18 Places For A Big Group Meal Outside In Philly

"In Riva is a place where you can sit on a garden-like patio and look out at the Schuylkill River while biting into a few slices of wood-fired pizza. Their patio is massive and enclosed so you don’t just feel like you’re just sitting on another sidewalk setup. The large tables are perfect for groups to dive into bowls of garlic shrimp, spicy chicken parm, creamy wild mushroom bucatini, and forget that the inside of this restaurant ever existed. I Always wonder why i dont go here more often until i go here. Even on the hottest days it takes forever to get waters. The crab ravioli was single note w no sauce. The salad lacked the noted key ingredient. The octopus was both chewy and hard. Pizza for my 4 year old was descent. Priced too high for the offering. 1 of 3 drinks (water).

Google
We tried the pizzas and they were delicious, especially the dough. The service was excellent. P.S. The only thing is, for the price, the pizza could have been a bit larger. Overall, a good place.

One of my favorite spots in Philadelphia! You can bike here from Center City via Kelly Drive. The pizza is excellent—authentic Italian style. The pasta was great too, and the whipped ricotta with bread was amazing.

Service was extremely slow. The food was great, but I probably would only order takeout. It's very dark, we used the lights on our phones to look at the menu, other people dining did the same.

Google
Amazing food, Amazing drinks. Have passed this place many times and had it noted to try for some time. Finally made it there this past weekend and was so sad it’s taken me so long to come here. The food and drinks are absolutely superb. I have been in search of an establishment who knows how to craft a delicious concoction with a punch, 3 of these bourbon-lemonchello mixtures you surely will be feeling good. The food arrives quickly. So be carful to order to fast if you are feeling like drinking and grazing with friends, which is what you would want todo. All dishes are shareable, think of it as Italian Tapas. My favorite was the Branzino, well seasoned, not very fishy, amazing texture. Absolutely wonderful. Def will be back here again!

Google
Visiting from NY I was really looking forward to coming here. First let me say.. the brick oven margarita pizza was 7/10, sauce was good but that’s really it. We also had penne vodka with grilled chicken 8/10. We sat outside. The service was extremely slow. We went today (Saturday) around 8:30pm. Our server was very tied into a deep conversation with other guest sitting next to us about music or headphones- don’t really care but the fact that we had to wait 25-30 mins to put a food order in was crazy. We got our beers quick at least. I then had to wave down another server or idk if she was even a server or what her title was but I asked her about a protein option and then asked her if we can place our order with her and she let us. Order took a bit. Still no one really checked in with us at all or asked how we were doing or if we needed anything. I had to ask a food runner to bring me a glass of wine - which he never did - understandable but my server was still tied up with the guest and the whole music or headphones or idk what conversation- I then interrupted their conversation and asked for my wine. I seriously think we could have gotten up and walked out without paying that’s how much I feel like no one even cared we were there. I noticed staff hanging around the bar chatting, and drinking alcohol as well, must be nice to do on shift while you have guest waiting. Also be prepared to see mice if you sit outside, we saw 2 running in and out of where the fresh herbs were that’s planted outside. We would have ordered dessert if the service was better, even more drinks, but with that horrid service.. it was impossible to even enjoy anything. I truly hope you train your staff better, people from all over come to visit and try your food and I get that you have locals and love conversing with them - I too coming from the food industry background in NY but you seriously need to do better. I ALWAYS tip because I know how hard is it to work at a restaurant- but with service like that they’re lucky we even paid our bill.

Google
Incredible menu, cocktails, and atmosphere. Could not have asked for a better waiter and overall experience. The entire menu looked incredible so it was hard to choose. I asked the server for recommendations and each of them were a 10 out of 10. Looking forward to returning to this fantastic Italian spot.

Google
Met some colleagues here for dinner, traffic is a little loud. Food is delicious!! You do get a glimpse of the river. They could update the metal chairs to something a little more comfortable.

