Indigo Cow opened recently, and I was interested in giving it a try. Touted as the first Hokkaido soft serve creamery in the country, I was curious in how it was, as I'd never had Hokkaido milk/ice cream before.
We went after lunch in the area, and there was a small line out the door. However, the line went fairly quickly, and we got our soft serve quickly.
I opted for a small Hokkaido milk soft serve with Matcha-centric (matcha syrup, powder, and warabimochi) while my partner got the small swirl (Hokkaido milk and matcha soft serve) with Belgian Chocolate Wall (and added black sesame syrup). There are no seats inside and only one bench outside; we stood outside the shop to enjoy: I enjoyed mine, as it was nice and matcha-forward-- the warabimochi tasted soft and fresh, too. My partner's was black sesame-forward, very nutty and the texture from the hardened chocolate was lovely. However, the soft serve, while cold and smooth, was a bit on the watery side and melted fairly fast. I'm picky about my soft serve/ice cream, as I like a thick, creamy, and rich texture.
Overall, Indigo Cow is still a solid place for some tasty treats. A bit on the expensive side, but that's what you get for quality Hokkaido milk!
