Indian Ladder Farms - Review - New York - The Infatuation

"The apple cider doughnuts at Indian Ladder Farms are close to perfect. They’re light and fluffy, with just a bit of crispness to the exterior, lightly dusted with cinnamon sugar. They’re not too sweet, and you can really taste the cider. The doughnuts are made fresh all day long, every day, so they’re almost always hot and fresh. However, especially on the weekend, it can be astonishingly hard to actually eat one of these doughnuts. The line can stretch all the way around the massive farm, with waits as long as two hours. Because of this, we recommend coming on a weekend. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Had an amazing visit - brought some Tree House beer and did a swap. The staff absolutely loved your ciders! Thank you for the hospitality ❤️ can't wait to go back next time I'm in town!

Google
Nice spot! Brought my buddy out for his birthday. He's a big fan of dry ciders. But they have beers on too! That "Tappin' Some Trees" stout was particularly good.

Nathan June

Google
Enjoyed the experience, beautiful backdrop with the Helderberg escarptment there. Different apple varieties available & a restaurant & cidery there as well. Also some unique festivals held such as the renaissance faire.

Google
We love it here so much been back so many times!!! They have so much to offer it is a must stop for a couple or family! They have pick your own apples, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, sunflowers, pumpkins! They have two different cafes inside to get food, and also a bakery with cider, cider donuts, pastries, coffee and more! There is a gift shop filled with goodies. They have animals! They also have a new outdoor brewery they make right here! They also have vendors come on the weekends. Lots of parking and prices are reasonable.

Olivia Bumgardner

Google
It's very pretty and the animals are friendly in the petting area. Shop seems excessively expensive. Bar area, two of the corners on tap were really bad, either off or just gross. Pizzas looked good, food was good just a little more spendy than expected

Diane Brennan

Google
The management of the farm have effectively changed the farm aspect to one of an indoor/outdoor bar. What was a pleasant visit to farm and charming store with fresh produce has become a largely sterile, event focused venue with, of course, alcohol. To bad the state had to get involved. I gave it stars for continuing the livestock area and a lunch menu. No stars for the mostly uninteresting store.

Google
Apple picking prime spot! There are at least 6 varieties to pick from and rows of low hanging fruit. Their kitchen burned down so no apple cider donuts until fall 2025. Quite a few ciders on tap and the shop sells bags of apples and some pastries baked by one of the staff every morning. Worth the trip.

Fiona Keating

Google
best farm around! it has mushrooms, it's got tasty fruit, amazing donuts, best pizza pop up, and it's also a brewery/cider. the farm shop has the perfect local treats and gifts too. also there's farm animals. and they have great events too

Yelp
We have been customers of Indian Ladder for many years. They have an extensive offering of apple varieties. They also have terrific fruit pies. They also sell a variety of "home made" pastries. Last, but most certainly not least, they have magnificent cider donuts! You can often get them literally hot and they are so good they are easy to get addicted to. Unfortunately, I eat so many of them that when I step on my scale a message shows in the display that says "one at a time!" So, head here for great apples, pies, pastries, and of course- cider donuts!

Jm S.

Yelp
The Pizza Garden at Indian Ladder Farms sounds like a fun place. Unfortunately, there is no shade other than table umbrellas. We were so hot it was uncomfortable and we left as soon as we finished eating. The music is so loud you can hardly have a conversation. Although the pizza was very good it was way too expensive. $18 for a personal size pizza is a bit pricey. The place needs a play area for children near the picnic area. Just be sure to tip the bartender and pizza making staff. They were melting in the heat with no AC or fans.

Yelp
I went for Spaghetti Western Night! I had never been to the Cold Mountain room before (and there are no signs in the parking lot to tell you to continue to drive to the back). Watched a movie on the big screen on a couch with a blanket (which was necessary becuase the space is big and hard to heat effectively) and then had DeFazios buffet spaghetti! My husband and I learned we don't like Westerns (or they're not our style), and had a wonderful evening overall. I didn't know DeFazios was doing food at Indian Ladder and its a wonderful addition to their offerings! I hope to see more cool movie nights or other events in this space in the future!

