More Ramen Is Coming to Mira Mesa Next Month - Eater San Diego

"Isshido Ramen is replacing Submarina sandwich shop in a 1,704-square-foot-space that will include an open kitchen and ramen bar. Specialties include tonkotsu ramen with a milky pork bone broth simmered for eight hours, tantan-men, a spicy Chinese-influenced ramen, a vegetarian option with a creamy sesame broth, and a luxurious version made with mushroom and truffles. The restaurant will also serve snacks and appetizers like homemade gyoza, and offer fried beef, pork, or tofu cutlets with rice and salad, with an optional topping of Japanese curry." - Candice Woo

This place is incredible! There are so many Ramen options and each one has such a delicious and unique flavor. At this point I’ve tried almost every kind and have loved each one for different reasons. If Ramen isn’t your thing (although, that’s what I used to think about myself until becoming obsessed with this place 😂) there are also a lot of other options here! The rice bowls especially are just delicious. The Teriyaki Chicken Bowl and the Pork Chashu Bowl are some definite favorites. The flavor in these is also wonderful!

Wife loves coming here for their curry, and it never disappoints. Daughter always orders their tonkatsu ramen with yellow chewy noodles. I normally get the black mayo ramen, but this time around I decided to get the squid karage curry and that was delicious as well. The one thing that always brings us back is the excellent customer service from our waitress. She is usually the only one taking everyone's order, but still manages to be so personable and polite. This time around she kept refilling our tea with hot water just so it didn't get cold from the AC. One thing especially I like it here is that she doesn't allow you to pack your leftovers, but she does it herself ,just so its perfectly placed in your To-Go container. That extra added touch of customer service is why we are regulars here. When you do the small stuff to take care of your customers, it goes a long way with us.

Solid Japanese food. The stand out was the black garlic chicken. It was very tender! The dry ramen was great. The curry katsu was legit as well. Fairly priced for Japanese food as well. Service was awesome.

Food: Ultimate Chashu Ramen - delicious. Broth was excellent, the 8 pieces of chashu were delicious, ramen noodles were yummy. No complaints here! Beef curry *restaurant week deal smaller size - yummy! well seasoned Chicken karaage *restaurant week deal smaller size - can’t go wrong with fried chicken Location: In a bustling shopping center. Lots of parking but also lots of people. Ambiance: Cute ramen bar styled restaurant. Table and bar seating. Service: 10/10. Our server was lovely, the food was hot and fresh, and we were waited on immediately.

I love the PORK CHASHU BOWL, the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl and the Chicken Katsu Bowl. They are rice bowls and some of my favorite things here. The sauces aren't overly sweet and the whole bowl isn't soaked in sauce. I love that. I really like the red Fukujinzuke vegetables in them, and even the egg was especially good. I like to leave the Seaweed and Kimchi off so the flavors don't take over. The Chashu Bowl had big chunks of pork that were full of flavor, tender and delicious. I love the sauce on it too. It's my kind of bliss. 🥰 The CUCUMBER SALAD was magnificent. It is slightly spicy and so flavorful. The Short Rib Steak Appetizer was really good too; together they make a nice meal. Or the steak and their fries were great together. The spicy TAN-TAN RAMEN was wonderful with both the ground pork and the Chicken Chasu. I didn't know Ramen could be so delicious! I didn't even consider myself a Ramen person, but I was craving more the minute I finished them. I love the ground meat in the Tan-Tan. That alone had a unique flavor compared to other Ramens I have tried. The TRUFFLE RAMEN is definitely one of my favorite ramens because of the unique broth. It already comes with mushrooms. That broth is really rich and satisfying. The BLACK MAYU RAMEN was good. The broth was complex and full of flavor; and the ingredients were so fresh. I like the thin noodles. The MISO RAMEN was good, comforting and no spice if you want that. The same with the CHICKEN PAITAN. The chicken is pretty plain compared to the others. I usually go for more flavor, but these two might be the perfect thing for some people. I appreciate that they are open all afternoon, and don't have tricky hours to remember. And I like how there are so many ways to customize your Ramen and so many different kinds! I am having fun working my way through the menu. The food may not rock your world, like it did mine. But it's good and solid and definitely worth a try. Especially if you are already a Ramen Person. 😁

