InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile, an IHG Hotel

Beautiful building, amazing king suite with two bathrooms! Room was a great size, temperature was super easy to control. Elevators worked quickly (you need your card to go to a visitor floor). While we didn’t swim, the pool was beautiful.||Check in staff was super friendly and, due to my status with IGH, we were able to get into our room about 4 hours early!||Walking distance to many amazing restaurants, a full-service Starbucks is attached to the hotel and my favorite Stan’s Donuts was a quick 5 minute walk away!||Valet was easy to use, car was delivered within 10 minutes. ||Would we return? Absolutely!

The staff was friendly and helpful checking in and out and the room was spacious and had a great view! While waiting for my Lyft to the airport, they even stopped to offer me water. Exceptional staff. Also, the decorations were gorgeous and provided a wonderful entrance to the hotel. Great stay!

This hotel is conveniently located off Michigan Avenue. The rooms are very clean, modern and well kept. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. We arrived hours before check in and we're able to check our bags right away. We were notified by text when we could get into the room, and this was hours early.

This hotel is in the right spot on the Magnificent Mile (Michigan Ave). Plenty of shopping across the street, restaurants, and very close to the river where you can take a boat tour. Excellent service from the entire staff. Hands up or down, a top notch place to stay. The room was good. I just didn't care for the small bathroom and the semi open shower. Other than that you can't go wrong coming here. Will check you guys out on the next trip.

We did a staycation at the InterContinental for my niece's birthday and had the best time. The service was incredible, the rooms were spacious and very clean and the pool was so nice. They had movie nights for the kids at the pool with popcorn which was a really nice touch. Location is ideal for shopping and kid friendly restaurants. We will for sure come back!

Really wonderful hotel. Came to visit a friend and the rooms were sparkling and the beds were soft. I hung out waiting for my friend and the staff were helpful in finding a great place to work while I waited. The location is close to some wonderful restaurants and bars.

Our group hosted an event at the hotel for the annual AAO meeting. Meredith was a pleasure to work with with coordinating the event from out of state. She provided recommendations that were well received by our guests. She stayed in communication with me throughout the process so we were able to be on the same page with everything. The day of our event was superb. The staff at our event were absolutely lovely. The food and drinks were delicious and our guests had a wonderful time. The event space was clean and the perfect size for our group. Thank you for everything!

An iconic location and perfectly average higher end chain hotel. It is busy, with multiple levels dedicated to business and conferences. This makes for a fairly buzzy reception area during weekdays. Didn't try the spa or fitness facilities. Front desk service was excellent when I suspected some bed bug bites, with good followup from management (and nothing found when inspected by specialists). Would not recommend this hotel for leisure travellers as it was pretty expensive, for fairly average rooms, and there are better options in the downtown area.

I have stayed here before, so I knew reserving this hotel would put me in a prime location to all the shopping and restaurants. It's in the heart of downtown and sits right on the Magnificent Mile. I love the entryway; it's a grand entrance with gold turnstile doors and stairs that twist and turn, leading to the second floor. The lobby offers plenty of seating to relax, and there's a Starbucks inside the lobby if you want to grab a cup of coffee. There are also more restaurants inside this hotel. The rooms are just as gorgeous and very spacious. The bathrooms are huge, and a big plus is that the bathroom has plenty of lighting. I wish I had taken pictures of the pool area because it's gorgeous. However, since it was fall, I forgot to go. I will say this: It's a gorgeous hotel that shouldn't be missed if you want a luxurious stay in the heart of Chicago.

Pretty shocked at how dated this hotel is...and how much they charge for parking. BEWARE...$85/night...and no break for IHG Elite (I'm a Diamond and it meant nothing). Also arrived to a room that had not been properly stocked...no toilet paper and we needed sheets for the pull-out sofa. Stayed in a a Suite and the furnishings look like they need to go back to 1978. Couch is a deep felt blue...the whole room looks very dark and sterile...the odd Doric pillar coffee tables are just strange. I've been in MUCH nicer Intercontinental properties...and I'm surprised they let this one get to this point on Chicago Magnificent Mile. I would save the money and stay at a Holiday Inn...not much of a step up to their flagship brand unfortunately.

