It's the kind of place that feels and looks like you want it just down the block from home, so you could drop in any time. Service is delightful, the atmosphere is homey. And there's a great wine list to choose from, both by bottle and glass. But given how touted this place is for its food, I found it a let down. Two dishes of shellfish were overcooked and rubbery, and two of four large prawns hadn't had their "poop chutes" removed. Being an open kitchen, it's a bit disconcerting to watch as two of four cooks did all the work, while the two, apparently senior, folk, did nothing but stand in a corner joking around. I never once saw any of the four taste the food they were preparing - it all seemed to be by rote, with no real care paid.
