This was our first time here and we came after school. Alma was our server and she was awesome! She was very friendly and very helpful with the menu and what we ordered. Definitely will back to try new things. The drinks were amazing and the food was good.

Google
This was my first time trying Mexican sushi and it was a flavor bomb since it tasted similar to a fried sushi roll from a typical sushi place but with a Mexican twist which elevated the dish. The smoked marlin enchiladas (flour) with refried beans and rice was also delicious and the portion is huge like Texas to the point that I got full even with a large appetite. As for the chips and salsa, it was pretty good. Overall, I would come back again to try more dishes on the menu especially more of the Mexican sushi.

Google
Our server Alma was very helpful and kind. We enjoyed her help on trying to decide what we wanted to eat. The food was amazing and the portions are great for the prices!

Google
So many menu options! I had the birria ramen for lunch, which I will be ordering again. My friend ordered a cantarito with their meal, but unfortunately, I couldn't enjoy one for myself at the time, so I'll definitely be back to get one!

Google
Birria is amazing! I loved it. Prompt and friendly service. Live music was fun. Don't miss the ice cream place hidden in the back!

Google
Authentic Mexican. Pretty good. The waitress was nice. I think we were sort-of forgotten in the back room; I can see how easily that could happen, though, especially on a busy night. All and all, the experience was a good one.👍

Google
Alma provided excellent service. We took advantage of the Thursday special on sushi rolls. They were amazing! Don’t hesitate to come to Isle Del Mar for delightful food and dining experience.

Yelp
Such a lively spot on the weekends. Live music, great group/family gathering spot and less than typical Mexican food. Fish served much in the Baja style (whole and unstinted) makes for a delicious and messy meal. More typical chips, salsa, guacamole all available along With fajitas, tacos, rice and beans, etc. the difference here is that there are more seafood options than Americanized Mexican restaurants. They even sport a sushi bar which is pretty good and shows the fusion capabilities when the ingredients and know how come together. Margaritas on tap, beers, and plenty of tequila options available. Fast service, but be sure to ask for a knife as this is an all hands on food experience! Open all week, this place is busy on the weekends with live music and a full house it can get loud and parking tight. If you are looking for quiet, try it during the week and enjoy happy hour deals. The original of two Omaha locations, this South O locale now boasts the addition of an ice cream parlor like their West O spot. Yum and fun!

Yelp
ordered 2 dozen oysters and got 8/24 w out any oysters. Asked if we can get an order off and of course the manager refused. I then proceeded to order a sushi roll without avocado and what do i get after two bites of the roll ? Avocado . Thankfully i had my epipen on me . But when i asked the server if he can take it off my bill he had stated that his manager said no and was going to make him pay for it out of his pocket!!! Knowing how hard it is for servers i wasn't going to have him pay out of his own pocket because of his managers selfishness. To me this is horrible management especially if you've been a server you can understand the dent it makes in your pocket when your boss still takes from your tips and they're still making you pay out of pocket instead of being understanding 1/10. server was great though

Yelp
Quesa-Tacos are the best birria tacos I have tried in Omaha. They are big, tasty and soft. They may be a little pricey, but they are worth every penny. Totally recommended. Pizza birria was delicious. No words to describe this masterpiece. Completely recommended.

Yelp
They welcomed us as soon as we came in the door. Beautiful, colorful seating area. They have a mixture of sushi, seafood and Mexican cuisine. I ordered a burrito with shredded beef and cheese, in a yummy beef consommé. We ordered a spicy California roll and shredded beef quesadilla. Our waitress was super nice. We got to listen to a mariachi band, a little loud, but nice.

Yelp
I've been here several times and haven't had a bad experience. Service is always fast and the servers are always friendly. I love their ceviche, the mixto is my favorite. The camarones (shrimp) roca is also amazing, comes huge battered shrimp with a delicious sauce (it's like bang bang sauce). Also got a pulpo (octopus) taco, tender and flavorful. The canarito was also good. I swear every time I come in there is some sort of buy one get one free drink special. I need to check out the location out West and the new on in Shadow Lake.