Yelp
Came here with some friends for picklepalooza! It was fun to get out of albany and this is a cute place to do so! The picklepalooza either had a really long wait for the food like the pizza or ran out of food early but we loved the pastries from the farm store and the apple cider donuts and cheese curds were so good! The animals were also so cute and you can feed them for 25¢! Overall a good time and will be back for some Apple picking

Yelp
Still come here all of the time but wanted to post pictures of their Christmas trees and holiday set-up. We get our tree here every year and it's even lovelier at the farm this time of year. Lots of cute gifts in the shop, baked goods, and of course apples/donuts/cider. There are also meals with Santa and wagon rides. Lots of fun to be had.

Yelp
Stopped by after a trip to a local state park. The farm includes a cute mom and pop shop and bakery, a cidery/brewery/restaurant, a pick your own field, and a small petting zoo. We first went to the cidery and tried a flight of local ciders and beers. The sour beer and the cider julep were really good! We also ordered food, including the burger and the pesto chicken sandwich (I had the sandwich and I 100% recommend)! The place itself has a large outdoor seating area and a smaller but equally nice indoor are with a bar, tables, and couches by a fireplace. The staff were very friendly and laid back, and whoever was managing the music was on point . We then went to the petting zoo area where we saw cows, goats, chickens, roosters, bunnies, and more. Bring quarters so you can feed the goats. We ended with a dozen cider donuts to take home, and they were quite tasty, but could use a bit more apple cider to bring out the apple flavor in my opinion (tasted mostly like a fried donut with sugar and less of that NYS apple flavor). Certainly tasty but missing that New York apple essence. All in all, I had an incredible time, and will plan to come back again and again!

Yelp
We brought our daughter here as part of our visit for her college family weekend. We lucked into a gorgeous day in the mid 70's in late September. We started with lunch from the food truck. My wife enjoyed the smash burger, my daughter liked her chicken fingers and fries, and I enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich on cornbread bun. The seating was nice and shaded. My wife enjoyed a New York rose wine and my daughter and I loved the farm made sparkling apple cider. The orchard itself was gorgeous! We picked up a bag for $37 and filled it to the absolute brim. While the price sounds high, it amounts to less than $2 a pound. Factor in the family time and it's a deal! The staff were all pleasant and professional. We had a great time at Indian Ladder Farms.

Yelp
I thought I had written a review of Indian Ladder Farms a year ago; either it got lost somewhere or I forgot. No matter, because if I had written one, I'd be updating it with a better review this time anyway. The first time I visited, my group only skimmed the surface here, i.e., going into the main tasting room for pours of beer and cider. This time, we made a point of visiting significantly more - more we hadn't even realized was available. That included the market, the children's area, the petting zoo, the second tasting area, the nature trail, and the pizza garden (with a restaurant under construction). I had also heard they host a Renaissance Faire, had wondered where, and now I know. This second visit upped Indian Ladder Farms from "someplace to go for tastings" to "destination." And my cider-loving friends can't wait to come here.

Yelp
Sad. Paid 60$ for sub par chicken wings, chicken tenders and a pretzel with cold mustard. Nope the beer garden is not a place to spend your money. Beautiful setting just sad. Oh 1 beer and ice tea.
google avatar

Deanna A.

Yelp
The hype about the cider donuts is real - best donuts I've ever had. They are so worth it! Went apple picking followed by picking up some apple butter from their shop. The employee went above and beyond to get us the apple butter flavor and size we wanted.

Yelp
I went to Indian Ladder for their Pickle Palooza festival. I had never been here before and was shocked at how nice it was! They have a cidery and brewery with many great options, a pizza shack, food truck, and farm animals plus places for kids to play. The views are also amazing! We had to wait in a long line to get our pickle items, but that is to be expected at such an event.

