Been wanting to check this place out and since today I couldn't decide what to eat, I thought I'd come here and check it out (Finally!)
We went on a Thursday around lunch time (12:30-ish) and it wasn't crowded. There were 10 other parties besides us which was a little surprising.
Comparing to Buffet @ Asia and Krazy Buffet, the place is bigger, cleaner and seems to have a good quality food and a lot of options. Their layout and vibes as well as food placement (the buffet) seem cleaner.
Lunch was $27.99/person and drinks are additional. Their time limit is 90 minutes. I don't recall the other 2 places have a time limit but then again, I never paid attention. I only noticed it here cuz they posted it.
They have boiled crab legs but those were bland to me. Other seafood options were good: cooked scallops, claims, shrimp, octopus were plenty along with different sushi rolls.
There is a small dim sum section and your typical fried check clean, eggrolls, fried wontons with cream cheese which I LOVE but here, it is a little on the sweet side for me.
The good highlights for me:
- various and different flavors/ways for clams, octopus, shrimp
-big beef ribs that were cooked to a reduced sauce which was savory and sweet
-fried rice was simple but flavorful
-hit and sour souo and daikon soup were tasty
-some sushi rolls really hit the spot!
-soups were tasty
-real ice cream, not soft serve sugary stuff (they will scoop for you)
-they have a stir fry se tuôn where you pick your items and a guy behind the buffet stir fry it for you
-clean buffet area, floors and bathroom
-full utensils are available and provided (some places do not even have knives!)
-not a high light but interesting: they have fried frog legs (and they realy do taste like chicken! lol)
What could be better:
- boiled crab legs and mussels were bland
-dim sum items didn't look appealing to me. Maybe cuz there were so many other entrees around, so I didn't care for dim sum then.
-the temp of the hot entrees aren't hot. It was luke warm. So if you like your food hot in temp, keep that in mind.
-the lady was attentive and kept the hot area clean by wiping down the buffet BUT I saw her picked up a couple of dropped items and returned them back to the serving dish. I appreciate that she keeps the area clean but to put back dropped items, that was a little bit of a turn off for me. I think maybe she wasn't aware that she shouldn't have done that cuz she looked determined in keeping the area spotless--to a fault, lol
This place is like a Kohl's equivalent when Buffet at Asia and Krazy Buffet are the Walmart equivalent. That's why it is a little more in prices. And like both Kohl's and Walmart, they have different things, so it just depends on which has what you need/want and taste budd and pricing.