Yelp
Great space, food and service. The menu is huge but focused on Mexican Seafood and some sushi.

Yelp
I went to Isla Del Mar with some friends and we loved it. I had the Molcajete Mar and a michelada and they were both yummy. The service was good, and staff were bilingual. They had live music which was a plus.

Yelp
I love their birria tacos!!! Their guacamole is so good too and I made sure to order extra chips this time!! I also ordered a Horchata that was so delicious! A side of their consume was perfect with the tacos!

Yelp
The place for Birria! From quesadillas to fries, to nachos to ramen; they offer a wide array of how you can get their tender with slight spice Birria. There's also endless sushi and other dish options. Full bar but my favorite here are the Cantaritos--tangy with a chamoy Tajin rim. A large restaurant means no waiting for a table and the servers are always attentive.

Yelp
The soup was salty and regular discount was not allowed, the manager was a jerk and didn't understand or reasonable about the situation and wholeheartedly would never recommend eating here again. They wanted to give me a $20 gift card when I never want to go here again in my life!! I got sick from eating the fish in the soup ONLY!!
google avatar

Yelp
I really don't know why it took me so long to try this place I love seafood! Isla Del Mar did not disappoint! They have a big menu and Our waiter was very nice answered all of our questions about the menu! Food was delicious and the portions were just right! We did go on a Friday evening and there was live music I was having some trouble hearing the conversation we were having but as they always promote on their social media live music on Fridays I wasn't surprised!

Yelp
Best sushi in town--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The vibe is great, with stylish paintings and a cool theme that adds to the overall experience. A perfect spot to enjoy amazing food in a fun setting!

Yelp
Mind blown. Totally. Freaking. Blown. I was in town for a quick visit with relatives and we wanted to try this place out after reading about it online. Wow. Started with shrimp nachos and a grilled octopus that I will literally dream about until we can come back to town. Served with rice and a delicious and fresh pasta salad, it was literally perfection. We ordered the sushi "monkey brains" that was yummy crab stuffed into an avocado, breaded and fried with spicy Mayo and eel sauce on top. Yummmm, made me dance in my seat. We tried 2 other rolls, I don't Remember the name of - both very tasty. But the big surprise was the bariria!!!!! Soooo gooood! We will be back!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Wow, who knew that sushi and tacos can be served in the same restaurant? And this place knocks out of the park with freshness and quality. It may be a little overwhelming when scanning the menu, but just breathe, you will find some gems. The birria taco was so good and filling. It's not your typical taco, because there is so much meat. I couldn't even finish it and I love tacos. The mantra ray tostada that I tried was also amazing. So venture out and try this spot out.

Yelp
O M G This place is to die for. Our waitress was amazing Our food was even more amazing and out drinks were fabulous. Crab enchiladas have 100% real crab and packed full. Bang bang shrimp was huge and my hubby loved them. Sushi was one of the best iv had in omaha area. We will for sure be returning customers, check out my fish bowl drink!!! Thank you for a pleasurable experience for our early valentines dinner.

Yelp
Average, very average. So average that I only ate a couple of my tacos and didn't take my leftovers to go. Two stars, because the guac was fresh and tasty. Tacos were a disappointment after eating the tasty guac. Birrira tacos and consume were not the delish flavorful ones I'm used to eating in the great state of Texas.

Yelp
This place has been on my list for months and it did not disappoint! The flavors are all very authentic, and the dishes are full of color and variety. The guacamole easily became the table favorite and many of us filled up on that rather than our meals it was so good! I had the shrimp/steak fajitas and this was plenty for 2 meals. Everything was cooked perfectly. They were not spicy, but I added some spicy sauce that came on the side and this added such a great flavor! The drink menu is heavily tequila/beer focused, which didn't provide many options for those of us looking for other liquors. I went with the cosmo, and it was very strong--a bit too strong even when I stirred it together. The waiter overheard that it was my birthday and asked whether I wanted a cake or shot. I chose cake but sadly did not get a picture as we devoured it too quickly! Overall great service, exceptional food (although I will admit it is a little higher in price than I expected), and the cherry on top was a cute Valentine's Day Photo Booth we got to take pictures in afterword. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Still loving here! We did lunch delivery and we all have happy tastebuds and over full tummies. The biggest hit was the birria pizza. Easily large enough to feed 4 people for $23.

