Isla Vida

This is a new place and it seems all of the kinks from my first visit have been worked out. The service was definitely faster and the staff continues to be great. They were attentive. My first visit I ordered the BBQ Guava Pork Ribs they were fantastic. Tender and succulent. The right amount of sweet and spice (a little more spicy than sweet just the way I like it). I actually was shocked there was any spiciness, I wasn't expecting it but was pleasantly surprised. This visit I had the Jerk chicken platter.. equally as delicious. I also had some maduros. They were cooked to perfection. Definitely plan on making this place a regular spot.

Enjoyed my lunch. Opening Day, nice atmosphere, great service and Friendly people. My salad was delicious, and I enjoyed eating my shrimp, I didn't have to fight to peel. Wanted to try more on the menu so I took home the Cuban Chicken the sauce was delicious, but I'm sad I dropped the Mango Habanero Sauce. I need a whole bottle of that.

So delicious and a lovely surprise! My lunch far exceeded my expectations. The 1/4 chicken plate was $12.95 but came with a rice and beans mix, plantains, sauce, and some lettuce with picked veggies. It was more than I could eat on my own. The sauce was garlicky and so tasty on everything.

Really good food. We had the chicken plate one Cuban and one jerk.

This is the best Caribbean restaurant I have ever been to in San francisco. I definitely recommend and going to recommend to my friends and family members!!!

My 1st time ordering from there today. I ordered the jerk fish and the avocado mango salad. It's the real jerk. The spices marry perfectly with fish. It is on the spicy side but it comes with grilled pineapples to cool the spice. The sides I ordered were congri which is a mix of rice and beans. It taste just like the ones they make in the Caribbean. I also had the mixed veggies which was kale, asparagus, mushrooms and red cabbage. It tastes like it had a light vinaigrette to it but it works. The portions are good for the price. I would definitely recommend this place. The atmosphere was refreshing and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I truly hope they stay in the Fillmore because they are exactly what the Moe needs.

Everything about this place was great! The service was fast. The sauces ate delicious. The chicken is well-cooked and moist. The staff is friendly and has a good sense of humor. We went for the whole chicken. The Cuban sandwiches looked delicious but we didn't have any. The churros are amazing too.

This place is absolutely the best. The food is divine! The jerk chicken is the best I’ve ever had in my whole life! The service was exceptionally friendly and quick to make suggestions. This place should have opted for a larger space, because I can foresee big crowds for their food! My wife had the guava spare ribs and they were equally as good. Don’t forget dessert because the churros are heavenly!
