IndiMex Eats - Review - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"This tiny Indian/Mexican fusion cafe inside a Hollywood car wash is about as LA as it gets, but it isn’t just a gimmick - the food is good, too. The menu is full of classic Indian dishes, but IndiMex’s strength lies in the “Meat Lovers” section, where you’ll find chicken tikka burritos, quesadillas with masala sauce, and tacos covered in chutney. Takeout and delivery available through their website. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

The excitement I had for this place was unreal — and they absolutely did not disappoint! From the moment I walked in, everything felt just right. The restaurant was spotless and clearly well cared for, which immediately set a positive tone. I also appreciated that they had parking available for customers — a thoughtful touch that made things even easier. The service was warm, kind, and incredibly attentive. We truly felt welcomed and well taken care of throughout our visit. As for the food — wow. The prices were very reasonable, and every bite was phenomenal, cooked to absolute perfection. I had been looking forward to trying this place all day, and it exceeded every expectation. I’ll definitely be back again and have already started spreading the word to my friends. A must-visit spot!

I recently dined at your restaurant for the second time. I wanted to share a few observations from my visits. I noticed that your location is close to the car wash, which is not a plus. Also, the parking area seems quite narrow and limited. On a more positive note, I've consistently enjoyed the food. The taste is more than standard and mild, and I appreciate the warm and welcoming atmosphere you've created. I did observe that the service can be a bit slow at times, perhaps due to a limited number of staff. Despite this, I continue to enjoy dining at your restaurant because the prices are reasonable and the food is consistently delicious. It's also great that you offer a lunch menu. Thank you for providing a pleasant dining experience.

Google
Honestly, the fusion of Indian and Mexican food works so well. The burrito is loaded and so delicious. They even give you a side of sauce. The quesadilla is also a standout. Plus, the service here is unparalleled. We come almost every Sunday and they always bring us something to try. He even remembered that my friend is gluten free and brought onion bhaji. Try this place! You’ll definitely be back. I can’t recommend it enough.

Really really good food! The service is amazing! Great prices and amazing staff! Very friendly! Will definitely try to eat here again while we visit! Convenient location too!

Google
Just left my first but certainly not last visit to IndiMex and my family and I were blown away! The food was so incredibly tasty, the vibes were immaculate, and Sahan was so friendly and helpful. There were many Vegan options for my dad and he loved his food. My sister and I had the lamb quesadillas, lamb burritos, and Sahan was kind enough to throw in the lamb biryani, when my sister refused to share her burrito with me so we could try both. lol Very grateful for the experience and will definitely be back!

Place is good. A friend of mine recommended me this place. So, tree of us: my friend from Mexico, another one from Israel and me from Russia. All tree of us love spicy food. We had a good dinner.

Google
Not the best Indian food I have had but not bad either. Staff were very friendly. I liked the Chana palak rice. Gulab jamoon was soft and tasty! Do give this place a try 😆

Google
IndiMex is a game-changer! The fusion of Indian and Mexican flavors is absolutely incredible—think flavorful tikka tacos and masala-infused burritos. Every bite was bold, fresh, and perfectly spiced. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was fun and inviting. If you love bold flavors and unique dishes, this place is a must-try! Get the Burrito and Masala Fries!

Yelp
This place deserves even more than 5 stars for their flavor. We ordered the non-veg dinner for 2 and we FEASTED! We got one chicken tikka and one fish korma. The chicken tika sauce was so rich and had fresh herbs it was unlike any chicken tika I've ever had, maybe the best I've ever had! The texture of the meats in the sauces was so fresh and the service was like being in someone's living room. Felt like home cooking in the best way possible, complete with Bollywood music videos playing in the tv. Highly recommend this spot for a cute date or small groups!

