Indigo - Review - Marina - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Indigo is a Marina cocktail bar and restaurant that’s open until 11pm most nights (and midnight on weekends). The menu includes a range of American dishes like a wagyu smashburger, polenta and mushrooms, and a pink peppercorn caesar. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Julia Chen

Google
We visited Indigo last Friday and received a great service from Kash and Susie, the food (late night dinner menu) was delicious, but the cocktails were amazing!!! Looking forward to go back and try their dinner menu. 100% recommend to try the wings and the tequila lime sauce 💚.

Google
You rarely find one restaurant that lives up to their 5 stars reviews. Indigo deserved it. The restaurant was located in a nicer part of the City, no homeless people or dirty streets. It offered a simple menu and food was served with delicious flavors. Service was attentive. Overall, it was a great experience, and it didn’t break our wallet.

Google
Amazing Wings and Smash Burger Indigo Hot Sauce is GREAT. Classy atmosphere and amazing customer service. Nice to see the owner going to each table and ask for honest feed back after parties finished their meals. The Happy Hour Menu was priced great for the quality Will Be Back when I'm next in town. I even bought some sauce to go

God they are just so adorable. The couple that owns it is so personable and kind! My mom literally didn’t want to leave she was having the time of her life. Food was amazing. Drinks were glorious. Don’t question it, just get the pornstar martini

Google
What a special spot. We rolled in after snagging a last minute reservation for a night out and Im so happy we did! Great vibe, service was incredible, amazing burgers and cocktails. Was the exact ambiance we were looking for as out-of-towners having fun in the city. Cant wait to come back!

Google
Visited Indigo twice on a recent trip to the Bay Area with friends. They have carefully curated a fantastic food and beverage menu with thoughtful glassware and presentations. This place was bustling…stellar and friendly service (attentive but not annoying). Highlights were the kash smash burger, polenta with mushrooms, steak, and the tequila lime chicken wings (not pictured, but so flavorful). Cocktails were unique and tasty. Perfect date night spot or place to catch up with friends for an intimate dinner. Cheers to this amazing new spot in the Marina.

Google
Great new place! The cocktails are not only delicious but unique. The food was also extremely good. If you like oysters and tuna, the oysters here are a real treat! The burger is fantastic, and everything in general is very well executed. On top of that the folks there are friendly and provide great service.

Google
I stumbled upon Indigo in San Francisco completely by accident, and I’m so glad I did—it’s one of those rare finds that makes you feel like you’ve uncovered a secret. I started with the berries salad, which was overflowing with fresh, vibrant fruit. The toasted almonds added the perfect crunch and a subtle nuttiness that tied it all together. Then came the chicken wings appetizer—honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. They were perfectly crisp on the outside, tender inside, and seasoned just enough to be flavorful without overwhelming the palate. For my main, the chicken was unbelievably moist and tender—cooked to absolute perfection. But the star of the night? The Kash Smash burger. Everything about it was spot on: the soft, perfectly toasted bun, the ideal amount of sauce, and a patty so juicy it practically melted in my mouth. I went in not knowing what to expect and left already planning my next visit. Indigo isn’t just a happy accident—it’s a place worth seeking out.

Yelp
Excellent food, excellent service,The burgers were simply delicious, the beet hummus was excellent, and the polenta was a dream.

Yelp
Wow so good! We had a great experience and got to chatting with one of the owners, so lovely and we learned this is a relatively new venture so i am thrilled to leave such a glowing review: The drinks- my margarita was perfect (and I'm picky) it tasted exactly as I would have made it at home myself, not overly sweet or artificial. Strong! My partner got the seasonal pumpkin drink that was DELICIOUS and again, deceptively strong so be warned that if you're a lightweight like me you might not get to try more than 1 drink in 1 visit. The food- delicious! After our excellent cocktails I got a little worried that the food would be underwhelming and I was so wrong. My favorite was the oyster sashimi creation, who knew that oysters would be even better with little bits of sashimi thrown in? Not me but now I'm obsessed. The berry spinach salad also rocked, nothing that creative but it was well executed and we basically licked the bowl. The steak had an excellent rub on it, though I was starting to slow down at this point. Comes with homemade chimichurri which I don't personally care for but my partner enjoyed. The corn though. The corn was sort of like deconstructed elote and it was SO GOOD I did eat more than my half share. Partner fortunately liked the fries better so we made a trade. Inside is an upscale modern ambiance. We came early and didn't need a reservation but as we left around 6:30 it was filling up, even on a weeknight. We will definitely be back, the owner said the menu will have some seasonal variation and I must have the oysters and corn again.

