Nestled in Sunset Park, Industry City transforms historical warehouses into a lively hub of trendy eateries, shops, and art, complete with outdoor events and a vibrant food hall.
"A festival celebrating seltzer with events including the National Egg Cream Invitational, food from local vendors, history lessons, and an egg cream workshop. Notable New York director and actor Benny Safdie will judge the contest." - Nadia Chaudhury
"Industry City is a collection of historical warehouses located on the waterfront of Sunset Park. Creating a vibrant community of companies and workers across various industries, Industry City is pushing boundaries for Sunset Park. They offer open studio sessions where their artists, makers, and manufacturers open their doors to the public and people are able to see and learn what happens inside. One of the features of Industry City that is most exiting for the public is the food hall. Almost like a Brooklyn "Chelsea Market," the food hall includes a handful of Brooklyn's most innovative and up-and-coming food vendors, where you can dine in and even see production on site. Some of these include: Blue Marble Ice Cream, Colson Patisserie, Ninja Bubble Tea, and One Girl Cookies amoung others! The food hall is adjacent to a courtyard with picnic tables and chairs, string lights, and greenery, creating the perfect setting to enjoy your meal! The courtyard is also home to an outdoor event called Mister Sunday, which features music, a dance floor, food vendors and locally brewed beers. Mister Sunday runs every Sunday in the summertime and also welcomes dogs and children." - Amanda DeRosa & Alexandra Marino
"This stretch of waterfront has been a hub of Brooklyn manufacturing since Irving T. Bush first developed his family's rail-marine terminal (then called Bush Terminal) in the mid-1890s to add warehouse structures. The sprawling campus that stands today in the quiet Sunset Park neighborhood is Industry City, the ripe and succulent fruit of decades' worth of redevelopment efforts. The idea here is one-stop shopping: Pick up a coffee from one proprieter and sip it while flitting through the Makers’ Guild’s wonderful artisan shops. There's also a slate of full-service restaurants and outdoor spaces—manicured lawns on-par with what you'd expect from those in a private, luxury apartment building." - Charlie Hobbs, Alex Erdekian, Melissa Liebling-Goldberg
"Brendan Kelley and Dan Grossman, two chefs who have worked in the kitchens of Roberta’s, Gage and Tollner, and other popular restaurants, will open a place of their own next year. Confidant, in Industry City, will serve wood-fired New American food. It’s the first full-service restaurant with its own space at the Sunset Park development, a publicist says." - Luke Fortney
"Industry City has ushered in a new era for Sunset Park. There are nearly two dozen food vendors in the sprawling space, with vendors at every turn. Find vegan food at Renegades of Sunset, Jamaican bites at Reggae Town Cafe, and options ranging from ramen to sushi at the Japan Village supermarket." - Eater Staff
