The Best Jazz Clubs In LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Industry Cafe, an Ethiopian restaurant in Culver City, often hosts live jazz performances, spoken-word poetry slams, and open mic nights on the second Thursday of every month. There’s a small, string-lit front patio that’s ideal for a classically-romantic night out, but the cozy dining room is where you’ll get a front row seat to all the action on stage. While you’re here, you can order things like beef tips, doro wot, collard greens, or a platter of all three on a bed of soft injera. Make sure to follow Industry Cafe on Instagram for the latest on upcoming events." - sylvio martins

13 Los Angeles Restaurants and Bars With Live Music | Eater LA

"Culver City’s Industry Cafe and Jazz has been in the neighborhood for 18 years, serving as a hub for local musicians who can come to the weekly open jam nights that are held every Wednesday and hosting jazz performances from Thursday through Sunday. The vibes are communal and convivial, and as lovely as the music-filled evenings at Industry Cafe and Jazz are, the food is far from an afterthought. There’s a soup that is expertly seasoned, and hummus that is made extra special with bits of tomato, basil, and feta. The veggie platter is also abundant, filled with generous portions of veggies and lentils, and enough injera for two to share." - Virali Dave

Great food, great atmosphere, and great jazz. Went in on a Wednesday night and had the whole place to ourselves! Their sambussa was delicious, as were the zil zil and doro wot. You gotta try their carrot cake for dessert - divine. Would absolutely come back. Thank you for a lovely evening!

Google
This place has been there for a long time for music lovers in Culver City! (They will have 20th year anniversary special in October!!) The owner, Aron, his brother, and his staff are super friendly and create a supportive neighborhood casual atmosphere. Everyone is welcome, even you stop by solo. I go there for their music especially when they have classic Jazz like Miles Davis or Coltrane type. They serve Ethiopian cuisine with Eritrea twist and have a full bar. If my friends are not familiar with their food, we can ask Aron, he always suggests something we can enjoy.

Google
Wonderful jazz cafe in Culver City! Fantastic live jazz band. Yummy Ethiopian vegetarian plate with plenty of delicious injarra to eat it up, included. The hummus was topped with a pico de gallo type fresh salsa and queso fresco crumbles. Cheap for dinner and entertainment.

Google
My First visit here and to an Ethiopian. Great atmosphere. Milian was there. (The owner or co-owner). Nice set up. Loved the artwork on the walls. We were the only ones there. He made a greens dish with cabbage & and garlic. Soooo delicious! I ordered the Doro Wat. Chicken Tibsi, and vegetarian Platter. It was served on a big platter. The food was fresh and delicious. We enjoyed our visit. He was very personable. There is live music here on Wednesdays they Sundays. He also writes poetry, music, and books. Come on in and taste and enjoy your visit. We will be back for sure. Can't wait to come for the music!

Google
Went to Industry Cafe & Jazz during jazz night, and it was a great time! The live music added a fun and lively atmosphere that made the whole experience worth it. The food was above average, not amazing, but still good. Definitely enjoyable, just not something that completely blew me away. Overall, a solid spot if you're looking for good vibes, live music, and a relaxed night out.

Google
Have you ever not known what you needed and walked into a place on a random afternoon feeding your soul with amazing food? I had that experience today. On a leisurely stroll, looking for snacks, staring a menu from the sidewalk, and this friendly person popped out said hi and invited us in. We made our order to go but great company prolonged our stay for a chat. When we got that food home it was amazing. I could not stop eating this food. I ate the entire vegetable plate by myself. Perfectly seasoned, the injera was delicious, I’m not even a big fan of lentils but this won me over with some collard greens? Unbelievable. If you’re thinking about eating here, do it. You need it. It’s worth it for the food and the company.