James M.

Yelp
Every Wednesday's fish special taste and price is awesome the entire place is clean (including bathrooms) the staff still learning my name "Jay" but they're all awesome! Aloha

Yelp
Located in a plaza, with a amazing service! Authentic Mexican ambiance and food. What an experience here.. came with family and was immediately greeted. This place does her park, but the service is quick. Menu is extensive and ranges from rational Mexican dishes to sushi!! The drinks are on point along with seafood... soo many options like I stated. The taste of the food is flavorful, with authenticity. Planning to come back before I leave.

Yelp
I had food delivered from Isla Del Mar yesterday afternoon. I had ceviche, nachos with shrimp, & quesadilla with shrimp. All 3 claimed shrimp on the menu. There was no shrimp in any of it. The overall flavor was well seasone, but the closest thing to shrimp was some kind of seafood chopped very small & chewy. I was disappointed. I believe it could be anything including octopus which I don't eat for moral reasons.
google avatar

Karley S.

Yelp
This place is divine. The ceviche tower was so flavorful with shrimp, octopus, and fish. The lime and other spices had it all come together. So so good. The fish tacos were too notch too. The fish was nice and krispy. The cabbage and red onion were nice proportion to everything else. My husband's birria torta made his day. We will most definitely be back.

Yelp
Always amazing seafood! The staff is always so friendly and nice. The ambiance is friendly.

Yelp
Two different people had suggested this was the place to eat for authentic Mexican food so of course I had to go check it out! My friends and I went on a Tuesday evening for their tacos. The interior is very open, clean and spacious with fun ocean themed wall decor. They had upbeat music playing in the background but it wasn't too loud. Our server immediately brought us fresh chips and salsa for the table and was very helpful in answering our questions about drink and food specials. I ordered the Cantarito which was half off ($4.50). The shrimp, fish and birria tacos were 3 for $5 so I got the shrimp ones and my boyfriend got the fish tacos. We also got an order of empanadas, Birria ramen, and an octopus taco. The Cantarito was tasty and well balanced with citrus and spice. I felt like it wasn't as strong as I was expecting. The shrimp and fish tacos had very similar flavors because of the breading and they were so scrumptious! It was super well seasoned and I loved the pickled onions on top. The birria ramen is as the menu describes, a rich broth with instant ramen noodles and stewed meat. There were five empanadas that came with my order, they came out hot, crispy and had tons of filling. I wish I had a photo of the cheese pull! There were three of us who ordered an octopus (pulpo) taco and I was sad to see I had the smallest piece! The octopus was cooked to perfection, tender and not rubbery at all. Many of my friends got birria tacos and they arrived to the table absolutely sopping wet. The tacos were swimming in juices which made for an unpleasant eating experience. We did have a mishap with the food orders, somehow a couple of my friends' orders got messes up. Our server was great in helping to fix it but it took a while for the food to arrive. The food was some of the best I've had and so flavorful. I am giving it 3 stars because of the inconsistencies in the pulpo tacos and how soggy the birria tacos were. However, I would love to return and try some other dishes.

Yelp
Came here for sushi and margaritas, wasn't disappointed. The margaritas were strong, and the sushi was buy 2 rolls, get a 3rd free. How can you go wrong? I recommend the original margarita (on the rocks or frozen)...the flavored margarita tasted a bit fake to me. Loved my sushi as well, the Nebraska summer roll was my favorite. There are great happy hour deals, but even at dinner, they offer specials.

Yelp
Listen: this place is what heaven will be like when it comes to the menu. Mariscos (seafood In Spanish), sushi, sashimi and great Mexican food! And all of it was delish!!! Service was excellent (especially as my moms was with me and she speaks Spanish). I'm trying my best with Duolingo as holy smokes this place was so good: I'VE GIVEN MYSELF SPANISH HOMEWORK to make ordering a lil easier for me (no worries: the staff speaks English but go in with some español yall, it's fun to learn!)! The ambience is busy but like a tropical restaurant! There's these great pics of sea life painted on the walls and you can tell there's a love here!!! And the place was jumping with some lite live music (not too loud tbh). Will be back! And those Micheladas are life!!!