Google
The best ramen in San Diego by far, I always order the ishiddo truffle, instead of pork I added some tofu teriyaki with delicious mushrooms that are so juice and tasty, definitely my favorite. we also order the garlic mayu tonkotsu, earthy, hardy base with deliciously light and crispy pork, excellent service, I highly recommend this place if you are a ramen lover🍜

Google
One of the best place to go in San Diego for ramen is Isshido Ramen. Amazing taste, quality and quantity of the ramen. I would suggest to try out Black carage chicken. They have around 13-15 types in ramen including vegan ramen and appetizers as well. Do give it a try.😉

Google
First, I just want to say service was amazing! We came in with a large group, and I wouldn't have blamed them for being fed up with us, but the main server was super nice and took time to chat with us even so. They deserve five stars just for that! Aside from that, food was great. The karaage in particular was excellent, one of the favorites I've had. The black mayu ramen was good, nothing crazy, but for the price ($16) I can't complain. Highly recommend!

Yelp
First time here, ordered the tofu steak, chicken paitan and cucumber salad, oh wow it so delicious. The Tofu steak was made to perfection. The cucumber salad, it was so good. The chicken paitan in a bowl, was a lot and you can feed two hungry kids with that. The soup so delicious. The service was excellent, they were friendly. The inside is clean, ambiance so amazing. Good for family and friends.

Yelp
What a great spot for lunch. The reviews were mid but I decided to give Isshido a try as Menya has been declining in taste and service since their reopening. Everything we had was delicious. The black garlic tonkotsu and miso tonkotsu with the thick noodles were excellent. They were very garlicky, porky, and flavorful. The chashu were nicely charred, although a bit too thin. Made for great leftovers too. The small side of chashu rice bowl was so good! The meat was so smoky and tender. At an additional $2.99 for lunch, it was so worth it. Their fries were also excellently crispy and came out piping hot. Service was very friendly and they were great in providing our toddler with everything he needed to dine without us asking. There never seems to be a wait here but it definitely deserves more hype. Very good all around!

Yelp
Isshido ramen is now our go-to ramen shop in San Diego because of their rich tonkatsu broth, seared tender chashu slices, QQ wavy noodles, and generous portions size for a reasonable price. See my prior reviews for more details, as they are still applicable, and I come here basically monthly. I decided to order different ramen today so that my fellow yelpers will know which ramen to choose from in the extensive menu. Although the isshido miso ramen and the isshido truffle ramen were good, they do not compare to the Isshido signature ramen and black mayu ramen. So I think I am going to stick with my favorites and not try any other ones. I am not a fan of cabbage in ramen (like with the miso ramen), and the truffle flavor plus the small mushrooms didn't appeal to me as much as the garlic in the black mayu ramen. I couldn't help but order another black garlic karaage. It really is just a very addicting appetizer. I am always licking the dipping sauce dish at the end. Service is friendly and professional as always. Tons of parking in free lot. This is a great place for a casual outing, date night, or family feast.

Yelp
My fiance and I visited this restaurant for our Wednesdate. It wasn't too crowded for dinner! The service was super quick! We got a vegetarian ramen, the signature ramen, and the karaage. The chicken karaage was bland, however the ramen was super flavorful! The vegetarian ramen was just as good as the signature ramen! Overall, it was a really good experience!

Yelp
How did I missed this gem?! The beef tongue is delicious! Love the chard on the meat in the ramen. And boy do the workers hustle here!