Yelp
My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Indigo this week. I'm having a hard time deciding if it was the service, the food or the ambience that was the best part. The owner of the restaurant even spent a few minutes with us and spoke about how important it was to use organic quality ingredients in his dishes. I would love to see a wine label or two added to there by the glass drink menu. The good news is, they have a nice by the bottle list. I highly recommend Indigo for any occasion!

Yelp
If you're a big dude and like a really comfortable chair, this is a great place to go. Chimichurri steak was fantastic, highly recommended. Isabelle provided great service and in general, the staff was really professional. I'll definitely be going back

Yelp
We walked in for dinner on a Saturday and it was packed. Our wait for a table of 2 was only a few minutes. Make reservations if possible! Parking around the area sucks so park in a lot if possible. The food was delicious and the cocktails sounded unique too. We didn't try any since we came from a bar prior, but they looked amazing when I seen other patrons order them. The steak, fish, and fries were all good! Just not a big fan of the tortilla the fish was on, but the toppings were good. The owner was so kind. He made sure to check up on all the guest and tell us about the story behind the restaurant.

Yelp
New spot. Super cute vibes esp their back pario area. Super friendly owner and staff - they went above and beyond to make us feel warm in their patio. Amazing cocktails representing different countries! And bob's donut (espresso martini but could literally taste a hint of donut) was interesting. We liked their shrimp tacos and burgers! Highly recommend.

Yelp
Stopped here for HH recently on a thursday afternoon. We started with 2 margaritas and shared some wings and fries. It was pretty quiet at first but it got progressively busier and louder as it got later and closer to dinner time. HH prices are really good! The margs were good, appreciated that they were not sweet and tasted like they use real lime juice. Refreshing and a nice start Tequila lime wings were a little bland but they brought 2 delicious home made sauces that saved them. 1 was a mango habanero and the other was a berry habanero. Both were delicious and had a nice kick to add to the wings. Their fries were awesome. Great texture, flavor and were served hot. The owner came by and introduced himself and made sure we enjoyed everything. He also mentioned that everything is homemade and made to order with fresh ingredients which definitely came across in the food and drinks. To finish I had their espresso martini which is made with a Bob's donut soaked rum. Really tasty, fun and a unique take on it! Will definitely be back for HH and to try more items. A nice addition to the neighborhood.

Yelp
Really cool new spot in the marina for food and drinks! Ordered the strachiatella for starter and the polenta and mushrooms as the main. Strachiatella is the filling of burrata, and so it's creamy and gooey texture tasted great with the olive oil and fig balsamic. I liked the polenta and mushrooms as well, in particular the chanterelles. Even if you don't have food, the drinks here are a standout. One of the coolest drinks on their menu is their version of an espresso martini - they soak donuts from Bob's donuts in their rum so it absorbs some of the chocolatey donut flavor and it really comes through in the drink which is a nice twist on the usual espresso martini. The night of the Yokai is a nice fruity drink with a fun presentation. The popping boba added a nice texture to the drink and went great with the overall fruity flavor without being excessively sweet.

Yelp
We love this place! The owners were both there and the food was delicious and amazing. A foodie spot! Complex cocktails, yum! Passion fruit Martini, Oysters, tequila lime wings, Smashburger, Cherry bomb NA cocktail. So much made in-house. Absolutely delicious! We will be back!

Yelp
My friends and I came here for a TGIF dinner and had a very mixed dining experience. We shared the ocean's bounty, chicken wings, arugula and pear salad, Kashmiri chicken skewers, steelhead trout al pastor, chocolate cheesecake and the gelato. The ocean's bounty was oysters with too much stuff (hamachi, ahi tuna, spicy tuna, uni sauce and spring onion) on top. It's really hard to taste all of the flavors and it ended up being a relatively incoherent taste. The chicken wings and Kashmiri chicken skewers were bland and definitely needed more seasoning. The arugula and pear salad was good and the steelhead trout al pastor was excellent. Both desserts (cheesecake and gelato) were also really good. Service was OK at first but got slow as the evening went on. The restaurant is really loud and it's hard to keep a conversation going. The price is good - this was around $65 per person.
google avatar

Victoria T.

