Google
Food was great ! I came for the fish and chips and decided to also order the fried shrimp. It’s definitely a must, the environment is great to pool table darts And music entertainment.

Google
A solid place for dinner. Service was decent on the patio. Fried shrimp basket was quite large. Heavy Guinness batter, great cocktail sauce. I’d probably skip the Jameson flight next time. Bean and ham soup was delicious. The boxty was alright. Good for a low key, no rush, hearty meal.

I went on Thursday ladies night, with lively karaoke. Has a separate area with pool tables and darts, and has an option of some board games too. I didn't have any food, but my family says they have good food too!

Google
Irish Wolfhound serves delicious food in a comfortable pub atmosphere. I had the fish and chips with a cup of Irish seafood chowder. My wife had shepherd's pie with brown bread. Both meals were great, with substantial portions. We shared meals and we both loved everything. We also had a side of sautéed vegetables, and that was excellent as well. The service was prompt and friendly. I highly recommend.

Google
Came in from out of State to Suprise to visit family. I searched best burgers in Surprise, this place came up as one of them. Very glad we came. Burger was phenomenal, a bit messy, but who doesn't enjoy a great messy burger. Great service and food. Definitely a spot to stop and try out. Recommend for sure.

Google
I've been here several times and the food here is really good. We came on 8/1/25 a friday, I got the friday fish fry which is all you can eat and a appetizer of fried shrimp, my brother got a ruben which he said was really good and he ate it very quickly. The fish here is really really good, the only comparable was the fish I had in Saint Thomas. They brought extra once I finished eating the first batch. I was stuffed. My brother also had a Guiness. Only thing else is that I miss the old style of fries they had.

Google
Everything we tried was great, loved the soup and the corned beef is great! We loved the live music and had fun dancing

Google
Used to go all the time, have left previous reviews over the last 10 years. The food quality has been getting worse for a longtime. We keep going back hoping it would improve by now. Well tried again tonight, as usual service and atmosphere are great, but the food is something to be desired. Very disappointing. Soup was nothing but garlic and had there irish burger, which was very disappointing, tasted like an old frozen burger, came with fries which werent cooked. I didnt say anything so shame on me. Just sad when you can get a better burger from Chilis for much cheaper. Last visit i had the reuben and swore I wouldnt get it again because it was nothing but 2 pieces of meat on bread. They used have great ones and huge, I can get a better one at a diner now. Im just so unhappy, that they havent improved there food in years. Too many new places to go to instead of being disappointed.

Yelp
Great place!!! Great food (Lamb stew is phenomenal) Fish and chips are delicious light batter. Burgers are great!!! With many varieties of Burgers. Mussels are excellent. Make sure they are served hot temp wise as th big bowl of them the heat dissipates quickly and I ask for white wins sauce not the red tomato sauce which is on the menu and they accomadate this menu change! Everything I have had there is great!!! Bangers and Mash. Big breakfasts. Full fun har. Pool table area. Smoking enclosed area attached outside but covered. Tables in the back bar area that is allows more privacy. Nice wood flops and wood paneling. Just reall a great place Trivia nite hands even during the week and of course Weekends with live music. Staff are always great friendly and knowledgeable and timely with their service I've never had dessert there so can't speak about that... Just want to say my brother from Boston was here visiting and he loved it! Wanted to go back several times and when he talks to me on a call or video chat he usually asks if I've been to the Irish Wolfhound... and did I have the Lamb Stew He says he can't get over it and thinks about has bid the Lamb shank was in the stew Too funny! So go there and enjoy their different varieties of beer also!!! Enjoy

Yelp
This experience was a let down. My husband wanted fish and chips. The first place we were going to order from did not take orders over the phone. I thought about this restaurant because it's next to our favorite Mexican restaurant. We called and placed a to go order for Fish & Chips. She made it sound appealing. It would be ready in 10 minutes. When we arrived there was a sign that said please seat yourself. However, there was no direction for picking up an order. I walked over to the right employee and asked where I would pick up. She stated the name and I confirmed. When she realized I was paying with cash when went to get the food. FYI There is a cc surcharge which is taken off if paying with cash. My husband was disappointed with the entire meal including the breaded fish fillet, fries, coleslaw and tartar sauce. No flavor. It did not live up to expectations.