Yelp
Funky little place! We sat at the upstairs bar on a Saturday night. We had the place mostly to ourselves. I love the decor and energy. The bartender was running a good Playlist. He was indeed a mixologist. We enjoyed the tuxedo #2 and gold rush. Food was excellent, sausage and pepper pizza with added pepperoni and king crab spaghetti. We finished it all and we're full. The pizza had a wonderful light dough, crust was perfect. The cheese and meat were obviously high quality. The spaghetti was inventive and am excellent blend of ingredients. Would definitely recommend this place! Upstairs bar area/bartender are excellent!

Yelp
Food was good as usual, Service was good but they did forget one of our items...until we asked for it. We also ordered their rigatoni pasta with meatballs and polenta dish (which i forgot to take pics of) We sat outside and it was nice and sunny and they even brought ice water for our furry companion. Great place to grab lunch after a hike in wissahickon park or bike ride along kelly drive. Definitely solid 4 out of 5 stars.

Yelp
I've seen this place numerous times and never knew it was a restaurant. Finally a friend recommended we dine here and it was a great time. The staff was super friendly. We chatted for a bit while waiting for our table to be ready. After much debate (because everything on the menu looked so good) we ended up getting the tasting menu. Came with a number of delectable dishes under their Insalate, Antipasti, and Pizza selections. The whipped ricotta and spaghetti took the cake for me. Felt like the perfect place for a date night or girls night out. Especially the outside seating during the summer months
google avatar

Hilda S.

Yelp
Their food is fantastic! Had the octopus which was perfectly cooled and the mushroom pasta. Sunday's is half price wine so that was a treat. Our server was friendly and attentive, and the outside seating has great views of the river.
google avatar

Linette S.

Yelp
The service was good and food came out quickly. We went on a Saturday night, arrived at 6:45, we were sat right away (had a reservation), and were out and done eating by 7:50. The food was good - just wish there were mocktails.

Yelp
My family loves this spot and have seen so many of the positive changes the location has gone through since we were in college back in 2007! It's a great location right on the water! Parking lot is a little tricky but you can usually find spots on the street or the lot across the way. They also have Tuesday pizza specials and half off wine bottles on Sunday nights. Food is very good and we've never had bad service! I personally like dining outside better than inside just because of the view!

Yelp
Update after visit 2: Made it back for half off pizza night and definitely enjoyed the experience more. Ranking all 4 pizzas we tried between the two visits Id say the zucchini mushroom truffle was by far the best followed by the picante, bianco, and margherita in that order. In the future Id return for the pizza, even not on Tuesdays though the half off is a terrific deal. Tried this place on a Saturday night for dinner and sat outside facing the river. There's plenty of seating and we didnt need to wait at all, and its a great spot to have a meal outside, weather permitting. We ordered the crab spaghetti, margherita pizza, and charred octopus app. Overall everything was solid though nothing really stood out as outstanding. Each dish including the app ran about 20$ a plate, which given current restaurant pricing isnt too shabby. However, between the two of us Id say I left still a touch hungry and it wouldve been nice if the portions were a little larger. The octopus in particular was only three slightly-larger than bite size pieces and the pasta seemed like it wouldve been great had it been twice as large. Service here was also just a little slow, wouldnt recommend if youre in a rush, though the ambience was pleasant and weather nice for sitting a little bit outside. Overall, id probably rate the experience around a 3.5, but Im planning on returning to take advantage of their tuesday happy hour/half off pizza specials. The pizza was probably the best part of tonight's meal, and Im hopeful that some of their other pizzas and cocktails will impress!