This property acts like a scammer... won't let you cancel no matter what your reservation says. They also won't let you file a negative review. Stay at Marriott, they treat frequent guests w respect.

The first room I had was not great shower didn't work phone didn't work but I let the front desk know and they moved me in 30 mins to a new room. Next room was great! Comfortable bed good clean room. I ate some chips $12 for a small thing but that's what I get. Room service was good tasty breakfast lots of food. Overall good place.

This was a very nice hotel. They're a part of the IHG family of hotels now, so my fiancé and I used points to stay here this weekend when in town for a friend's wedding; I think it was about 120,000 points for two nights, aka about $300-350 cash. We booked a regular king room, but my fiancé has IHG Platinum status since he has their credit card, and I am pretty sure they upgraded us - we ended up with a junior or 1BR suite (bedroom was separate from the rest of the room), and it had a kitchen sitting area plus a living room sitting area, and was pretty nice. We didn't bring our bathing suits but we did go look at the pool - in the 1920s, the building was an Athletic Club, and the pool is a holdover from that, and was very cool to see. The only complaint I have is that I wish there were more chargers near the bed - there was a wall charger, but I had to move the nightstand over a bit so my phone could sit on it. Otherwise, very nice hotel (and super comfortable bed!) so I would definitely stay here another time. (Edit: originally I was giving this hotel five stars, unfortunately I have to dock them a star because of checkout today. We used IHG points to book this hotel, as a rewards stay, but they still charged us $60 for two nights' resort fee {$30/night}. That was never communicated to us by IHG ahead of time. I've already contacted IHG about it and if they waive it, I will change this back to five stars.)

Great location within walking distance to dining, shopping, and tourist attractions. The staff was really friendly and helpful, and we were able to check in early based on availability. The room was comfortable and clean. The shampoo/hand wash smelled great. The pool looks like it was made when art deco style was popular. It's not the best design for kids because it gets pretty deep, but if you're swimming laps, it's great. The gym has an array of cardio and weightlifting equipment. There is a Starbucks and a steakhouse on site for dining convenience. The seating area was a nice little nook. Overall, everything in the hotel was great and upscale. There are a lot of sirens at night, but that's just Chicago nightlife for you. I would definitely recommend this hotel for the luxury and the location.

The Intercontinental Hotel in Chicago offers a nice stay with its elegant decor and top-notch amenities. I love it here during Christmas time since they decorate so nicely! The staff are exceptionally professional and helpful, making sure all needs are met. Rooms are spacious and well-maintained, providing a comfortable space in the heart of the city. While the location is fantastic, the prices can be a bit steep, and parking options are limited. Overall, it's a great choice for a refined and enjoyable stay in Chicago.

Centrally located, modern/updated rooms with comfy beds. 2 fridges in the room; 1 empty and the other with standard drink options for purchase. Service is quick and efficient, however not always the friendliest. Water pressure is meh, however bathroom lighting is good. This is considered a luxury hotel so it is pricey.

Will greeted us immediately to take our car. Fredy upgraded our room because we were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and allowed us to check in early immediately. He seemed so happy for us. We then had a couples massage. The massages were average but the therapists were very friendly. The stairs up to the room need to be upgraded. The locker rooms were clean and nice. The pool was big and refreshing. The next day we wanted to go to Chinatown so they made arrangements for us to check out later. The prices for the room were reasonable. We will definitely stay there again.

I recently stayed at the Intercontinental Chicago Magnificent Mile over the course of a week for work and I was very pleased with my experience. It all started at check-in. I arrived in Chicago well ahead of check in time but I needed to drop by the hotel first regardless to store my bags. To my surprise, a room was ready and I was tapping into it in no time flat. Just after, an employee at the reception desk went above and beyond when I needed to work through a credit card authorization with my employer. He made the whole process smooth and immediately eased my anxiety about the whole process. For this I am grateful. The room itself was a 2 double classic grand tower room which was quite spacious, very clean, and modern. Aside from the very comfortable bed, I also enjoyed the large light up mirror, flat screen television, black out curtain, and mini fridge. I was only on the 4th floor so there was a bit of street noise but I was able to sleep through the night after the first night or two. The bathroom was a dream with a large shower and plenty of counter space. Free water and coffee pods were a nice addition. The main lobby is striking and has an adjacent Starbucks that I visited most mornings. I took a dip in the pool, an impressive junior Olympic size venue, built in the 1920's. The architecture and charm that remains led me to simply relax and take it all on. You can certainly see it's history as a preeminent athletic club in the city. Three-level fitness center. Complimentary wi-fi. Very convenient location on the Magnificent Mile. Within walking distance to many of the city's famous sites. Will definitely stay at this hotel again if there is occasion to in the future.