Yelp
Cutest animals and great apples, beautiful scenery. the whole place smelt amazing. Got some of their hard cider which was delicious.

Yelp
Stopped in while atsyong at yhe local atate campground. They have an herb garden and pwtting zoo to walking around and an old-fashioned general store filled with local goodies. Definitely take a walk downstairs to the tasting room. Flights of homemade cider and ice cold wine from a long island vineyward. We didn't try any food, but it all comes from 5 local farms. # 1 in my book

Lori S.

Yelp
A great place to go to! My Granddaughters loved seeing the animals! I will go during Christmas!

Amanda O.

Yelp
Huge disappointment. There were no cider donuts, the whole reason we went there in the first place. The staff was rude and did not make us feel welcome at all. What food was there was way overpriced. I'm sure the apples were delicious but the prices were ridiculous. The only reason I did not give only one star was because the place itself is very beautiful and smells like apples. Also, there was a food truck there from an outside vendor that was very good.

Yelp
Tis the season of apple picking! There is no better way to welcome fall than by going to Indian Ladder Farms for apple picking, enjoying apple cider (they also make spiked versions!), cider belly donuts , and an on site Biergarten! The wait for the cider belly donuts and to eat at the Biergarten is especially long though. We could not enjoy either because the cider belly donut line was probably 2 hours while the Biergarten wait was 3 hours. Definitely plan ahead if this is your reason for stopping by! Fortunately, the line into their store is not a long wait and we got a delicious apple dumpling, which is basically a turnover. It was incredible and I highly recommend.

Yelp
The ILF website continues to be a helpful resource for knowing what apple varieties (and other produce - berries! pumpkins!) are available for Pick-Your-Own before heading to the farm; they grown over a dozen varieties of apples and availablity varies week to week each fall. Apple picking in the year 2020 was a super fun outdoor experience to tackle with my Trivia Team in the midst of our refusal to trivia indoors together. We were happy to see the staff and other visitors were also taking health and safety seriously - masked up, lots of hand hygeine, and social distancing reminders. We were a bit sad that the Cidery & Brewery was not open for morning to go orders (we arrived as the farm store opened and did not want to stay until lunch time in order to pick-up brews for home); but that just means "visit the Biergarten" remains on our post-COVID to do list! Besides apples, we each did enjoy the purchases we made while onsite: veggies and plants from the farm store, cider and donuts for a pre-picking breakfast, and local cheese from the grocery area. YUMS ALL AROUND!

Yelp
Nice view and great for fruit lovers I have picked up blueberries this season and will return for apples

Yelp
This place has really stepped up their game. I love coming here. I've been coming here for many many years and gone are the days of donut rationing and waiting in long lines for everything. The place was extremely busy but extremely well run. We came to apple pick but we never got to the apple picking. There's so much to do here. We started with a picnic lunch then some of us got in line for the donuts and some of us went to go pet the animals with the kids and ride the horses (only &5!). Then of course we had to eat some of the donuts and pick out a few pumpkins and ride a horse and check out the gift shop and drink apple cider. The day just flew by so we decided to just buy some apples, and they were plenty, and then go sit in the beer garden but we sat on the inside instead of the busy outside. We found a nice barn with a big table and there was hardly anyone inside it was wonderful. Nice day!

Yelp
From children's play and educational area to gift shops bakery and sit down outside restaurant or pick your own- this place offers something for all ages and types! Nice craft beers and cider. Quality food and service. You will pat a little more but the experience is worth it! Don't pass this up!

Yelp
Great stop for the family, fun restaurant with good beer and cider options. Apple picking in the fall and berries in the summer. Animals to walk around and see any day of the year. Oh and of course the apple cider doughnuts.

