The 14 Best Breweries in Broward County

"Creativity abounds at this quaint Flagler Village operation. It specializes in wild sours, juicy IPAs, and complex stouts, with taxidermy equally as pizzazz-y donning its walls. Pro tip: If you’re a regular, consider joining its private mug club, which includes an engraved mug kept at the bar, $1 off all drafts all the time, and early access to new bottle releases." - Jesse Scott

Where to Dine and Drink in Fort Lauderdale’s Flagler Village

"Dimly lit and with forms of taxidermy galore donning its walls, this intimate brewery has a total vibe. Its house-made brews are equally as so, with some of the most creative, sour, stout, and juicy IPA inventions you’ll find anywhere. When hunger beckons, Billy’s Curbside Kitchen and Tight Lines Food Shack are often parked out front. Billy’s has one of the best quesadillas in town, with a delightful crisp, cheese-dashed exterior." - Jesse Scott

The 8 Best Bars In Fort Lauderdale

"Speaking of excellent places to drink beer in Fort Lauderdale: Invasive Species. The brewery is within walking distance of Laser Wolf, and we like it for all the same reasons. The beer is great, the crowd is pretty chill, and you can drink inside or on their back patio. The brewery’s name is an ode to the many invasive species of South Florida (excluding midwestern college students on spring break, who you probably won’t find here). Many of those invasive critters decorate the space in various taxidermied poses. " - ryan pfeffer

Google
Got the Gatorgrog, did not disappoint. So happy they now have more then beer as my hubby is the craft beer drinker but not me. Really enjoyed the atmosphere as always. Great place to hang and enjoy company.

Google
Great selection of beer but the IPAs rule, particularly The Fuzz. It's freezing in there, so bundle up but they have a bangin' old-school sound system.

Scouser1965

Google
A little off the beaten track but definitely worth the visit. We sat at the nice long bar although they have plenty of high top tables to relax at also. Service was excellent and also patient with us first time visitors trying to decide on the right beer choice. The music choice was different but in a good way and a mix of some old songs that we all know but don’t usually hear anymore.

Google
The best beer EVER. I was staying downtown FT Lauderdale the night before my cruise and it was well worth the short walk to Flagler Village and Invasive Species Brewing. I’m a well experienced craft beer drinker with a fairly refined palette. This is the best of best, especially if you are a fan of Havy IPA like me. They had so many great ones I couldn’t choose a favorite. Yes, it was THAT good! I don’t usually do Sours, but I also had a raspberry and apricot, that was out of this world! Great atmosphere and the evening I spent there was the highlight of my 12/2024 10 day vacation! I’ll be back.

Google
Good selection of beer and fun decor. Great area and a very good food cart on site.

Google
I had a great time at Invasive. The bar staff were all on point, super friendly and knowledgeable. They had a wide range of delicious beers at a decent price point and they also have rotating food trucks on hand to keep you full. Ten out of ten also goes to the ridiculous taxidermy on display across the space. Will definitely return if I'm ever back in Fort Lauderdale.

Google
Been coming here since 2021, and it's always been fantastic. Beer is great with plenty of IPAs on tap, plus great sours and stouts. Staff is friendly, service is great, beer is awesome. Highly recommend!

Google
My top brewery in South Florida; always good food trucks too. Fantastic core lineup and always has something new. My favorite beer here, G.M.O. was one of the most unique and delicious beers I’ve had. PLEASE bring it back! 🙏🏼

Yelp
Brewery hoppin' FLL and had to try this place. Scale: 1-5 Beer: 5 - had a flight with 3 hazy IPA and a dark lager to start with. The hazy IPA's were delicious and crushable. Very smooth and the only reason I left the brewery was to try another place. I should have stayed. Atmosphere: 5 - Relaxed vibe with cool decor. Lots of mounted animals. Good group of people there too. The taxidermy probably scares away PETA weirdos. Service: 5 - quick even though they were very busy. Food: truck but didn't try Cultural/Political Agenda (1-5): 5 -No preachy nonsense--just beer, as it should be.

Yelp
Beer: I visited this place again, and they had a new sour (Dole Whip). I loved it, it's absolutely delicious! I highly recommend trying it. In fact, I bought some to take home. Service: The staff is always very friendly, and they offer samples in case you're unsure about what to try. Ambiance: I love the atmosphere and the music they play. I went two days in a row to enjoy the same beer. Definitely my favorite brewery!