Google
such a whimsical cozy place. Top notch musicians play here. The food and service are out of this world. One of my favorite places in the city. Overall it's more than a cafe. Its an experience

Yelp
Parking: got lucky with street parking on the small cross street Atmosphere: very cool interior and a nice, exotic fragrance. There was an entertaining live jazz band playing that night. Service: good and friendly Food: very good Ethiopian cuisine Overall, it's a good time for a date, meeting friends, or bringing the family

Yelp
We love coming to Industry Cafe and Jazz! The live music is always fun and creates such a great vibe. Eritrean food is absolutely delicious--my favorites are the sambus appetizer, the doro wat chicken dish, and the spicy lentils. They are generous with their wine pours, and the imported Eritrean beer is definitely worth a try. And it's all so reasonably priced! The owner is awesome about offering recommendations if you're new to this style of food, and the staff is always so warm and welcoming when we bring our kids. Our younger two have sensory issues and no one bats an eye or hesitates to accommodate their needs, which is refreshing. Between the food, the drinks, and the live jazz, it's one of our favorite spots to spend an evening.

Yelp
In any other town there would be a line out the door to get into a place like this. Somehow in LA it's still a hidden gem. Very affordable spot that delivers some of the best live music, food and service you can find at any price. Even their wine is really good, which is hard to believe considering the price to quantity ratio (very generous pours). Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem! We found free street parking about a block away. If you have never had ethiopian food, this is a must. Walked in with my friend and they immediately serviced us. They usually play good jazz music in the background and on weekends they have live jazz music! We were walked through the menu to make sure we had a good understanding of the food. We ended up getting the Vegetarian Platter and the Doro Wat. They put it all together on the platter for us. This came with Injera bread, which is soft, rolled up, and has a slightly sour taste, similar to sourdough. They offered more to us later too! The flavors are so good! Lots a delicious seasoning. My favorite was the Doro Wat, which is a chicken dish. The chicken was SOOOO tender and teh sauce on it was delicious! At the end of the meal, they checked in and asked how we liked it. They were really friendly and welcoming. I'll definitely be back to try some other dishes here. I'd love to try the lamb next time!

Yelp
We're regulars here and it's always a great time , and of all the times I've been here with my husband, tonight was the best night for music . There was so many acts and the latin jazz band was the best. The men on sax , just WOW!! All of them were so good! The singer who sang the Cumbian songs was great! They were so talented! It was by far, the best music I've seen here. BUT, it was also the WORST night that I've been here . As I was enjoying the music, and really loving it, someone (who was working there) rudely walked up and started rapping gibberish jargon thinking he was the next Kanye West. He was awful and annoying and needed to ruin everyone's night with the incoherent babbling that killed the whole vibe. Even the band didn't like him just interrupting like that. I don't know why management would let this happen. They need to tell him that ain't rapping. It was total disrespect . I just hope it never happens again for other people, because everyone seemed really uncomfortable while it was happening. I don't think people came to see a grade school talent night performance. They came to see the jazz band . Disappointed for real.

Yelp
I came to listen to Jazz/Dennis Micheltree Quartet, that plays there once a month. Dennis is a multi talented sax player who plays at many big band (including Bill Holmam Big Band!) and this quartet futures his own composition. The vibe is like I am in a small club in New York or San Francisco! I ate the special veggies and chicken dish with a glass of Cab. I love to come here because of the staff members' warm welcoming manners and really relaxed laid-back atmosphere to enjoy music with no pressure!

Yelp
We walked by this little gem and oh my we were blown away. What a special Friday evening: an amazing jazz band, good vibes and delicious food. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Walked in with my parental unit on a beautiful Saturday - it was open we checked. And we waited, and waited and waited... no one ever came to help us or ask for our order. We gave it 15 minutes thinking they might be short staffed. However, we were only two of four customers in the restaurant at that time. I hope for their sake, since the place does have wonderful reviews for the evening, that they'll do better next time. Soooo sad we didn't get a chance to experience this place but it just feels icky when you are not being helped at a restaurant.

Yelp
Amazing jazz spot with delicious Eritrean/Ethiopian food and sweet, helpful staff. The band played wonderfully and we had a meaningful conversation with one of the owners. Always happy to support a family business. Definitely going back to such a cool place!