Saul A.

Yelp
ESPECTACULAR TODO !! Muy recomendado El mesero Jose muy buen mesero !! Super el servicio ..

Yelp
Celebrated a friends b-day with great food! We all tried something different from their wide menu and everything was tasty. Service was good and food didn't take long to come out. I will be definitely be back!

Yelp
Isla Del Mar is a distinctive Mexican seafood restaurant! It took me back to my roots in Mexico. I tried their ceviche and I must say, it was an absolute delight! They prepare it like the traditional recipes, bursting with zesty flavors and an authentic blend of spices. The overall experience was terrific! The staff were friendly and very attentive.

Yelp
One of our favorite spots. Great portions, good atmosphere, and service is always fast and they are friendly.

Shad K.

Yelp
Went on a Saturday night. Place was crazy busy at 7pm but was able to secure a spot. Ordered the ceviche tostadas for an appetizer. Crazy big portions and food was delicious. Got the birria burrito for my main. Not bad but not great. Tasted more like pot roast with a small side of spicy water. Seafood was on point. If you love fish and spicy seafood then this is the place if you want tacos or burritos maybe find something else.
google avatar

Sarah G.

Yelp
It was all seafood. As far as the eye can see. Do not come here if you're vegetarian / keto because you will potentially end up eating a pile of lettuce with tomato, onion, and avocado on top like my friend did. For the rest of us omnivores - or even pescatarians I suppose - it was a delightful treat of ceviche in mass quantity. Also pretty much anything that swims in the ocean is fair game here and so are all the different preparation styles... Fried ceviche tacos quesadillas, you name it. I also have a Horchata which was delicious! Mmm. The menu itself was so vast it was honestly hard to pick and looking around over the course of our short lunch visit, At other diners orders, I was certainly inspired for several return trips. Family friendly too! The facility itself was just generally awesome in terms of decor, service, and cleanliness. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. (But, not if you are a keto vegetarian.)
google avatar

Katie R.

Yelp
the pizza birria is definitely the best by far! makes foa mean leftover too!!!!!!!!!!!

Carla C.

Yelp
Thanks Lola (Mariana) for the great service! Great menu, food presentation - a work of art, and of course, delicious! I ordered the blue crab enchilada, my husband, the caldo 7 mares soup (7 seas), generous portions, great flavor, great array of hot sauces, crispy chips ... again - delicious!

Yelp
I've heard about this Sushi & Mexican food restaurant for months & we finally made the trip to South Omaha. For a Sunday 12:30 lunch there wasn't a line & plenty of seating, but after an hour a line started to form at the door. We started out with margaritas; choice of lime or mango. Nothing fancy here, just light on the mix, which I really like for the lime flavor. The blended Mango tastes really good also. All the tables are served with fresh chips & salsa. The chips are semi thick & the sauce is thin with a lot of cilantro. I enjoyed both. The menu has a lot of items to choose from & everything looks so good, esp. with pictures! We decided on mixed fajitas & NE Summer Sushi roll. The fajita tortillas are doughy & nothing stood out with the steak, chicken or shrimp. I think it could've used more flavor/sauce. I did like the 3 variety bell peppers & onions mixed in. Our side of rice was really Really good. I didn't care for the macaroni salad. I'm wondering why they don't serve beans? The NE Summer sushi roll was another big hit! I recommend it & I look forward to going back & trying more items from their sushi menu. I thought it was cool to see an electronic machine that moved your food to your table & you can take your items from it. This place is great for groups & I look forward to the new location opening this summer on 132nd Center, NW corner.

Yelp
We ordered ahead on the phone and took forever for them to find our order. Got the birria pizza for a group and it was okay! Do wanna go back and try dining in.
google avatar

Thu T.

