Google
Best. Restaurant. Ever. Like if this place closed, life might not be worth living anymore. Their buffet has a wide variety of options (each of which is very delicious 😋) some foods (onion salad for example) are spicy but nothing is too spicy!

Google
the food was really good, especially the malai kofta! there were also lots of vegetarian options which was good because my family and i don’t eat meat. the servers were very attentive as well and they were always re-pouring the water and asking us if we needed anything! i would highly recommend :)

Google
Absolutely delicious and the service was amazing. This is some of the best Indian food I have ever had and it was absolutely worth a stop while I was in Houston

Google
Food was so good and not spicy! I am hooked and will definitely be back again! The chicken pankora is red and looks like it should be spicy, but it was not. It was so full of flavor and crunchy but moist. And the daal! I've never liked lentils but these were so good it was nearly my favorite dish in the buffet.

Google
Extraordinary, delicious, and authentic. I had Garlic Chili Chicken and it was sublime. Juicy soft chicken smothered in a dozen different flavors. Best Indian food I’ve ever had. Our hosts were very friendly and engaging. Go.

Google
India’s has been one of our family favorite restaurant. It’s been a long time Houston staple. They have a delicious buffet at lunch. The servers are very attentive. If you love Indian food, please give India’s a try. You will love it.

Google
This was a fantastic experience. The menu had a suggested chef specials and a highly suggested chefs specials. They do not disappoint. The food was amazing and so flavorful that we all ate too much. The Naan was light and fluffy. The dishes were bursting with flavor. It was so good. You will not be disappointed if you choose to dine here. I highly recommend this restaurant 👌 😍

Google

Yelp
The Butter Chicken was excellent and very delicious as usual recently. My favorite dish here with its rich, creamy tomato gravy, subtle sweet n sourness and nice savoriness. The chicken chunks were all very tender and well-marinated. Great, friendly service as well. India's Restaurant and Aga's are my favorite Indian restaurants of all in TX.

Yelp
A well known lunch buffet destination in the heart of the Galleria, India's is always teetering on the love it or hate it spectrum. They're solid on their best days, but bordering a train wreck on their worst, it's never obvious where they'll slide to on any given day. They've been consistent at being inconsistent, and yet I still find myself here for the occasional work lunch or solo meal. Their dedicated parking is an immediate sell and it's rarely ever full. The same goes for the dine-experience, which has always been casual and low key each time I've been here. Lunch usually has more of an atmosphere and dinner is a little less lively. The interior is dated with extremely dark carpet and dimly lighting throughout. Those mirror slivers along the wall are fun but the restrooms are not. (#1) The lunch buffet is the real draw. Despite so much of their business resorting to takeout, I would venture this is the best version one will find of them. The spread is a good daily spread, with a handful of meat options and plenty of vegetarian ones. It's not particularly well maintained, as evidenced by the countless splatter along the edges even during opening time. I appreciate the creamy sag paneer with chunks of cheese and semi-runny spinach. While the tandoori chicken is a tad drier than I like, I appreciate that they've not skimped on the chunks of meat. The chicken tikka masala, daal makhani, and lamb rogan josh are average at best, but are saucey enough to keep most folks interested. I was pleasantly surprised with the navaratan korma and chana masala, as they're both light with a kick, but the gobi manchurian could definitely use some work. I always appreciate the notion of tableside naan, even if it comes across as a bit dry and in serious need of butter. Someone needs to cover up the desserts or the fruit flies will eventually find their way in there. At $18 for the variety, I think things could certainly be worse. What isn't working for them is the service and management. The guys standing around the room can get a bit pushy at times and their snippiness with customers coming in can be a turnoff. Speaking of a turnoff, the website has prices different from the menu. Definitely not cool. Ultimately I still think there is potential here. Some staff training with interaction could probably be utilized and the place could definitely use a makeover. Most other places can get away with this if the food was so good that it didn't matter. Unfortunately, that's just not the case. __________ (#1) Hold it. Wait it out.