Yelp
I remember back when they built Mira Mesa Mall there was a Radio Shack here.  I looked forward to visiting once a month for my free battery.  Now Isshido Ramen is here. Short rib steak ramen with thin noodles.  Broth had a nice flavor.  Noodles had a snap and a mild flavor.  Loved how the tender steak was marinated.  Very good tasting dish. Chicken pot stickers were crispy on one side and soft on the other.  Chicken filling was nicely marinated.  Very good tasting dish. Pork deep fried gyoza was very crunchy.  Would have been perfect with a minute or 2 less cooking time as parts were cooked more than I like as the flavor was close to burnt.  Pork filling was delicious. Short rib appetizer was thin strips of beef.  Looked like a beef and broccoli dish without the broccoli.  Loved the kalbi like flavor.  Beef was very tender and juicy.  High quality beef here.  This is my fav dish so far. Service was fast and friendly.

Yelp
I am ramen-spoiled. I live in California so I have had my fair share of ramen all throughout this beautiful coast (even though I actually am not a huge fan of ramen). I ordered the Isshido Signature Paitan w/ thick noodles($14.95). It was good, but not Susuru Ramen Bar or Ramen Nagi or Tsujita level. My favorite part of Isshido Ramen were the employees and I think the owner (although I did not confirm if she was the owner, but she acted like the boss). Also, they have this cute and vibrant floor-to-wall mural which we started to take a picture in front of, and one of the employees (or owner) immediately came to us and offered to take the picture for us. I appreciated that because we had come to Scripps for my very belated birthday celebration so at least we had a memory of that day.

Yelp
Came here to try a nearby business for restaurant week. The uni udon was unique but the display wasn't as appealing as the image and the sauce wasn't nearly as creamy as one would expect. The karaage was a little more interesting than expected, but ultimately just felt slightly more elevated than a normal karaage. The ramen was flavorful and solid, but wasn't a standout or unique. Arguably in San Diego, with all the various ramen shops both big and small, I was hoping for something more unique in preparation or content. Overall would try again, but likely driven mostly out of convenience.

Yelp
The ramen here is always so good. I don't love pork broth, and this chicken ramen is the best one I've tried in San Diego! The service is always great as well - fast and friendly!
google avatar

Yelp
2nd time around was not as great -- I would stick with the appetizers we ordered last time. Kimchi agedashi tofu was too salty - didn't have the milder flavor of light agedashi soy sauce. Better to just have kimchi and agedashi tofu dishes separately elsewhere. Cucumber salad was also a miss - didn't have the crisp texture of what a cucumber salad should have. It was also warm, not refreshing. Ramen - meh, it was ok. As I mentioned in my prior review of this place, it's hard to compete with all the other solid ramen places around SD. Service was great, though. :)

Yelp
If you are a ramen lover, this is perfect place with so many different varieties of ramen, also have vegan options. All the ramens were so good and flavorful, they also have lunch combos which include ramen and choice of appetizers. Price is pretty decent and quantity is also good.

Yelp
Always great food! I always try something different here! Service is always excellent despite sometimes there is always 1 server, but she hustles and always has an upbeat attitude!

Yelp
Been going here for about 3 years and have visited dozens of times. By far the best ramen spot I've ever been to, and even heard from a friend who deployed to Japan that she prefers this restaurant over the ramen in Japan. Over all the times I've been there they have never missed. Not once. Even though I don't live in SD anymore I still crave this spot and will go out of my way to visit anytime I'm in the area. My go to is the Isshido Truffle Ramen and the Short Rib Steak Ramen. I usually pair it with the squid karaage and the pork gyoza. This place legitimately may be my favorite restaurant I've been to. The service is always nice and friendly. I genuinely cannot commend this place enough. This spot will always have a special place in my heart and my stomach. Anyone who loves ramen should give this place a try!

Prisciliano M.