The InterContinental is a nice hotel in a very good and convenient location for Chicago. The rooms are very clean and decently sized for a downtown hotel room. The service is all very friendly and the prices were reasonable when I visited in early November. The beds are quite comfortable, and the noise level was good at least for the higher level that I stayed in. The view from my room was basically just another part of the building so nothing to look at it. The in room bar was also outrageously expensive - $14 for M&M's so plan ahead. I heard the amenities such as pool and etc. were great, but I was on a work trip so did not have the chance to check them out. I would stay here again definitely.

This was a 2 night stay in August Location: Right on the Magnificent Mile in walking distances, to shops, Navy Pier, plenty of restaurants and the Riverwalk! Atmosphere: The lobby is welcoming with well-appointed seating areas. Exquisite lighting in the hallways adds to the ambiance. It's a very busy space with MJ Steakhouse connected to the entrance/lobby. Room: The room was a nice size with a comfortable king bed and large bathroom, that could probably use a little updating. Would be nice if IHG properties added at least a handheld bidet feature as an option to bathrooms. Service: Breakfast in the restaurant was a good experience with very attentive service. Front desk customer service was equally attentive and accommodating. Overall, nice stay and great location.

Always great place to stay. Rooms on executive floors in Grand Tower always clean, well stocked and quiet! They have renovated the rooms along with the amenities and toiletries. Their dining for breakfast and lunch is pretty good too even though there are many excellent places to eat very close by. It'll be interesting to see if they updated the menus too.

Just spent four days and three nights at this hotel and wanted to share my experience. The good: Location is great for downtown Chicago Mag mile. We stayed for Lallapalooza festival. Grant park was about a 20 minute walk. Less than a mile. Great if you're wanting to visit stores in Michigan Ave. Chicago PD had a high profile in the area and felt safe. The hotel has a beautiful lobby, on site Starbucks, and MJ Steakhouse. Check in was a breeze. The bad: The hotel is WAY overpriced. It's bid as a 4-5 star hotel. It was in the past but sadly isn't anymore. Valet parked car, but no offer of a doorman to help with luggage. Didn't tell us when we wanted to get the car we had to go to the basement. Elevators are poorly running. You'll wait a long while for a lift and often they are already full when they get to your floor. No service elevator for staff so they were taking up already short elevator space. A simple trip down to the lobby would include a 15-20 minute elevator wait each way. The ugly: As stated prices are crazy high. $10 for a small can of Pringle chips. When paying for items at the gift shop that totaled around $10 the clerk was upset I was paying in cash. No idea why. For three days of parking, can of Pringles, a drink at the bar and a burger totaled $574.00, in addition to the $1,700 room rate. That's $2,274 for a weekend trip in a simple double room. Nothing too special about the room. Beds were comfy. View was good. I've stayed at other hotels on the mag mile and for the price have had better service, better room and more things to do in the hotel.

I stayed there because walked in once and liked it. It is affordable, considering the location. I checked-in online, however, they couldn't find me and I had to show them my confirmation number. So not very smooth. Also, if you book the room on their website, they lock the cost of the room and the deposit about $100, which was not really expected. There's Starbucks, Michael Jordan's Steak House and a gift shop. The rooms are tiny, the bed and TV are huge. Also there is a dedicated work space, but again very small.

In a pinch and at the last minute, my husband and I found a decent-priced room at the Intercontinental last weekend. And I have no complaints about our experience. As mentioned, the price was good, and we could get a room for one night (many hotels and Airbnb have a two-night minimum). Check in was easy, and our room was clean, modern, with a view. I also appreciate that you could stream Netflix on their TVs. One thing to note: Parking is valet -- no self parking-- and $75 per night. But we were able to find a spot across the street for half that by using Spot Hero. I've always enjoyed staying at Intercontinental hotels, and I hope I get the chance to stay at this location again.