Yelp
I was disappointed on the portion there was no meat on the tandoori chicken left me starving it looked pretty but two thighs has rubbery tendons and just left me hungry Over priced for what I got The person who helped was very kind and helpful but just wasn't happy with this menu item
google avatar

Yelp
Chicken Tikka Masala Burrito is absolutely something to marvel at. I was surprised to have Mexican Beans pair so well with Indian flavors, but it's a great source of extra protein. The Masala Wings were truly the highlight of the meal though, as they were so well seasoned. Excellent food, especially for the price, and a guaranteed crowd pleaser.

Yelp
A neighborhood favorite, and definitely one of our go to places for, not just Indian food, but Indian AND Mexican! They are super kind people and care about their customers and the quality of the food. Something about chicken tikka masala inside a quesadilla makes the two somehow even better. One time DoorDash messed up our order (not the restaurant's fault), and they went above and beyond to make it right. A+!

Yelp
As a former restaurateur I highly recommend Sagan delicious food And great service try the saga biranyi

Yelp
The food is hands down the best it's a perfect blend of Indian and Mexican cuisine if you are ever near it I can't recommend it enough my personal favorite is the Chicken Tika burrito.

Yelp
We had a quick stop for a chicken tikka masala burrito and paneer tikka masala quesadilla. There was a wide selection of just indian food as well which Im sure is phenomenal (it smelled amazing inside). Additionally, we had a delicious side of sauce and rice pudding. We love indian food and mexican food, and as this was our first time trying both together, we were blown away as this was the perfect fusion between both cultures. Service was excellent and the restaurant was very clean. I highly highly recommend checking this place out!

Yelp
I enjoy Indian cuisine a lot and I'm happy I tried this place out. There is a small parking lot on the side of the restaurant. I had chicken tikka masala, sagh paneer, veggie samosa, garlic naan and chicken biryani. I got the dishes in medium, but I could probably use a little more spice to it. To ty the Mexican/Indian fusion I had the chicken tikka taco. There's a small section for the fusion so this is more of an Indian restaurant. Despite that I'd absolutely come back.

Yelp
While in Hollywood to see a friend perform, I was walking to my car and spotted an Indian Restaurant I was not familiar with so I looked it up on Yelp (as I always do) and decided to give it a try. It was a small place with a handful of booths. There weren't many customers but it was also a little early for most people to have dinner. When the employee came out to seat me, I was shocked to see that it was Sahan. I knew him from my favorite Indian restaurant in Studio City where he used to be a server. It turns out he left that restaurant to open his own place. Lucky me! The menu contained many of the usual items you'd find at any Indian restaurant. But it also contained several items that were a mashup of Indian and Mexican foods, something I'd never seen before. But I chose to stay traditional and order some of my favorites. I chose the Samosas, Chicken Jalfrezi and Garlic Naan. The Samosas were delicious. They were filled with the usual mix of potato, peas and spices in a crispy, triangular dough and accompanied by the usual tamarind based sauce and a cilantro based sauce. The Chicken Jalfrezi lived up to my expectations and was cooked in a tomatoey sauce with onions, bell peppers, serrano chiles and a hint of ginger. I've had this dish in many restaurants and their version is one of my top two favorites. The naan was fantastic and had a nice char on it. Sahan surprised me with rice pudding for dessert which was a nice finish to the meal. I am beyond excited to have found this place. I'm often in this area and will be returning on a regular basis. Sahan is the ultimate host and provided excellent service and I look forward to returning so I can try some of the Indi-Mex mashups in addition to the more traditional offerings. Great job Sahan!!

Yelp
I never leave reviews but I just had to. This is the most overrated Indian food I've had in my life. Maybe I'm spoiled coming from a place where there are better options, but honestly this meal was barely worth half of what was charged for it. The "mango chutney" and "mint chutney" which were not chutneys at all, mind you, really sealed the deal in pissing me off. It was essentially sweet and sour sauce. How do they get away with this? 4.5 stars is absolutely ridiculous. I will never be ordering again.

Yelp
We caught a Fringe show at the Broadwater theater and this place was a quick walk away. The fusion menu drew us in! We ordered too much food but thankfully it also heated up well and made for delicious leftovers. Lamb quesadilla was good though a little greasy. My favorites were the Chicken Korma & Samosas. We were there on a Wednesday and it was pretty empty - the service was super speedy & friendly. Great spot if you're in the area!

