I called ahead to ask which curry had food color, and they confidently recommended the Paneer Makhani. Big mistake. When it arrived, it looked nothing like the real thing — just Google what Paneer Makhani is supposed to look like.
Most Indian restaurants in the U.S. (especially in the South, not NY) throw in a bit of color to make dishes look “Indian,” but this one went all out. The dish had maybe five tiny pieces of paneer — all bright pink, thanks to the food dye — and that pretty much killed my mood and appetite.
It tasted like pasta sauce mixed with sugar and a dash of regret. Honestly, you’ve probably got all the ingredients at home already, and since there’s barely any paneer, you won’t miss much by skipping this place. Save your money — and your taste buds