Yelp
Everything about this place rules. The spot was really unassuming outside but inside's vibe was spectacular. The beers were phenomenal. The yacht club was crisp and delicious. The guava pastelito was so freaking good too. You have to go to this place if beer is your thing. They have cocktails too but I didn't try and of that. More of a reason to come back!

Yelp
My previous review has not changed just as good as ever, but now they are distilling spirits, Bourbon, vodka and rum. I tried their 99proof high rye bourbon and it was so good I took a bottle home with me. Ashley our beertender was as cordial as ever and is very knowledgeable about their brews. The funky vibe is still the same and they continue to be my favorite brewery in the area.

Yelp
Best brewery in Fort Lauderdale.. huge range of styles from lager to ale to IPA to stouts and Sours.. there isn't a style of beer they don't carry. The bartenders are so awesome too.. super friendly. They have indoor and outdoor seating and a food truck on site every day. If your anywhere East of I-95!- want a real brewery experience!! Check them out !! So worth it you won't regret it... Oh and really fairly priced as well!! Way cheaper than many other breweries around and 10 times better than the rest. Not hating on the other ones but this one is the best in Downtown Fort Lauderdale HANDS DOWN!!
google avatar

Kendra W.

Yelp
It's still my favorite brewery! I love the variety of beers on tap, the staff, and the overall vibe. Check out their social media accounts for events, specials, and food truck status. If you don't care for ordinary beer, this is your place. The staff is top rate!

Yelp
I am shocked I never visited Invasive Species before!! Nestled inside the heart of Flagler Village, this brewery is an expansive spot always brewing up a ton of local brews. Once inside, you can see the various decor which this time I visited included a bunch of holiday decor. But normally, it just displays a bunch of "invasive" species animals skulls and so many containers of beer being brewed inside. There is a super long bar as well as a bunch of tables. When visiting on a Saturday night, they had a live band playing which was a a nice touch. When walking through the entire bar, I had no idea they have a covered outdoor patio in the back, which is a much quieter experience to the brewery if that is something you prefer. I was shocked at how many different beers were brewed on the menu. They all consisted of great unique names, and so many different beers consistencies. I prefer pale ales, lagers and pilsners and I did exactly that and ordered the Country Club which is a Czech Pilsner. It had a great consistent flavor and ordered a second while enjoying the live music for a couple hours. I definitely look forward to coming back again at some point in the future when in the Flagler Village area.

Yelp
I've had this place flagged in my places I want to go on Google maps for a long time. We stopped in while visiting my mother in law in the area. I had the Siam Wheat and the Yacht Club. My husband had the Schwarzbier. Great beer, great decor, great service. I wish we were able to bring some cans back to NY with us.
google avatar

Yelp
What a cool and unique selection of IPAs! I can't believe I hadn't been here sooner. I especially loved the disco IPA and the guava IPA which was like drinking a liquid guava pastry! Very chill and laid back spot and they have several beers that you're able to take home which is a plus! Service is quick especially at the bar and they offer some recommendations if you need. The outdoor patio is good for kids and families.

Yelp
I went back to Invasive Species this past weekend...I tried their new sour! DoleWhip( pineapple ice cream sour) it was phenomenal...it was so good that I bought 12 of these beers to go! The staff made us feel like at home. Ambiance was great as always! Please give it a try if you are near Ft Lauderdale!!

Yelp
Greeeeaaaatttt beeeeerrssss! Super awesome local brewery with a wide selection of beers! I promise you will be able to find a beer in here that you will like. I was even able to encourage my gf to start liking beer with the help of Invasive Species Brewery, hehe Bartenders are super chill which makes the whole experience even better! Great place with a super cool atmosphere! Food is awesome too as they are inviting different local food trucks!

Gary S.

Yelp
Only been a few times but I really love their beer. Great variety of IPAs as well as some unusual beers that they dream up themselves.
google avatar

Stefanie R.