Yelp
We went to the Irish Wolfhound on a busy night. The place looked really cool inside, with a nice, pub-like feel. We found a table, and it took a while for a server to come over and take our order, but they were friendly when they did. I ordered the fish and chips. The food came out, and it was warm, but not very hot. The fish was a little greasy, and the fries were just okay. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing either. My friends said their food was similar, decent, but nothing special. The atmosphere was fun, and we enjoyed our time just hanging out and talking. It was a good spot for a night out with friends, but the food was a little disappointing. It's a fine place, but not a new favorite for me.

Yelp
Went on a Sunday to watch a football game. Place was busy and it took awhile to get acknowledged/provided a drink. The staff were working very hard-it appeared they needed extra staff for a Packer game. We sat at the bar and Hannah was a top notch server. Very attentive and friendly. Seemed to know the " regulars"/what they drink etc. (Always good for a bartender!) Enjoyed the make your own Bloody Mary bar but some beef stick/cheese garnish would be good! This is a Packer bar! My husband had fish sandwich and fries. Said it was great. Large portion of flaky properly cooked fish on tasty bun. I had the Philly sandwich and coleslaw. Very good-enough for 2 people. Lots of TVs to watch the game, plenty of tables and great outdoor space. Can't go wrong with an Irish bar! Glad we stopped in for first time. We will return in future.

Yelp
My god, this place is terrible. From the service to the overwhelming fish oder. I work in an Irish pub, you should know how to pour a proper pint of Guinness let alone a car bomb. Waste of time and money, glad the kitchen was closed so I didn't have to be even more disappointed.

Yelp
What a great irish pub with great food. We go there for their all you can eat Fish Fry on Fridays, but this trip we decided to go for a Saturday lunch. Let me tell you the fish dish has an 8oz piece of fish! The friends I brought were amazed at the size. It is well worth ordering. They have your choice of Irish beer and my mom is a Guiness fan so we each got one with our meal! Service is great and quick and the meal very well prepared. NOTE: if you go on a Friday go early or expect a long wait! Head to the Irish Wolfhound for good food and beers.

Yelp
Saint Patty's day event was fun and festive. Live music and Irish dancers made it fun. Drink prices were good. There was a fixed menu for St. Patrick's Day, which limited options which you can understand based on crowds and restaurant ability to accommodate. I recommend for a fun Irish celebration and traditional Irish menu.

Yelp
LOVE THIS PLACE ....I AM from Ireland & am SO GLAD to say it IS a VERY GOOD taste Of Ireland .....Guinness is ALWAYS poured correctly & the food is ALWAYS delicious.....OFTEN go there for the entertainment.......typically a band that plays Irush music OR a GOOD mix of songs

Yelp
Very good service, friendly and quick. Jerylin answered our questions and provided suggestions for this, our first visit. We arrived on Memorial Day for lunch. A memorial was set near the entrance to the restaurant as a reminder- it was very thoughtfully presented- with the empty chair. We enjoyed the sliders and shepard's pie with chowder. All of the dishes needed a splash of salt, but were otherwise well prepared. We also ordered a side of curry chips. The curry was flavorful with a small bit of spice. The restaurant has a very large footprint with outdoor (smoking permitted) patio, a large table in the back for larger parties and a game room with pool and darts.

Yelp
So the food isnt the greatest, and maybe it's not the cleanest establishment in the world, but it's a bar. It's a quintessential dive bar. It's warm, inviting, cheap drinks, and good people. Actually this place is home to the best bar tender in Arizona, Paul! My wife and I literally come back every week just because of Paul. Business owners take heed, your employees will either make you or break you, in this case, Paul made this place. Every bartender needs to be Paul!

Yelp
Great Irish ambience with wonderful pub food. Service was excellent and the whole Irish theme was extremely warm and welcoming.
google avatar

Yelp
A cold pint of Guinness, enhanced the cup of Guinness Beef and Barley Soup. It is homey and comfort food. They are generous with their tender chunks of steak! It was an okay rendition of Shepherd's Pie. A ladle of filling for the base, a ladle of mash on top sprinkled with cheese. I will try something else the next time. Friendly atmosphere. There are a bunch of regulars. Most people sit at the bar and banter. Responsive bartender. It was a warm meal for a rare rainy, winter's day.