Yelp
Great service and great food at this small diner like spot next to the gas station. For $12, I got this whole dish that was filling! They only opened 7 months ago, so they are hoping to get more customers. If I'm ever in the area, I will definitely come back! PS - they offer free rice pudding along with your check!

Yelp
We got the chicken tikka burrito, cheese burrito and the wings. All were really tasty although I do prefer the chicken burrito over the cheese one. Afterwards we were surprised with their homemade ice cream!! So delicious.

Yelp
Food 5/5: all the dishes were very flavorful. All must tries! The sampler platter was so crunchy and just tasted unbelievable! Service 5/5: very friendly. Ambiance I am not sure because I made it to go.

Yelp
The flavor was 5-Stars, service 5 stars, ambiance was quiet and clean. However, the food tore my stomach up. I got the tika burrito

Yelp
A wonderful lunch yesterday. We had Pani Puri chicken curry, Chicken Tikka Sagh Bhaji Sagh Dal Lamb Biryani ,Tandoori Chicken Tandoori Roti and Mango Lassi. Sahan was so helpful and the spice levels were perfect on all the dishes and the portions are large.

Yelp
A legitimately unique and underrated location in the Hollywood area of Los Angeles! I've seen this restaurant several times when I stop to clean my car at the car wash that's next door, and was always curious to try it. On my most recent visit, I decided to do exactly that, and I'm pleased to say that I wasn't disappointed in the slightest! The fusion food here is creative, unique, AND affordable! I decided to try the three fusion tacos for about $12 total, with the three tacos being the Paneer Taco, the Chicken Tikka Taco, and the Lamb Taco. All three of these tacos were packed of flavor and texture, while also being extremely filling! Nonetheless, the standout to me was the Chicken Tikka Taco, which was so rich, spicy, creamy, and delicious! For vegetarians, the Paneer Taco stood on its own as well and was absolutely full of seasoning and flavor. I was also warmly welcomed when I came in and my to-go order was ready in no time at all. There's an intimate, slightly small dining space inside if you so choose, but it's also a great option for take-out, which is what I chose. This is definitely an excellent option for delicious, high quality, unique fusion food in the Hollywood area. I highly recommend!

Yelp
What a hidden gem. Unsuspecting next to a car wash joint, this Indian with Mexican fusion cuisine is spectacular. There's four spots for parking outside but even if it's full, you still need to come to this place. Shahan was so friendly and nice. Def a nice, hole in the wall, family feel place. All the food is made fresh and even the hot sauce is homemade. We were very happy with the food. The mulligatawany soup gave the home-feels of chicken noodle soup sans chicken. The chicken tikka burrito is the love marriage between frijoles and chicken tikka with masala sauce to dip. The lamb quesadilla def didn't skimp on the meat. The sag paneer was delightfully creamy and the paneer homemade. Even the masala chai is homemade - no tea bags here! Woot. To finish off, the homemade mango ice cream - lovely. Def looking forward to come back and try more stuff. Ya can taste the love the put in the food and we're here for it!