Yelp
Invasive Species is a small establishment, but it packs a big punch when it comes to their beer! I myself am a fan of sours, and they always have a great selection to choose from. This time around, I had their guava pastelito pastry sour beer and was not disappointed. Imagine a timba, the Cuban snack that consists of guava paste, on top of cream cheese, stacked on top of a Maria cookie (similar to a graham cracker), but in beer form. Delicious! They also have an experimental beer section of their menu that offers some unique flavor profiles for those with an adventurous palate. Service was fast, despite a packed brewery on a Saturday night and they play a nice variety of music. The brewery does not offer food, but they do have a food truck right outside which is a great option!
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
Invasive species is not specifically spacious. The building is a rectangle, so the bar is one long line. There's a bunch of 4 tops a couple feet from the bar stools. Then There is a line of the large kettles on the other side of the tables. The lighting it's all Edison warm lighting. The reflective counters and mirrors with the lights are slightly triggering my astigmatism. It's slightly darker than I would Like dispute the amount of lights. The decore is overrun with skulls or taxidermied invasive animals. I suppose they are doing their part for the environment. The pasty was the best ipa sour I've had. The megalodoom you need to get if you like barrel aged stouts. The special delivery I didn't enjoy but someone else next to me did. Mocha man is good but coffee ish. The loakals only was fun and woody.

Yelp
We make this spot a stop on our pub crawls. Staff is the best. Friendly and always willing to give you the rundown on the taps. Chill vibe and the Food truck staff works like an attached kitchen for when those munchies kick in. I'm not a flight person, my friends in from Nashville are, so I lived vicariously through them. If you are a sour fan like me, they always have a couple solid selections. If you don't want draft, check out the cooler. Lots of other spots you can walk to from here. Save the Uber dollars.
google avatar

Yelp
Great selection of beers. Very laid back atmosphere and friendly staff. Food truck was very tasty.
google avatar

Yelp
Ok so this place is a legit gem stone. I was on a coast to coast brewery trip, Northern California and ending in Florida. This place was my ending place and fucking killed it. The atmosphere of taxidermy animals and mammals was dope. They also didn't have TV's which is perfect. The beer is hands down amazing. I went from hazy, to Ninja Juice to Megladoom. Everything was 4/5 or 5/5. They have indoor and outdoor seating, parking is street parking but easy. Overall this is a MUST to stop at. The beer alone is absolutely amazing. This brewer is a step ahead and the staff internally is a perfect fit of dopeness.
google avatar

Seda K.

Yelp
Great people. Very cool environment. They have one of the best beer selections in SFL right now. The food truck partner has decent food as well.

Dan R.

Yelp
First time visiting, I had a "Florida handshake" which was their Pilsner paired with their Bourbon. Both were delicious. This whole place is a vibe. If you haven't checked it out yet, go do it. P.S. Mason and Kate very attentive and good conversation.

Alan S.

Yelp
Great brews, great dudes. Always accommodating, just a great hang. Truly, everyone's home away from home.
google avatar

Zac L.

Yelp
Looked forward to trying this place out but the service and the ambience were the worst I've ever had at a brewery. The bartenders were rude. They were playing loud head banger music at 2 o'clock on a Sunday and did not take the time to serve us. We left without any food or drink and will not be back. Don't recommend

Roxy B.

Yelp
Omg !!!! Yes yes yes yes !!! This !! Is the best way to have a good time!!! Highly recommend!!!! The BEST!!!
google avatar

Ali R.

Yelp
It's called a Beer Spike. It sounded very interesting. I was told to try it. Beer Spike is where they take 2 half glasses of Stouts. Marshmallow stout is the best option for this. They heat up a metal "pole", stick it in each glass to create a sugary crystallization from the foam that makes the top of the foam warm. When you drink it, you get the coolness from stout at the bottom. It's such an interesting thing that I would suggest people to try it at least once. But you'll love so much that you'll be back for another.
google avatar

Alex B.

Yelp
Located in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Invasive is by far one of my favorite breweries to visit when I'm in the area. As you walk inside you can't help but notice the massive kettles where all of their beers are crafted in, while the unique & welcoming aroma from the yeast fills your nose. The taxidermy & pictures hung up inside really give you that south Florida vibe. There are plenty of areas to sit either out front, inside, or on their back patio but it definitely fills up on the weekends. The bartenders are always friendly & work to do their best at getting your drink orders in quickly. I typically don't have to wait more than 5 minutes as they're usually well staffed & on top of their game. I especially like how they always rotate their beer menu which allows you to try new drinks without getting bored if you're a "regular." However, that sometimes sucks when you find one that you really enjoy. They offer everything from ales & stouts to IPAs & amazing sours. If you're hungry you can go to the food truck that's located out front but they're only there on Wednesdays-Sundays (according to Invasive's website). The food is really good so you'll be pleased with whatever you get from there, as well. Next time you want to try a new brewery, Invasive should be on your list!
google avatar

Tina K.