Yelp
I came for 3 things. Chicken Karaage, Fried Gyoza, and Spicy Tonkatsu. Chicken Karagee was very well. Fried Gyoza was absolutely excellent. No spicy tonkatsu available, so I thought the spicy miso would "satisfy". The spicy miso made the entire dinner. Amazing flavors, lots of protein, great service, normal ambiance. 10/10

Yelp
Sooooo excuse the lack of pictures, just imagine in your taste buds how good the food is San images. We were greeted right away as we stepped in, and sat immediately. We were a party of 6, and our server immediately brought us iced water, it was also a hot day. Not sure what water they use, or if Mira Mesa just has good tap water but didn't have that yucky taste. We ordered some edemame and gyoza to start off. They were yummy, the gyoza was kinda pan fried? Not sure but the pieces were stuck together, like one big giant gioza, shad a good crisp and amazing savory flavor. Loads of different ramen bowls and everything was very good, the only reason I'm taking away a star, even though the flavor was really good and everyone savored their ramen, the protein was one of the smallest portions I've ever had at any ramen place, really good taste, just need a tad bit more meat. I had the miso ramen, the miso broth was perfection! Not overly hot that you can't eat it right away, just right and ready to dig in as soon as it hits the table! There was just one in our party that didn't have ramen and went for the karage bento, from the miso soup, the salad, rice and karage it was so perfectly put together. I snatched a bite of the karage and it was like heaven melted in my mouth. Hmmmm. Outside of that the restaurant is very clean and pleasant. Didn't have to wait long for our food to come out. Our server neatly packaged our left overs, and we were on our way. Very decently priced as well, great value!

Yelp
I placed an order to go and they were very quick. The ramen is delicious and authentic. I'm obsessed with the truffle ramen!

Yelp
I was very impressed with the menu. There was a wide variety of broths, noodles and options for adding toppings to your ramen, as well as many spice levels. The hostess/waitress was very friendly and helpful, and considering she was the only one on the floor she did great being attentive to all the guests. I ordered the spicy tan-tan, as this style is generally one of my favorites -- and they didn't disappoint. At the "very spicy" level I had plenty of heat, but not too much to be overpowering. The flavors came through strong, and the noodles (thin al-dente-ish) were really nice. I ordered chicken katsu with my ramen, and it was good, though a little different from what I'm used to. Not as crispy of a breading, and a lot of sauce on top... which had an interesting tangy citrus flavor to it. I also had a taste of my wife's spicy miso with pork chasu... it was really good as well. She got the thicker noodles that our server recommended, as she was quite pleased with them. Overall a great experience, tasty ramen, and plenty of heat. By the time we left the restaurant was packed, so definitely plan ahead and prepare for a bit of a wait if you come during peak meal times.

Yelp
I recently decided I wanted to start trying some of the "other" ramen places in San Diego. I've tried all the usual suspects (Menya, Taijima, Nishiki, Rakiraki, etc). I went to Isshido because it was close. Had the Black Garlic Tonkotsu and an order of their chicken wings. I asked for the upgrade to the house "thick noodle" for $1. The soup was very good. Flavorful, good texture, and their garlic oil went well with it. Chashu was fine, although VERY thinly sliced. If you're a fan of protein you might want to order more as an add-in. The egg was well cooked although a little bland. The only disappointing part was the noodles. Even though I had ordered the "thick" ones, they were still very thin and felt like standard store-bought egg noodles. Very similar (if not the same) as the ones they use at Santouka. The surprise of the meal was the chicken wings however. The are cooked to order (they will warn you it takes 15-20 mins) and come out super fresh and hot. The flavoring is like the popcorn chicken you might get at a Boba place (heavy on the salt and white pepper, which I love). Super delicious. I'd come back just for the wings. Service was polite, restaurant was clean. Overall beat my expectations based on what I had read, especially the wings. I'd come here over Taijima or Rakiraki any day.

Yelp
Wow, I dunno how someone can rate this place less than 5 starts. This place is underrated. It's funny because I've seen this place before but never thought to try it, then one of my friends recommended me to try it out. So I did today, we were like 6 people so we ordered many different appetizers and everything was so good! I ordered the short ribs ramen and it was amazing! Service was great! Food came out pretty fast. I really liked this place. I will come back many time for sure.
google avatar

Robyn L.