Yelp
I constantly pass by the bright yellow storefront, and reminded myself to check out their menu online. After finally remembering to do so, I found enough on there that I'd like to try, so on one of these hot days in June, I made my way on over. Parking is available in the form of about 4 spots right on the side of the restaurant, the rest of the spaces are for the carwash, etc. Upon walking in, a nice guy welcomed me in, asking me if this was my first visit. One of my favorites is the vegetable samosas, so of course I went with that, and I was trying to figure out one of the rice dishes from a photo I actually found on yelp. He gladly helped me out with this, and although I wanted to omit the onions, he said the flavor wouldn't be as strong without them so for once, I decided to keep them in (he was certainly correct). I also went to order the mint chutney for the samosas but he said it already came along with it, thankfully saving me the couple dollars. He then had me choose between a small or larger size and I stuck with the small, knowing I'd only be using it on the samosas but it was nice of him to give me the option. Rounding out this order was Aloo Naan, a potato filled naan. Food was ready within a short time, and I was on my way. I'll admit the Aloo Naan was consumed in-car, and this was really good and another upside is it's not greasy at all so you can drive and eat safely! I knew the samosas were going to a sit-down kind of meal, so I couldn't wait to dig into this and the fried rice. BOTH were excellent; the onions kept in weren't the slimy white ones I was expecting, but were barely seen since they were so finely chopped. Along with the mint chutney was a bright orange sauce; I had asked what it was and he mentioned it was kind of a variation on bbq sauce. Also included was a masala sauce in addition to the others, and I enjoyed ALL of them, especially the orange one. I kept trying to dip the samosas in all three and regretted eating the naan earlier without sauce. I realized I really loaded up on starch this visit, but everything I tried would be worthy of a repeat visit. It's going to be difficult trying new dishes while I want to stick to my favorites, but I'm so glad I finally tried Indimex. From the wonderful service and the delicious food, I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Lynn H.

Yelp
The staff was so nice when I picked up my large order. I took one bite of the soup and had to come leave a review - this place is so delicious! The vibe inside is also super cute if you want to sit and watch Bollywood music videos while you eat.

Yelp
We LOVED it here. Incredible food and lovely service. Our table ordered the Tikka Masala, Samosas, Masala Fries, Mango Lassi and Mattar Paneer -- all delicious. And very reasonably priced. Next time, we want to try the Chicken Tikka Tacos & Veggie Korma. We'll be back!

Yelp
Honestly the best food I've had at a restaurant since moving to LA. The curry, the mango drink, the ice cream...everything was so unique, fresh and exceptional! The vibe is totally awesome and you feel very welcome. Please just go and have some food don't think - will be the best decision you make!

Yelp
Out of all the Indian restaurants in LA, this is by far THE place to go to! They opened not too long ago and already have such great reviews. If this was closer to me, I would be coming here every day! My boyfriend and I came on Sunday around lunch and it was not too busy! We got the sampler platter for appetizers, chicken tikka masala, and the chicken biryani and it was so flavorful. The prices are very affordable, considering in OC the starting price is $20+. The owner was very attentive and kind to us, making sure we liked the food and our waters were always full. For dessert, we got an order of their housemade mango ice cream! I will always come back to this place if I am in the area. Parking is a little small, so if the lot is full, I don't mind paying for street parking just to eat here. Sampler Platter: Samosa's were flakey and very filling. I love the vegetable one more than the chicken one, but that's my personal preference. My first time trying a vegetable pakora and onion bhaji and it did not disappoint! It came with two dipping sauces which paired so well with everything! Chicken Tikka Masala: My favorite! The chicken was so juicy and tender. I asked for medium spice, but it still tasted a little sweeter. Maybe I will ask for a little extra next time! I ordered a side of rice to go with this and it paired so well. Chicken Biryani: My boyfriend ordered this and, wow, the portion is HUGE and so worth it. I was spiced out since he got it Hot, but we just could not stop eating! We mixed a little bit of this with the tikka masala and was so amazed. Mango Ice Cream: Housemade mango ice cream? Count me in! I loved how it wasn't like regular scoops of ice cream. It was flakey, you can taste some condensed milk, and the mango is not overpowering. There is also a pistachio flavor, which I look forward to trying next time. Overall, we will definitely be coming back due to great service and great food!

Stepan I.

Yelp
The owner is the greatest guy ! Love the place , you get HEALTHY food for the price of fast food pretty much. it's my regular lunch place now. Didn't know anything about Indian food prior to coming here. But turns out there are so many great options , plus the vegan menu
google avatar

Christopher C.