Yelp
This place rocks! The food is incredible, super lowkey and welcoming energy, and the Jazz is lovely. I should have taken a picture of the veggie platter and wings but I ate both too fast it was that good. Will for sure be coming back for jazz and injera
google avatar

Yelp
If you want to hear great music and dine Ethiopian this is it! They have American food too! Beat collard greens, veggie combo yummm! Not to be missed ..... ALULA plays incredible Ethiopian, Reggie, world music first and third Wed of the month. You will not be disappointed!

Yelp
My very 1st time trying Ethiopian food and it was amazing and deeeeeelicious! Finger licking good The service was amazing and the owner was very nice and attentive. The ambiance is very chill, intimate and relaxing. I am definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu soon. Gracias

Yelp
Honestly I didn't know what to expect but this place is a very casual spot with good food. The people were nice and the live music was fun.

Yelp
Great food and beautiful Jazz! Highly recommend! The owner served us and he said they have been around 20 years and it shows! He takes great pride in the place and was welcoming. Great spot wish we had been sooner!

Yelp
I really enjoy live music and this place has it going on! Wednesday through Saturday the music ranges from classic Jazz to R&B which makes for a nice setting if you're on a date or just out with friends. The service is fair. There is just one server who waits on all tables but once you place your order, things are brought out fast. The food is okay, After going there twice and trying two traditional Ethiopian dishes, I realize that I just don't like Ethiopian food. There is a lot of love and passion that goes into their food, but it's just not for me. I will be back for the music though!

Yelp
I was in the area and had this in my collection to try and it did NOT disappoint. My friend who is a vegetarian mentioned that Ethiopian food was vegan friendly and the options were plenty. We ordered chicken wings and fries - AMAZING. The Veggie Platter was soooo SEASONED, I can't get the red lentils out of my mind with the spice. Also ordered the lamb - OH MY GOODNESS, SOOOOO TENDER!!! Like it was just tooooo good, can't wait to order that again with the chicken. The injera was so fluffy. The side of Mac and cheese was good, typical Mac and cheese. Industry Cafe & Jazz is super cute and the food was DELICIOUS. Our server Sweet was GREAT. The owner Aron stopped by our table and assure we were good. The jazz was superb. It was a great way to have Sunday dinner. This was my first time having Ethiopian food. Parking could be sketchy but we did find parking on that Sunday and it was metered. I am not sure how it would be when there's jazz on the Saturday nights which they said was packed and a great time to come enjoy. Can't wait to stop by again for greatness.

Yelp
What a lovely start to a rockin' Saturday night! I can't believe it took me so long to have a visit to Industry cafe + Jazz! Arrived here at around 7:30pm on Saturday and the ambiance was so relaxed and cozy. Maybe it was a special night, but many of the patrons seemed to know one another which contributed to the comfortable vibe. As for the food, I only had some french fries and a few glasses of wine, so I can't speak much of it. The fries were good and for 4 bucks, was a pretty good deal for snacking on. Such a great start to my Saturday night! I know that Industry Cafe does a weekly Wednesday night jazz jam, so I will definitely find myself here for some middle of the week Jazz.

Yelp
I had a delicious vegan Ethiopian plate. Fantastic live jazz music. I gave it four and not five stars because it is cramped and noisy.

Yelp
Live Jazz Eritrean & Ethiopian food I've been wanting to try this place & finally did on Friday night. Was not crowded at all which was odd to me as it's a great local spot! The live Jazz was great!! And the food was pretty good. Jazz Cafe Hummus - yummy Lamb Tibs - tender and flavorful Zil Zil - not as tender Injera Bread - good Collard Greens - good Salad - good Red Lentils - great spice Travel_lifestyle_chow Wished this place was more poppin but would def come back.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been coming here for over a year now, it's such a quick date night for those hectic weeks. Great live music Pretty good food & good vibes only ! The fries here are so good, you can tell they are freshly made and not frozen. They're thinly cut and cooked to order. Not to mention the seasoning, 10/10.
google avatar

Jenna C.