Yelp
The wildest pizza craving (and procrastination from doing my work) hit me on a Friday evening. I googled "brick oven pizza" and made it to In Riva in time for happy hour. The $12 P&B happy hour deal is top tier-- any pizza and any draft beer. Not a beer girlie, my server (who was an absolute gem) recommended Downeast cider. Delicious. As for the pizza-- since I refuse to put two baddies against one another-- I got the pepperoni AND margherita. That's right. Two ciders, two pizzas, and yes I took home leftovers. Both were delicioussss but that pepperoni-- in all its zestiness-- was a definite fave. (P.S. The pizza reheats well in an oven or air fryer on low temp.)

Yelp
Beautiful place to eat outside! It feels like you aren't even in Philadelphia anymore. Pizza is delicious I had the pastas before too, and they are yummy too. Service is great and I will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
The Burrata here is probably the best I've had EVER. It's a Tapas style menu & most of the items are shareable. Outdoor seating is pretty comfortable and has shade, along with a great view of the river!
google avatar

Yelp
Everything went well. Don't live far from here and always come when I have a taste for guaranteed goodness. The menu isn't large and that's great because the few things on there are done to perfection. I always experiment with cocktails and entree pairings but the charred octopus is my staple appetizer. Parking in the front is ample and the prices are reflective of the quality. Wait staff is attentive without being overbearing and the vibe is light and airy. Spacious digs with outdoor seating and dog accommodations outside as well. You can't be disappointed with the seasonings and although dessert isn't on the menu the do have a couple things the wait staff can riddle off without a stutter. Love it
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
A little salty but good over all. I should've asked for no pistachios though. The service was great! A little cold and the lighting was really low. It was hard to see and read the menu. Overall, really good experience.

Yelp
I supported In Riva many times during the pandemic. I fell in love with their Margarita pizza and Bronzino. We got a take out order last night and was very disappointed. I suspect they may have a new chef because the food has taken turn for the worst. The pizza tastes nothing like the last time I had a Margarita pizza from there, which was about a year ago. Other than the saltiness, I could not put my finger on it, but I would not order another one. The Bronzino use to be prepared with capers, olives and lemon. Now, it has a layer of slivered garlic and capers. Way too much garlic and overpowering. Even removing the garlic could not save the meal. The only part of the meal that was enjoyed was the Arugula salad. I have no plans on dining at In Riva again, which is sad because I was fond of dining on their patio.
google avatar

Josh M.

Yelp
In Riva is hard to rival for happy hour and dinner in East Falls--or anywhere along the Schuylkill for that matter. I always get great service. The drinks--cocktails and beers being personal favs--are fantastic. The food is consistently yummy. In Riva has a lot of routes to satisfaction and satiation. I've tried many of the apps, big plates, pasta dishes, and pizzas. All wonderful, especially the whipped ricotta, meatballs, octopus, bucatini, and branzino. I advise you to sit outside on the patio when the weather is nice! You can watch all of the fit people biking and jogging by as you work on getting a little fatter
google avatar

Tammy M.

Yelp
Love this place and their handmade food! The pizzas are delicious- roasted broccolini is amazing and their cocktails are spot on. It's busy so make a reservation before you go. When the weather is nice, they have a terrific outdoor patio. Also, Tuesdays are half-price pizza if you know the code word, so follow them on Instagram.

Yelp
Met a friend here for lunch on a Friday and had a lovely time. We arrived at 130ish so right after the lunch "rush" so there weren't any tables available but just had to wait a few moments for a party to wrap up. There weren't any parking spots in the lot adjacent to the restroom i parked in the public lot across the street which was fine. We started with the whipped ricotta which was OK and then I got the bucatini and she got the Caesar salad. Both were good made better with great company. The staff was so lovely albeit it not being their core hours. I look forward to coming back