Yelp
Not great. Chicken Tikka Masala was cubes of chicken breast drenched in mediocre sauce. Rather than chicken marinated and slow roasted in the sauce. So the sauce was very much, not connected with the protein; gravy they had poured on top. * UPDATE: following my review, someone from the restaurant reached out to me and asked me to take down my review. They told me if I changed my review to a five star review that they would refund me the cost of my food. I wouldn't be surprised if this is how they have such a high rating. I declined, but I'm sure that most people would trade their self-respect for their $15 back. This is a pathetic business practice, and any business owner who reaches out to individuals on Yelp after they receive a bad review- needs to invest their time in improving their products- rather than wasting their time, begging for a star rating that they do not deserve.

Yelp
Great food. Great service. I had the paneer Marsala, very good. The restaurant is small but cozy.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food. I ordered the Indimex dinner for two, and it was very filling. I would probably say that it is enough for three people. Not a lot of people were inside while I ate, but I did see a good amount picking up for delivery. Reasonable prices. The host was very welcoming, and the ambiance was casual with nice decorations.

Marquis S.

Yelp
Favorite restaurant in LA. The best Indian food I've ever had. Super private and low key spot. Very small and he complimented us with a free appetizer for our first time there. Customer service is truly unmatched which is the cherry on top. Don't skip out on this 5 star restaurant. Tikka masala was the best dish we had for sure.

Yelp
Yallll this is my absolute FAVORITE spot I literally got all my friends into This restaurant. It's very clean, The staff is so friendly & welcoming. & the food is so delicious every single time. I HIGHLYYYY recommend this place if you love Indian food or even wanting to try for the first time!

Penelope P.

Yelp
I have passed by this gem so many times and finally tried it. WOW! I love Indian food and I have to say Indimex is phenomenal! The place is so quaint and cozy when you walk in with red booths. I was greeted warmly by the owner, Sahan, who you can tell really cares about his customers. There are so many wonderful items on the large menu that I needed some help selecting. Everything I tried is absolutely delicious! Chicken Makhni, Shrimp Bhuna, the Eggplant, the Vegetable Samosa, the Pakora, Naan. I loved everything so much I went back a few days later(greeted warmly again) and ordered the Chicken Tikka Biryani, Vegetable Korma and the Okra dish. The Tikka Masala Burrito and the Chicken Tikka Quesadilla are also delicious! And don't forget to order a Mango Lassi! It is the best I have ever had anywhere! The prices are also reasonable and the portions are very generous!

Yelp
I was completely surprised at how delicious, authentic and savory this spot is! Wonderful service and some interesting ideas on the mex side. Well priced, clean, and a .... Unique decor to make a fun date night or time out with friends who love to laugh.

Yelp
I enjoyed the Indimex dinner for two. The chance to try different dishes and even desert gave me a reason to go back. Their food is flavorful including the deserts. I tried the rice pudding and in-house made ice cream! I also tried the strawberry lassi which was just as yummy. The server was kind and welcoming. The restaurant is cozy and cute. Plus a bonus! They have Bollywood music videos playing on a tv. Great spot for a chill dinner.

Yelp
This is Brilliant!!! Indian and Mexican Fusion. This place is near from the Hollywood walk of fame. Today we had the Tandoori Chicken, Lamb Biryani, Garlic Naan, and Masala Burrito. First of all Tandoori chicken is very well marinated and full of flavor and I love the fact it's Dark meat. The Naan was thin and crispy. Lamb Biryani was also good and not dry. The Masala Burrito was very tasty a bit too much rice but tasted very good. Overall the meal was very satisfying and memorable. We finished the meal with a masala chai and head for the road. Suhan was very accommodating. If you're in a Rush try their Burrito it's tasty and will really fill you up.