Yelp
At Industry Cafe and Jazz, you're instantly made to feel welcome, like family. Had a great chat with the owner Aaron (if I heard his name correctly). He mentioned his mom used to cook and sing, and that inspired him to create a restaurant where good food and music could co-exist. My boyfriend and I had an amazing time listening to the talented live jazz musicians and eating the delicious, flavorful food.
google avatar

Julia G.

Yelp
A friend recommended this spot for great Ethiopian/Eritrean food and it did not disappoint! We ordered the vegetable plate and the chicken tibs to share - the tibs come with a choice of 1 veggie and a salad, we chose the collard greens. They offered to combine it all on one plate for us which was convenient, and gave us extra injera on the side. We also tried the sambusas (lentil filled samosa-like appetizer), which I enjoyed. Total per person was around $23 before tip ($19-20 per plate split between two people + $3 sambusa). For the amount of food we got I felt the value was great compared to similar spots!!! The food tasted very good as well - I loved the chicken tibs - flavorful and perfectly cooked - and the vegetables (red lentil, yellow lentil, cabbage/carrot, collards, salad) were all delicious additions to make the meal enjoyable!! Was also pleasantly surprised how FAST the food came out!! We placed our order and I kid you not it came out in under 5 minutes. Our waitress was very kind. There's a ton of indoor (and some outdoor) seating. Street parking only. Bathrooms on-site (& clean unlike old reviews I read). And live jazz music!!! Suggestions for improvement: 1) The music is way too loud. Loved the live jazz band but the speaker needed to be turned down a lot because we were yelling to each other the entire meal. 2) Only 1 waiter, so on a busy night it took a while for us to get our water refilled and get the check. Also appreciated the owner/chef coming out to check in with us and see how the meal is! A nice personal touch and he welcomed us to the restaurant and to the family! Overall will definitely recommend to friends for great food and fun atmosphere!!!

Yelp
My friend and I walked past this beautiful gem of an establishment after a concert organized by Synchromy and we heard some jazz playing inside-- we really couldn't resist. The music was amazing, the musicians were warm and welcoming, and the service was splendid. It was almost closing time for the restaurant -- but we really didn't want much apart from a slice of dessert (tiramisu), a coffee and some jazz tunes (first Saturday of every month!). We really had an amazing time and I can't wait to come back and actually try their food (I am such a sucker for Ethiopian). Overall, HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
google avatar

Yelp
I really enjoy coming here! My favorite order is the beef tibs with a salad and cabbage. It always hits the spot. One thing that sticks out and keeps me coming back is the service and the ambiance. The staff/family that run this restaurant treat their customers like friends, with warmth. There's also frequent live music and poetry nights. I always see different types of people here. Even though it's street parking (in Culver City, yikes!), I usually don't have trouble finding a spot.

Marie C.

Yelp
Went here with friends who raved about how delicious this place was. This was my first time trying Ethiopian food and it was absolutely delicious. I recommend getting the platter with the proteins or vegetables you like with a group. We went on a night that wasn't so busy but I heard that it can get lively on weekends, especially when they have live jazz! I am glad this place was my introduction to Ethiopian food because I can't wait to go again. Next time, I plan on going with friends for one of their jazz nights. It is such a lovely place!
google avatar

Aaliyah P.

Yelp
Loved this place! Will totally be back. Such a hidden gem in Culver City area. Went with my sister and we shared the veggie and chicken and it was enough for two of us with some left over. I highly recommend trying it out! Wednesday they also have live jazz which was just lovely! We met the owner and he was very sweet and accommodating. Thanks for the experience.
google avatar

Yelp
My friend and I came here for dinner and jazz on a Friday night at 7 pm. I tried to make a reservation before coming over the phone, but was told they only take reservations for 4+. When we arrived at 7, there was only one table there eating already, so we were able to get seated immediately. They have a cool outdoor seating area where the band also starts playing a bit after 7. The food here was good but the menu was not very varied. I got the vegan platter which I liked. They gave us a basket of injera on the side, combined with the main dish, everything was very filling. Would recommend if you're looking to check out a jazz place with Ethiopian food.