Yelp
This used to be my favorite place in the early 2000. But then Houston expands with more options to choose for Indian cuisine and I haven't been back for a long time. They now serve buffet for lunch at about $20 and a là carte but the menu price is about $20 too. I'm not a big fan of buffet so I was willing to pay the butter chicken from the menu but I asked the server if it comes with naan ,he said it didn't come with anything. That's odd bcoz at other restaurants they do serve with naans. Therefore I decided to eat the buffet options. Food wasn't that great anymore and services definitely was awful. There were a lot of servers but not friendly. They all looked so grouchy like they have to be there to work, so weird. To top this is a buffet so literally they don't have to do much of services. The place used to be packed and now it looks so empty. Hopefully the owner will look into it and makes some changes since the competition is quite strong these days. I'm a bit disappointed bcoz I brought 2 friends with me and bragging about how wonderful was in the early 2000.

Yelp
I was craving for Indian food and saw that India's is supposed to have the best lunch buffet and offered a variety of popular dishes. It was not very busy when I came in. There were people sitting at the booths by the windows but empty otherwise. Ordered soda and found out later they charge per glass (non-refillable). It wasn't even good with no fizz. They didn't put ice on it so not cold too. Suggest they provide a can of cold soda with ice instead. They do have ice tea that is refillable. My first plate consists of butter chicken, saag paneer, fried onions and tandoori chicken. Thought the fried onions were good esp with chutney. The butter chicken sauce was tasty but the chicken itself was dry. The tandoori chicken was dry too and would have like it with more spices. The saag paneer was different from what I remember... thought it should have more taste to it. Also tried the rest of the entrees. Lamb curry has a tasty sauce. Lamb was not chewy but not tender. There was a cabbage dish and another chicken dish which were ok. I like the sauces more than the meats or vegetables. They served fresh naan on the table. Ended the meal with mango pudding and rice pudding. Wish they had fresh fruits or traditional dessert like gulab jaman. Overall, if you want a variety of Indian food to try, this place is ok but I have tasted better. They displayed a lot of the awards on one wall. Maybe they do better for dinner? I'll let others be the judge.

Yelp
Food - average Indian food in houston, average price. This is my first time here and we ordered a few dishes the servers recommended including the chicken tika masala, lamb Rogan josh, Manchurian fried cauliflower, chaat, naan, rice. The curry needs a little more depth in the flavor. Meat wasn't particularly tender. Wouldn't recommend the Manchurian cauliflower it's like orange chicken or general Tso chicken but cauliflower version and it's not even crispy. Service - friendly Ambiance - nice clean organized, love the booth areas

Yelp
Food my favorite Weekend Buffet. Food is tandori chicken, saag panear and Ratia. Price is reasonable with wide variety to choose from. Location is convienent just a litte west of Chimney Rock on Richmond. Outstanding service. A must try.

Yelp
I went here for the lunch buffet earlier today and it was amazing! The ambiance was calming and nice. The place had a good vibe, seemed fancy but nothing needed to dress up for at all! The service was self service due to the buffet, however the staff was very helpful in refilling waters, bringing us napkins promptly when asked and bringing naan to the table! All the food was delicious! My favorite was the butter chicken and cabbage kofta it was so good! I definitely recommend this place for the buffet! It is about $20/person for the buffet but totally worth it!

Yelp
Invited here for a team lunch presented to us by one of our executive directors. They have a buffet style set up or you can order off menu. There is a variety of items including vegetarian items. Everything was delicious. They had the basics you think of with Indian food - tikki Marsala, chicken tandoori, curries, chutneys, cabbage balls, basmati rice with peas, salads, etc and naan. I may or may not have had 2-3 plates Everything was very good and the staff were super friendly. At the end, he ordered ice cream - mango and pistachio. And omg they were soooo good.