So I've stayed here twice. Both times were amazing and I can't wait to go back. In all honesty I am very hard on hotels and that is mostly because Covid made me weary is everything, but this hotel definitely rises to the occasion. It has the Michael Jordan restaurant inside the lobby so if you want to eat in you have options. The rooms are spacious and accommodating and provide a lot of natural light if you would like. You have views of Michigan ave but nothing beats the fact that you can walk right outside and be on Michigan Ave. We enjoyed being across the street from the Shops at North Bridge and if you don't want to park at the hotel there is plenty of parking. Our favorite part was the pool area in which you have such a huge pool and a lounge area and I do not think the pics do it justice. I am planning my next stay for the winter because I want to experience the indoor pool again. Highly recommend

After a night of excessive drinking, I found myself in this hotel. That one night turned into an entire weekend stay. Now I can't help but grin every time I pass by. It was memorable. To say the least Located on Michigan Ave, it's very conveniently located if you're a tourist. With a large Starbucks inside, its proximity to tons of mag mile shopping, well appointed rooms, comfortable beds/pillows, a beautiful lobby, and a nice pool, it's a pretty solid choice. My list of negatives are quite small. The rooms are nice but they're not on the same level as the Waldorf or the Ritz. The elevators are excessively slow and there's no doorman to help with bags or hail a cab. Certainly not reasons to deter staying here, but the reason I wouldn't say it's worth 5 stars.

Pros: Awesome location close to lots of restaurants and shops. Beds and pillows were comfy. Staff was very friendly. Food at MJ steakhouse was delicious. Pool is huge. Cons: Rooms are small, no table or chair. There are no vending machines and the snacks in the room are ridiculous ($14 for a little tin of peanut MMs??)

I've stayed at a few other InterContinental places so I kind of wanted to stay at this InterContinental in Chicago. I got into Chicago pretty late and the check-in process was pretty fast. I also got a small bag of Garret's popcorn. The room was small compared to other places I have stayed at. It was clean though and the water pressure was pretty strong. The workout area is a little bit small but the indoor pool was nice! I'm torn between this place but I think it was an average hotel stay. Just note the room is pretty small! There is a Starbucks downstairs. Also a Michael Jordan steak house. If you know you won't be in the room much then this is a pretty good spot. It is close to everything.

Gorgeous inside. I walked around the historic building to admire the gorgeous decor at each conference room. I normally do not stay at IHG group and wasn't expecting much at all considering I don't have any status with them. I had a minor issue with a housekeeping one night, it was so minor, I wasn't going to mention at all. When I was at the lobby waiting for my ride, a staff approached me and asked about my stay. When I mentioned a minor issue, they immediately offered some points to my newly opened IHG account. They didn't have to do it but the gesture was very nice.

Stayed here last weekend and wanted to just say that this was a decent place with ONE exception. The shower in my room had purposely no door so consequently water went everywhere. Thankfully, the room had enough extra towels stocked so I was able to wipe up all that water. Also, the blanket situation on the bed made is very thin so I asked for another blanket and received one of those thin waffle type "blankets" that served no purpose. Sadly, I had to crank the heat which I don't like doing but hey . . .everything else was cool.

Hotel is dated and doesn't live up to Intercontinental standards. "Executive Tower" needs a total renovation. Rooms are dated and not well maintained in terms of carpeting, bathroom cleanliness and modernness. Considering the many other options in the immediate area (where I've previously stayed), I would recommend instead staying at the: Loews, Fairmont, Langham, or Hyatt, well before this hotel.

Wonderful rooms, very clean. The bathroom was very spacious. The closet had enough hangers for all my needs (a rarity), and the mini bar area was very well stocked. The blinds were roller verses curtains or drapes so I actually had no light creeping in when I slept. The thermostat allowed for a nice temp drop unlike a lot of hotels, so I was able to sleep at a nice cool 67. The elevators were fast, the staff was lovely, and the Michael Jordan bar was good. The hotel is close to so many things and a lot of shops are walkable. I would absolutely stay here again.

