"When ordering from Irie Mon, timing is everything. Their jerk chicken and oxtails are fantastic, but they’re on the heavier side. So, plan ahead—if you don’t grab a bite during a break in the show, you might end up dozing off under a Central Park tree right when your favorite act hits the stage." - juli horsford, jacinta howard

"If you follow the plume of grill smoke or the steady trail of nursing uniforms and business suits, you'll hit this low-key Jamaican café hooking up oxtails and curry chicken at the Macquarium office building on Peachtree. Because it’s so popular with takeout orders and food delivery services, the jerk chicken is always within tong’s reach. Don’t hesitate to grab some if you’re in a hurry. Should you have a few extra minutes to wait (with a Kola Champagne in hand), get the jerk salmon, a semi-spicy dish accompanied with grilled bell peppers and onions that takes its times coming out the kitchen but will have you hurrying back." - DeMarco Williams

"With hearty servings of jerk chicken cut into lean, chunky bites and perfectly prepared rice and peas, Irie Mon Cafe in Brookwood Hills seems to offer a true representation of Jamaican food on its menu. Bite into breakfast meals like porridge (cornmeal or plantain), ackee and saltfish with hoecakes, or the fried-plantain-topped callaloo and fried dumpling. The cafe also serves Halal curry goat, beautifully spiced braised oxtail, and even a fried chicken entree that challenges some of the city’s most famous establishments for crispy yardbird. Irie Mon Cafe includes a mural depicting JFK, President Obama, Nina Simone, and Usain Bolt painted together against a Jamaican flag centered around Bob Marley and one of his most famous lyrics." - Mike Jordan

Jamaican food here is amazing! They have a restaurant side and a lounge side. The ambiance was so fun and relaxing. We had oxtails, cabbage, rice and beans, and jerk shrimp. It was all amazing. I believe Shawn was the owner. He was such a great host. The drinks were great, and the amount of food you got for the price was spot on. Now, the drinks had the right amount of flavor and alcohol. If I lived here, this would be my weekend spot!

Google
Irie Mon Cafe made our Thanksgiving absolutely unforgettable! The food was a fantastic blend of Jamaican and American cuisine, perfectly catering to everyone's tastes in my family. The service was impeccable—my order was ready with no waiting time, and the prices were very fair. They had everything I needed for a delightful Thanksgiving experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking to add a flavorful twist to their holiday meals! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

My waitress was excellent! Food was served hot and in a timely manner. All staff very friendly. The ambiance is perfect. It’s a great location for a date or birthday party of if you just want to chill after work. love it!

Google
Couldn’t comment on the atmosphere because I didn’t go to the location in person. Ordered through a delivery service and it was delivered really quickly. Food could’ve been hotter. The cabbage was excellent. The oxtails were pretty good but not the greatest. The flavor was good and they were tender, but it was missing just a little something. The beans and rice I did not like at all. Oxtails are almost $35.

Google
Thoroughly disappointed 😞 my oxtails were nothing but fat!! And the stingy amount wasn't worth the price..And I also ordered a side of plantains for $6, and as you can see the amount I received for that. I do not recommend 😐

Google
The curry chicken was tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The cabbage was well-seasoned with a nice crunch, just the way I like it. I also appreciated that the jerk chicken wasn’t overly spicy without the sauce—perfect for my picky taste. Overall, I was very happy with my meal and will definitely be back!

Google
Ordered the patty around 1 am and it was disgusting. Taste was not authentic, very bland and mushy.. I can tell the patty was definitely frozen and a cheap brand. The location wasnt the best to find especially at night. You have a small distance to walk from the parking lot to the actual building front door. they do charge for parking after so many minutes so be prepared to maybe pay. Thank you for the reply. I will give you another chance soon!

Google
Food is soooo good here. Sometimes the lines are super long, but it's totally worth the wait. I'm from South Fla, so this restaurant is the closest I can get to authentic island food. Lots of Caribbean restaurants in Atlanta are terrible, like Golden Krust, and Irie Mon puts them all to shame.