Yelp
I just read my old review that I wrote in 2012 with a certain degree of sadness. It used to be a very good restaurant back then. Alas, it is a thing of the past. Let's start with the service. It used to be efficient and friendly. Not anymore. The waiters look glum and grouchy. I agree with another reviewer who mentioned that they looks as they are being forced to work there. In the past, they used to come to my table and ask if I wanted tea of coffee. In fact, one of the waiters even taught me then to drink masala tea as it reduces sleepiness after eating Indian food. Now when I asked one of the waiters to bring me masala tea he made a face as if I asked him for hundred dollars while saying, "But I would have to prepare it." Well, no masala tea for me since then. Despite the said above I continued to come there now and then because I liked their saag paneer. Alas, my last visit there, and I sorry to write it had been a really LAST visit was recently, on May 31, 2024. On that dreadful day I, as usual, ordered salty lassi for me and my wife. Instead, the waiter brought us sweet lassi. After I complained about that, the waiter made a sour face, took our glasses and in a few minutes brought them back. "Here's your salty lassi," he said with a certain mocking tone. It turned out they just took our sweet lassi and added a huge amount of salt to it. It was not drinkable and I demanded to take it back and asked to see a manager. Meanwhile we went for the buffet to try their lamb dish. I was taken aback by its very offensive smell. At first I thought that perhaps it was due to a new spice they were trying and put some of on my plate, even though it smelled horribly. By tasting it I quickly realized that it was indeed a rotten meat that was cooked and still being served to the customers. I wish there was an inspector from the city hall present in that day. They would have closed that restaurant on the spot. Even though we tried just a small amount of it, we were suffering with stomach problems for the following two days. The manager offered to make us new lassi, which we declined as we had enough of that place. When a waiter brought us a check I noticed that they still attempted to charge of for the lassi that we did not drink. Only after I complained they removed that amount. I give it two stars instead of one because they still have good saag paneer and tandoori chicken. We have been eating at that restaurant since 1988 and it pains me to write that we most likely won't come back there.

Yelp
We had a craving for a good Indian buffet and India's filled that need nicely. They have a plethora of offerings and we tried everything, butter chicken,, sag paneer, chicken tika masala, Kheer, fresh nan brought to your table. Amazing service. Priced a little high but worth it. Wifey and I ate here at least 18 years ago, it was great then as well as now. A lot of people were ordering off the menu but we wanted to try everything. Friendly people. We'll be back.
google avatar

Collette C.

Yelp
If you wanna try Indian food or have a friend who wants to try it, I totally suggest Indias. Yes, plate orders are better but for a person trying a new cuisine, I think buffets are great so they can try several things. My favorite is the eggplant korma and of course, the saag. I do wish they had chicken tikka masala but I survived . I now I'm have a new friend who loves Indian food.

Yelp
do not eat here!!!! caught staff not washing hands after urinating. reported to management and they didn't care.

Christopher B.

Yelp
This has been my favorite restaurant of all time for years. The Indian food here is unmatched. 5 stars all around. Every time I come back to visit I make sure to stop here because I can't find any other Indian food that can match it. The service is amazing and the ambiance is a little dated but charming. Great restaurant

Yelp
The parking lot feels pretty narrow. There was a cat sitting in one of the spots, so watch out for stray felines. The interior feels like stepping back into a fancy restaurant in the 90s (wood ceiling fans, mirrors, tablecloths and wood panels). There are tables or booths to choose from. The lamb curry is highly recommended by others, but I didn't like the spices it. The lamb itself wasn't tough. The chicken pakora was hot and a little crispy. The onion salad was spicy and different. The butter chicken and saag paneer (slightly salty) were good. The dishes were all tasty, though I really liked the bean dishes they offered. The black eyed peas and daal had different ingredients, flavors and textures to enjoy. The Navaratan Korma was fun and tasty too. The naan was hot and toasty but needed a bit of salt. The rice pudding (super soft yet fluffy) and mango mousse (thick yet airy) slices were fun to try and sweet. The staff were nice and attentive.

DJ-Jimmy T.

Yelp
Self-proclaimed buffet connoisseur here. Classic Indian Buffet. Excellent variety of dishes. Really great flavors. I particularly enjoyed the spicy chicken wings, lamb curry, and tandoori chicken. The naan was hot, fresh, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside; absolute perfection. This is my go to spot now. Unfortunately, I have been here 2 weeks in a row, and may have to hit the gym.