Corporate travel agents and environmental conservators, look away. This hotel isn't fit for extended stays, or anything more than a weekend. The number of issues and inconveniences encountered by my coworkers and I over our 11 day stay boils down to poor management and corporate greed. The issues include multiple rooms having faulty heaters in the middle of winter, filthy 13+ month old air filters causing respiratory distress, leaky faucets wasting gallons of clean water a day, undercooked burgers at the Michael Jordan restaurant, numerous service charges (even for carry out at the restaurant), front desk agents giving false names over the phone and later claiming no one by that name works there, broken refrigerators in multiple rooms resulting in warm food that required disposal, power loss, and more. Billing issues also occurred including a coworker's debit card being charged $1500 instead of $100 for incidentals, and promised food and beverage credits not being applied to accounts until after concerns were raised. If I gave full explanations for all of the incidents at this property, someone would owe me a full-time salary. I'll spare us all but know that the management overall is far from efficient. Over the last 10 years, hospitality has really taken a hit but understandably so considering most in hospitality are not paid living wages. It's hard to be present, apply yourself, and serve others knowing you're barely getting by. Also, I called the hotel a week before my stay to ask about self-serve laundry options. I was told there were on-site self-serve laundry facilities I could use. When I arrived to the hotel, I found that not to be true. Laundromats are far and few in-between in this area. Good luck.

Stayed here for a conference and I had a king suite. I was pleased with how large my room was. However, my colleges in the standard double rooms told me they didn't even have a dresser in their rooms. My view was just of a rooftop but I really loved my room. It was so comfy and stylish. I liked the toiletries provided. I like the SmartTV capabilities. Housekeeping did an amazing job tidying up my room, they even straightened out my shoes in a corner! I wasn't really impressed by the fitness center. It's really convenient to have the Starbucks in the lobby. It's in a great location, you're able to walk to a bunch of different shops and restaurants. I definitely want to come back!

Enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Location is amazing - central to the sights and dining we had planned. Lobby was decorated warmly for the holidays with an adorable ski chalet sitting area. We stayed in the renovated grand towers that had a premier city view. Also ordered room service. Incredibly quick considering all the food ordered - 20min. I'm pretty sure they share kitchens with MJ's bc some of the food offerings carried over. Great service, rolled in a table and everything. Overall would stay again. Felt like a real classy hotel with updated amenities, very comfortable. My kids both wore the robes for the full experience. Only bummer was the Dive in Movie did not have inflatables. It was the deciding factor for my booking so was a letdown, especially for my 8yo. However, they did have lemonade and popcorn. Just make sure you get there at least an hour early bc all the seats were nearly taken when we got there only 30min early. I even tried to DoorDash two inflatables from the sporting goods store but they were sold out. Fortunately the hotel manager was very helpful and said we could come back later to use the pool once their inflatables got restocked. The things we do for our kiddos. Really nice having a real Starbucks adjoining the lobby and Michael Jordan's restaurant. So good.

Haven't left a Yelp review in ages. Avoid this hotel. Checked into a room with poo on the toilet seat and blood stain on the wall in bathroom. Looks like a Motel 6 with 9 layers of paint To be fair, the staff is very accommodating

I had a pleasant stay at the intercontinental Chicago. It's definitely the location for me. Rooms are spacious, bathrooms goodies are Byredo brand. They have an amazing indoor pool

Got the suite room with a wonderful view of the city and a peek at another window, of the waters. There's an added guest room with a desk, seating area, TV and bathroom. Nice and spacious and conveniently located. Walkable to many main shops and restaurants. Service was staffed well with bell boy and front desk lobby greeter. Had a comfortable stay!

This was a perfectly fine hotel, but with all the hype and prestige that surrounds it, it was a bit of a disappointment. The staff was absolutely wonderful. They were welcoming and helpful, although they didn't tell us we needed the key to use the elevator, so we felt a bit dumb for a few minutes. They helped quickly when we had an issue with our room, and we appreciated it very much. CVS also has a vending machine in the lobby for things you may have forgotten to pack. Our room was mediocre. I appreciate the bathtub, and the television was absolutely massive. But, not many channels. Our scenic view was of cinderblocks that had boarded up our windows. Not a very fun time for what we paid to stay there. The pool is gorgeous, and I understand why it's a focal point of the hotel. Plus, the lobby was lovely and decorated for Christmas with a big tree that was very festive. I didn't have a bad time, but there are better hotels to stay at for the price where you're not bricked into your high rise room.

