The Hit List: New Philadelphia Restaurants To Try Right Now - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"When Cuzzy’s closed, it left an ice-cream-cone-shaped hole in our hearts. But residents of Bella Vista and Queen Village can rejoice—Irv’s Ice Cream is slinging scoops of creative flavors on Passyunk Ave. The housemade classics are great too, but it’s the horchata, lemon cream, and cookie monster that has locals lining up down the block. Head over after dinner at Royal, or anytime you need the creamiest thing in the neighborhood (and a break from John’s)." - candis mclean, alison kessler, candis mclean, candis mclean, alison kessler, candis mclean, candis mclean, candis mclean, alison kessler, candis mclean, alison kessler, candis mclean, alison kessler

Google
Incredible ice cream! My wife and I have been looking for the perfect spot in Queen Village to no avail ... until we popped by Irv's. You can tell the mint chip had ground-up mint and was very fresh. The lemon blueberry was delicious, made with lemon curd. Vibes are great, staff is super nice and helpful, and what more could you want than a Philly Mascot mural holding some cones 🍦

Google
Decent ice cream, egregiously priced. We got 2 double scoop ice creams And the ice cream flavors were decent. But almost $30 for four scoops Is over the top. I've had plenty of artisanal ice cream in my life and have never paid $12 per ice cream plus tax and tip. This will be a 1 one-time stop for us, especially since John's is right around the corner.

Google
Great new ice cream addition to the neighborhood. Tons of flavor options - both classic and unique. A must try!

Google
Ambiance is a little weird but the ice cream is very good! I had sweet corn and it was delicious.

Google

Google
Such a great addition to the neighborhood! Ice cream was flavorful and fresh, service was friendly. Prices are a little high for the amount you get.

Google
Best I’ve cream in the city! You can’t go wrong with any flavor, but if it incorporates the homemade baked goods you’re definitely in for a treat!

Google
Mint chip has the weirdest flavor I’ve ever experienced. In a bad way. $2 for a drizzle of fudge is also wild

Yelp
I came on the first day of their opening. The owners are super friendly and welcoming. They introduced themselves to me. Many selections of flavors. You can sample them before making decisions. I bought a pint of peanut butter and chocolate. Perfect for peanut butter lovers. You can taste the actual peanut butter swirled in the ice cream. There are some . seatings inside

Yelp
Pretty good stop for a quick sweet treat! Very fast service affordable prices and they allow you to get a kid size if you're an adult. Seems like it's exactly what you want in a South Philly ice cream parlor. The decor was very Philly focus including your favorite mascots painted on the walls. Overall enjoyable experience.

Yelp
Amazing find... ice cream, cake slices, & cookie sandwiches all made on site. Favorites so far: sweet corn, butterscotch, budino, brown sugar swirl peach pie ice cream, and Horchata with just the right touch of cinnamon

Yelp
Legit taste, friendly service, cool jawn to grab a cone and top it with jimmies. Creamy, fresh, not overwhelming blends, they got the flavors rightly balanced.

Yelp
Love, love, love this place! Irv's has been a mainstay at the Cherry Street Pier for some time and just opened their first brick & mortar location replacing The Chilly Banana which closed their storefront in November 2024. The new space provides a few indoor and outdoor tables. There are dairy and vegan flavor options on rotation. Flavors range from standard of vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and to the adventurous of horchata, sweet corn, coquito, and banana chocolate tahini swirl. Irv's is local and woman owned. They offer a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Yelp
Run don't walk! This ice cream is soooo rich and creamy...and the flavors are nice and fresh too. Lovely sitting area and open late! Love John's but if that line is down the block... cough cough, just come around the corner!
