The Sherman Oaks In-N-Out is easily one of my favorite spots for a perfect burger every single time. From the moment you pull up, the place is buzzing with energy, and the smell of fresh-grilled patties hits you right away. The menu may be simple, but that’s exactly what makes In-N-Out so great — they’ve mastered the art of fresh, quality food without overcomplicating it. I always go for an Animal Style Double-Double, and it never disappoints. The beef is juicy and flavorful, the cheese is perfectly melted, the lettuce and tomatoes are always crisp and fresh, and the grilled onions with their special spread are pure magic. The fries are cut from fresh potatoes right here in the store, and I like to get mine well-done for extra crunch. If you’re a milkshake fan, the chocolate or Neapolitan shakes here are thick, creamy, and made with real ice cream — the perfect way to round out the meal. Even during the busy lunch or dinner rush, the staff keeps things moving quickly while staying friendly and professional. The inside is spotless, the kitchen is open so you can watch your food being made, and the outdoor seating is great if you want to enjoy that California weather. Parking in the back is a huge plus for this location too. Every visit here reminds me why In-N-Out is a California classic — fresh ingredients, great service, and a burger that’s worth every bite. Consistently the best burgers. I will admit it, In-N-Out is probably one of the main food-related things that I look forward to when I come to the US.

I love In-N-Out. I've visited this establishment for over 20 years. The drive thru is busy, but the staff is amazing and handles it well. Because of my health issues, I don't have the appetite that I once had. I dropped in for a hamburger and was not disappointed. And where can you still get a quality burger for $4.11 in today's economy?

In-N-Out Burger's hamburgers are far superior to other fast-food chains. Their made-to-order process ensures each burger maintains optimal flavor, unlike the typically dry buns and patties found at regular fast-food restaurants. Every bite offers a perfect combination of ingredients: juicy freshly-grilled beef, crisp fresh lettuce, and unique special sauce, with all components perfectly balanced. This burger joint, maintaining its consistency for 70 years, creates the perfect burger using the simplest ingredients. Each layer is a delightful surprise: soft outer buns, aromatic beef patties, and rich yet balanced sauce. No wonder it turns first-time customers into loyal fans without them even realizing it!

A solid place to go to for a late night snack when you needed. My go to favorite is a smoothie and a double double burger with the fries can’t go wrong with that combination. They got the best food service and atmosphere most importantly their food is fresh meat. I would choose them over McDonald’s any day. If you havent been here and you’re coming from out of town this is the place to be at.

Best burger in LA. Good prices, good location not too crowded, very good staff, consistent quality, can sometimes get overcrowded on weekends as usual, but the lines moves fast and efficiently. If dining inside I recommend groups of 2 or 3 any bigger and you’re asking for a long wait.

Raised in Los Angeles area, so whenever I'm in town, I love to stop by In-N-Out Burger. Place is open late and drive thru is always busy with long line. I parked in the private parking lot this time and got my order to go (single burger, fries and drink). Line inside was not that long, however there was wait time to receive my order. Staff was friendly and able to answer requests. The place is for all ages. There are many many locations in CA with outdoor dining options. Meat is not frozen. French fries are made from fresh, whole potatoes and are hand diced. One can even order a hamburger without the bun. In-N-Out serves burgers, fries, and shakes across five states: CA, NV, AZ, UT, and TX. Next time I will get their o so great shakes. Cheers!

Regulars at the location, my bf was craving a burger and fries last night. We hopped in the drive thru and it took longer than usual at 8pm on a Sunday night, guess we weren't the only ones with this idea! There is a large parking lot but we didn't want to walk in (raining and freezing out) The worker was outside hiding under an umbrella poor thing. The best part about in n out is the fantastic service you receive and that I have never had an order be placed incorrectly. I love that the product quality is always the following the highest of standards and they are a well oiled machine! They get the orders in and made fresh and precisely. This drive thru had a window in to the kitchen and the staff works sooo diligently and they're always working together. Ordered a double double, animal style, protein style burger, an animal style fries, a protein style burger and spread on the side. Thanks for the fantastic meal! The secret menu is accommodating for gluten free if you get it protein or (lettuce wrapped) vegetarians can order a grilled cheese sandwich here as well. They have great milk shakes and pink lemonade Also appreciate the price doesn't raise because it's not a normal chain!