Sherrie C.

Yelp
Food, service, ambiance is amazing!!! I had oxtails, rice and peas, plantain, wonderful!! Nigel is an excellent chef. Food is definitely prepared with love!

Ashley C.

Yelp
I ordered Irie Mon through Door Dash and it was great. First off, the food was packaged so well. If you've ever had Jamaican, you know that you HAVE to hold the bag from the bottom so that you don't spill any of the gravies and juices. Each container was wrapped tightly with plastic wrap, so even if the driver didn't handle it with care, the food would still be intact. It was also 11 pm, so I thought the rice would be hard and the chicken dry lol. That was not the case! The portions were amazing and everything was fresh. There was a promotion on the jerk chicken last night, so I've been eating leftovers throughout the day. If you haven't been yet, give Irie Mon a visit. Very good and I'll be back!

Yelp
Not sure if there is a hairnet rule but my curry goat and rice has hair all in it. Couldn't eat my meal and I can't get anyone on the phone. So disappointed, I wanted to talk to someone before leaving a review to give them an opportunity to explain. But, wasted money I wouldn't recommend this restaurant Guys wear a hairnet!!!!

Yelp
This is my second time here. The first time I ordered the snapper, that was not good, the fish tasted Ranky , it had scales & wasn't seasoned well. Almost wrote them off, the festival was decent. Yesterday however, 8/21/24 I ordered The Oxtail dinner 7/10, & ordered the Curry goat 7.5/10 - goat was overly too soft but the taste was good, wished it were spicier but still overall good. The service was great this second time. ambiance is quick in & out, not much of a vibe but the do offer outside seating & minimal indoor seating.

Jade C.

Yelp
The customer service was really good here. The design of the establishment looked really clean and sleek. I ordered the salmon pasta. Unfortunately it was so underwhelming. The salmon was almost non existent and cut up into small pieces. Some of the pieces even burnt. Even a thin filet would suffice. The pasta itself was initially so bland. Thankfully the nice lady offered hot sauce. It was very tasty, and livened up the pasta. I did like the freshness of the bell peppers as well. The salmon was supposed to be the star though, just seemed like a rip off.

Yelp
How did Irie Mon Cafe Manage to score a food truck presence Outside of rum punch brunch? I will never know... What I do know is I was famished... In need of a home cooked meal Ladies and gentlemen On a drunken Sunday afternoon I found this food truck in Atlanta I swear they had a line That was reminiscent of the walking dead Everyone partying all afternoon lining up at the same time to eat Considering how crowded it was and The fact that this Irie Mon Cafe was conveniently close With authentic jerk done in the smoker And rice and peas along with cabbage As side items... Wow is all I can say The chicken was good The rice had flavor ( traditional West Indian spices) Texture was good Cabbage I've never been a fan ( doesn't matter from who) So I can't tell you how it tasted Customer service was top notch Gave the impression that I was the only customer ( extremely shocking, these people were beyond busy) Will definitely eat here again!!!!!

Yelp
I travelled from Washington DC and was so excited to have some great ox tails finally. I'm sorry for anyone in the comments who had a negative experience as mine was nothing but amazing. I placed the order online and when I arrived the girl confirmed everything I ordered. The ox tails literally just fell off the bone. Food was delicious! I got a side of jerk sauce and loved eating that with the rice and cabbage. Amazing flavor and fair pricing for how huge this portion was.

Michelle M.

Yelp
I must admit, I often forget about this restaurant until I have to run an errand in the vicinity and see the smoke from their grill and smell the delicious jerk scents. When you enter the restaurant there are bright red and yellow colors and there are a few tables and chairs for patrons to dine in. I tend to stop by during the lunch hours and order the jerk chicken meal, which comes with rice and peas and your choice of plantain or cabbage. The jerk chicken is tasty, but often I find the rice and peas could have more peas and they could give you more pieces of plantain to the order. All in all, it's a decent option for takeout Jamaican food and is convenient when I'm in the area and craving some Caribbean eats.