Yelp
I appreciated the vibe of In Riva- folks seemed to be enjoying themselves and the servers were attentive (but not too!) The Ballerini cocktail was dangerously good, I could have kept drinking them all night. The food was decent but I guess I expected more: 1. Arugula and mushroom salad- we thought the mushrooms would be cooked- they were just freshly cut up. It would have given the salad more flavor. The rest of it was fine. 2. The burrata was good, but it had a lot of olive. When we ordered the Branzino, we requested olives on the side, but there wasn't a note about there being olives in the burrata so we didn't ask. So one of us couldn't eat the whole dish. 3. As for the burrata, I am glad we asked for the olives on the side because it was a very salty (yummy) mix. The fish wasn't mindblowing, it was good though. One thing that I really appreciated is that when we got to our table, the people next to us were quite loud, and I couldn't hear my wife. And the seat cushions were lopsided, so sitting was uncomfortable. When I asked to move, it happened immediately, and the meal was so much more enjoyable than it would have been otherwise. Thank you!
google avatar

Victoria T.

Yelp
The outdoor seating on a Friday night was surprisingly quiet. I ordered the Broccolini Caesar, Rigatoni, and Margherita with arugula and prosciutto. Everything was great, though the Rigatoni was a bit too salty for my taste. Service was just okay--the waiter seemed a bit dismissive and didn't acknowledge others when they asked questions.

Yelp
So we stopped eating takeaway Pizza for a while... Today, we found a reason to order it again. We tried the pepperoni pizza, whipped ricotta and garlic shrimp. ALL OF IT WAS GOOD The pizza reminded me of what I had in Napoli. I said reminded because the char & chewy crust were similar. Pepperoni was a lil salty for me but we still enjoyed it. The shrimp were cooked well, not rubbery or burned. So tasty. The whipped ricotta with crispy & sauteed onions, yummy. The prices are a bit too much in relation to portion sizes & comparable eateries. This is a nice once in a while treat. So, go treat yourself.

Yelp
I had this place bookmarked for a minute and it was perfect to celebrate my besties bday!!! They have parking, and outdoor seating as well. The aesthetics is chill and if you do find yourself outside just know you will have bees. Let them Be! I love the view and the entire time I thought someone left their bike but it was part of the fencing lol. I called prior to set up the birthday vibes and the staff and service was accommodating and pleasant. Right down to the menu. The food was amazing and I even got a pizza to go. I had Fomo with other tables having the pizza. The selection is nice and I ended up getting the salami hot honey and YEA!!! Perfect crust, sauce, heat and meat! The octopus with romesco was niiiice and the branzino was delicate and delish. I'll be back Tk go through the menu and say hi to Sabrina and Chelsea!

Yelp
Yeeeeeet...Sunday night 1/2 price wine on the Banks of the Schuylkill in the Summer. A cool breeze in the air accompanied by the 5 course tasting menu. Each dish played on each other and was incredibly tasty. See pics.

Yelp
Great food!! Must try chicken parm and black ink pasta. Friendly staff and dog friendly.

Yelp
I'm not sure why I've never reviewed In Riva. I have been here a number of times over the years. It is a mandatory stop when biking the river trail. I have biked here with friends and my daughters. Getting off the path is a quick crossing of the street with a readied bike rack right off of the most beautiful large outside dining area. After riding from West Philly, parking the bike and getting a table on the beautiful deck, ordering drinks and good food is a delight. My latest obsession is the bianco verde pizza. It is covered with garlicky arugula pesto and is a texture explosion with red onion and almonds. It's delicious. My favorite cocktail is the Binda. It is the most perfect summer drink with vodka, coconut and pineapple. You can order it frozen if you like it like that. The salads are delicious (try the Caesar and add anchovies! You won't be sorry!) and the antipasto menu is also very good! They have specials throughout the week with a great happy hour. After we sip and stuff ourselves we hop back on our bikes and ride back to West very happy!
google avatar

Andreina S.

Yelp
I could eat their pizzas every day, that's how good they are! I have been here many times and in all of the years (even after the pandemic), the food is consistently tasty as well as the service. You can't go wrong with anything from their menu. It is also such a fun spot by the water, whether during a heavy rain or on a beautiful sunny spring day where you can sit outside and watch people as they pass by.
google avatar

Ivani B.

