Seattle's Best Pop-Ups Of 2020 - Seattle - The Infatuation

"It’s an all-too-familiar argument—one person prefers crispy cookies and the other is more into gooey centers. We’d like everyone to please stop fighting and grab dessert from My Friend’s Cookies. These giant treats roughly the size of UFOs have delicately crisp edges, doughy middles, and are loaded with excellent topping combinations - from peanut butter with shards of chocolate and pretzels to a corn cookie topped with sticky marshmallow and Oops! All Berries cereal. The balance of sugar, salt, softness, and crunch is wonderful, and you’ll want to grab extra to stash in your freezer. You can find My Friend’s Cookies at Watson’s Counter in Ballard, and sometimes as the dessert option at Chachi’s Pizza." - carlo mantuano, aimee rizzo

Insomnia Cookies is a dream come true for anyone with a sweet tooth! The cookies are warm, soft, and absolutely delicious — especially the classic Chocolate Chip and the gooey Deluxe options. You can really taste the quality. What really sets them apart is the late-night delivery. Getting fresh, warm cookies delivered to your door at midnight? Yes, please. The staff is always friendly, and orders are usually fast and accurate. Whether you're treating yourself or surprising a friend, Insomnia Cookies never misses. Highly recommended!

Only if you're high or completely drunk would you spend $3-5 on one of these cookies. It's a genius business model to be located near a college. We tried three different flavors and they were nothing exceptional. The caramel cookie was so oily it was gross. And undercooked. If it's between buying these cookies and just going up the street to QFC and getting a toll house refrigerated cookies that you can heat up at your house. Definitely take the toll house.

We’ve been here a few times. The cookies are good, but consistency could use some improvement. Sometimes they are overbaked, while other times they’re just right. We would come back.

Would give zero stars if I could. Ordered some cookies for delivery at 5:40, website/text said it was on its way for delivery a few minutes later. Cookies didn’t arrive until close to 7:10, almost an hour and half later. It’s not like they had to go very far, I live in Ballard (only a few miles away). If I knew it was gonna take so long, I would have driven to go get them myself. Also the cookies arrived cold, not even close to warm (since it was in someone’s car for almost 1 1/2 hours). On top of all of that, half of our cookies were tiny, and definitely not worth several dollars each. Over all, 0 out of 10. Do not get delivery from them unless you feel like waiting around forever for cold, tiny cookies.

New store right by the Standard apartments. Solid selection and cookies were good. The M&Ms and Smores were our favorites out of all the ones we had.

Open late night. The cookies are usually fresh and tasty. The ice cream choices could've been better though for making ice cream sandwiches.

Too expensive for the size and quality of the cookies. These cookies are super small, worth $3 max. Brownie was pretty bland. You're better off going to a local chain like Midnight Cookie or Hello Robin. Cheaper and better quality. Ice cream was good though.

I absolutely love making a late night drive to get some cookies, and the cookies are absolutely worth the drive. Only downfall is how small the room is, my claustrophobia always comes out if there are too many people in there. Yet I would stand outside just for some of their cookies.

Yelp
At long last I got some Insomnia Cookies after hearing about them after a considerable time. I mean, they weren't bad at all. Even enjoyable. We had the chocolate mint, chocolate chip, white macadamia nut cookies and they were fine. But they weren't something that was a life changing experience or all that memorable either. All in all it was an average experience and one that I will be prone to forgetting. I will say the buzz I saw online was overhyped at best. Some high end grocery stores make better cookies or small, independently owned bakeries can make some fantastic cookies and are all things that would fit nicely into the memorable category for me at least. And while I cannot nail down anything specifically wrong with the cookies and they fit the bill well enough for a few desserts it just wasn't something I would go out of my way very often to obtain.