Great service. Every person we encountered was friendly and helpful. Our room was always nicely clean when we got back from our adventures. But what made our whole experience amazing was the concierge Will. He had incredible recommendations. We felt like we knew him and he knew us. He made us feel like home. Our son talked about him all day everyday. He really is the jewel of the hotel

Pros- Friendly staff. Great location. Great ambiance and history. Cons- -Shower water in tower part of hotel ran yellow each day, same for others on other floors. -Massive roaches in two persons' rooms (we were at a conference). -No table or chair in tower room, just two beds; in case you wished to do some laptop work, your second bed was your table. -No bar soap and cleaning staff had not filled liquid bath soap, terrible timing on that. The jars are stuck to the shower wall so there was no way to know that they were nearing empty- very bad move on the part of the cleaning staff.

InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile, an IHG Hotel is a great place to stay in the middle of everything. Great experience every time I have been here with excellent customer service and everything that you need for the best stay possible.

The Intercontinental on the Magnificent Mile is a fascinating property. I won't bore you with it's long and storied history, but it's worth looking up if you're planning to stay here. I mean, it still has a blimp mooring on the roof of the original tower! But I digress. There's a LOT to like about this property, but it just doesn't quite live up to the standard of other Intercontinental properties I've been to. PROS: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! Two blocks from River Walk, a 15 minute walk to Navy Pier, right on North Michigan Ave. in the heart of everything. If you're a tourist in town, this is a fantastic base of operations. The pool. It's amazing. Again, just read the history of it. It's like stepping back in time in the best possible way. The attached gym is also well appointed and maintained. The Doorman: Kept the constant flow of vehicles picking up and dropping off moving safely & efficiently, had plenty of suggestions for local points of interest and eateries and bent over backwards to help guests. Meeting Rooms: This building is absolutely loaded with tons of interesting and beautiful meeting and event spaces. Seems like it would be a fantastic place to hold anything from a wedding to a business conference. Starbucks in the Lobby: Service was quick and efficient every morning. We used the app to order and it was ready for pick up when promised and correct every time. CONS: The room itself: Quite dated and showing some signs of significant wear and tear, at least in the Grand Tower. Despite being on the 18th floor, there was a significant amount of street noise (more so than typical hotels I've stayed in located in downtown urban locations). The HVAC system was also extremely loud, especially when the AC would cycle off. Woke the family up several times throughout the night. Housekeeping: Even upon checking in, the room didn't feel particularly well cleaned. We had scheduled every other day service, but housekeeping never showed up. Had to call down for towels and toilet paper (both were delivered in under 15 minutes). IHG Rewards Recognition: While I was greeted as a Platinum member and provided the 600 points amenity (the beverage option was not offered), the typical room upgrade I receive at other IHG properties was not honored despite the phone agent confirming that the property honors this amenity when I called to confirm the previous evening, the app confirmed that there were numerous rooms in the Executive Tower available upon check in for the duration of my stay and I asked directly and offered to wait if additional time was needed for housekeeping to clean. I wasn't about to make a big of it at the counter, particularly since they had my room ready before the published check in time, but it was certainly disappointing. All in all, this did serve as a fantastic base for our short visit in Chicago. It allowed us easy access to numerous popular tourist attractions which allowed us to easily maximize our time. Unfortunately, I went in with the expectation that this property would be on par with other Intercontinental hotels I have stayed at. While the pricing certainly did, the experience did not. If I were to return for another visit to Chicago, I would probably select a different property in the vicinity.

Loved their service. The room was very cozy and clean. The amenities were as expected for a hotel in this location. We especially enjoyed the lime/lemon-infused water that was available all day long. What a thirst quencher after a day of exploring the Chicago area. If you need suggestions on places to see or eat, check with the awesome attendants in the lobby.

Great hotel. Best pool of anywhere we've stayed according to our boys. Perfect location and customer service was awesome. Would stay here again when visiting Chicago! Beds a little small for the large room size but we managed!

