MICHELIN Guide Guangzhou 2019 Selection

"Singapore export Imperial Treasure Fine Chinese Cuisine went from a MICHELIN Plate distinction in 2018 to one MICHELIN star this year. The restaurant is fastidious about its ingredients, even using different varieties of chicken for different cooking methods. Its seasonal offerings are worth a try while its signature dishes include crispy suckling pig stuffed with glutinous rice, which needs to be pre-ordered a day ahead, and sautéed fresh prawns with egg white and white truffle oil." - Rachel Tan

4⭐️ (can try if pass by): Ordered century egg and pork congee, char siew puff, salted egg yolk bun, and chicken feet. 4.5⭐️ The century egg and pork congee has a good aroma with noticeable pork flavor. The congee could be thicker, but it’s still enjoyable. The addition of shredded meat and crispy fried dough pieces provides a nice texture. Overall, one of the better congees I’ve had. During my 2nd visit, it has same quality. 3⭐️ The char siew puff was disappointing. The pastry had issues like “爆皮” (cracked layers) and “混酥” (mixed, uneven flakiness). It also had an oily shine on top and felt too heavy after just one. During my 2nd visit, it’s better without cracked layers but still have mixed flakiness, can give 3.5 stars now. 4⭐️ The salted egg yolk bun arrived with one bun collapsed, seemingly from the steaming process. The skin wasn’t smooth or firm, but the filling was flavorful, with a strong salted egg yolk taste and even small chunks of yolk. 4.5⭐️ The chicken feet were excellent. They weren’t watery; instead, there was a layer of flavorful oil at the bottom. The seasoning was spicy and aromatic, with the chicken feet being tender and easy to eat. One of the best dim sum chicken feet I’ve tried. During my 2nd visit, it has same quality. 2nd visit new dishes: 4⭐️ The har gow didn’t look as appealing as expected but tasted decent—fairly standard. 4⭐️ I enjoyed the char siew buns, likely because I prefer sweeter flavors. The char siew filling had a nice chew and wasn’t overly minced. But it’s too easy to fall apart. The three pieces cannot hold together, make it hard to pickup.

I visited this restaurant with my colleagues to celebrate the year-end, and it was a delightful experience. While I’m not an expert in Chinese cuisine, we enjoyed a few delicious dishes recommended by my colleagues and the menu. The food and service were top-notch, as expected from fine dining. Though it was a bit lively due to some younger guests, the festive atmosphere made it easy to overlook. We were so caught up in conversations and the great vibe that time flew by. I can see this being a fantastic spot for families as well. Looking forward to coming back and trying even more amazing dishes!

The duck was tasty and the food overall was good. However, the service left much to be desired.. we weren’t even greeted by our waitress when we sat down, which made us feel unwelcome from the start. For the price point, we expected a more elevated experience, both in service and ambiance. While the location is pleasant, it’s nothing particularly special. I’ve had better duck at more affordable places, so unfortunately, this visit didn’t quite live up to the expectations.

Great service, fine food, quiet ambiance for you to talk and enjoying the food. Can be cold in the restaurant, love their porridge, very much!

We had the Set Meal B for lunch today. Despite noticing quite a few bad reviews, my experience was positive. The food was okay, but the service was excellent. The staff were very attentive to our table: our cups of tea were always filled, dirty plates were replaced promptly, and extra plates were provided for hot dishes to cool down before eating. We had some small conversations with the staff, which made our stay more pleasant. Overall, I really appreciated the great hospitality shown to us.

We opted to dine here due to the lack of queues, unlike the usual long lines at MBS over the weekends. Despite the convenience, our meal consisted of three simple dishes and tea, yet left us with a hefty bill of $185 SGD. While the food was enjoyable, it didn't quite justify the steep price tag. However, the exceptional service made up for it, with servers attentively refilling our tea throughout the meal. Despite later discovering it's a Michelin-starred restaurant, we felt the food didn't meet the high expectations associated with such accolades. The ambience was pleasant though, earning it an overall rating of 3.7 stars.