Yelp
Brittney was a wonderful server! Truly terrific in every way! From replacing a split drink at no charge to allowing me (an adult) to order a kid's meal - she continued to serve with a smile all night. Most of our table ordered the fish & chips. Some opted for all you can eat and some just ordered the dinner option. Either way, she kept the fish coming! As for the food, it was mediocre at best. The fish was good, but the fries lack all flavor and weren't crispy. The coleslaw was just plain bad. On the other hand, the side salads (garden and Cesar) most of us ordered were terrific! Fresh, decent size and the croutons were SO GOOD! I was told they're made with Irish soda bread and let me tell you - the best! They offered live music on a packed Friday night which was fun, and they sang a bunch of older songs, perfect for the mostly 70+ crowd. We will return for the ambiance and service but will order something else.

Yelp
Very yummy food. We've been here twice now and have had 4 different things; we loved them all. Last trip was the Brie Sliders (super delicious) and the Bacon & Cabbage (surprisingly filling). This trip we had the Shepherd's Pie & Beef Barley Soup Combo (yummy but both needed salt) and the Dublin Coddle (huge portion of food). The reason for 4/5 stars is because we were there for an hour and 50 minutes total. Lunch should NEVER take that long. Service was really slow but that won't keep us from coming back. We are already planning the 2 next things we will try!

Yelp
Great food Look at the food cost Then look at the 6 beers cost $45 dollars is way our of line for 6 draft beers Either Wow is too expensive or they are over charging You can figure it out on your own
google avatar

Jordan S.

Yelp
Great bar area. Opens up to the rest of the restaurant, too, to make for a great vibe. Open and lively. Good service both from the bartenders and wait staff. We had drinks, but also dinner at the bar. Had the all-you-can-eat fish and chips on Friday night. It was very good and the service was consistent when ordering more. Yes, a great Irish setting. :)
google avatar

Natasha A.

Yelp
Came for St. Patrick's Day and they had live Irish music all day. There was a $10 cover charge. On the set menu we had the Corned Beef & Cabbage (excellent), and the Fish & Chips (not great). It was packed but we were lucky to find parking and a spot at the bar. Service was okay, they definitely seemed overwhelmed and needed more staff.
google avatar

Yelp
Quality of food and service has taken a hit .. the best fish and fries in town now come creasy, warm and overcooked. plus since when are 8 reg. size chicken wings listed as jumbo and cost market price ... a whooping $15! not a busy night, staff was overwhelmed and service was slow! My heart hurts .. this is very disappointing!

Bruce T.

Yelp
Food was good but the service was not good. Our waiter stood up at the bar talking to some customer. It's pretty bad when the person who brought the food had to get me a beer because our waiter was to busy bullshitting with some guy at the bar.
google avatar

Yelp
Being a few days before St. Pats day , celebrating my daughters birthday she decided to go to the IW . We all ordered the Fish and Chips dinner. We all agreed that the fish was dry and bland, very little taste. The ff were average but the portions was small .We were a group of 3 adults and 3 kids. If the waitress had been more attentive we would have probably ordered more drinks and appetizers. Mediocre service and the place was not very busy at the time. Wouldn't return here and can't recommend the place.

Yelp
Nice quality food and drinks. Live music and room for dancing. Attentive staff and friendly atmosphere. 10/10 will be back.

Yelp
The Irish breakfast was so good. Not really into bar food or greasy food, but I was there with a party and got the traditional Irish breakfast, I need it every morning if I didn't think I'd gain 500 pounds from it. Just writing this review, it's making me crave that soda bread and blood sausage.. Anyhow check it out.

Yelp
Wandered in here early on a Saturday for a quick drink and bite. Sat at the bar and everything was great. Had the slider trio and curry chips. Drinks were cold, food was good, and service was great. What more could you want?

Janyce M.

Yelp
Since my husband and I moved to Surprise, we have had many a lunch and dinner visits to Irish Wolfhound. Love their Rueben sandwiches and fish and chips
google avatar

Dagoth U.

Yelp
I wanted to eat here after work but apparently you have to be 21 to eat here even at like 2pm on a Monday. Probably better to spend your money next door at Oscars with a culture that knows how to make food , rather than eat the Celtic, barbarian slop they serve here.
google avatar

Jennifer W.