Yelp
Too many unique seafood choices to choose from! Our waitress was really knowledgeable and attentive with our table as we asked questions about sauces and spice levels. The location on 132nd and Center is large and clean. Seemed like everyone was celebrating a birthday when we went and they had musicians to serenade table side.

Adriana M.

Yelp
This place used to be my go to for ceviche in Omaha. Honestly the last two times I've been there it has not been the same the ceviches is lacking.
google avatar

Sam H.

Yelp
Wow if you want authentic Mexican food. This is your place. GREAT seafood choices! Perfectly prepared with love. Omaha you have a gem.
google avatar

Mal C.

Yelp
First time trying this place. Massive selection of food, excellent service (our server was super nice, forgetful, but very nice) and the very thing we selected came out extremely fresh and piping hot. All in all not my favorite place, unless you want fresh seafood (which is pretty cool for a landlocked state). I'm more of a Rivera's girl for life. HOWEVER, the food trucks in the lot seemed to have different food that smelled, and looked phenomenal.
google avatar

Denise P.

Yelp
For the new location on 132: this place is huge and clean. Food was fresh and delicious! Just opened this week and staff is still learning. If you know a little Spanish that will help. Bring your patience and your appetite
google avatar

Renee E.

Yelp
Ooooooh yum!! Grrrreat Mexican food, seafood, sushi, and drinks!! Service was superb and they have lots of room at both locations! Just need one on the other side of the river in Iowa!

Yelp
Wow! One of the best restaurants in Omaha! Who knew it is a Mexican seafood restaurant within a mile of three meatpacking plants. I grew to love ceviche on my Mexican honeymoon with my first wife. The only place that I know in Omaha that has ceviche is carryout at Absolutely Fresh Seafoods and it is very expensive. Here, the ceviche is great and at a very reasonable cost. This place is authentic. In that regard, it reminds me of a now closed Cuban restaurant in Ralston. I went there with my second wife; it was a brief but passionate marriage. Here, the menu is in Spanish and the busboy didn't speak English. (OPS student?) On weekends, there is a mariachis band; and a good one at that! I was the only White person in the restaurant. My Irish relatives buried in St. Mary's Cemetery wouldn't believe that. My third wife is a South Omaha girl. Although I spoiled her during our NYC honeymoon, she remains grounded. Who doesn't enjoy an Omaha value? In that regard, I bought her engagement ring at Borsheim's (got the Ike price) rather than at Tiffany's. The owner is some sort of business genius. The wait staff wear headsets and that speeds service. They use mobile cash registers powered by Toast. A new West Omaha location is now open. My only negative comment is that my on-the-rocks margarita was a little heavy on the ice. The third wife and I will definitely try the west Omaha location as it is closer to our far western Douglas county lake home.
google avatar

Lauren H.

Yelp
Where do I start?! I had no idea this place had food trucks with their logo slapped on its side and serving some crazy good birria tacos out of it. I've heard a lot about birria tacos living in South Omaha, and just never made my way up and down 24th to try; but since we date the alphabet and "I" was next, we had to try Isla. How a seafood restaurant throws out some killer tacos, I'll never know, but I am definitely not complaining. Snagged a horchata and jamaica for the drive home, and even those rocked a few socks. I have a slightly sensitive stomach thanks to gallbladder surgery a few years ago, and these did not at all upset it. We will DEFINITELY be back.

Jim R.

Yelp
Sergiu had great service. He took care of us the whole time we were there. He's the best.
google avatar

Lesley M.

Yelp
My husband was craving seafood so we chose this restaurant. Huge menu so of course I was stressing on what to order. My oldest chose sushi, my youngest chose kid's quesadilla, my hubby chose mixed fajitas, and I chose birria tacos. Our server was nice and didn't check in too much. He did serve my husband the wrong order but switched it out shortly afterwards. I have never tried birria tacos so I can't compare them to others. They were very good but messy with the greasy broth. My boys enjoyed their choices as well as my husband. We had left overs for dinner too. Overall our food was very good, and everyone left stuffed. We will definitely bring our families here next time they are in town.