Tash M.

Yelp
Visited on several occasions and the jerk chicken was consistently delicious! Service was excellent as well.

Qaadira J.

Yelp
I specifically came to this place bc I was craving oxtails after 8 months of not having them. I paid $30 for oxtail, rice and peas and cabbage. They didn't have cabbage at 12:00pm (peak lunch time) so they offered plantain. The rice was DRY!! The plantain overcooked and DRY! The oxtail.....to say I'm disappointed is an UNDERSTATEMENT TO PAY $30 for dry oxtail, no gravy?!?!!! A pure waste. I've patronized this business before and was satisfied but to experience this pure waste of my hard earned money this time....it will never happen again!

Christina E.

Yelp
I stumbled across this place and the jerk chicken, rice and peas, and cabbage didn't disappoint. It was flavorful and a good portion. I ordered to go and it came out quickly. I'll be back.

Laura T.

Yelp
The amount of quality of the oxtails are excellent. The customer service was great. The location was so hot. They could use a ceiling fan or a fan of some sort inside. The parking sucks. It's $6. I ent around 11:30am and the food was hot and fresh. They took time to cook my daughter's request for "food" aka yam n boiled dumplings and it took about 30 minutes but it was worth it.

Zachery G.

Yelp
Very great taste. Ended up seeing their food truck @GU Disruptor Summit my homeboy told me about jt before so just the perfect time to see what he was talking about. And i approve

Toya C.

Yelp
I've been twice so far and both times the food has been amazingly delicious. Location - easy to find. You do have to get a parking stub but the restaurant provides up to 25 mins and validates parking. I've only had the oxtails but I would love to come back and try the jerk chicken too. They are generous with the food portions. The plate I had was rice and peas and it was actual beans. Also with cabbage and plantains. The meat is flavorful and fall off the bone tender. Everything is seasoned just right and the plantains gives you that burst of sweetness. Large oxtail plate $30 They have some seating inside and outside. I'd recommend it and return.

Lauren F.

Yelp
Great people, customer service and food! The Mac & Cheese, plantains, jerk chicken and cabbage was hitting and well-seasoned! I've been to many carribean spots and this one has the best mac & cheese and plantains. The oxtails were fatty, so I'll stick with the chicken next time. Will be back!

B S.

Yelp
They lack professionalism and honesty. If you order the buy one get one free option on Uber eats they will give you whatever they feel like providing. I ordered TWO plates of curry chicken. What arrived was ONE plate of oxtails and a ginger beer. I don't eat beef and ginger beer is not a meal replacement. Now I'm pissed and hungry. If you do not have the ability to honor the promotion then remove it from the platform. I would have happily have paid full price for the meal that I wanted. You have now lost a first time customer.

Tiara B.

Yelp
Every time I'm in Atlanta, it is a must to visit to Irie Mon Cafe! Love their jerk chicken with rice and peas and cabbage. The food is often fresh and delicious. They validate the first 15 mins for parking which is great because if it's busy you will have a longer wait to order. So if you're looking for some authentic Jamaican food, head on over to Irie Mon Cafe!

Sammy N.

Yelp
Good people, great food. I highly recommend the oxtail, brown stew chicken, and jerk chicken. This is authentic Jamaican cuisine that never disappoints. The owner is exceptionally kind. I witnessed him go above and beyond for a customer whose Rasta pasta order was forgotten. He not only comped her meal but also gave her free oxtails and invited her back for a complimentary meal the next day. You can tell it's a family-run business, and everyone I've interacted with has been incredibly nice. Arrive early if you want the RUM CAKE. I've had many rum cakes, but this one stands out. Though simple, it packs a punch with its amazing flavor, moist texture, and makes for the perfect dessert after a meal here. While the prices might seem a bit high, the portions are generous, making it worth every penny. My wife and I usually share the brown stew chicken and jerk chicken, and we always have leftovers. Don't forget to ask for oxtail gravy over the rice and peas! It really elevates the flavor of the rice. The ambiance isn't fancy, but it feels like enjoying a meal at someone's mama's house in Jamaica, which I absolutely love. Though it's a restaurant, it tastes like a home-cooked meal. For a great beverage, if you like soda, try the Jamaican Kola Champagne! My wife grew up on these, and I can see why she was obsessed as a kid. It's a delightful cross between cream soda and Fanta. I have nothing but praise for Irie Mon, except for one small disappointment - I missed out on the rum cake because it sells out so quickly! Not their fault; it's just that good!