Yelp
This place literally opened 5 months ago and it was packed because of word of mouth. All the tables were reserved, but my party got lucky with the owner holding the last open table for us. Everything tasted so good. The steelhead trout was my favorite. The place is dimly lit, but it had a nice vibe

Yelp
I came here for dinner with friends and this is a new neighborhood gem. The Santa Muerte cocktail with jalapeño-infused mezcal had a real kick and unique flavor profile. I got the Trout al pastor on a squid ink tortilla - the fish was cooked perfectly and the pineapple salsa gave it a nice contrast. My friend ordered the Smashburger which she thought was excellent and we shared a small chocolate cheesecake at the end - probably worth ordering one for each person if you're still hungry after main dishes. All of their cocktails are inspired by different regions of the world and the menu is an eclectic mix of new American, Italian, and Mexican inspired dishes. The owners greeted us and were quite friendly; the waitstaff was knowledgeable and charming. I liked the smaller, intimate interior. We called in advance for a party of 6 and I highly recommend a reservation for larger groups given the layout. Would definitely come back for drinks or dinner.

Yelp
First.. the waitress was just perfect, sweet & knowledgeable. Second OH MY GOD THAT BURGER!!!. It was gone before a photo could be taken of it. I in no way can explain through a review the amazingness that was THAT BURGER. All the food was super yummy, we had a breakfast burrito, Crouque Madam, banana Carmel pancakes and THAT BURGER. Everyone had to taste the burger!!! But every dish was just perfect. The MOCKTAIL selection!!!!!! YAYAYAYAYAY!! Even the loveliness of the owner stopping by the table to check on us, really friendly guy!! I will be back here many times!!!! Ambiance was really comfortable and casual. I fear that reservations are gonna get hard to come by in the not so distant future.

Yelp
Very cool and trendy new neighborhood spot. Service here was great, the staff being very friendly and attentive. We tried some drinks from their cocktail menu, and I would say they are good if you like creative drinks on the sweet and sour side. My boyfriend loved the smashburger, and I enjoyed the polenta and mushrooms, but not enough for me to re-visit specifically for- my one thought is that the menu is limited on the vegetarian options. But overall we had a nice time!
google avatar

Osman B.

Yelp
The Pornstar Martini was delicious I drink two of does! Smash burger was amazing!!! Definitely coming back

Kristina L.

Yelp
For brunch: Our server took 15 to bring us coffee. Then we waited over 30 min for our food and watched another table get their food before us when we ordered before them, so we walked out. We couldn't wait any longer. Kitchen and service seemed very inexperienced.

Yelp
Across the board, Indigo delivered on a welcoming ambiance, exquisite cocktails, bold flavors, and exceptional service! We noticed Indigo from afar walking through the Marina, and were immediately attracted to the vibe. Located centrally in the Marina, Indigo is a breath of fresh air compared to the usual Marina joint. It reminds of a cozy London restaurant with dark tones, but just enough lighting to not be overwhelming. The cocktail menu has perhaps some of the broadest array of flavors, international influence, and composition you'll find without the associated stuffy drinking experience. We really appreciated the mini-game with the owner (who provided a personal touch with all service!!) guessing the country of influence for the cocktails we ordered (Japan, Portugal, Netherland, and Mexico)! The menu is broad, marrying the California local and seasonal mentality with an expansive menu choice of flavors and dishes similar to the cocktail list. We had flavors and dishes drawing on Coastal California, Classic American, and Mexican cuisine. Elevated trout al pastor and the wagyu smash-burgers are must haves! All topped off by exceptional service from everyone that night, great conversation with Kash the owner, and true care and attention from the whole staff. Slightly pricey, but can't wait to visit again to keep working through the menu, as they plan to change it seasonally, and we know the team will keep coming up with great new ideas!

Yelp
We loved our meal! The stratciatella (spelling 80% accurate) was the star of the show. Soft mozzarella with delicious toppings and garlic basted pita bread. So fresh and unlike anything I've had anywhere else. The staff was kind and knowledgeable. It's a newer restaurant in town so if you want this great food to stick around...then get in there! You won't regret it!

Yelp
I've been in a lot of incredible places recently but I haven't been posting, but there is no possibility of me not saying this is one of the best restaurants that I've enjoyed in a long, long time! Such Wonderful people and absolutely incredible food in a very charming space in the city. I hate to leave this review because I don't want it to be too busy when I come back, (which I absolutely will) but you've got to try this place out!
google avatar

Carlos H.

Yelp
Awesome happy hour and delicious food. Love the courtyard in the back and the friendly service. The fries and wings are both delicious and the cocktails are excellent. Definitely check it out if you're in the Marina.