Yelp
Oops. I mixed up my reviews last time and the previous on was for the Brewery Side. However, I have came to correct this, but didn't want to delete the other review. Indian Ladder Farms is a great way to spend a sunny summer afternoon, and always a great place to get your apples in the Fall. Not to mention the absolute stunning scenery surrounding you. I have been coming here my whole life, my grandparents always used to take me here after we would hike and picnic at Thatcher Park. The little shop is so cute with many local nic-naks, treats, gifts, and of course their bakery! The cider donuts they have are truly nostalgic. Even though there are some places really killing it with Donuts lately, you gotta give props to the originals. Also have to get some Fresh Cider during fall of course too. Speaking of fall, make sure you come here for your bushels of apples! Check the schedule online to make sure what week you want to go depending on the type of apples you want. PYO apples is an Upstate NY Fall must-do. Also, can't forget to mention the farm animals out back of the stores. How fun! We got to go pet some cows and goats and watch them be cute. It was a great way to top off the afternoon. Highly Recommend here and the Brewery!

Yelp
Unfortunately over the yeArs the prices have increased and the quality has declined. I've been twice this season hoping it was a fluke that they gave me cold cider doughnuts on a Saturday morning that was overcrowded- but it wasn't.
google avatar

Yelp
$28 for a half bushel. Spent $15 w tip for 2 hard ciders. Excellent way to wind down from a work day. No charge to get in. Plentiful fruit on the trees. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Cheerfully allowed our well-behaved, leashed dog. Water bowls for dogs at the Biergarten. Will be back for sure!
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped for food during Renaissance Fest because the lines and prices in the fair were RIDICULOUS. Lunch was the vegan sandwich with mushroom, arugula and onion jam. I thought the mushroom would be meaty but it was processed like bacon and didn't really add anything to the sandwich. The rest was tasty, we had great service and of course the black and white cookie I purchased on the way out was super yummy.

Yelp
We LOVE Indian Ladder Farms for so many reasons but for this review, I'll just focus on a recent experience sitting outside for dinner. First off, it's super cool how the restaurant is offering the seating with wood stoves. You reserve ahead of time and pay a small fee (ours was $15 plus tip for the fire attendant.) The fire attendant was super on top of it and did a great job keeping up with all the customers. Food and drinks were good as always. Battered onion rings were by far our favorite. We felt bad for the servers, as they seemed to be stretched pretty thin. We weren't greeted for quite a bit after sitting down. Knocking down one star simply because there wasn't much room to put our food down and it did impact our experience. At the settings for two, a small barrel is provided to put food on but it barely fit our shared appetizer. This caused issues for the servers and it prevented us from sticking around to order anything other than small appetizers. We did ask about getting a bigger table so we could fit our drinks and food down but that wasn't an option. Since this is something new they are offering, I assume the restaurant plans to adapt to improve this. And we will certainly be back when they do! Overall, it was a really nice experience and we especially love the ability to bring our pup!

Todd C.

Yelp
Down stairs food and brew isn't great. Both sub par. I know a lot of people who used to go here and lots won't go back because of the service and food. They get one star. Now upstairs with bakery and store is decent. If you are going for apple picking and cider, I do recommend. Cider donuts are very popular. Would have been five stars, but down stairs is not good.

Yelp
Was glamping nearby and thought to pay a visit. Impressed with the vibe :) Food and pie could be better! The ciders in my naive opinion lacked tang and punch (for lack of better words). But shoutout to their IPA. So tried the golden boy (could have more punch), blueberry (best of the lot), lemongrass (interesting - you definitely get the lemongrass), peach (faint aftertaste), and signature (good not great). They have a great outdoor seating area and a cool indoors as well. Service is impeccable. They have complimentary dog treats and play areas for kids We ordered the cauliflower pizza- HUGE pizza and someone dumped a lot of goats cheese :) almost could not finish it. Wish there were more artichokes and spinach. If you're a group of 6-7 definitely order. The first slice is amazing and then it gets heavy with the incredible amount of goats cheese. Also ordered their smoked wings. Pale ale honey sriracha could be better (tad more sriracha) but the wings were definitely smoked you could tell. Very nice flavor. Wanted their beef brisket but of course they were gone. I'm sure that was out of the world. My only disappointment was that their $17 apple pie was slightly underdone on the bottom. Might be back for some apple or berry picking :) the vibe and the location makes this place attractive.