Yelp
Another major cookie chain has moved into the greater Seattle area, welcome Insomnia Cookies to the University District. Opened yesterday to hopefully great fanfare. Me - totally spaced and didn't attend. However, I scored free parking around the corner and just a minimal line instead on Sunday evening (9/29/24). Smelled great! Decent counter service. Nice selection of cookies available. I selected a Deluxe box of 4: Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, S'mores, Confetti, and Triple Chocolate (w/tax under $22). This comes in a lined sturdy pizza style box, which is good since this soils through. Note to self if transporting on someone's lap or car seat. Cookies were still melty warm driving back north. Fresh, sizeable, obviously shareable cookies. Great location and hours for the immediate demographic of university students. A wee bit too sweet and greasy for me. Good foil with strong coffee, ice cream, or cold glass of milk to cut the richness. But these cookies are a convenient indulgence nevertheless. I grew up on bake sale cookies, Chip Ahoy, Oreos, Famous Amos, and Mrs Fields. College dorm cookie runs were usually from Arnold's back in day. Later it was sharing Cow Chip Cookies. Now there's also another chain like like Crumbl. But I tend to favor and gravitate towards scratch baked cookies from many local indie bakeshops, cafes, and cookie centric spots like Hello Robin, Midnight Cookie, Bell's, Lowrider, Cookies with Tiffany, and Baked. Glad to try well established chain, Insomnia Cookie. But I'll stick with the local indies or home baked.

Yelp
I bought 3 cookies peach cobbler stuffed and the apple pie and one peanut butter cup cookie. I paid $26 plus tip. The cookies were good a tad bit small compared with competitors but idk. Might be your thing. I probably won't make the trip again unless I see something more yummy looking

Yelp
Service was good, we got there and it wasn't too busy. The cookies were good as well, it was sad that they didn't have a seasonal ones advertised on the website. But overall it was a good experience! 8.5/10

Yelp
I went here during their opening day from Seattle Foodie's recommendation and oh man I was just happy to get something on the first day! It's a very small late-night cookie joint and I heard this was their 300th location. They have a ton of cookies on the spot to get inside or you can have the cookies delivered to you. Since this is a first-day review, I'm sure some things will change after this. Service was in general very prompt and quick, and the cashier double-checked my order just in case, and was able to add some other cookies I wanted on the fly. Prices are $2.95 for classic, smaller Cookes each or $4.95 for deluxe, larger cookies. You can also get boxed sets of these cookies in 4 and 6-packs. I got the 4-pack deluxe set with salted caramel (the HIGHLY recommended flavor), smores, confetti and triple chocolate flavors. This also came with a free classic cookie with M&Ms and I also got one of their limited bewitched blueberry swirl classic. I will say, these cookies are a lot sweeter than I had imagined they would be, especially the confetti deluxe which was also way softer than expected. Otherwise, every other cookie was pretty decent. The salted caramel definitely stole the show on this one, as it wasn't as sweet as the rest and had a strong caramel taste. The blueberry swirl cookie was another unique taste that was also a relief from the overbearing sweetness from the others. This looks like a great place to satisfy your late-night sweet cravings if you have a sweet tooth! It's somewhat far from me, pretty pricey for each one definitely too sweet (like Costco cookies) but I do wanna come back for their other flavors when I'm around the area. In general though I would stick with other places and especially home-baked cookies.

Yelp
For a cozy Friday night dessert when cooking isn't on the agenda, this spot is a good choice! My husband's already got his glass of milk waiting. The cookies usually arrive warm, which is a treat, though freshness can be a bit hit or miss.

Yelp
WA locations at WSU, Western, Gonzaga, and now UW. Hmmm, I wonder who their target audience is? :) Caught the light rail to U District Station with some friends. The shop was only a block away. Was greeted by friendly folks at the counter. It was pretty busy. I ordered the s'mores deluxe. We ate our cookies outside. It was pretty good. This shop is just like the other national cookie chains like Crave and Crumbl.

Yelp
The cookies were average, the icecream was very one dimensional. I wouldn't try it again. I'd rather have a good cookie or a good icecream scoop. Not a

Yelp
The only reason they got one star is because the order was actually correct.. the cookies are small compared to bakery style cookies.. they are not soft. They are underbaked. There's a difference.. all the cookies taste the same flavor. The macadamia nut cookies didn't have macadamia nuts in them.. the Blondie was crusty on top in the middle and a little burnt on the bottom. Literally, the grocery store has better cookies and brownies than this place.. cookies are my thing I try every cookie location I can find and I'm so sad about this ..but this experience was disappointing. And greasy EVERYTHING WAS GREASY

Yelp
I came here on a Friday afternoon and there was no line! The store smelled really good and so many options to choose from. We went with the chocolate chunk brookie (brownie cookie). This was so good and really hit my dessert craving. It was warm and the chocolate was a bit melted. The cookie part was crispy and the brownie was soft and they work so well together. Can't wait to come back and try the other goodies they have!

Yelp
Like a crumble cookie with more options. Definitely something to try when you are wanting dessert.
