doing family style dinners here. Our favorites are the Kung pao chicken, green beans, hot sour soup, and the seafood plate, all reasonable prices!

Yelp
I chose to go here for my birthday get together with family. We used to go to the original location all the time growing up. I'm so glad that they're still around and the food is as delicious as ever! I always get a lot of food. Peanut butter chicken or Mongolian beef are my go tos. Their spring rolls and crab Rangoon are so delicious as appetizers. Definitely would recommend! :)

Yelp
My regular spot for Chinese in all of Lincoln, Ne. Both their regular and authentic menu have large portions and are incredibly satisfying. The coconut milk shrimp and spicy crispy chicken from the regular menu as well as the claypot style pork belly with preserved vegetables and braised beef brisket from the authentic menu are my personal favorites.

Yelp
If you want authentic Chinese food, this is the place to go. They have two menus. One is the normal menu. Ask them for the more authentic Chinese menu. It's in English so you'll have no problem ordering.

Yelp
Pork belly and soy sauce, and boiled chicken with onion and ginger. Both great flavor. The staff are friendly. Good place for authentic Chinese.

Yelp
Delicious! Fresh! Husband and I got lunch. I ordered peanut butter chicken and he ordered Chinese style beef noodle soup. Service is quick, food is hot and tasty! GET THE SOUP! Peanut butter chicken was so crispy and yummy!

Yelp
The food has been consistently good for the past 25 years we've been eating here. We usually get the mongolian beef, tso's chicken, and crab rangoon. The mongolian beef is not too sweet and usually cut in not-too-thick slices. Sometimes it is better than others, but it is never bad. The crab rangoon is not dainty-thin but wraps are not thick and greasy either. They are perfect, in my opinion. The cumin beef is a new favorite - but (like Nebraska) it's not for everyone. It has a LOT of whole cumin seeds. The owner is friendly and we love this place...although I miss the spaciousness and character of the old building

Yelp
I read all the reviews before coming so I was expecting great service and even better food. Well the service is good but the food was just ok. It was a let down. Walked in was sat down and they gave us water and hot tea never asked what we may want to drink or anything. My chicken wings where cold in the middle and they were supposedly fried. Almond chicken and hunan chicken tasted the same. Egg drop soup had chicken and some peas with carrots like that has never happened to me when I get egg drop soup. Nothing was like wow that is great but nothing was awful.

Yelp
My chicken fried rice was terrible. The rice was not fried only boiled or steamed, no flavor. NEXT to no chicken in it, only two small pieces, a few peas. No egg or scallions in it. I was informed that this was/is the Imperial Palace, but they changed their name and moved to a new location. Even the egg rolls were extra bad. The cabbage filling was very soggy. On the plus side. It arrived in only about 25 minutes and the Diet Coke was good. The bill was 24.00 way too much for bad food. The other review said it was fresh. I had fresh bad food.

Yelp
I really like the food. We have been regulars for a long time and enjoy their take out. The only issue is that they keep raising prices. I understand the times are tough but it is getting more pricey.

Frank R.

Yelp
Definitely a 1st and last for us. The food was soggy with aged broccoli and a mushy consistency. We had heard good things about this place but we were very disappointed. Difficult to find good Chinese in Lincoln but now I can definitely remove this one from the list. Not sure how they stay in business.