Yelp
Great fruit farm and beer garden! Dog-friendly menu and environment is a plus. They also have a market and a cafe.

Yelp
You know when you have one of those meals where if you were subsequently struck by lightning it would be a fitting last meal? Well, I had one of those at Yellow Rock today. Donna served me pumpkin pate stuffed French Toast with real maple syrup, perfect bacon, delicious coffee and OJ. If Johnny Appleseed had stopped by here for this meal he would have quit walking! I have eaten here a dozen times always brunch and never had a bad meal.

Yelp
Glad to have a farm with a cafe, brewery, events and fun for all in the area. Coming from the city I didn't think I would enjoy the farm life but I'm totally in love with farms and talking to farmers! This place was packed and busy which wasn't bad but a little bit chaotic and unorganized. There was no clear directions to the cafe or what tables were free to sit. The smoker (I think charcoal) was blowing bits in the air that smelled really bad. Anyways, they are getting 4 stars bc the Best Pumpkin pie I've ever had! Smooth pumpkin mousse like not too sugary or sweet, the crust was crisp and not too sweet either. The hot cider not bad. We actually got some table seats outside since the cafe closed already. The servers at the counter were nice and not bothered by how stressful and crowded it was. Also there are beautiful mountain views. So yes I will return even though your stuff is not organic(but I did read that they try to use less pesticides ) b/c that pumpkin pie was amazing!

Ally L.

Yelp
We came here on Sunday for brunch,we seated at patio area. So if you are looking brunch you need to go upstairs to yellow tail cafe(smt like that name). We ordered Shake a leg(very juicy but little raw inside and super blackened out) May Taylor Honey-stung Chicken Sammich (super delicious and super big yummy ) Strawberry Moon (not super sweet and if u like bourbon good option to go with) Superstar Ipa (my husband love it) Strawberry Hustle (that is good but i m mimosas person and it was not covered it since they have only option for u) It was great vibe, great service (except they were out of utensils and expected me to eat half chicken leg with plastic fork , little struggle no lie). I guess if u are going to eat and drink something u are looking to spend between $30-$40 somewhere individually. I just wanna say 'Thank you' to our server Stella. Besides food she was the best part of experience. She has big smile on her face;good advice and even she gets busy she never skips you! You are perfect girl, thank you so much making our Sunday noon better with your vibe

Yelp
We are from Florida. Our NY friends suggested this place. My hubs had never been apple picking and he was immersed in the FULL FALL experience! We can't take the apples home to FL, but it was still worth the $29 to pick them. The hot cider is PERFECTION! The Pumpkin WHOOPIE donut is DIVINE! 10/10 would recommend to travelers!

J B.

Yelp
I love love love this place. My friend took me here for the first time a year ago and I continue to go back. It beautiful and the donuts are so delicious. This place is my favorite spot.

Yelp
I haven't been here in years, but I'm glad I stopped in while I was back home visiting Albany. Most Capital Region residents come here to pick apples, but we just stopped in to visit the store after a trip to nearby Thacher Park. We came on a weekday and this place was busy! The restaurant was packed too. The shop is a good size and has Vermont country store vibes to it. This would be such a great place to take people visiting from out of state since it's so charming. The items here were pricey, but it was fun to browse. We spotted locally made jams, soaps, dish towels, tea, lotions, signs for home, candles, maple syrups, cheeses, cider and even jewelry. They do have a bakery with lots of yummy looking items. The cider donuts were good, but I liked the ones I had at another local orchard better. Nice assortment of pre-picked apples available and we grabbed some of those to make apple sauce with. I would have LOVED to go to their cider & brewery, but it wasn't open until 4 PM on the weekdays.
google avatar

Natalie M.