I've been finding myself at this In-N-Out Burger more & more throughout the past few months & it just keeps getting Better! Wonderfully Kind staff, Incredibly Delicious food, & Unbeatable Prices are in your future if you plan on visiting not only this location, but All other In-N-Out Burger locations across the United States. There's a reason Top-Tier chefs such as Gordon Ramsay give In-N-Out Burger its Much Deserved Praise.. even late-great Anthony Bourdain has said on-record that 'the Greatest restaurant in Los Angeles' is In-N-Out Burger. Just this month, In-N-Out Burger opened their First location in Idaho & patrons waited in lines 'Up to 8 Hours' to get their hands on *my opinion* THE BEST burger Planet Earth has Ever consumed! Really, who needs a 'Michelin Star' when you can get the Most Tasty, Timeless meal around *most likely down the street from you* for not even $15? THAT's what a Hamburger is ALL about. :*)

They were super friendly here and very efficient. Plenty of inside seating, a drive-through and a large parking lot outside. The burgers and fries were good, fairly priced and made quickly. Great for kids or affordable and fasting option in the area!

Go in with low expectations, leave mildly satisfied. Go in with high expectations, leave mildly satisfied. The fries were done animal style, which I hoped would add lots of flavor and enhance one of the world's great comfort foods. Unfortunately, it was about as comforting as trying to nap under a wet blanket. But I hear the fries are always soggy and underwhelming so I guess this was not an atypical experience. That being said, the burger and chocolate milkshake were both pretty good! So next time (if there is one) I'd likely just get simple cheeseburger and be in and out. The servers were Chick-Fil-A level friendly however. So that was a great bonus. One happy fella walked around and gave out those dope paper hats so my headgear game would be on point. Overall, a solid 2.5/5 experience. Nice.

Well my battle with In n Out continues - considering that the line was moving extra slow today, you would think that my request for fries WELL done was not honored ! They came out regular style, as pictured below. I'm not sure if the store was short staffed on the holiday, but there was no order taker outside and 1.5 windows open today - it took a minute for a cashier to appear .

You lost a lifetime Customer forever......as hard as you try to be super courteous, as you always have been. FIRE that stupid Security Guard whose constantly at Pineapple Hill Bar...he caused the whole thing

Why do you think there's always a long car line? It's cause in n out is as amazing as it comes for a drive thru burger. They have kept the same ingredients and freshness since their inception which is why you always get the same consistency in their burgers. They don't have per se a "secret menu" but you can pretty much customize the burger with whatever ingredients they have. I recently tried a protein style burger with grilled whole onions as the bun instead of the lettuce and added chopped peppers. This was fantastic and so good. If you like great food and fast service this is the place to eat. I generally go inside as it seems faster than the car line. I'll be back again.

Store 85 is the best in and out burger. I truly love coming here; the smell, the food, and best of all the customer service. Tonight a guy named Jaron M. took my order and literally changed my entire mood. I witnessed a puppy being walked by its owner get kicked in its face literally!!! By a strange man on the street. It ruined my entire day. I was really not happy. But i came to get a burger and Jaron made me laugh, he asked how i was and i didnt even answer so he made a joke and said he was doing great, and his happy energy rubbed off on me. I feel happier now. The burger also helped it was hot and fresh. The store was clean. The energy was exciting and thanks to Jaron i just feel better.

I tried the Flying Dutchman with Grilled Onions and it wasn't my thing. It was just too messy. I will stick to the In-N-Out regular menu for now.

The worse In-N-Out I've ever been to. True, I've only been twice, however once my order was cold and wrong and the other time it was just cold.

Not sure why in-and-out needs a review but here ya go! Of course it's good, with good service! Tastes just like every single in and out burger in so cal. Get you a chocolate milk shake!

Freshhhh In and out, Burger took a while to come out but it was good. I was literally the only car in line, Sunday night was wrapping around the corner for it. It's funny how certain days are busier then others.

