4⭐️ (can try if pass by): Ordered century egg and pork congee, char siew puff, salted egg yolk bun, and chicken feet.
4.5⭐️ The century egg and pork congee has a good aroma with noticeable pork flavor. The congee could be thicker, but it’s still enjoyable. The addition of shredded meat and crispy fried dough pieces provides a nice texture. Overall, one of the better congees I’ve had. During my 2nd visit, it has same quality.
3⭐️ The char siew puff was disappointing. The pastry had issues like “爆皮” (cracked layers) and “混酥” (mixed, uneven flakiness). It also had an oily shine on top and felt too heavy after just one. During my 2nd visit, it’s better without cracked layers but still have mixed flakiness, can give 3.5 stars now.
4⭐️ The salted egg yolk bun arrived with one bun collapsed, seemingly from the steaming process. The skin wasn’t smooth or firm, but the filling was flavorful, with a strong salted egg yolk taste and even small chunks of yolk.
4.5⭐️ The chicken feet were excellent. They weren’t watery; instead, there was a layer of flavorful oil at the bottom. The seasoning was spicy and aromatic, with the chicken feet being tender and easy to eat. One of the best dim sum chicken feet I’ve tried. During my 2nd visit, it has same quality.
2nd visit new dishes:
4⭐️ The har gow didn’t look as appealing as expected but tasted decent—fairly standard.
4⭐️ I enjoyed the char siew buns, likely because I prefer sweeter flavors. The char siew filling had a nice chew and wasn’t overly minced. But it’s too easy to fall apart. The three pieces cannot hold together, make it hard to pickup.