Yelp
The shepherds pie is fantastic my husband is hard to please with that. Great service and atmosphere. We will be coming in here again before we leave
google avatar

Carol C.

Yelp
This place always has some good and varied entertainment weekly if not daily. It's never boring here! They also have a large patio area too.

Sari A.

Yelp
Friendly service, great food (& drink!). Love the fish and chips. Also love the authentic Irish decor. Huge patio, comfortable too!
google avatar

Yelp
3 is kind of that middle ground, the food was good, the service was good. And there maybe a day if I want to eat out and pay a restaurant an extra fee because they for whatever reason need to charge a fee on top of there menu pricing. Those prices usually are calculated to include all their costs. (Food, and operating expenses (projected and unexpected) including fees for customers utilizing a credit card. Do the math at a minimum 1.00 per card use. Or, it's like I want a $14.00 burger that is on their menu and after I eat it they tell me it's actually a dollar more if I use my card! That should've already factored in. (Operating cost) I just don't agree with the practice even if I were a cash kind of person! Best Buy doesn't add a fee on as you pay for your new TV, Computer, etc., with your card. Anyway good food, good service just have no plans of returning.
google avatar

Yelp
Went in and sat down for lunch on a Saturday and they kicked our party out because we had a teenager eating with us. They claimed it was part of their "licensing" and couldn't have kids under 18 eating there, even though there were several parties that had teenage kids in them. would not recommend.

Ron F.

Yelp
We went on fish & chips night like we have a dozen times before. Fish is usually pretty good, it wasn't this night. Fish was tough and chewy, fish isn't supposed to be chewy. No biggie, mistakes happen. We told our server we wanted to send it back and get something else. Our blonde server immediately copped an attitude and told us she had to "get permission" before they would take it back. She returned a while later to take our replacement order, same attitude and snidely said no one else had complained. When our replacement order came it was delivered by someone else (who was very polite). For the rest of the order our blonde server literally ignored us. When she passed our table she would purposely look away. When we wanted refills on our drinks we had to flag down a different server. When it was time to leave we had to walk up to the register to ask for our check. Not sure we have ever been treated so badly by a server. We are waiting a little bit before we return hoping she will be gone before we go back. We after all do like the restaurant.

Fran A.

Yelp
Fish is excellent. Rarely do I get cold reheated fries. Service is great and staff are kind. Ambiance can be improved by allowing a more private setting environment. Tables are jammed together to get more people seated. Add more private booths and lower the very loud music.
google avatar

Ken B.

Yelp
LOVE this place! The MEATLOAF is to DIE for! Boy it will fill you up along with fish and chips!!!
google avatar

Beth J.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I dropped our car off for an oil change and walked over to the Irish Wolfhound for dinner. He ordered the fish and chips and I ordered their signature burger. The service was painfully slow. i ordered my burger well done and it arrived as a medium. It was a solid 20 minutes after we received our food before we were able to flag down some assistance. They offered me another dish but i wasn't interested in waiting even longer for them to produce something edible. I left hungry and irritable. This establishment was a huge disappointment.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
The minute we walked into this establishment, we were shocked at the lack of cleanliness, trash in the entry way, vinegar bottles were greasy, spot and grease stains on silverware. It blew my mind as this was a fun place to visit once in awhile. Food was also mediocre, our server worked very hard to make our dining experience pleasurable but the cleanliness issue was an issue one can't forget. Don't know if we will ever return, which is a bummer.
google avatar

Nancy W.

Yelp
We had a large group of 12. Called ahead of time, everything set up and waiting for us. Our waitress was extremely accommodating. Food arrived in an expeditious period of time, hot and delicious. Our waitress repeatedly returning asking if we needed anything. We all had separate checks, again, no problem. Friday nights, typically have very good music for dancing. Will patronize again.
google avatar

Jim D.

Yelp
A fun Irish Pub with great wait staff. We were a group of 6, and sampled the Irish beers on tap, along with fish and chips, shepherds pie, and bangers and mash, among other things. The food came out fairly quickly, and was all very good. The group used this venue to plan a trip to England/Scotland/Ireland, so it put us in a great mood for discussion. We'll definitely be back!

Jesse d.