What is there to add to the other reviews? In n Out is by far the healthiest fast food burger spot. Never frozen beef, fresh veggies chopped in house, real whole potatoes sliced into fries. With that kind of quality, prices should easily be way higher but they only raise their price a little bit at a time. McDonald's, Carl's Jr, Jack In The Box, etc all have burger combos that are easily $10 or more while their ingredients are nowhere as fresh. You won't find all those preservatives and things you can't spell at In n Out. I've been on In n Out diets more than a few times, where I ate only In n Out burgers for weeks on end (different additions, Animal Style, etc) to switch it up. Recently I finally gained weight after being skinny and tall my entire life - gained 50 pounds in 3 months and most went to fat. By ordering burgers with no salt patties, extra veggies, and ketchup/mustard instead of spread, I'm keeping my calories low but still eating fire fast food. I sometimes get it Protein Style to kill the carbs but very rarely lol, their bread is too good. I feel bad for the states that are too far away to have In n Out. We are blessed in LA, I have 2 locations within 10 miles of my house haha But the main reasons I'm leaving a review for this specific location - their drive thru line is the FASTEST line by FAR. You'll see the line spilling out onto the street as if the cars are parked by the curb and may be frustrated thinking it will take 20+ minutes... Nope, every single time I've lined up down the street with 15+ cars, it's taken 10 minutes max. Even with the chaotic lines and orders, every order taker has always been calm, friendly, and patient - AND I'VE NEVER GOTTEN ANY CUSTOM ORDER WRONG, even if there was a huge line!! And the cashiers are always smiling and never show any signs of being annoyed. I've gone here more times than I can count. Keeping prices low even for high quality food is a great business tactic - selling a LOT quickly is better than charging bougie prices and having less customers. Highly recommend this specific location!

Friendly place. Busy but fast. For a fast food burger, this is the place to be at 1pm.

In-N-Out Van Nuys is a go to for my friends, family and traditional burger lovers a-like. It's always clean (both inside and out), busy drive-thru through efficient and a comfort food spot for most. I can't really have much here due to dietary restrictions and a rare sunflower allergy so this review is absolutely not for me hahaha but for those I know appreciate a reliable chain like this one. They do offer a "veggie burger" which consist of a bun with lettuce, tomato, onions and sauces of choice that is vegan friendly. Vegetarians can add a slice of cheese. The fries are 100% plant-based and I've had them before with almost no reaction I just personally don't love the paper-like feel. Yet despite those paper cardboard fries salted well with a touch of pepper and friend in sunflower seed only that nobody is actually a super fan of but prefer to standard run of the meal slice potatoes and even more so especially in animal style form... It's a reliable joint with great service and a variety of fountain beverages. The have outdoor tables on the left just off Moorpark where this famous fast food joint resides intersecting with Van Nuys Blvd. Hopefully at some point I & O will introduce something more filling for plant-based options especially since they're one of the only ones left that doesn't offer at the moment. Do love that you can get anything lettuce wrapped aka protein style which is cool if you're gluten-free, but I'd imagine they can't be a completely wheat-free kitchen unless prepared in a special area.

In-N-Out is always consistently good, and this location is no different. I ordered my usual double double and well-done fries. Both tasted as expected, and the fries were just the right crispiness. What surprised me was despite being my order number being 10 ish away, they filled and had it ready within 10 minutes - quite quick! Unfortunately like most In-N-Outs, though, one con is that there is always a long wait time via Drive Thru. In fact, the drive thru line ended up causing traffic.

Hit the drive thru tonight after soccer. My double double protein style with extra lettuce was moist and fresh. They are reliable and consistent, The kids enjoyed their cheeseburgers and fries. The fries are always hot and crisp. As usual the service was polite, and brisk and the food was delicious and affordable. The interaction at the window took just 12 seconds (I counted). Why would anyone go to McDonald's or Burger King in the era of In-N-Out.....?

I feel horrible giving an in n out nothing other than 5 stars but this particular location has the slowest moving drive thru out of any location I've tried by far. The line isn't even that long it just moves at a snails pace. Update : I just asked the order taker why it's been so slow recently. She said they no longer walk down the line to take orders in advance because they get attacked by homeless and it's not safe. Welcome to Los Angeles. Upgrading back to 5 stars. This is our city leaders fault not the restaurant. I feel so bad for the young lady taking orders. Ugh.