Yelp
Yes yes yes, this is a local gem in Culver City. The food is authentic, live band Thursday-Saturday, and all of the people that make this place so welcoming. The servers are so gentle and kind. Give you that family feel. Just image if you were in the motherland. On this visit I ordered the vegetarian plans and grind ordered the chicken. Now I'm a big meat eater but I was giving it a rest and getting more veggies although I probably ate more injera than I should have but I don't feel guilty about it. Not one bit. We were on the patio outdoors and it was at night and the weather was good to us. It's always nice to listen to a live band while eating and being surrounded by people who appreciate live music. It's definitely a vibe and intimate community. The waiter was telling me they are bribing back their after hours to eat, drink and chat the night away and I can't wait to hang and meet new friends. Show this local restaurant love, I am sure to be back.

Thomas S.

Yelp
This by far was one of the best evening I've had! My wife set up a birthday dinner with three of the best things, friends, Ethiopian food, and Jazz. The owner was so accommodating and frequently asked if we needed anything and if we were enjoying ourselves, the service rivaled Michelin star restaurants we've dined at. The food was amazing! 5 star I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant to anyone wanting to celebrate with friends or just a romantic date night. You can't go wrong!!!
google avatar

Lani G.

Yelp
This little neighborhood place is a hidden gem! We've been here a few times now and it never disappoints. The vibe is always chill, the food is delicious, and the owner is so down to earth. They have live music with different bands rotating, but the bands are always great! Unlike most of LA, this place is unpretentious, warm and welcoming. Wonderful date spot but also family friendly. Food wise, we got the Doro Wat and Zil Zil tonight (Doro Wat has a little kick to it so beware if you can't do spicy) - both were so good. Music tonight was provided by JD Hall - such a talented band with a great vocal range and lots of energy and spirit. 10/10 will be back here again and we have plans to be a regular!

Yelp
Ambiance 4/5: simple and trendy Ethiopian restaurant, outdoor and indoor seating, street parking, very loud live music inside at night, and it took so long for the band to set up and test instruments, and the actual start time was more than one hour later than it's scheduled Service 0/5: rude and slow, the server brought some thing wrong initially and had terrible attitude to correct their mistakes, let alone it took such a long waiting time to get food served, when less than one third of tables got seated, not acceptable how slow it was for a not so busy night Food & Drink 2/5: simple menu items, and some ran out of stock Jazz Cafe Sambus - *** Savory pastry filled with lentils, roasted onion, jalapeno, garlic and special spices served with special dip, crunchy outside plain inside, average taste Doro Wat - **** Classic Ethiopian chicken dish, authentic spiced drumstick chicken stew dish with unsalted organic butter, fresh ginger, berbere, mixed traditional spices and hard boiled eggs served with injera bread, salad and one veggie side, very spicy and bold taste, recommend Zil Zil - ** Sizzling strips of tender beef, sautéed in purified organic butter, roasted onions and peppers served with injera bread, salad and one veggie side, overly chewy beef and flavorless Red Lentils - *** Red lentils cooked with traditional spices, average taste Collard Greens - ** Greens freshly cooked with traditional spices, poor quality Stella, Lagunitas IPA, Eritrea Beer - *** bottled beer Asmara St. John Ethiopean Beer - * so shocked, they served expired beer here Price 3/5: moderate portions, and over priced for the bland taste, expect about $35+ per person, overall terrible experience and I wouldn't return, and definitely not recommend friends to come

Yelp
Food: 3.5/5 Food with awaze: 4.5/5 Ambiance and service: 5/5 I fell in love with Ethiopian and Eritrean food in the Washington, DC area. I was ecstatic to hear there were many similar restaurants in LA. I stopped by here with my friend on a Friday evening in May, and it was delightful. I am used to having the veggie platter in other places serve 2-3 people, but it turns out this platter serves 1-2 people. The price at around $15 (instead of $23 or so) matches, though. We originally found it a bit bland, but when we asked for awaze sauce, that kicked up the food to amazingness levels. The Asmara beer was refreshing with a slight complexity. The live music and outdoor seating were lovely. The owner and server were very gracious and warm. Will definitely come back here if I revisit the area.