Yelp
Such a great artisan style pizza place. The restaurant is a really dark place, great for a date night! I started off with a cocktail, I got the Dos Ros which had rose, strawberry and basil. Very tasty! For my pizza I got the sausage and peppers but I added pepperoni to it and I don't advise to do it cause it made it salty. They had it as sausage and peppers on the menu for a reason so take it the way it was listed for flavor purposes. My friend got the margherita pizza and sticky pork ribs that had a nice kick to them. I don't know what that sauce was but it was great! I want to go out to try their patio seating which looked like the place to be that night, but instead we sat inside. It was a Friday night so the place was kinda packed, parking situation wasn't ideal either, the lot infront of the place runs out of spots and you have to go to the paid lot across the way.
google avatar

Olivia N.

Yelp
Always have a good time here. Food quality is good. Service is consistent but a little slow sometimes if they are busy which is understandable. Great options for happy hour. Such a beautiful restaurant with great views!
google avatar

Lakendra R.

Yelp
This may have been the best pizza I've had in Philly. The service was quick and professional. I will say the drinks were a little watered down but definitely delicious.
google avatar

Tiffany T.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour the other week and tried a sampling of their menu. I enjoyed the whipped ricotta. The bread was nicely toasted, the whipped ricotta was savory and buttery and loved the added texture with fried onions. The taste and flavor of the sauce and toppings was good, but that is NOT bucatini pasta and there was no bite to the pasta, not al dente at all, soft and the noodle itself was flavorless... see the photo. I enjoyed the toppings and flavor of the pizza, and the texture of the dough but it was a little burnt for me on parts of the crust and also on the bottom which caused a bitter taste I didn't love with the rest of the pizza Overall a solid option in east falls. I would return but a bit weary of the pasta
google avatar

Yelp
Consistently delicious and exciting food. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Lots of seating options, including outdoors on the patio as well as in a side yard if you want to bring your dog! We go with our relatively picky kids and because the plates are small, we are usually always able to find something that works for them (plus, of course, the pizza!).
google avatar

Helen W.

Yelp
I sat outside with my dog and cousin. The atmosphere was very welcoming and dog friendly. They gave my dos treats and water. The server was really nice and attentive. The food was really food. I ordered the whipped ricotta, meatballs, and a pizza. Everything was delicious! I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
You know you're hooked on a pizza when you find yourself craving for it roughly 5 minutes after you just finished the entire pie by yourself. In Riva offers a few eye-catching toppings, which made it hard for people like me to choose. I ended up with the sausage and peppers topping, and I must say that it's a damn good decision. I normally prefer my pizzas thick and saucy, so imagine my surprise when I find myself falling in love at the first bite of the thin crust slice that's oozing with sizzling cheese and meaty goodness. Someone mentioned hating the pizza here since it's too soggy for their taste, but for me, it's just right. I'm not a fan of dried cardboard-like pizzas, so the saucier it is, the better. I felt like I was in a momentary pizza-bliss zone from the first bite to the last, and I can't stop thinking about it even now. Ambience-wise, this place is perfect for a nice date or casual hangout with a group of friends. The patio seating option is great since it comes with the view of the schuylkill river. The restaurant also offers their own parking lot, but space may be very limited on a busy day. As others suggested about the pricing discrepancy between what's on the menu vs what's being charged on the bill, make sure you get that squared away before the end of the meal to prevent any surprises.

Yelp
This is place is a vibe. The pizza is awesome. I ordered one for us to try and I got two more for the table. Now, that branzino dish was everything. It was cooked well, this one had flavor. The staff we very cool. What's really cool about this place is the nice outdoor vibe. It's located on the water, so it has a good view. Great spot for a date or kick it with your team like me and try a bunch of different things on the menu. Live, laugh, and Love -SHA

Yelp
Delicious drinks, a cosmo & a melon ? (so good I will try to make at home). Meatball appetizer is truly amazing, the sauce is one of the best. The caesar salad also amazing, not a typical salad - better! the rigatoni duck bolognese so delish and the linguine with clams was good. Overall the food is top notch, service is excellent! highly recommend, sunday early afternoon perfect time to go.

