What to Eat at the New Williamsburg Market | Eater NY

"I thought the smash burger ($9) ranked among the city’s better versions: a brisket-and-short-rib blend is seared so aggressively that part of the patty becomes a soft, flavorful crust, American cheese is added at the perfect moment to half-melt, and caramelized onion and a puffy potato bun finish the build; the shoestring fries ($4.25) are solid as well." - Robert Sietsema

Yelp
It's a little tough to tell what Ink Paper Plate is, from the door. Is it a studio? A workshop? A gallery? An art supply store? It's all of the above! The owner is a gifted printmaker and teacher. One can take classes (which we intend to do). Her prints are incredible, and if we weren't living full-time in a camper ( no walls) we would have purchased one. We had a great visit here, and look forward to visiting again when we have more time. If you are a creative, you'll be inspired. We were.

Yelp
I took a class today here and it was wonderful. This place is warm and supportive and well equipped. I would absolutely recommend that you visit to look at the fabulous prints for sale and if you are interested, take a class. Bonnie

Yelp
wonderful little workshop tucked in a charming city. I was struck by the creative bug one weekend and wanted to take a letterpress class. Surprisingly not many options in South Bay (at least that I could find) and ones in SF were all odd weekday hours so being the saint of the man he is, my partner in crime agreed to trek up to Point Reyes and make a day trip out of it. Process could not be easier to book (with incredible availability!) and Sirima (owner) was super communicative along the way (with email and text reminders leading up the class) The experience itself gives a whole new light to the labor of printing before technology. Sirima (also instructor!) was awesome - super knowledgeable and sprinkling in a bunch of history along with instruction and much to my husband's delight, the perfect combination of oversight and laissez faire. And bonus, we got come home with a bunch of customized greeting cards - totally unexpected and a wonderful way to remember a delightful experience. 10/10 recommend!

Yelp
Until Covid arrived I would visit Sirima's studio every year during the Thanksgiving weekend Open Studios. I have been following her art since I first saw her prints in Davenport and Santa Cruz where she lived many years ago. Sirima is a gifted artist and wonderful person. I have some of her art in my house and her creations make the world a better place. Visiting her studio will really help make your day a special one. She might be playing her guitar, her dog might greet you or perhaps she will be printing away !

Yelp
I have been popping into ink.paper.plate for many years now, and have always enjoyed the friendly vibe, neighborhood feel, creaky wood floors, and beautiful art. I finally got to take a private class, and it was really a spectacular experience. Sirima sent a Pinterest with ideas in advance, and was very helpful in thinking through what project would be a good challenge and fun too. Sirima is patient, knowledgeable, and provides artistic insight and ideas, but encourages you to try things on your own and experiment. We had so much fun on the project, and I can't wait to take another class. I couldn't have spent my day in a more enjoyable way. It should also be noted that Sirima is an extremely talented artist, and her works are for sale. I've been admiring her work for years, and can't wait to purchase one of her large works!

Yelp
You can sense the cool vibe just walking up to the enormous old doors... Inside is filled with tons of cool artwork on posters and linens and cards and whatever else, and you've got to be impressed by the old-school machinery that she works on. There's a really cool thing that looks like a tortilla press on steriods, but I think it actually has something to do with screenprinting instead... There's also art supplies, like blank journals and watercolors and pencils and that kind of stuff. Plus, cool comfy couches, lots of cool books, a couple guitars and ukulele's. There's community music events and classes, all sorts of stuff to get your creative juices going. And since it's at the end of town, it's a little less crowded by the weekend tourists. A great place to just sit and hang out and watch the town!

Yelp
Ink Paper Plate is an awesome studio! My parents were in town visiting for Thanksgiving and we did a private evening linocut class with the owner who is a great teacher and customized the session to our skills and personalities. Bonus points for being able to accommodate our motley crew's last minute holiday booking request too!! Great service and so responsive. We bought some wine and cheese from Cowgirl Creamery just down the block and spent a few hours carving and printing our designs. SO much fun and we love our new creations.

Yelp
A unique little gem in Point Reyes Station just about a 90 minute bucolic drive from San Francisco, amid all the oyster joints and other epicurean delights scattered throughout Marin. We took a half day class, which was the perfect activity after spending time in the car, printing up holiday cards on lino block thingamajigs. It was great fun carving up the lino and using the old school hand printing tools and presses. Such a great feeling to learn and make things by hand. The owner is very accommodating, patient and a marvelous teacher. Oh and she's got everything there for you, all we had to do was show up. The shop is really cool, very laid back atmosphere and the owner has done a tremendous job decorating and adding all the little rustic nouveau touches, very nor Cal coast. It's worth checking out even if you don't take a printing lesson, lots of art, prints, books, totes, towels and other stuff for sale. It made for a perfect day out in Marin. My girlfriend enjoyed the art printing lesson so much she bought some gift certificates for her parents and friends.

Yelp
What a lovely and peaceful space for letterpressing. We set up a 3 hour evening session to print some baby shower invites and Sirima had everything set to go when we got there and provided all the technical support we needed while printing. She had a perfect sense for when to help and when to stay in the background which made the experience very special. As an added bonus we really enjoyed listening to a songwriters workshop in the corner and watching Sirima create her amazing prints on another press. Great vibe - great place!!

Yelp
Had a great time working with Sirima. She is extremely knowledgeable and a good teacher. Loved making "scrappy little books". Will go back for more.