Lisa W.

Yelp
Hubby and I stopped by @iriemoncafe today to grab some dinner. Definitely some of the best Oxtails, Curry Chicken and Jerk Chicken we've had in years! Omgoodness... everything was so delicious!!! And the service was great! We will be back soon.

Dexter H.

Yelp
No lie this is probably the best Jamaican food I've had by far. My wife and I ordered the oxtails and jerk chicken. First off, they had a deal on the jerk chicken and we got two plates for $20. The flavor of not only the chicken but the rice and the cabbage was just incredible. We also ordered the oxtails and my goodness them thangs was hittin on sumn crazy. I swear this place is gone make me come back to Atlanta every month. The food was a 10/10 for my wife and me. Matter fact 20/10. Shit was fire

Robin S.

Yelp
Rasta Pasta is really good! Service was great. The restaurant was pretty clean and organized. I'll be back to try the Curry Goat

Natalie B.

Yelp
The best jerk chicken! The owner, Chris, shows devotion to excellent customer service.

Warren W.

Yelp
this food is horrible. please see below. this is how the jerk salmon was prepared, with grease behind the salmon.

Theoharis P.

Yelp
Was very disappointed with my meal from Irie Mon Cafe! Sorry , they can be serving these dishes in this upscale community. I had the RASTA PASTA! It was not a good recipe. The entire dish had a weird tasting flavor. Not like the Rasta Pasta, that I had in CO! It t I was a big disappointment. I know the community , is not worth the $21.00, I paid for this meal. Warning: Be careful ordering from this establishment!

Monica W.

Yelp
A Happy Accident. I Found This New Restaurant In Peachtree Corners Unexpectedly & I'm So Happy That I Did. The Jerk Chicken Reigned Supreme. The Rice & Peas Were Cooked To Perfection, Not Gummy like some places. I Love How TheMake There Cabbage It Has A Few Other Veggies In It. The Flavor Profile Of Each Dish Embodied The Richness Of Jamaican Cuisine. I Met The Manager She Was Informative & Kind. The Ambiance Was A Rich & Warm Feel With Beautiful Plush Green Seating.

C J.

Yelp
This place used to be good! I'm not sure what's going on lately. I always order on Uber eats. My order was an hour behind. The first driver mentioned they didn't even start preparing my order until he arrived. So he waited about 20 mins and canceled (totally understandable). Got a new driver and some how my food taste dry! Purchased extra gravy for oxtails. NONE. No seasoning just blah.... chicken and oxtails: taste very overcook and dry Rice: undercooked This will be my last time ordering from here! So disappointed and a waste of money.

Shani B.

Yelp
The Jerk Chicken and rice and peas is definitely one of the best in Atlanta! Service is fast, food is served hot. It is definitely worth it ... it is basically a take out spot.

Breon J.

Yelp
Great food and great service! I am a huge authentic Jamaican food fan (and critic) and this is some of the best that I've had. I always get the jerk chicken with rice and oeas and cabbage drizzled in oxtail sauce. Hot and fresh everytime and full of flavor. The staff is friendly and always makes sure it's made to your liking. The shop is a small building ln buckhead brightly colored and themed. I would recommend it more for pick up but dine in is fine too!

Dwayne S.