Dining at Imperial Treasure at Jewel Changi was an unforgettable fine dining experience. This place exudes elegance from the moment you walk in, setting the stage for an exceptional meal. I was especially excited to try their signature Peking Duck, and it absolutely delivered! 🦆✨ The duck took a bit of time to prepare, but it was well worth the wait. As this was my first time tasting Peking Duck, I was blown away by the flavors. The skin was caramelized to perfection—beautifully crispy with just the right hint of sweetness. The meat itself was incredibly tender and juicy, melting in every bite. We complemented the duck with some rice and a few side dishes, which added to the experience and balanced out the flavors. Each dish was presented beautifully, and the attention to detail was impressive. The service here is equally remarkable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel special from start to finish. Overall, Imperial Treasure is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience fine dining at Jewel. The food, the ambiance, and the service all come together to create a memorable experience. Highly recommended! 🥢🍽️

Yelp
We had a delightful Lunch experience at Imperial Treasure. The seafood, the soup and pork dishes surely added depth and flavor to our meal. We were exploring new culinary horizons by trying black chicken for the first time was an interesting flavor. the service was attentive.

Yelp
This is a better shop that the outlet in Paragon. The service is better. When I asked for the duck I ordered to be chopped up and serve on the table. It is exactly it. Unlike the Paragon outlet where you get someone else's what seem like overnight duck drenched in some unidentifiable salty sauce. The Peking duck is also tastier at this outlet.

Yelp
We could not have chosen a better place to celebrate mom's 97th birthday. Excellent, professional and very pleasant staff. From the start to being seated at our tables. Then of course we oooh'd and ahhh'd at the superb performance and skill of the chef who initiated the expert cutting of our first and second servings of Peking Duck. I now know why it is called the Imperial Peking Duck. We felt like we were royalty from the Imperial era. From the absolutely refined slicing of the crisp thin skin to slivers of the most delectable roasted meats into bouncy steamed buns with just enough sauce and greens...Mmmmm. We also had scallops, steamed fish and other wonderful dishes, but the Peking Duck is a must. I shall return. Review was for a visit to Singapore end April 2017.

Yelp
Excellent dim sum. Tends to be on the smaller and more delicate side of portions. Lo bac guo loses something out on a tray instead of fresh off the griddle cart, but that's expected in a place like this. The only real weakness is the har cheung fun, which is much too thick-- good flavor but disappointing. That said you're paying for location, atmosphere, service, and quality, so keep that in mind!

Yelp
Not that the dim sum here is bad by any means but given the intense competition among dim sum places in Singapore, the prices here and the overall consistency of my dim sum experience, I just couldn't bring myself to give this place 4 stars (blame Yelp for not having a 3.5 star option!). So a restaurant at Marina Bay Sands - expect heftier prices than usual, which I came mentally prepared for (although $7 for an hour of parking was really harsh, but that's no fault of this restaurant). Let's go into the nuts and bolts of it: The good: Really good pu-er tea (not your typical Crystal Jade chinese tea experience), which was amazingly still fragrant on the 2nd refill. The dumplings ("ha kau" and "siew mai") were delicious. Not overly heavy on the meats in these but sufficient to be succulent without feeling too greasy. The char siew bao / pork bun was also really good - the meat was sufficiently fatty, which is becoming a rarity in health-conscious Singapore. Service was also impeccable, they were pretty much stealthy ninjas who refilled your teapot while you were conversing. The bad: The shrimp/prawn roll ("cheong fun") was really quite disappointing, way too many layers wrapping the prawns, so it doesn't absorb the soy sauce sufficiently to create a balance of flavours. Steamed carrot cake was also a little too tough and bland for my preference - I really prefer it when the texture is softer with more flavour (I'm thinking of the one at Wah Lok@Carlton Hotel as an example). The latter might be more a personal thing, though. I really wanted to give this place 4* but when you trot out $5 or so per plate of dim sum, the expectations do go up and it's a shame. It's not a bad experience - I would give this place another try because there's so much going for it, but definitely avoiding those 2 dishes if I do return for lunch.

Yelp
This is the best dim sum I've found so far in Singapore. I still miss the ladies with the pushcarts like in Hong Kong or New York, but I think I just have to accept that that's a dying tradition. All the standard dishes are tasty, and they have a lot of my old favorites from New York that are for some reason hard to find in Singapore, like beef balls, the large, super-processed and unnaturally soft meatballs with watercress. Plus, it's in Marina Bay Sands so in a pinch you can book a room to nap in when the food coma sets inn

Yelp
Best food we had during our stay in Singapore. Excellent service and elegant surroundings. Don't miss their Carrot Cake XO as an appetizer, it was simply one of the best things I've eaten. We actually returned a second time just to have it again. Waiter was very helpful providing suggestions... all of them excellent.