I love In-N-Out, always love the consistency in the food. I stopped by after work for a burger to be utterly disappointed and for the first time hating my choice for dinner. Because i grew up waiting at the In-N-out lines, seeing the drive-thru at 11:30pm i parked and went inside for my order. I ordered and waited as usual, the more time that went by the lack of communication and hospitality became apparent. I was given my food and waited another 30 minutes on a hot chocolate. Simply because one one was available to make it. The Cashier kept looking back for the drink yet never called it out. Instead when i asked how long would it take for the one drink i was repeatedly told it's coming. I expressed my concern, my food was getting cold. Another 10 minutes went by and nothing, instead she kept taking orders. I left with cold food, missing the hot chocolate and discourages from ever coming to this location.

Food was good. Service was good. Busy place for a burger chain I just was expecting a little more.

So freaking delicious! This was my first time having In-N-Out in many years and man oh man did I miss it! For some reason it tastes just so healthy, ha! I have been told the burgers are fresh and never frozen, maybe that is why! this location was super fast. We parked and went in to eat and the area was very clean. restroom was super clean too! The employee taking our order was really friendly and our food came out quick. Fries are so good and taste so fresh -unlike processed fries from other fast food places. their special sauce is sooo delicious and they even gave us an extra packet of it for our friends! highly recommend this location.

Like all the other locations, the food here is delicious and great quality! The inside is set up the same as all of their other locations. The staff is friendly. But make sure to double check your orders. We went last night and there were extra items charged to us and fries that were not prepared the way we had requested. Of course that is partially my fault for not double checking the receipt after we ordered but I normally don't due to the precision this company usually has. This has happened a couple of times. Not going to give up on them though. The food is too good and extremely affordable when put up to other fast food options.

For a fast food joint, the burgers are good. But the worst burger I ever had in a restaurant was ten times better than this one. The fries are the absolute worst of any fast food restaurant in the entire world, including a particularly seedy joint I happened upon in Thailand. I will admit that their prices can't be beat, but their food sure as hell can be.

No need to go into much detail, almost everyone is familiar with In-N-Out, especially if you're born and raised in CA. I often dream about this place and really wish we had a chain in GA so whenever I go back to my home state (CA) I'm stopping at least once for my favorite meal. It was a late Saturday night and closest location to my hotel was in Sherman Oaks and it was BUSY! Line was down the street but it moved pretty quickly...no surprise.   Great service and efficient workers and no problems with my order. I ordered a grilled cheese animal style, animal style fries and a regular root beer float. Thing about In-N-Out is there is a secret menu so check it out before you arrive. My meal was so Prefect and I ate every last bite!!

No way it should take 30mins to receive one single cheeseburger. No matter if it's busy, there should be a better way to queue peoples orders if it's a small one. Foods not even that good for one. Check out FOR THE WIN if you want a real smash burger.

I frequent this location often. ROCIO and JOSE stand out for their kindness towards me and other customers! Thank you both for always making my visit a pleasant and positive experience! I'm sure I'm not the only one who notices...and of course I love IN-N-OUT burger since I was a kid and my dad would take me to the La Puente location after he would get off work! 45 minutes waiting in a drive-thru, just ridiculous and waste of time. At least food is good.

I have been an In-N-Out fan my entire life, but this store consistently gets our order wrong. If I order a chocolate shake, it might be chocolate, but it's just as likely to be vanilla or chocolate vanilla swirl. It's almost stunning how often this happens. And we do drive-through so I don't discover it until we get home and it's too late to do something about it.

It was burgers. Better than Wendy McKing burgers, but not, like, amazing. Solid quality, fresh and tasty. The French fries would have been delicious if I had eaten them while they were still hot- that's on me, not them. The best part is that I saw a sign that said you can ask any staff member for, among other things, chilies. So I asked for "a couple," and she handed me two little tubs with several pickled chilies in each! They really fettled up the burger. Two burgers, one order of fries, a Coke, and a thick, delicious, chocolate shake came to just over $15.

I always enjoy a trip to In-N-Out Burger. Their burgers are the best fast food burgers in the world! Don't forget to get your fries animal style!