Yelp
This restaurant is very unprofessional. Apparently they feel like their customers should be happy to business with them and not the other way around. For the 2nd time, I've been called 20-30 mins after placing my order to let me know that they don't have what I ordered. The worst part is instead of accommodating you with another option of your choosing, they force you to accept something cheaper than what you ordered as a replacement. This has literally happened in to me twice here. I'll never order it again and I hope you don't waste your time and money ordering from them either.

Laina B.

Yelp
Their brown stew chicken is top tier & the cocoa bread is a must no matter what you order

Miguel G.

Yelp
I was craving jerk chicken at 11 o clock and said to myself surely there isn't a spot open rn, low and behold Irie Mon pops up, definitely came through for the craving. These hours are so nice I will definitely be calling in more orders soon, I might've given it 5 stars but I ordered the rice and peas and plantains and illicitly ordered cabbage on the side so i could try it all, insteadI got rice peas and extra cabbage so I can't speak on the plantains which can make or break a Caribbean spot for me but maybe next time

Viona L.

Yelp
got the oxtail and jerk chicken on my short trip to atlanta ~ the food is amazing and very flavorful

Perry W.

Yelp
Best Jerk chicken in Atlanta I've had. They have a variety that suits your palate. Try and you won't be disappointed.

Daline D.

Yelp
The food was delicious and the portions generous. Not much space for dining in but for the quality, take out is just fine.

Jay F.

Yelp
Every time I order from here I wind up getting whatever they felt like giving me and not my full order. This has happened 3 times now. I won't keep ordering from here, that's a rip off. Please check your orders.

Shihintha S.

Yelp
Love this place! Tried this place at the Taste of Buckhead and I'm so glad they were there! I've been here like 4 times since lol I had the Rasta Pasta with Shrimp and omg y'all this is so delicious! It is something else! I've had it every time I've gone. I also tried the jerk chicken twice and that was good too! One of ladies suggested I try the rumcake the first time I went. It wasn't bad but definitely tastes like rum. This place is was such a great find! It's kind of hidden because it's with an office building but it's worth it! Go check this place out! Ps. They do validate your parking

Mathedel D.

Yelp
I stood at the register to order, with no one else in line, for 10 minutes with not so much of an acknowledgment, even though the staff was less than 3 feet away from me. One worker dropped a beef patty on the floor, looked to see if anyone was looking, then placed it back in the bag, which had also fell on the floor, and set it on the food counter. I know someone got that patty that fell on the floor. She could have thrown it in the trash next to her, if she wasn't planning on serving it. At this point, I had enough and turned to leave. It was only then that someone came up behind me to ask me for my order. NO THANK YOU!!! I would leave a negative 10, if I could.

Marisa S.

Yelp
My husband and I ordered food from here just this past Saturday night. We aren't from the area but they popped up on maps as being open until 3am. We went inside to order food to go around 930p and upon leaving, one of the employees invited us to come and dine in right across from the actual restaurant. I guess they have a lounge now. It was dim lit with little touch lamps on the tables, music was playing, and they had a bar. The ambiance was really nice! The plan was for us to get our food and head back to the Air Bnb, put we decided to sit and eat there. The employee help us get seated and got us some drinks from the bar. The food was really good and you got a lot of food for what you pay. I had the white rice and oxtail plate with cabbage and my husband had the peas and rice with oxtail and cabbage. We shared a order of the jerk chicken as well. The jerk chicken was really spicy when you ate it plain but adding the jerk sauce that was provided made it better. Next time we're in town, we definitely will stop by again.

Amber M.

Yelp
This is the worst Caribbean food I've ate. Whew I had my hopes high because of the reviews . I'm so hurt my food feelings was left down. First off I ordered extra gravy, no extra gravy anywhere . First strike I hate spicy food so I wasn't expecting my brown stew chicken to be spicy Af!!! Mouth burning . Girl what the freak is this ???!!??!! The food taste like it was old Lack of flavor Just upset Wasted my money

Lesli R.