Yelp
Had a team outing here this past week and the vibe is nice and chill here. Didn't get a chance to checkout the apple trees or farm animals but went straight to the restaurant. I had the pineapple cider and Rosalina salad, both so yummy! Well def be back w my fam!

Yelp
as someone who's worked in the service industry for over 10 years, i have never left a bad review. i understand how difficult customer service can be and how everyone has an "off day," but what i experienced this afternoon is still upsetting me. it was evident that none of the employees working in the "restaurant"/bar/taproom/cider/whatever it was wanted my business. my friend, my 10 month old and I drove one hour each way to try indian ladder farms. we were very excited to spend the afternoon here. we walked around to see the animals, bought donuts, apples and pumpkins and then decided to get a beer and a bite to eat. there was no hostess and we were confused on if/where we needed to check in so we decided to just walk toward the inside part and see if there was a staff member we could ask. the first person we saw was the bartender inside to the right. instead of greeting us with hmm.. i don't know.. maybe a "hello" or "how are you" she just stared at me with disgust. after hesitating, i asked "where do we have to check in if we want to sit outside and have a bite to eat?" she *rudely* told us to just sit at an empty table and someone would be over with menus and to take our order. ok. great. could have been a little nicer but whatever. we chose a table in the middle of the tent outside and there were only 4 other tables there. we sat there for 30 minutes and not one of the waitresses acknowledged us. there were two of them. four tables. not sure what was going on. they weren't even trying to have some pep in their step. they clearly didn't want to be there or wait on us. both girls kept walking by us pretty much pretending we weren't even there. people at other tables also looked irritated. so after 30 minutes of sitting there, my baby was getting fussy and we were getting irritated so we decided to just go up to the bar to get a drink and sit somewhere around the farm. when we went inside the bartender seemed even more irritated than before, stating that we "couldn't just come up here to get a drink if we were already at a table." what? we sat there for 30 minutes and didn't get any service so i thought it would be easier for everyone involved if we just ordered a drink with her? do you not want my money?? it was evident that NO ONE in that restaurant wanted to work or even pretend that they liked their job. driving two hours to come here and we left so disappointed. i'm still mad . maybe the management can teach their employees to at least PRETEND that they care about their jobs. i'm sorry that coming to spend my money at your business was an inconvenience to you. safe to say we will not be back.

Yelp
Love the ciders especially the lavender honey cider. Good food on the time we ate here also.

Jim S.

Yelp
They have always had the best cider donuts (and cider)! Came here many times as a kid, still love it as an adult 30 years later.
google avatar

Jenna L.

Yelp
The atmosphere can't be beat. The drinks are great. The food menu for the Biergarten is a bit confusing. I don't understand the ramen at a Biergarten. I wish it had more German style food. Stay away from their chicken wings. We all found them to be weird. But the doughnuts, fries, pretzels and cheese and the alcohol in an outdoor safe for Covid setting is just lovely. A little stroll around to see animals before you go just adds to the experience.
google avatar

Annie F.

Yelp
Three stars for the cafe. The donuts and cider are outstanding, however, the food in the cafe is nothing to write home about. I've been there at least three times and each time I was underwhelmed. The breakfast sandwich was huge, but the home fries tasted like they were a day old. My boyfriend was also underwhelmed by the French toast and felt that the strawberry topping was frozen and not fresh. Definitely pay a visit for donuts, apples and cider as well as the brewery in the basement, but stay away from the cafe.

Shannon M.

Yelp
Great family friendly personal experience Indian Ladder farms is a main frame of the community allowing for families and friends to share in the experience of apple picking, warm cider, cider donuts and family run businesses
google avatar

Nick C.