Great hotel it was nice and clean... the Rooms are a little outdated style wise but the bathroom is very nice. overall my experience was great and the staff are very helpful and kind. I would definitely recommend this hotel

Highly recccomended if you're visiting Chicago! My husband and I stayed here after thoroughly reviewing many hotels around the magnificent mile Chicago area . I am so happy we landed this place. Location is perfect. Directly by a ton of shops and many many eateries ! My husband and I walked about a half mile to visit the Bean and then poped in and out of multiple stores and bars . The vibe is beautiful with a great nightlife around every corner . Nordstroms, Sugar Facroey , Ice Cream museum ... everything is within a walks away. My husband and I booked a couples massage at the hotel and while it did seem super unorganized from where to go or who to talk to, we did indeed end up enjoying the actual massage. We did not get to eat at the Michael Jordan Steakhouse as we wanted to be out of the hotel while we dined , however it always looked packed and many raved about the food.

Enjoyed a mostly positive three night stay here for a basic room on the 37th floor using IHG points. I appreciated the welcome at check-in for being Platinum Elite and generous free drink vouchers for MJ's restaurant (thank you Malcolm). The room itself was very clean but on the small side and 1980's dated. There was surprisingly plenty of street noise to be heard during our stay there. I can't speak for the amenities (large historic pool, fitness center) because I didn't partake in them. The location, just north of the river and adjacent to the Wrigley building was pretty convenient. Walking distance to River North and Loop areas around Millennium Park. Less convenient in taking the L, we had to bus or walk about a 1/2 mile south to catch the train. Overall, I would imagine this hotel to be catered to business, convention and out of town clientele. Definitely an old-ish vibe but understandable given this hotel was built in the 1920's. Tbh if I wasn't using points, I probably wouldn't stay here again given the lofty price of rooms at this hotel. But overall, an interesting and historic part of the IHG hotel lineup.

Its pretty hard to find a perfect place to sleep besides your own bed but this location gave it a huge run for the money. From the minute we arrived, which was way earlier than check-in time, the staff was amazing. We were allowed to check in early. We walked into our room and it was an instant feeling of comfort. We had an amazing view of the city and the room itself was very spacious. We truly enjoyed spending time at the Michael Jordan restaurant downstairs. Francisco (bartender) was our fave and if you visit, try the Jumpman. Now, the pool. BEAUTIFUL. So large, warm and relaxing. Honestly, I booked this hotel because of the pics I had seen and they were true to form. One of the best indoor pools I have ever seen. Breakfast here was also surprisingly good. Most hotels don't have the best but we really enjoyed our meals here. When a place has good coffee, its place I will revisit. This will definitely be our go-to when we visit Chicago again.

Thé location is superb! All of the restaurants and local attraction are walking distance from the Hotel The service is amazing from the check in to the housekeeping and the valet too. The suite in the grand tower are renovated with beautiful furniture and marble bathroom The restaurant M.Jordan is a must, the food is super fresh and tasty. The pool is outstanding and the gym too Do not miss this Hotel in this beautiful City. A GEM

After reading all of the reviews, I was looking forward to my stay at the hotel. The lobby is beautiful and the staff is friendly. What let me down was the room. It is quite possible some rooms are more renovated than others but it was an overall horrible experience. First, I was on the 24th floor and the street noise was terrible. Between the normal traffic and the periodic sirens, the room was definitely not quiet. Then again, internally, the hotel's bathroom ventilation system was so noisy. Instead of having a fan that can be turned on and off, it is constantly sucking air out and is rather loud and ineffective. As shown in the picture, after running the hot water in the shower for a few minutes, the ceiling was filled with water droplets that then continued to fall on the floor for hours. This explains the marks on the ceiling (which one employee told me that they need to paint the bathroom ceilings at least once a year) and the mold that was in the shower. Speaking of showers, it was disappointing. It was so small that I kept hitting the door and at one point, I turned off the water to open the door so I could put soap on my legs. I could go on like some of the outlets didn't work so we had an extension cord brought in so I could work at the desk but why bother going into all the details. ... I should note that they did offer to move me to another room, but then they didn't have a room to move into. The management was rather sympathetic, which only goes to support the treatment by the staff. The location and staffing are great. But I think I will pass on this hotel the next time I'm in town.