Yelp
Date night at Indigo was lovely. We walked in with no reservation and was immediately greeted by previous patrons who were ranting on how this gem was the neighborhood's best kept secret. The host ended up being one of the owners, and was so incredibly kind from start to finish. As someone who has grown up in the industry, SF puts me out sometimes with how imposed some establishments come off by the act of the diners dining. The service to me my past 12+ years here can come off cold, impersonal, and monotonous. That however was not the case at Indigo. The cocktails and burgers were so delicious, the service was thoughtful, concise and emotive. Thank you for everything, Indigo. We can't wait to come back! Cheers

Yelp
Indigo is a great new restaurant we found via Yelp after we cheered on a friend in the presidio half marathon! It's new and not on the map yet so it was completely empty! It had also just opened for the day. The service qas excellent our server was super nice and really knew the menu and had a lot of great recs. We all love our Bennies so three of us got the smoked salmon Benny which was amazing. It had spinach AND avocado and just the right ratio of hollandaise to the rest of the Benny. It also came with a side of arugula salad. I literally cleaned the plate, there was no crumb left. They also have two house made hot sauces one mango habenero which was hot hot hot but had a nice sweet taste. The other hot sauces tasted very similar to sriracha but homemade so better. Haha my other friend had the croque madame, which I've never seen before, also very delicious (she let me steal a bite). We also had to try the oysters, because...oysters ofcourse! They had great flavor, raw oysters with hamachi on top and some kind of ponzu sauce. Yum yum yum! My friend had the espresso martini which she loved and said she could tell there was alcohol in it. Overall a great experience! Give this gem a try!
google avatar

Yelp
Tried the Smash Burger and the Meat Me in the Morning and both were absolutely delicious! It was my first visit, but definitely not my last. On top of the great food, the staff was so welcoming and friendly, which made the whole experience even better.

Yelp
A lovely night out at indigo, very kind and attentive staff, excellent food, and lovely atmosphere. Mushroom polenta was a highlight, Stracciatella and tomatoes as well. Big thumbs up to Cash and the staff. Thanks all!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Indigo's owner greeted us right away. It was Happy Hour so ... We ordered the chaucutarie tray. The cheeses, olives and the pita were excellent. I ordered trout. It came with a delicious sauce. My parrner enjoyed the chicken skewers. We will definitely be back.
google avatar

Sasha Y.

Yelp
This place is a neighborhood gem. We had a large party with a gluten allergy, egg allergy, and super picky kids, and they accommodated us all. The burger, huevos rancheros, and poppy seed salad were standouts. Also, they might have the best fries in SF? We felt very taken care of and will definitely return!

Emily R.

Yelp
Always have the best experience at Indigo. Owner is incredibly attentive, ambiance is lovely, and the food is amazing. It's a new place on the block so it doesn't get as hectic as others nearby, but it's worth checking out for sure.

Yelp
This place is such an awesome addition to the neighborhood! Came on a Thursday night & got drinks + dinner. AMAZING service - the husband & wife duo behind this place are ! Such an enjoyable and delicious evening, will definitely be back

Yelp
Terrific service, terrific ambience and terrific food. Standard fare for happy hour drinks, but a wide-range of cocktails for the adventurous. The fall themed Old Fashioned was delicious. Our trout al pastor taco was an interesting take on a routine taco and the side of fries with aioli was gobbled down. We'll be back.

Yelp
This was a last minute choice later in the night that I chose for a date but it was really nice . The owner served us well very polite attentive gave recommendations according to our preferences we enjoyed ourselves the presentation of the drinks were so pretty we get boba added to the drink and the food was good too . Overall I believe we'd visit again

Yelp
We had a wonderful dinner. The food was delicious. The cocktails excellent. The ambiance was perfect. The service was impeccable. This is truly a neighborhood gem. We will be coming back!

Rachel F.

Yelp
I truly could not have had a better dining experience at indigo. I'm not even writing this review to be nice, I just genuinely loved the food and the atmosphere so much. The owners are a married couple opened this restaurant about six months ago and were the ones waiting tables on a Saturday night. We talked to them a lot about their menu, which they take so much pride in, and just in general they're so excited about this restaurant. We ordered all of the food on their happy hour menu and one of their salads and the shrimp tacos. Truly, everything was phenomenal. The beetroot hummus, and the berry salad were a couple favorites at our table. It was extremely fairly priced, a great vibe, and delicious food. I've already told all my friends about it and I'm very excited to go back
google avatar

Yelp
New spot in the neighborhood. Good slightly upscale casual food. Highly recommend! Their cocktail menu seems interesting: cocktails around the world.
google avatar

Viji V.