Yelp
The apple cider donuts are worth the wait. Grab a beer or cider prior to waiting on line and it'll make your time go by easier. The locale also includes an animal area (goats, pigs, cows, etc) that you can pay to feed , plus ships to purchase jams, pumpkins, gourds, etc (when in season). Perfect for kids and adults alike!
google avatar

Daniel B.

Yelp
When it comes to orchards, this one is tops in my book. Not only did it win the day in the first annual Tour de Donut on the strength of its sugared cider donuts, it also has an incredibly friendly and non-commercial feel to it. Imagine, a sandbox and run around space for kids that you don't have to pay to enter. I never thought that was a special thing until I started exploring some of the other regional orchards. But they have great picking for well beyond apple season. There are raspberries and blueberries. If you are a complete masochist you can even pick strawberries. Oddly, for this food obsessed person, the thing that clenches it for me is the scenic beauty of the old barn and the mountain. Although I don't think it's officially a mountain. Maybe it's a ridge? I don't know, but it's damn striking. The only thing that could make Indian Ladder Farms any better was if they had a working still like the one at Golden Harvest out in Valatie. Maybe one day. So for now, we'll call this my favorite regional orchard west of the Hudson.

Julia R.

Yelp
Absolutely the best orchard-donut stop in the area. Animals, cider, , brewery, cafe, trails a bonus!

Yelp
The Indian Ladder Farms has been my local favorite to pick apples since I was a child. Every fall, I always looked forward to going apple picking with my parents, and waiting in line for their famous apple cider donuts. I loved walking, and walking, and walking in their orchard in search for the best apples. I was fortunate enough to to have had the time to go Apple picking with my grandma and a couple of aunts this afternoon. While the apples were pretty picked over as it is later in the weekend (and only a few lanes were open), we were able to stop at the store and enjoy a couple of their apple cider donuts. I didn't have the apple cider at the store today but I brought home a gallon to enjoy for the coming week. While I didn't get enough apples for my apple pie this time, I plan on going back next weekend for their honeycrisp. My only complaint for today was that we were forbidden to take pictures of the apples at the front by a nice gentleman, saying that it would draw the crowd to the area. My family were disappointed, but it is understandable to me, as they probably wanted to save what seemed like their best apples for something else.

Yelp
We have been going to Indian Ladder Farms for over 10 years, and have been taking our kids since they were little. We go for everything from events to berry picking, and sometimes just to wander the farm. There is lots of great seasonal picking, and we have picked a variety of berries and apples. It can get busy during the heart of apple picking season. I recommend if you are going on a weekend, get there early if you want to beat the crowds. For berry picking, we like to get there early anyway to beat the heat! There is a sandy play area for kids and a bunch of farm animals. I recommend bringing quarters for the food, a camera, and spare time.. my kids will spend quite a bit of time with the animals. We bring hand wipes but there is a hand-washing station set up near the farm animals. In the spring, they have "Baby Animal Days", where you can meet baby animals in the barn. This is a really cute event, and my kids still want to go even now that they are older. The farm store has a lot of neat stuff, from fresh fruits and veggies grown on the farm to local products and other toys and gifts. Even if we have gone berry or apple picking, I usually end up grabbing some fresh veggies and cider, or Palatine cheese. The kids love the gift shop, and there is a bee colony display in the gift shop which is neat too. There is a small eating area inside the store. We have only eaten there a few times, a "Breakfast with Santa" held in the winter months. It can get a little hectic, but the food is pretty good. I like that the farm seems to be adding and improving. For example, more hand washing stations. Recently I noticed more tables and chairs outdoors. Just little changes here and there to make things better. There are also trails on the property. We love to walk up the hill just outside the farm store and enjoy the view while we eat some apples (or cherry tomatoes!). Overall, a nice way to enjoy the Upstate NY traditions of cider donuts and apple picking with a farm experience.

Yelp
The empire and snap dragon were picked out on bottom and they weren't giving poles And don't want you to climb I wish they would have told us so we just went to the area that had apples you can actually pick. Especially when you have little kids in tow.