Yelp
Pizza+Pups= Party. Super cute Italian place with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, their outdoor patio is heated which is nice as we head towards the winter. They have a Happy Hour 4pm to 6 pm Monday to Friday so we were able to get a couple of drinks in! For the food we decided to go with the Spicy chicken Parm and the Margherita Pizza. The spicy chicken Parm was unlike any other I've ever tasted, for starters it was dark meat on the bone, the sauce was spicy and since I prefer dark meat I loved it ! The Margherita pizza was good, fresh however it was charred black in the bottom, so slightly overdone. We were quite full as a party of 2 , so will definitely be back to taste some of the other items on the menu!

Monica B.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place. We had a group of 7 and they were able to serve us so quickly. Almost everything we ordered was a hit with the group. The standouts were the meatballs and the gnocchi with short rib. My only complaint is that it's a little loud and we had a hard time hearing the server and each other.

M H.

Yelp
We've eaten at In Riva many, many times and always loved it. A few days ago we got take out for the first time. It was extremely disappointing. We ordered two items we always get when we eat in restaurant, the mushroom zucchini truffle pizza and the tri colore salad. The pizza had not truffle oil, the salad had no goat cheese. The dressing was served on the side, which we did not request, it left the salad bland and flavorless as we couldn't toss it properly with the tiny amount of dressing provided. The meatball appetizer, another favorite, was so over salted we had to discard it. We got a child's order of white pasta, first time we ordered this as we had a child visiting. It was approximately 2/3 cup of cooked spaghetti with butter, not white cheese sauce, just plain butter. Since the prices for take out are the same as eating in, there is no reasonable explanation for the deplorable food we received. We picked up within minutes of being notified it was ready, but the pizza and pasta were already cold. The greeter was also cold, no welcoming smile, no thank you for your patronage. All in all a very negative experience, all the more so as we've always loved eating in restaurant.

Yelp
Update: a few years later I got a chance to circle back to In Riva and my experience was just as lovely. Most of the dishes on the menu were familiar. Pros: free on-site parking, plenty of outdoor seating, dog friendly and kid friendly Cons: the parking lot is tight so you have to do a little maneuvering to get in and out What to Order: For Drinks the Da Ros or Espresso Martinis. For Food the Spaghetti with King Crab (it's spicy!)
google avatar

Bonnie B.

Yelp
Lovely ambiance but food has gone way downhill (and like many restaurants, much more expensive than it used to be). Pasta and pizza fine but nothing special. Worst chicken piccata I have ever had. Should be a delicate dish, ideally tasting lemon and butter. Was way too breaded with Panko bread crumbs instead of light flour, no discernible butter, and a thick gloppy sauce that had artichokes and lemon but little taste.
google avatar

Yelp
Love the atmosphere and the peacefulness of the outside patio..Definitely would be back

Yelp
Food was great as always. Service was good as well. However, we got crop dusted by a food runner as he was bringing some plates to the table. Keep your farts in the back of the house, Bro!

Robert G.

Yelp
Looked this place up on Yelp. 4.5 stars & over 800 reviews. Arrived on Saturday around 3pm. First impression was the parking lot strewn with trash & overgrown weeds. I actually was starting to think it was closed down from the looks of the exterior of the building. We get inside & take a seat at the bar which was sticky and dirty. Ordered a beer & glass of wine while looking over the menu. $7 for an 8oz draft beer & $14 for a glass of cheap wine. I went to use the bathroom. The bathroom was one of the dirtiest I have ever seen at a place that wasn't a dive bar, so dirty & disgusting that I informed my wife that there was no way I would eat here. If the bathroom is dirty, so is the kitchen. It's obvious the owner of this restaurant stopped caring long ago. Steer clear.