Yelp
headed to this place for indian food. place is located in its own stand alone building. exterior and interior has an old school taco mexican place then indian. so funky. but like its name its a fusion mex indian place. menu is big and has the mentioned traditonal mexican burritos and indian curreis. and their fusion items like burrito with tikka masala flling etc. decided on the chiken tikka masala sauced fries, plain naan, and the Gulab Jamun. total danage $20 bucks. waited 15mins and got the food. and the verdict? its fine. fries are cooked from frozen but it was hot and cripsy similar to a fresh batch of fires from wendys. tikka sauce was good flavor and good amount of chicken breat cubes. gulab was nice. plump and nicely sweet in hot syrup. but naan little tough and chewy. so the place isnt going to blow you out of the water taste wise but if want simple satifying meal at fair price this place fits the bill. will be back to check out the tikka masal burrito.
google avatar

Yelp
Been seeing this place for years. Now I'm a big fan. I love their chicken tikka burrito. This has quickly become a go-to spot for me before I head over to the Broadwater for some theater and the Plunge for a drink.

Yelp
As a Los Angeles resident for nearly a decade, I've always been curious about IndiMex Eats. Nestled in a convenient central location on Cahuenga with a few parking spots, this restaurant has been on my radar for years because it's Indian Mexican fusion!!!!! Recently, I had the pleasure of taking my visiting mom there for lunch, and let me tell you--it exceeded all expectations! My mom and I have both eaten Indian food many times across a few continents and we were extremely satisfied with our experience at IndiMex Eats. The menu offered a handful of delightful Indian-Mexican fusion dishes like chicken tikka burrito and lamb quesadilla. But we stuck with the more traditional Indian fares and ordered the papadum, garlic naan, lamb korma, and paneer pakora with a side of basmati rice. Everything was excellent and bursting with flavour! As if the meal wasn't delightful enough, the restaurant surprised us with a complimentary rice pudding dessert. Creamy, fragrant, and the perfect ending to our feast. Another bonus: The prices are reasonable, especially considering the generous portions. We left feeling satisfied and already planning our next visit. If you're a flavor enthusiast who appreciates a good deal and top-notch customer service, IndiMex Eats is a must-visit. Whether you're a local or a tourist, this hidden gem will leave you craving more.

Jon U.

Yelp
I love this place. One of the hidden gems of Hollywood. In general, the Indian food is already amazing, the staff is wonderful, and the environment is chill. But if you haven't tried a chicken tikka quesadilla, THEN YOU HAVEN'T LIVED. Get ready to have your tastebuds and mind blown up and unconsciously screaming"MORE PLEASE!!" Okay one final note: the mango lassi could be thicker...but that's all I've got. I love this place. You will too.
google avatar

Yelp
What a difference a few years makes. Had the chicken biryani today. It was really.... like really bland. Rice and chicken is the only flavor going. Maybe they should season it? Invest in some safron? Wow, tasteless biryani. The chicken in the "Chicken Tikka Quesadilla" was also unseasoned and didn't taste Tikka to me. There was a side of equally tasteless curry to dip the quesadilla in. Maybe that's what they mean by chicken tikka quesadilla? When I got the bill, I was charged for the side of curry. Hilarious! I feel no need to return, unfortunately. I'm glad I went for lunch and didn't waste a dinner here.

Yelp
Picked up food today and was surprised to see the new updated interior. Great seeing the investment in this establishment. Thank you for the great food again! Looking forward to dining in.

Great customer service, great food! We did a takeout order (make sure to call directly vs Uber eats so local businesses don't get a huge cut taken out!!) Everything was so so good. The Indian quesadillas were amazing!! What a brilliant idea. Can't wait to go there again in the future.

Yelp
Wow. I liked Indimex before they changed management, now I love it! I wrote a review 7 years ago with a follow up 6 years ago pre covid. Remember when? During Covid and even more recently, I would order and have it delivered. But tonight I saw they were open and there was parking space right in front so I went in person. Wonderfully warm new owner, quaint dining room albeit small but remodeled and the new owner has plans for more. - feels more authentically Indian with a Mexican twist. Indian movie posters and music, colorful walls and tables. Their Chicken Tikka Masala sauce is the real deal as is the raita. Delicious. The chicken tikka masala quesadillas are reasonable and filling. I'm so glad they survived Covid and with this new management I'm excited to see what comes next. Have an adventure as I said in my original posting 7 years ago. Tired of the same old same old? Support local businesses. And enjoy!