Yelp
Long overdue review! We've been coming here on and off for the last 10yrs or so. We usually come for their lunch buffet which is very good and consistent. Service is always great. Last week I was craving some saag paneer for dinner and decided to order take out. As usual service and food were excellent. I recommend checking them out if craving Indian food in the galleria area.
google avatar

Ravi K.

Yelp
Ordered a takeout of malai kofta, daal and naan. Malai kofta was great. Daal was okay. Naan was certainly not fresh. Prices are reasonable. Will give it one more chance by dining in just because malai kofta was so good.

Yelp
I don't know very much about Indian food, but if India's is representative, it's a very good start. Pulling into the parking lot, the restaurant is partially hidden by the larger buildings beside it. Don't let this stop you. Before we got to the door someone was there to help us inside. We were there with iBUG Today for a group dinner. The smell of fresh spices emanated out into the parking lot. We had the chef's platter which was a sampler of the different appetizers available. I shared it with my husband. We had lamb biryani followed by some mango ice cream. I guess this was very basic fare but this was our first try of Indian food. The lady on my other side was vegan. We will be back for more. Service is quiet and attentive, decor was colorful and neat. Yes, I enjoyed the food and ambience.

Yelp
This place has always been consistent with the quality and level of spice in all of its dishes. Service is always professional and friendly.

Yelp
I wanted to go for an Indian buffet cuz I'm a fiend for variety. This didn't really hit the spot though because everything was super mild and under seasoned to my taste. I want to feel some heat when I eat Indian food but the overall taste was sweet. Everything was fresh and decent and I enjoyed my mango lassi. The service was fine and the restaurant was clean and organized. I don't think I'll be back; there's plenty of other Indian restaurants to try. It's good for someone who's never had Indian food but those accustomed to the flavors would prefer more heavily spiced dishes.

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
This is a fantastic restaurant. We have both dined in and ordered to-go, and have been extremely pleased every time! The staff here is so wonderfully kind, and the food never disappoints. If you are looking for an authentic Indian restaurant, I highly recommend India's! We will try something new occasionally, but our tried and true favorites are the vegetable samosas, the garlic naan, chicken tikka masala (spicy), and the tandoori lamb kabobs. They are all outstanding!

Reiri S.

Yelp
I was there for a buffet lunch. Great variety of items, all with great taste. The chicken, lamb, and curries were done to perfection. My favorite side is the pickled onions (forgot the actual name) - I didn't know that onions could be dressed so well with all of its aroma enhanced and none of the stringent aftertaste. The waiters and owner visited the tables and were pleasant and attentive. The interior was spacious, clean, calming, and had a touch of class. I enjoyed my window seat, gazing at bumble bees visiting the yellow bell and canna flowers planted at the front.
google avatar

Connie L.

Yelp
This place is a very elegant spot when you come in, you are transported back in time to the 80's. Everything clean and smartly decorated. The food was exemplary. Everything tasted just as or should.

Gladys W.

Yelp
I ordered a grey goose martini, and there was a silver hair in it . The waiter told me it is not a hair, it is a plastic thread....they did not even make a new drink for me but instead they spent 10 mins investigate and argue what the martial was. Will Not recommend this place at all ....
google avatar

Karyn K.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch and it was beyond flavorful and Everything was prepared to perfection! Nice interior, friendly, welcoming and attentive team ... all made for a memorable experience!
google avatar

Robin L.

Yelp
The service is always great and the food is buffet so everyone is happy. This is a safe place to take people that don't like too much spice but all the flavor.
google avatar

Timothy W.

Yelp
Great distance from the Metropolitan city span Houston. Private parking, clean establishment & friendly staff await those who visit India's Restaurant. I ordered the Chicken Korma ( personally requested it spicy) & the chef did not disappoint one bit. The fragrant Rice addition was pleasant & Chicken Korma proved immensely savory. Desi Cuisine is one of my absolute favorites & a perfect sauce usually makes my meal 100%. Dinner meal was unusually affordable as well for such a large portion of food. I'm quite impressed with India's Restaurant. I will be returning. Superb service
google avatar

Jay F.