Yelp
You walk into this brewery and it feels like you have entered a swamp. They have old twangy banjo-type music and the coolest vibe. There were a few kids and they do allow kids, but honestly, it is more of a bar vibe in the evenings. Everyone was super nice and we got served right away. The lady behind the bar gave me a few great suggestions! Good assortment of beers and seltzers- heavy in IPAs. They had a dole whip seltzer that tasted like amazing sugary goodness!
google avatar

Jonny B.

Yelp
I love this place. They have the best sour beers in south Florida!! The people and vibe is everything here. Keep doing what you're doing guys.
google avatar

Alexandra R.

Yelp
Every though they don't serve food, the truck outside was great! My sister and I got a few flights and drafts and most of them were terrific!
google avatar

Daren R.

Yelp
Halloween Pub Crawl location..One of the best breweries in Ft Lauderdale. Staff was very knowledgable of the beers and were patient with our several questions. Staff also had a great attitude - lately thats a hit or miss...Bar had tons of huge Halloween decor. 5 star easy

Kellie M.

Yelp
We bought almost three flights...glasses and a larger beer for three more! We had all ipas...the triple was very good! All of the sours were great! The chocolate stout was good too. We were disappointed that they didnt have any of them canned ready for sale.....i wanted to purchase some fshirts to go but they were very limited. I asked bartender if i could call back and order some, and he told me that i cannot call n order and would have to physically come back to purchase....he was Extremely rude! I do not understand why floridians HATE TOURISTS!!! It was a shame, our female bartender was great...im not sure if he was manager, he seemed to just take over our service...like i said beer and vartender served us great...the young guy full of tats was an ass! Made ys leave a review like the way he made us feel when we left!
google avatar

Matt B.

Yelp
This place kicks ass, even on a Wednesday night. I went before a concert and had two of their flights (8 tasters) The top three I tasted were the Nerd Herd hazy IPA, the Coconut IPA hazy IPA, and the Blastometer Stout (15% ABV, bourbon steeped). The place is decked out with dead animals (stuffed) and it's a long bar with a lot of taps. They had at least 30 brews on tap. The place gets busy, but there is a decent amount of room inside. The food truck outside is great also. You can bring in your own food to the place which is a plus.
google avatar

Matt W.

Yelp
Heavy Metal Hazy IPAs Come to Invasive Species. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I can't wait to come back. The IPAs were stellar. Hazy and Hoppy. They had a great looking food truck outside and lots of outdoor seating in the back. Service was great too! Will return!
google avatar

Joe C.

Yelp
Came here on a rainy Florida day. Mason and the team are crazy chemists. This isn't brewing, this is alchemy. Outstanding beers, flavor profiles and service quality in a VERY busy joint with a mix of locals and travelers. Definitely back this trip and any others n the future.
google avatar

Sonia K.

Yelp
It was a pretty cool place to hangout with friends after dinner. The bartenders were super friendly and great gave recommendations. In fact, my friend and I ended up ordering one of the bartender's favorite drinks so I highly recommend trying the Patsy. They also offer flights if you are looking to try a variety of their brews They have both indoor and outdoor (in the front and back (seating). I do wish they made they made their ciders as they are one of my favorites.
google avatar

Ben Z.

Yelp
Best brewery in Fort Lauderdale. Hands down. Great selection of sours. Check out their instagram for fun pop up events. Love me some invasive!!
google avatar

Yelp
Such a cool hole in the wall! Been wanting to try this brewery out for a while and it did not disappoint. Lots of beers options for different tastebuds out there. I have to say their sour options were creative, fun and tasty! Staff was cool and friendly and gave great suggestions. Definitely check this place out if you're looking for a fun, laid back place to hangout with friends.

Alison P.

Yelp
This brewery in Ft. Lauderdale was one of our favorites on our brewery crawl. The beer was delicious and had a great variety for all different beer lovers. The food truck had great fries and a great quesadilla to tide us over. The brewery itself has a great vibe, overall a great stop for any beer lover.

Steve C.

