Top Chef Michael Voltaggio Closes LA Restaurant After Just Eight Months - Eater LA

"Chef Michael Voltaggio has closed his La Cienega restaurant Ink.Well after just eight months. The restaurant was designed to be more approachable than Voltaggio’s earlier modernist hit Ink, but it has now been marked as permanently closed on its OpenTable page." - Farley Elliott

Delicious in the details. Superb simplistic cocktails, food and desert. Favorites were egg yolk gnocchi, charcoal potatoes, octopus, pastrami short rib, and apple dessert.

Amazing food with personable service. A few must try items - the street corn, the chicken thigh, the Hokkaido scallops and the Dungeness crab pasta. Came back twice in the same week. :)

The Chefs and crew here and putting out some high quality dishes. Chef Brittany has an excellent palette and is very creative. I will be back for the Burger!

Burrata dressed to look like a tomato. Dan Dan noodles made from cuttlefish. Black potatoes with fermented Chinese vinegar. Apple dessert. All of these are insanely good. Excellent food and great staff.

Absolutely awesome imaginative cuisine - No complaints. Reasonably priced for the quality of the food. Among the best restaurants I've been to.

The service was great. When each dish was brought out the staff did an excellent job of describing each one. The staff was very attentive. The Mexican chocolate dessert was delicious. The food itself was underwhelming. I had the beets, egg yolk gnocchi, and sea bass. My own personal preference led to the disappointment with the beets. There was too much horseradish for my taste. The egg yolk gnocchi was a neat concept but desperately needed salt. Extremely under seasoned. The bass was good, but nothing spectacular. I had the spiked vodka cocktail with dinner. So smooth, I had two. I wouldn't go back for the main food dishes, but I would definitely go back for the cocktail and dessert.

Food was absolutely fantastic. The experience was a little less-so. First, the server indicated that we had to place all our food order at the same time (we can't add more later), since they want to pair it and bring it out in stages. It felt a little restrictive, but ok. The food was super-quick coming out of the kitchen. i think our total time in the restaurant from the time we sat down to completed eating was 45minutes (for a party of 4). From an efficiency perspective it was nice, but we would have preferred a slower paced meal that would have allowed us to enjoy the experience. Once everything we ordered came, we didn't feel we could order more so we left. There were many vegetarian options to chose from.

Seriously the best restaurant I have ever been at. The staff was very(!) friendly. Delicious and creative food. Never tasted anything like it before and I'm afraid I never will again. I recommend: Mozzarella dressed as a tomato Egg yolk gnocchi Calamari cooked in their own ink The dessert "mexican chocolate" looks great and tastes even better.