Yelp
We've been here twice and it was very good. This time we came for restaurant week, all ramen was 15% off and each order came with a free small appetizer. I had the Black Mayu tonkotsu ramen this time; the flavor was good and flavorful, but not as smoky as the black garlic ramen I've had at other places. The broth was also too salty. The regular tonkotsu ramen is also good, I like that the chashu is thinly sliced and not too fatty. There is usually lots of seating, quick service, and the prices seem slightly lower than other ramen restaurants in the area.
google avatar

Hanna L.

Yelp
I am surprised I didn't find out about this place sooner because I got to that plaza all the time for Hmart. We chose this place because the other restaurant that we originally plan had a huge waitlist and we put our name down to both to see which one we would get first. I'm glad that we got this because it was a pretty windy day so hot soup is always a go to. I got the takoyaki and the short ribs steak ramen for my meal. The takoyaki was okay, it felt like it was the ones that you get from the freezers because it was not as crunchy as I like it. The stuffing was more of the dough than the octopus so that was one Takoyaki that I would probably not get again. The ramen was the opposite because of how not oily and flavorful it was. I have never gotten a short rib in my ramen before so I wanted to try it and it works. The ribs was not marinated too much that it took away from the flavor of the soup but it was flavor enough that you can eat it by itself and still taste great.

Tina N.

Yelp
This is the second time I went with my family for Sunday supper. We love the fries with truffle oil and cheese. I liked my raimen and the bento options were great. Service was exceptional and friendly. I would go back again.
google avatar

Sung Hyun K.

Yelp
Black karage was fun to try, however, the fat to meat ratio was not enjoyable. It was almost half half between meat and fat on the plate. Do not recommend getting this. The garlic noodle was edible, but nothing special. Noodles were well cooked, meat over cooked, and the sauce was just heavy without an actual flavor to enjoy.
google avatar

L.A. G.

Yelp
Terrible ramen. Take a bowl of that nonsense to Japan for a wake up call. The spicy miso didn't taste like spicy miso at all. Who puts jalapeños in ramen? Who puts shredded lettuce and carrots in ramen? How is everyone giving this place 5 stars?
google avatar

Myles L.

Yelp
The food was alright. There is better ramen in San Diego. The servers did not check on us once and were surprisingly slow for being one of two tables in the restaurant. Lastly, here was some hair in my food that was not my hair color.
google avatar

Emily H.

Yelp
It's my first time trying Tori Paitan and I'm pleasantly surprised! I liked how creamy the broth was without the feeling of it being too greasy or fatty. Portion sizes were standard and I like how this bowl included a full egg instead of half. Their service was quick and they were able to accommodate 25 of us split between two tables! We were surprised that we didn't need to wait on a Sunday around noon! They offer both bar seating and many tables that can be combined for large groups like us. They're located in a big plaza with plenty of parking.
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
Okay ramen but so many other good places in the area. Located in a strip mall this place is easy to get to and usually doesn't have a huge wait. The ramen here is okay but nothing special. There are a decent variety of different ramen options. The noodles have a good consistency. The broth tastes cheap. If you can't find your way into one of the other ramen places this is an okay backup option. Honestly there are better places in the area.
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
Been here once before because my boyfriend likes the black garlic karrage that they serve. Its a cute ramen shop with nice Japanese decor. Ramen broth is okay and the two times that we have came the broth was always warm and not that hot. They do have a good variety of tapas which we always appreciate. But other than that it was mediocre. Service is very slow here, they take your order, give you food and leave you alone. If you need anything you'd have to flag someone down. Overall its pretty underwhelming the two times that I have now gone here I always don't feel good after eating here, but appetizers are good.
google avatar

Steve S.

Yelp
The pork Tonkatsu was Outstanding, we also had the Karage chicken which was also pretty good. The service was polite efficient and respectful,. We will definitely be making a return visit.

