I constantly pass by the bright yellow storefront, and reminded myself to check out their menu online. After finally remembering to do so, I found enough on there that I'd like to try, so on one of these hot days in June, I made my way on over.
Parking is available in the form of about 4 spots right on the side of the restaurant, the rest of the spaces are for the carwash, etc. Upon walking in, a nice guy welcomed me in, asking me if this was my first visit.
One of my favorites is the vegetable samosas, so of course I went with that, and I was trying to figure out one of the rice dishes from a photo I actually found on yelp. He gladly helped me out with this, and although I wanted to omit the onions, he said the flavor wouldn't be as strong without them so for once, I decided to keep them in (he was certainly correct). I also went to order the mint chutney for the samosas but he said it already came along with it, thankfully saving me the couple dollars. He then had me choose between a small or larger size and I stuck with the small, knowing I'd only be using it on the samosas but it was nice of him to give me the option. Rounding out this order was Aloo Naan, a potato filled naan.
Food was ready within a short time, and I was on my way. I'll admit the Aloo Naan was consumed in-car, and this was really good and another upside is it's not greasy at all so you can drive and eat safely!
I knew the samosas were going to a sit-down kind of meal, so I couldn't wait to dig into this and the fried rice. BOTH were excellent; the onions kept in weren't the slimy white ones I was expecting, but were barely seen since they were so finely chopped. Along with the mint chutney was a bright orange sauce; I had asked what it was and he mentioned it was kind of a variation on bbq sauce. Also included was a masala sauce in addition to the others, and I enjoyed ALL of them, especially the orange one. I kept trying to dip the samosas in all three and regretted eating the naan earlier without sauce.
I realized I really loaded up on starch this visit, but everything I tried would be worthy of a repeat visit. It's going to be difficult trying new dishes while I want to stick to my favorites, but I'm so glad I finally tried Indimex.
From the wonderful service and the delicious food, I'm looking forward to my next visit!