Yelp
Ordered to go the food was ready before I arrived. Everything was flavorful and service was quick.
google avatar

Yelp
the food is very good, consistent, and i enjoy the buffet option. The flavor isn't out of this world but it's definitely pretty good. Very quiet

Yelp
AMAZING EVERYTHING!!!! Delicious, flavorful food! Every single option ok their menu is 5 stars for me and my family! I highly recommend their buffet served daily from 11am- 2:30pm. This way you can try many delicious options. Service is always welcoming, prompt, and speedy. I love their welcoming ambiance and lovely decor. I always end my meal with their delicious rice pudding and a delicious cup of coffee. Great work India's!
google avatar

Kelsey B.

Yelp
The best Indian restaurant in Houston! Totally underrated. My family has been coming here for over a decade. Perfect for those who can't handle the spice but love the flavor.

Dileep P.

Yelp
Went there recently for a family function. Service was okay. Food can't be called Indian. It's Americanised Indian food, for people who can't handle spicy hot food. Tandoori Chicken was the worst. No taste at all. I spit it out after 1st bite. Ordered Mint Lemonade. They brought standard lemonade with mint leaves sprinkled on it. Forgot to blend it or don't know how to make mint lemonade.
google avatar

Kushal S.

Yelp
Ordered takeout, definitely hit the spot. Chicken tikka masala, malai kofta, paneer makhani, and navrattan korma were all tasty. The vegetable biryani has room for improvement, flavors were not as well developed. Parts of the naan were a bit thicker than other areas, seems like it wasn't kneaded properly or perhaps wasn't cooked in the tandoor long enough. I was a bit surprised this restaurant does not send complimentary plain rice with entrees, this is typically standard practice with most Indian restaurants.
google avatar

Peter N.

Yelp
Food: is authentic and fairly flavorful, though I've had better naan. Service: is friendly and helpful, though I think they check in a little too often. Ambiance: is fine with plenty of seating and parking. Value: could be better. The portions are slightly small. Dinner for 3 will cost nearly $100.
google avatar

Eric M.

Yelp
We went for the lunch buffet on Saturday. Everything was fresh and delicious. It was my first time eating there even though I lived less than a mile away for 15 years. I remember my parents talking about eating there back in the 80s. It looks a little bit rundown from the outside which is probably why I never wanted to go there until now. I will definitely be going back. My only complaints are that there was very little spice (heat) to the food and the bread wasn't the best that I've ever had. The flavors were great though - well worth $20
google avatar

Peter E.

Yelp
I had to stop for some Indian food since I was in the area and I live quite a distance from any Indian buffets these days. What a rip off. $19.43 for a lunch buffet. The only 3 items of any worth was Butter Chicken, Lamb Curry and a Korma. The lamb curry had no flavor and the meat was so dry I had to spit it out after chewing it to death. The Korma and the butter chicken were nothing special. There was a mushroom something or other but it had no mushroom flavor probably because it had so few. Oh they had a tandoori chicken but after tasting the dry lamb which was actually in a sauce I knew it too could only be another dry meat. I arrived at 1.20pm and the onion bhaji was empty never to see another refill. And that was it apart from a couple of salad items and 2 desserts. Rice pudding and something else. Pathetic. Demand better. This restaurant is taking the proverbial piss.
google avatar

Mehwish R.

Yelp
Delicious and hearty lunch buffet close to the galleria with fresh food and fresh naan. Gotta come here more often. Customer service on fleek.
google avatar

Frank R.

Yelp
We always look forward to eating at India's. - Love the food. Perfect Tandori chicken, delicious Butter Chicken, - Everything on the Buffet Is incredibly delicious. You want more but you are too full, and satisfied. So You grab a little Rice Pudding and start planning your next visit. Great food!!
google avatar

Susheel K.

Yelp
Ambience - Food - Service - all top notch - have been dining here for almost 8 years and when I am in town I am here almost daily. They know what they are doing and to give them only 5 stars is a travesty. Thanks for taking care of this diner. Keep up the great work
google avatar

H C.

Yelp
I hadn't been here in a while. It's always great when I do come. Good food and good service. I took a colleague today for the first time and he loved it. Food was delicious!
google avatar

Jim D.