Yelp
Free pool Tuesday's, good eats, friendly waitress, fun place to visit, I will definitely be back.

Sally W.

Yelp
We've been going here for years. Unfortunately the last 2 times we've had very greasy fish fry," several other tasteless entrees and tasteless sides. I brought my family here and was extremely disappointed with the food again... Nice wait staff. Rude inexperienced bus staff. We will not return. Too many other good restaurants in the area.

Carrie E.

Yelp
I was sadly disappointed when they served me the corn beef and cabbage and I couldn't cut the cabbage with my knife, it was a bit undercooked and the core very tough. I always looked forward to the corn beef, cabbage and boiled potatoes. This restaurant serves each item by itself without the juices intermingling..... just a big letdown.
google avatar

Dennis H.

Yelp
This place has it all. It can get Busy. It can get noisy. Great selection of beers, tap or bottle. Every hear of a Guinness, Smithwick's mix? We have eaten there often in the past years. Everything is above average and heading towards excellent. Others have said this, best to steer clear of the Fish and Chips. Can be cold and greasy. Friday night all you can eat but small chucks of fish, hot? Yea but.... Bangers and Mash, Meatloaf, Dublin Coddle are my favs! Remember it's a pub, food service can be slower than most. Acceptable but slow.

Claudia M.

Yelp
Food was great. Service was so so but not too bad. Ambiance was great. The outdoor area is nice and the Irish band was awesome!! Defenetly a good place to go.
google avatar

Eric M.

Yelp
I had a bad experience with Irish Wolfhound and my wife and I haven't been back for a year so thought we would give it another try. We decided to go for lunch and when we arrived it was kinda slow. The food was good but the French dip was amazing. Will be ordering it again.
google avatar

E N.

Yelp
The Irish Philly Cheesesteak is one of the best I've ever had! Wife had the Irish Wolfhound Burger (with fried egg!) and loved it as well. The fries were decent, the service was good, and the decor definitely spoke of Irish pub. Great overall experience!

Kelly D.

Yelp
Waited way too long for a server to even come to our table. Then we were basically pushed out of our table by a large group that surrounded us. Waited an hour for our food, then we witnessed it being delivered to that large group...and they TOOK IT. We left and no one acknowledged us at all. Worst service ever.
google avatar

Michelle E.

Yelp
I am in love with this place. It's been on my to-do list for a while but I'm never in the neighborhood. Just by accident, my husband and I drove past on other errands and he pointed it out. I was excited to have found it! So of course, we had to go in. Being a self-proclaimed fish and chips connoisseur, my hubs got the fish and chips which he loved. He let me try and it was fresh, not greasy, and flaky. The tartar sauce was homemade and so were their chips and coleslaw! You know that sickly sweet taste of fast food coleslaw? Yeah, you don't get that here. It's crunchy and soooo good. I couldn't resist getting their Irish Wolfhound Stew. A leg of lamb and stew bits. My god. Best lamb I have ever tasted. Best stew I have ever tasted. And the plate was so large! Everything was fresh. Service was fast and friendly. Pricing was great. We couldn't stop exclaiming at how wonderful it all tasted and how we needed to come back and try everything else. If I had to make any criticism at all, it was the bread they served with my stew. It was also homemade but I was unused to the taste and texture. And it's probably me, not them. I'd just never had that kind of bread before. It was brown and tasted like a mix between rye and cornbread. I'll give it another shot next time. Oh, did I mention the decor? It's so cute inside! They even have an Irish home front inside that I think serves as storage but adds great atmosphere. I'm in love. Can't wait to go again.

Yelp
We have been here several times. Great pub! They do have live music on weekends & special events. So definitely check out their website! We have had their burgers (Awesome!!), pretzel appetizer, sliders (beef tenderloin & Brie; fried cod, reuben), mussels & clams appetizer (don't recommend) fish & chips (usually always good & on Fridays for $20, all you can eat fish & chips. There was 2 times where you can taste their oil needed to be changed), turkey club sandwich. Staff always friendly!!! Chairs not so comfy, unless you get lucky & get a booth! Great local place!

Randy K.

Yelp
We were disappointed with cheese steak and Rueben sandwich. The portions of meat were very small. The Rueben was microwaved so hot it had no taste. We have been going here for some time. Something has changed with the manager or the cooks.