I placed my order, then walked over to the restroom as I entered. I heard a guy just drop a mean shit sounded brutal as I was washing my hands I noticed the gentleman come out of the bathroom. He was an In-N-Out employee literally just went by me didn't even wash his hands as I came outside and waited for my number to be called and I approached the counter I realize that the guy was the same guy making burgers I mean what else can I say fuck the 45 minute wait I'm working soon with the guy of wiping his ass so after you shit it where is health department and all this

Absolutely freaking delicious. Everything was on point today from the toasty buns to the right ratio of animal style to the fact that it was almost no line at the register walking in (guess people prefer to wait 45 min for drive thru vs 10 going inside?). Very strong

Out tonight trying to get a burger tonight. Very simple I wish I got that name of the lady who took my order cause she's not fit to work there. I asked very simple PROTEIN STYLE DOUBLE DOUBLE NO SPREAD NO CHEESE. They bring me non protein style with bread. Then they re made again the idiots that work there . They bring a protein style WITH CHEESE. I hope for there sake I don't get sick. Pure idiots

Used to be the go-to spot. The drive thru was always super fast no matter how long the line was but something changed. I would say it's now the slowest drive thru in the area. If fast food isn't fast, there's no point in going. Plenty of better burgers in the area. Luckily Fatburger brown the street is reopening soon. (Edit: Exactly 46 minutes from start to finish. Ridiculous. )

Big in-n-out fan here. This location has had friendly and professional staff before and during COVID times. I usually go through the drive thru and although it can be a wait, it's worth it. Tip: the drive thru line is on Moorpark going westbound. The line can be long so if you are coming from the north side, drive east along Millbank and turn right on Sylmar or Lennox (depending on line length) and then right on Moorpark and you will be in the line. Also, for those who don't know the area well, the line is right along the curb so do not try to cut anyone! The gaps are for the bus or driveway entrances.

This location for in n out is perfect. I have ordered a animal style burger and fries. The taste is absolutely delicious! The service is super fast! Everytime I eat one double double animal burger from here, it's so good and delicious that I could a second and third! I highly recommend anyone that wants an absolutely tasty burger to come to this in n out location. They know how to make a burger truly taste amazing!

I'm an avid in n out customer and usually my experience is always excellent. However, today my luck ran out when coming to the Van Nuys location. I knew something was up when the employee gave me attitude for a mistake that they made to my order and her "correcting" it turned out to be worse. Very unfortunate.

In n out is always a great choice for a good burger and fries! Honestly I have not ever had a bad experience with the food! The burger is so delicious and savory! The meal just always hits the spot! What motivated me today to write a review was the hardworking staff! Today was busy but they got out the orders QUICK! My cashier Jairo was so kind and friendly as well as Jessica was very helpful assisting us with grabbing us banana peppers and napkins.

Delicious food as always! Employees were great and fast. I had to change my baby though and there were no changing tables! That was unbelievable.

Made a super late night stop at this In-N-Out after the BTS concert and on my way back to the hotel. Made it about an hour before closing time - it was still decently busy! I want to preface this review with the fact that I love this place and I think the food is really legit and delicious, especially for the price. With that being said I also don't think it's the absolutely best fast food burger out there like some people might.... but I do really enjoy it and seek it out when I'm traveling or in an area that has In-N-Out! I went with my faves - Double Double (always)! One as is with raw onion and one animal style. I am team MEH when it comes to the fries but I do always get the animal style fries because the sauce and cheese and grilled onions make them a tad bit better. For some reason this specific location didn't really do it for me much - I feel like the food came out a little cold and just....not as fresh as usual? I know they make everything to order - not sure what happened there. Both burgers also just didn't seem quite as flavorful as usual. Again, not sure if it was just me or because it was late and almost closing time...but like the star rating suggest - this specific experience and this particular location was just OK!

One of the better In-n-out locations that I've been to... Even during COVID. This location does an excellent job of handling a high volume of customers. They're always busy, but it never feels "backed up". The food is always the quality that you would expect from an In-n-out. They have a nice large inside dining area, and a small outdoor dining section (both are closed during COVID). They're still open for drive through orders and Carry Out. The downsides to this location? They only have a shared parking lot, which has a poor layout and is difficult to get in and out of. My recommendation is to park as far away as possible and then walk up. Don't waste your time trying to cheat a spot that's closer. The drive through line wraps around the parking lot and back up Moorpark. I guess they're victims of their own success but the drive through line is poorly laid out and it can back ACTUAL traffic up on the street. It can also affect your ability to just turn on the street, or get into the parking, or get into another business (like Best Buy). I know this isn't In-n-outs fault but cars waiting in line will often block the intersections because they're scared that someone will take their place in line. It's ridiculous. But the food is always cooked well and delicious. And the staff is always friendly. It's better than some locations, but not as good as others.