Yelp
I can't believe that it has taken me so long to come back to India's. Some of the other Indian buffets have shut down, but India's is open and it is great. For business lunches where you have limited time, it is a great way to get delicious Indian food and make your next appointment. The buffet has a few chicken dishes and goat curry. But, if you are vegetarian there are so many choices. Service is always the best and the setting is quite elegant.
google avatar

Michael P.

Yelp
I had dinner at the restaurant after a few years. The service was excellent as usual. The owner came by to check on us. He had purchased the restaurant a few years ago. Food was not too spicy. Good flavor and variety.
google avatar

Debi B.

Yelp
Yum! What a wonderful place. A coworker brought our team for the buffet lunch here and as an Indian food lover I was so excited. Indian buffets are the best as you can try some new things and have many flavors at once without having to buy the dish. We got there at like 11:40 am and were the first ones. There were numerous servers tending to us. They made sure we had everything we needed. Water, mango lassi, papadum, hot naan. This was probably the best water refill service I've experienced in a while, never empty, even after we paid they continued to serve us. Several other patrons joined during the lunch hour. Due to covid precautions, the buffet was served by a staff member, you just told him what you would like from the buffet. They had many great classic options like butter chicken, saag paneer, and navratan korma. All very mild dishes, so definitely leaves you craving more spice. That would probably be my only suggestion is to add more spicy dishes but I think they try to please more palettes. For the great price of $14.95, however, I will very very happily scarf down the mild classics. Let me also point out that rice and naan are all included in the buffet price - a huge perk compared to paying $2-3 a serving typically. Everything was delicious. Great deal. I will be back soon & take pics next time.

Rhiannon H.

Yelp
Great Indian food. It's a nice date spot. We always get the dinner for two. So yummy.

Ted G.

Yelp
Food was really good. Weight staff was quite attentive, and surprised that I could drink so much beer and the smell of the dining room was delicious. Since I am blind, I cannot see decorations and such but I can definitely smell the room and hear the music. And obviously taste the food. My wife and I had the chefs ladder for an appetizer for two and then we shared the what I would call, lamb fried rice. The beer was a little expensive, however, if it is a Taj Mahal, one would expect it to be.
google avatar

Ken M.

Yelp
Been a while since we were last here (due to Covid). Food is still tasty and fresh and service is excellent. Unfortunately there weren't many people there for the buffet lunch.
google avatar

Holly H.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed everything I had here. Will make this a regular spot we dine at on weekends so we can enjoy their buffet. Everything was seasoned to perfection from the samosas to the butter chicken and the spinach with cubes of cheese in it! They bring you fresh, warm naan when you sit down. It was $42 for two buffets with sodas. Not bad considering the quality of food and service from the wait staff.
google avatar

Andrew K.

Yelp
This is the best Indian restaurant in Houston. It's absolutely phenomenal. The food is terrific. I love chicken tikka masala and this is some of the best chicken tikka masala I have ever had. The quality of the food is always up to standard. The chicken tikka masala sauce is so good, rich and creamy. Perfect taste of curry and spices. Omg. The garlic naan bread is also perfect. It's soft and fluffy and tasty. The portions are big too. The samosas here are also excellent, although not pictured, I highly recommend them. You definitely leave feeling full and satisfied. They also have a lunch buffet which is terrific.

Yelp
I came here on a Friday night, and it was pretty busy, in a good way! First off, the service here is PHENOMENON. The servers were extremely attentive to us, were constantly refilling my water, and were so kind. We tried the two saag paneer dishes that they offered. Both were SO good. I highly recommend to anyone who likes paneer! :) We also tried chicken tikka masala with their garlic naan bread. The fried okra were really delicious, seasoned well, and crispy. Their mango ice cream and pistachio ice cream were really delicious too! I liked that they cut it into pieces to split with your group. This is perfect when you're too full to commit to a full scoop of ice cream by yourself but you definitely want a bite of dessert! We also got an order of gulab jamun, which comes with 3 pieces! SO delicious and sweet. Perfect for anyone with a big sweet tooth. I will definitely be coming back! I loved this place so much!