Yelp
I decided to give Irie Mon Café a try for lunch today. The restaurant was very clean. My order was taken and completed within minutes. As you can see from the photo, they give you a heap of food. The chicken and cabbage were very tasty. The rice and peas were very bland, no flavor. If you put a little bit of the sauce over the rice, it's better. If I'm ever in the area, I'd definitely eat here again. Recommended!

Tobias J.

Yelp
Oh my goodness the food was delicious!! Reminded me of a Jamaican restaurant in Petersburg, VA called Flavas Jamaican Grill. You can smell the food walking down the street. Definitely going back next time I visit. Now I'm thinking about the food....

Nedra M.

Yelp
I can't even begin to tell you how good this place is. Some of the best fried chicken I have ever eaten in all my years of eating at restaurants. So juicy. Even the white meat was juicy. The jerk chicken is too die for. Just enough spicy to tease your tastebuds. Along with the rice and peas. And to top it all off... PLANTAINS. Of what a glorious lunch. I'll be back next time I'm in Atlanta

Ashley C.

Yelp
Located in the corner of another building. Food came quick. It was pretty good. I was excited to try. Definitely could've had more flavor on the rice & peas. Cabbage didn't taste seasoned at all. Jerk chicken was good, could've been better though. The jerk sauce definitely has that store bought taste to it. The jerk chicken had that taste of the Jerk Seasoning paste that Walmart sells. You'd almost think a white person ran this place by the way the food taste... I probably won't come back here. Customer service was good. They really need to work on those recipes. Seems like they just throwing stuff together & don't care how it taste. But they gave me much food, I could've split it with someone else, but I have food to save for later ^_^ Parking free first 15 mins. $4 after 30 mins.

William G.

Yelp
We stopped here to pick up some Pattie and Coco bread. 1800 Peachtree St NW, Atlanta. Restaurant in office building lot, $4 to leave gated lot. When we walked up saw the barrel drum grill w smell of chicken, so pretty sure it is on point for the island taste. We only got beef Patties w Coco & Tropical Rhythm mango. Return trip whenever in Atlanta again.

Fiona T.

Yelp
Authentic yaad food! I pass by this cafe almost weekly, I see the food truck often, but with so many spots claiming to have Jamaican eats, it can be overwhelming. My brother and I were looking for ackee and salt fish Saturday morning and came across Irie Mon, only to realize this is the same restaurant we've been passing up for months/years now. The menu was one of the most extensive I've seen a Jamaican spot have out here, reminded me of Miami. The ackee reminded me of home, so safe to say I'll be back every Saturday. Customer service was excellent. So many items I am ready to come back to try. Few things to note: the restaurant is tucked away and attached to what looks like an office building. In order to access it, you have to get a ticket at the gate. Parking is free for the first 15-30 mins, and after the fee starts at $4 and increases from there. Would def recommend calling in your order to save some time!

Della L.

Yelp
Yes and YES and YES AND YES!!!!!!! When you see the grill outside you know what's up! After attending carnival 2022 and being disappointed with the food...We were on the hunt for some great Jamaican food to settle our tummies. After reading reviews all the local Islanders stated this was the spot. And boy were they on point! Customer service was absolutely amazing and these were the best oxtails I have ever had and that's a high bar to reach! We also got fried chicken and baby they had the graces ketchup!!!! If you know you know! The jerk chicken was amazing as well. The main thing that I really loved about this food was it was truly authentic no water down flavor and the spice was on point! We have deemed this spot Our Jamaican go to whenever we are in Atlanta!

Kiera A.

Yelp
I always thought I wasn't a fan of Jamaican food after trying it multiple times, but a friend brought me a plate from Irie Mon Cafe and I am now a fan! The food was so good. I have a new go-to for Jamaican food.

Rene B.

Yelp
Just tried the fish... curry fish and escovitch fish. For what you get it's expensive. The price was comparable to going out to a nice sit down restaurant. But once you get past that the curry fish is good. So far I'm a fan of the curry dishes- so good! The escovitch fish was just so so.