Yelp
Isshido Ramen offers an exceptional dining experience with their ramen, great ambiance and good customer service. I have a lot of things to say about their food but in this review, I want to focus on their chicken karaage. The chicken is incredibly tender and juicy, making it one of the best I've ever had. What sets it apart is the perfectly balanced sauce that complements the chicken, adding a burst of flavor with each bite. A pro-tip: don't forget to squeeze the lemon before indulging--it takes the dish to a whole new level. A must-try for any foodie! Thankful that I am able to get food from this place anytime since I work at the neighbor establishment.
google avatar

Zeeshan Q.

Yelp
Just reviewing some of their appetizers. Their pan fried gyoza were actually really tasty and paired well with the sauce. The black garlic Karaage looked really cool on the menu and was only a little more expensive than the normal ones, but they were pretty dry and to me the garlic coating didn't add too much to the flavor. Still made for some cool pics!

Yelp
We've been on a Ramen run recently!!! Must be the cold weather. Isshido Ramen has been in our neighborhood for a while now, and we finally went to check it out. It's in the Mira Mesa mall in the old "Quiznos" spot, a couple doors down from Chipotle. I drive by this location several times a week, and I have never seen a line waiting outside, but there is always a good number of people inside. We arrived about 8pm on a Tuesday evening, and as expected there was no wait. The staff was quick to get us seated and bring us water. Everyone we encountered was friendly and professional. Both my wife and I ordered the Ultimate Chashu Ramen. It was fantastic!!! The broth was a creamy tonkostu style soup. The top it with scallions and corn along with 8 pieces of pork belly chashu. Each ramen bowl was $19.95...which I thought was expensive, but when I compared it to other Ramen places, it is not to bad. It's about the average cost. I will say, the bowl was very filling. I might add more noodles next time, just because I had a lot of broth remaining and it was so good I didn't want to waste any of it. More noddles would have just added to my over eating!!! I can't believe I waited this long to check this place out. It will definitely be a place I frequent more often. No

Yelp
It may be that I wasn't very hungry when I tried it but I felt that their ramen was a little underwhelming. On first taste the soup tasted almost gamey? The more I drank the soup though the less I noticed that taste. It started to taste more rich & pleasant. So maybe the first taste was just a fluke. The egg was okay, wish it could've been a bit more marinated. The cha shu was a bit too torched for my taste. Some people might prefer the taste of char but I didn't like the slight bitterness it added to the meat. Overall the ramen was fine just not my favorite. The store itself is nice and spacious. During peak hours we were quickly able to get a seat which we really appreciated. The service was good and we got our food quickly.

Yelp
Top quality food, generous portion sizes, and sweetest staff member working the floor. The food was super flavorful and tender. Everything complimented well across the whole bento, and was way too much food so I ended up with plenty left over to take home. My husband's ramen was full bodied and filling. He was very excited to see thick noodles on the menu which he has missed since Tajima took them off of their menu. We will definitely be back as the menu is extensive and piqued my interest to try more.

Yelp
The beef ramen is amazing!! I absolutely love it. I highly recommend this place. The service was great too.

Yelp
Man. We literally just had the best meal here on Sunday and we eat A LOT of ramen. I have to say I've been kinda over it lately because I just haven't been into the broths in North County as they can be too watery. Even my favorite, Beshock just hasn't been hitting like it used to. But this? LAWD. This was so damn good and I was skeptical because ya know, YELP. Everything was just so phenomenal. The wait staff was kind and attentive to our party of 6 plus a baby. The food came out fairly quickly and was so delicious. Our friend got the okonomiyaki and even tho it was vegetarian, it was still delicious. We got the black garlic karaage which admittedly at first scared the shit outta me, but was damn delicious. By my favorite by far was the kimchi agedashi tofu. It was so hot and crispy and melted in your mouth. I'm always getting takoyaki so I needed a change and this was it. The ramen? Perfect. I love spicy and savory especially with the butter? Dead. Take me away. The pork? Luscious, fatty and generous portions. I'm coming back sooner rather than later.