Yelp
Food was fantastic. The smash burger was juicy and so flavorful. The chicken skewer was heavenly. BUT The pita and hummus dip ! OMG a must have. The owner is lovely and very caring - comes to every table and makes an effort to say hello and explain the menu. The only thing I would change is remove the TV. It is a classy nice upscale restaurant and the TV only makes it have a sport's bar vibe. So take the TV's out and all is golden.
google avatar

Kristan B.

Yelp
Highly recommend this new restaurant in the Marina. Cocktails are on point, creative, complex, based in classics, and so worth it. The food is beautiful and tasty. I love that the menu isn't following any specific genre of food which works for someone like me that likes a little bit of everything.
google avatar

Rafi K.

Yelp
The Kashmiri Chicken skewers were fantastic! Super savory and tasty on its own but the extra hot sauce on the side gave it the kick I wanted. Even the basmati rice was perfectly flavored. Wish I had taken a pic!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food. Service was outstanding. Owner stopped by to talk. Nice relaxed environment.

Yelp
We were in SF and luckily found Indigo! Excellent food and staff. The owner came over and talked to us loved hearing his take on the restaurant. If you have a chance stop in and enjoy!!!!!

Yelp
Good people good food great service. The ambiance is chill you really feel at home the hamburger is to die for

Yelp
Great new neighborhood spot! - Incredible smash burger, great cocktails and very cool vibe.

Laura L.

Yelp
Came on a Sunday night at 5:30pm - it quickly filled up during our time there. We got the chicken wings and shrimp taco for starter, and the polenta and mushroom and smash burger as the main. Everything was really good. The chicken wings were so crispy and the shrimp taco was one of the best I've had. My husband really enjoyed the smash burger, and the polenta and mushroom was delicious as well. It came with a parmesan broth that gave the polentas such a cheesy taste. The service was great, and we would definitely return! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Meghan M.

Yelp
Loved everything, the peppercorn Caesar salad had a nice zing to it, the beetroot hummus was very balanced and the best of all was the Kash Smash!! Inhaled that.. be sure to get the fries as the side. It's worth the extra calories trust me, so crispy and perfect with yummy ketchup. The owner Kash was kind enough to stop by and chat with every table and we really enjoyed getting to meet him and learn about the process of developing some of the recipes!

robin r.

Yelp
Indigo is a lovely new spot in the Marina with enthusiastic service, inventive cocktails and nice food. We had the burger, which was ok, the stracciatella cheese plate, which was like burratta spread on a plate and garnished with fresh peas and asparagus, chicken skewers, asparagus and French fries. The stracciatella was the best dish - beautifully presented and very tasty. The asparagus were perfectly cooked and some of the best I've had in a restaurant. The chicken skewers were kind of boring - nothing special. Hamburger too. The French fries were delicious. The ambiance was lovely - a pretty place to have a quiet dinner. Bonus points: they serve food LATE on Fridays and Saturdays!! Service was very nice and the owners greeted us and made us feel very welcome.
google avatar

Yelp
Had a great time, amazing staff! Cocktails were refreshing and the fries are top notch! Don't sleep on this new gem! Hospitality is out of this world! -Rufus

Yelp
We stopped in for a quick drink and snack but I wish we had made Indigo our entire dinner plans! The cocktails were great, the spicy drinks are a great level of spice, and the Malocchio was a wonderful riff on an espresso martini. Each drink is themed after a different country, so there are lots of flavors and styles for everyone to enjoy. To eat, we had the salmon mouse caviar which was incredible. We saw one of the burgers come out for another table and I can guarantee we'll be back for it in the future! All of the servers, bartenders, etc. were extremely friendly and welcoming, everyone seemed excited for the new restaurant and excited for new customers to experience it. The owner even came by to say hi and introduce himself. The interior is classy and intimate. It would be a great date spot, or someone you could take a friend to when they visit from out of town. They should have a patio opening soon which I can't wait to see in the warmer months! Thanks Indigo, we'll be back!

Brian M.

Yelp
We were a group of four and had a great time. Really nice waiter. Food was delicious and the cocktails were brilliant. Really worth dropping in. Owner came over and thanked us for visiting.

Jay B.

Yelp
Nice smash burger and the family enjoyed the jamon and cheese omelette and Benedict sandwiches. Friendly service and comfy leather chairs. I'd return.
google avatar

Alex B.

Yelp
I have to say the food was excellent however the ambience is very depressing. I'm not sure if the layout or the lighting but it's just kind of sad.