Yelp
Live music, friendly owners and delicious food. Great date spot. The food is Eritrean which is similar to Ethiopian

Yelp
The customer service and vibe was 4.5 stars, but the food and drink choices are what drop it down to 3. We came in on a Wednesday 6 it just so happened to be a jam session happening, so that was a nice bonus. Ordered the veggie plate, it just didn't do it for me. The seasoning was off and kind of bland. The samosa(sp) was really good. Overall I will definitely be back, but I'll eat before coming.

Yelp
Came here for a jazz night hosted by musicians. Overall had an okay experience - the service was not that great throughout the night and it was difficult to flag the waitress down. The food is mainly Ethiopian and to be honest it wasn't my favorite but if Ethiopian is your jam perhaps you will have a better experience than me :) My main gripe was that everyone talked so loudly over all the musicians while they were performing they might as well not of even come. Since the venue hosts jazz nights frequently I think they should do a better job at actually encouraging listening in the space.

Sheena N.

Yelp
The male owner or manager was very polite and got us a table on a full night. The ambience with the music was great but the food was the worst I've had. We were curious about the sizzling dish at a nearby table. It smelled great but after receiving a giant platter of the lamb, beef and chicken tibs with various lentils and veggies, the meat was inedible and rubbery with all having no seasoning. It's rare to find such bland food and poor quality meat at a restaurant. The lentil sambusa was ok but under-seasoned again. The injera was soft and good. I hope the chef and owners reconsider their food quality and recipes to match the vibe. The only saving grace is the atmosphere but I will not eat there again. Go for the music and drinks but not the food!

Yelp
We found ourselves in Culver City trying to avoid rush hour on the 10. A lucky turn put us at this place and the reviews looked good so in we went. Had NEVER tried East African (Eritrean and Ethiopian) food but felt adventurous. Aron was knowledgeable and personable and suggested a meat Tibsi and the vegetarian selection which came with Injera, an African bread. Absolutely phenomenal meal!! I ordered a Chardonnnay and my SO ordered a Pinot Noir, both really good. My only regret is it wasn't Wednesday through Saturday when they have jazz and other music. Garlic and tomatoes with beef were so good. You won't be disappointed

Liza K.

Yelp
We visited this restaurant a few months ago and I forgot to review until we were headed back a second time We live in the South Bay so we don't have as many unique experiences like this near home, but it was worth the 40 minute drive for us! We ordered beef tibs and a veggie plate to share, which was a perfect amount for the two of us. As for the few people saying it is bland, I guess it depends on how you like your food. I definitely don't feel like I enjoy bland food, and I love all kinds of foods, and I thought the food was excellent. It was not super spicy, which was good for me as I have had some Ethiopian food that is too hot. Save room for the carrot cake, which is really, really good. My uncle was nervous to try new foods so he ordered a burger and enjoyed that. The jazz was amazing. Also, I think sometimes people who are saying "turn it down" don't fully understand how instruments work. A live, real drum set is loud. You can't turn it down. So if you have drums and other instruments playing in a band live in a smaller building, it isn't the best place for a long conversation. The band took breaks and we talked more then, but enjoyed the music more for listening when they played (but chatted a bit during that, without feeling like we were in a concert but in a cafe). Definitely check this place out.

Yelp
This is a tasty place for folks who aren't used to authentic cuisine or who prefer blander palates. The owners are great. The prices, however, for the amount of food, and the lack of flavor are not so great. We highly recommend Inglewood Ethiopian restaurants and were excited to find a restaurant serving Ethiopian dishes nearby, but this is not a place we recommend unless you are looking for a much blander version of Ethiopian eats. The owner is a charming man though, and the restaurant itself is very cute- he took time to orient my partner and myself to the layout of the store and show us where the Live Band! plays outdoors.