Yelp
I used to love this place. I finally returned here after years since COVID and I've got to say our whole party was severely disappointed with the food. I don't know if chefs changed or what but our meal was not enjoyable at all. Pasta still appears to be made in house, but all of our pasta dishes tasted like MUSH. The texture felt like regurgitated noodles and was quite possibly the worst pasta we've ever had. Also, many of the items on the menu became SPICY, even though the menu doesn't even say it! Pizza? Spicy (and salty for some reason). Pasta? Spicy. Even the burrata salad was spicy! What?! Unfortunately since nothing on the menu signified the items would be spicy, my son (or my husband) couldn't eat anything there. We used to rave about this place but now I'm a bit embarrassed by my past recommendations here. Definitely won't be recommending it anymore!
google avatar

Kyle O.

Yelp
The food was good. The pizzas were a little underdone and floppy. The crab pizza had way too many ingredients on top. The one thing that got me was the additional charges on each dish we ordered. Everything on the menu is listed as the exact dollar amount but the check has a few extra cents next to each dish (this is before tax). This adds a few extra dollars at the end of the meal. Why not just round up? Or throw a disclaimer that the extra cents will go to BOH wages. It's just dishonest, and not cool. Anyone willing to pay $17 for a margarita pizza will pay $18. I have bad taste in my mouth and it wasn't because of the food or service.

Yelp
We love the location, and will definitely come back when it's warmer for the outdoor. Everything is decent. Our favourite is the Broccolini Caesar, well seasoned, refreshing and creamy. I do think the broccolini is overcooked for a little bit as I preferred a crunch. Quattro Formaggi - Nice crust, well combined and will try the Margherita next time. Sticky Pork Belly - We liked the texture, crusty and tender. Not sure how we feel about the sauce. Bucatini - We both are not fans as we don't think the sauce lingered well with the pasta and it's under seasoned, especially since we were drinking and were craving for something heavy.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! I was here for a holiday work lunch and I couldn't believe how amazing everything was. From the whipped ricotta to the broccolini Caesar salad (omggg), I was extremely impressed with their unique spin on their dishes. The ravioli were also incredible and our server was outstanding for taking care of such a big party.

Yelp
In Riva doesn't disappoint. Fun and casual, but best of all food is delicious! Highly recommend this place to anyone

Yelp
Just for the record this is a 2.5 star review..Used to be a decent place to get a pizza and a beer, however quality and service has dropped off in the past year or so, to the point that it's not really worth it, just a general lack of attention, waiter took forever to come over to our table, and the pizza was waaaay too salty, and wildly overpriced..there are a lot of better choices, if you're willing to drive a bit.. pizza is experiencing a boom in PHL right now, however In Riva has sadly not kept up. Owner has some conservative political views as well, which may or may not affect where you choose to dine and spend your $$$, based on recent events. Give it a miss unless you're starving and can't walk another foot.

Yelp
The ambience is nice here not to far from home and there food is always great. I've had their pizzas, salads, flat breads and they never disappoint. The drinks have alway been good. I love that on certain nights they have half off wine bottles. The service has always been efficient. Definitely a must try if your in the neighborhood.... oh!! They also have outdoor dining!!

Yelp
Nice spot for outdoor dining at the bottom of East Falls across Kelly Drive from the Schuylkill River! The bridge overtop provides decent shade, even to the seats without umbrellas, and, at least on the Saturday we went, there's a farmer's market in the parking lot across the street with live music, which adds a certain ambiance. Decent wood-fired pizza (the soppressata pizza was the omnivores' favorite, though the cipollina pizza was a close second with plenty of peppery arugula!) and tasty looking appetizers (we didn't order any, but saw many delivered to neighboring tables, who said they were good). Only saw one server who was masked and the tables (outside, too) weren't six feet apart, but we felt OK dining outside.