Yelp
Best brewery in south Florida. Ok my batender in Boca Raton asked: "Better than Civil Society?" I said just as good for quality of beer. Civil Society is just bigger and has more. Invasive species brews fantastic beers, plays great music, and is a real city bar atmosphere. Not just babies and dogs like most tap rooms. This is a real bar experience! Thank You staff for making this a great place. My wife and I come here from Boca Raton, stay in a hotel for a couple nights just for this experience.

Mallory W.

Yelp
Best beers in South Florida, maybe even one of the best nation-wide. Juicy hazy IPAs, decadent barrel aged stouts, biggest taxidermy collection I've ever seen in a brewery. Absolute perfection.
google avatar

Paul M.

Yelp
Great vibe, fun bartenders and awesome mix of patrons. One of the best breweries in south Florida. If you love beer add this watering hole to your bucket list.

Sean O.

Yelp
Fantastic craft beer, good tunes, fun staff, great food truck. They make it easy to can and bring home favorites.
google avatar

Mari H.

Yelp
We LOVED Invasive Species from the name of the brewery to the beer names, logo and the vibe itself. It has such a unique look and the beertenders were great! This was a great location to chill and end our evening of breweries as it was low key the brewery offered plenty of conversation starters. We have been following them on Instagram since our visit and there are so many different posts that make us want to go again. Something to look forward to when down in the area again.
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
This place was such a vibe! Came here for the first time after a friend told me that I would like the beer selection here, and he was right! The ambience really called my attention. Small but full of decorations which was great and the music... Hit after hit after hit. I had the the Doopleback which reminded me of a German dunkle and then I also had their well known Knife Bump which had hinta of vanilla ice cream and you know it wasnt bad! I thought it would be too sweet but It wasnt and definitely a favorite. Will definitely be coming back!
google avatar

Steven D.

Yelp
Really good brewery. The beers and service were great and they have a huge selection of beers. I will give a recommendation, careful parking to the right of the building. I did not know ot was paid parking only and it cost me $55 dollars.
google avatar

Mario L.

Yelp
A must visit brewery of south Florida, cool and unique atmosphere with kind beer tenders. All of the beer here from IPA to stouts are great, my favorite of all being the sours! Very innovative berry and atmosphere!
google avatar

Audrey S.

Yelp
Nice patio area to grab a beer. Especially during covid. Plenty of seating and tables are well spaced enough that we felt comfortable enjoying a brew outdoors. A torrential downpour hit while we were there (#florida) and it ended up being clutch that each table has an umbrella. Also seems useful when it's hot and sunny. The indoor space wasn't exactly my cup of tea. Way more crowded than should be allowed during the pandemic. Plus overly loud, mildly angsty music and a bit dark. We passed right through and went straight outside. The beers were, however, very much my cup of tea. The porter and double IPA were both very good and flavorful. The menu was fairly extensive with good options for whatever type of beer lover. No food. But they had a food truck parked out front. The truck was decent the day we were there, and it was nice to enjoy lunch with our beer. Super happy case loads are finally getting low enough to enjoy a beer outside, and this place was great for it!
google avatar

Christina F.

Yelp
If you're looking to have good beer, with a good vibe, in Flagler Village, this is the spot! It is definitely a chill spot. Also, they always have a good food truck (Billy's Curbside). There's plenty of outside seating and inside as well. The beer lineup is always good. I love their sours, and their IPA's are always good too. It is a good spot to get a flight and try out different options, which is typically what I like to do since every beer I've had has been delicious.
google avatar

Adam V.

Yelp
The beer here is great! IPA's were delicious with the right amount of dank and I appreciated their experimental section. Was able to taste some beers with some uniqueness like Neapolitan ice cream flavored beer & peach ipa. The environment felt kind of a hipster/ edgy vibe compared to some of breweries in the area, but good service, fun, friendly, and must try beer!
google avatar

Scott D.

Yelp
This place is cool, don't get me wrong. It's so great it's packed like the club on a Friday night. Friendly bartenders and VERY good beers, just very crowded. If you want the typical brewery vibe, this isn't it... It's more like a FLL dive on the Fourth of July. That said, it's beyond solid.
google avatar

Afa I.

Yelp
Love this place for sour beer! Their choice of craft sour beer is great. Many different types to choose from. We ordered a flight, and it was super! Good ambience, popular place ...full with loyal customers. Delicious sour beer. I enjoyed the "Records" one. I'll be back for more!