Yelp
The service was excellent. The food: incredible (I'd never had Eritrean food before!). And we happened in on a Saturday when live jazz was playing - did not disappoint. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this place.

Yelp
What a gem in culver city! I always tell people in culver to check this spot out because it is somehow still not known to everyone. The food is flavorful and tasty, especially if you like some heat. The owner and staff are some of the friendliest I've encountered in LA. The musicians are talented.

Yelp
Such a cool space! I was in the mood to listen to live jazz during the weekend, but didn't want to be in a busy area. As I was searching online I came across this spot which was close to an art gallery I was checking out in Culver City. It was meant to be because when I called the restaurant around 5pm, the owner shared if I got there no later than 6pm I would have no problem getting a seat. We parked right across the street in a residential neighborhood. There was hardly any traffic, and absolutely no wait. Experience: We got there around 6:10 pm, there were only two tables available but we decided to sit at the bar, which was empty. It's a small intimate space right on Washington Blvd. There is an outdoor patio with heated lamps, and a good two handfuls of tables. Very homey, dim, and the jazz band was already playing when we walked in. They were positioned right at the front by the door. We took in the vibes for a few minutes before ordering. The owner was friendly and kind, and busy! Staff was small but they were attentive and in good spirits. Food/Drink: We started with a St. George lager beer, a glass of water, and a sambusa, which was so tasty and lentil filled, reminded me of a samosa. I don't generally order beer with dinner but I wanted to try the beer from Ethiopia. After about 10 minutes we ordered the vegetarian platter, it came out about 10 minutes after ordering. Presentation was lovely, nice and colorful, full of veggies, and we were given an extra plate of ingera bread, nice and spongy. I've eaten this dish three other times in my life from different restaurants, so to compare, the potato was not fully cooked, there were parts I couldn't break off. I'm not familiar with how Ethiopian food is supposed to be seasoned, or perhaps I use too much salt in general when I cook, but the taste was a little bland. Super healthy, edible, but I would have appreciated a little more seasoning. Again, if this is not how the dish is supposed to be, then I apologize. Menu is straightforward, and doesn't offer a million options, which I appreciate. Overall, wonderful experience, and for the price in LA, pretty darn good. I shared with my husband and we left full. I will absolutely be back to try other dishes and listen to jazz! A gem for sure.

Yelp
First time trying ethiopian cuisine. The owner/manager was warm and friendly. He was also quite generous with his time in suggesting and introducing menu items and tastings. Pleasant all around. Fun and full of flavors, thoroughly enjoyed the fare. The ambiance besides welcoming, friendly service...is wonderful music. Seemed to have begun sometime after 7pm. This night it was quite mellow and relaxing. Played some original kick-back tunes as well as some favorite oldies. Would be happy to return and try other dishes and repeat performances from the menu. Thumbs up!

Yelp
The food was not good at all. I ordered the chicken tibs. I could tell the veggies had been sitting for a while. The hours of operations posted online are not accurate, including the hours posted for Saturday .

Yelp
Terrific local spot with well played smooth jazz, inexpensive good food, and a very accommodating staff. Reservations aren't needed although it does fill up by about 9:00 on week-ends.

Yelp
This spot is such an awesome community hub for music lovers and locals. The vibe is relaxed, casual and cool and the food is excellent. Also who doesn't love Ethiopian food and live jazz! Bring a friend, grab some beers, eat a little too much and enjoy the Wednesday jam session. Very cool, will be back soon.

Yelp
Kind staff, laid-back vibe. A bit dim inside, but cozy atmosphere. Am told there are jazz nights, which would be cool to check out. Had no idea that Industry serves Ethiopian/Eritrean food upon stumbling into the cafe for lunch. I had Ethiopian food once, and I was keen on having it again. I've since gone twice, having the vegetarian platter with injera bread the first time (really tasty, and HUGE portions) and fried catfish (a bit too small, and lacked in flavor). For anyone with a craving for Ethiopian food and in West LA, Industry is a decent fix for that!