Yelp
When we first visited Isshido Ramen way back on their soft opening date, we ran into a snafu as they were closed because of a private event. The lines were very long for lunch that day, and rumor had it that they ran out of food by the evening. Several weeks later, I returned and was glad I had waited for the initial surge of business to settle down. I was seated right away at the bar, and there was no wait for a table. The choices for my meal were the Takoyaki and the Truffle Shio Ramen with extra noodles. The service was prompt, and the food didn't take too long to be prepared. The octopus fritter balls came as six pieces with a healthy shaving of bonito flakes. They could have used a few more pieces of octopus in the filling though. The ramen noodles were on the thin side while the tonkotsu broth was creamy with truffle tare, butter mushrooms, grilled oyster mushrooms, seaweed, scallions, truffle oil and half of a soft boiled egg added. This combination was good, but I thought the bowl would have been sufficient without the truffle components. Based on my dining experience, I rated Isshido Ramen in the middle of the pack of all the ramen shops in the greater SD area.

Yelp
The soup was really tasty and the servers were really helpful. We ordered the black garlic chicken and takoyaki, they were both pretty delicious

Yelp
Found this place near a milk tea place and wanted to try it. Service was fast, ramen was really good. The Japanese kimchi was a bit on the sweet side and the cucumber salad was too spicy for me. At least the Tonkotsu ramen was very delicious and the noodles being thin made it an awesome choice. For sure would return when in the area.

Yelp
We love eating at this restaurant and my daughter especially loves it. It can get busy with only one server but she always does her best and shares a smile. The prices are reasonable. Go with their noodle recommendation for the type of ramen you ordered. We eat here at least once a month.

Yelp
Good ramen, not great. I think this place falls short of other places in terms of flavor profile and amount of food. I mean they only give half an egg now which is wild... Most places give a full egg. Still pretty good food though

Yelp
Parking: Located in a strip mall with plenty of available parking Ambience: Standard ramen place with plenty of seating. Have only been here twice for lunch, but it's been nearly empty every time. There were a good amount of take-out orders though Service: Standard, no complaints :) Taste: The truffle tare was a bit tough to chew, and the soup was a bit too oily and salty, but overall it tasted pretty good and definitely satisfied my ramen craving. Would recommend if you're in the area and don't want to wait!

Yelp
Okay happy hour with $1.00 chicken wing Karage style. Just be sure to order an appetizer or even a entre before you get 6/12 wings karage style! Sapporo Beer all day!!! So so so freaking gewd! Okay so, my homie and I got appetizers, he got this Japanese style pancake so crispy and soft in the middle has those Asian flavors that been a cultivated to make you go back for a second bite. I ordered the tuna (sorry) Tataki? Has wasabi and a sweet salty sauce that accentuates to level two. If you want level three spritz that lemon! They know what they are doing! After taking our time on this clean and welcoming environment, bathroom is spotless by the way, the reason we came arrived. The wings were fresh and crispy. I decided to wait for the wings to cool off a little. My friend said it was so hot and delicious. I took my first bite maybe five minutes later, and it was still hot! Hahaha. You know when you bite something and your mouth is open and you're making an open mouth heavy breathing technique. Yeah, I did that, only way to eat this well prepared happy hour dish. The. Spritz lemon on it and dip it in the sauce. I felt like a Shogun being served my last meal I was so happy. Come hungry and rest to spend about $35.00 for two cold glass of Sapporo, 6 karate wings, and tuna appetizer. You will be glad that you came, and if you're not, maybe you ate it when you were not that hungry? (Oh secret, clean your palate with water before taking a bite or sip!)

Yelp
Yilei C. Is an absolutely amazing employee. This establishment should be so grateful for her. We come get ramen about 3 times a month and everytime she is there, she does an amazing job. She's usually the only one waiting tables and bringing food and taking orders no matter how many people! I have no words to explain her effort and to make everyone have a great experience at Isshido! The short rib ramen is amazing and hits the spot everytime!

Yelp
Isshido Ramen has been open for 5years. When they first started, the quality was inconsistent, so we stopped coming for a while. This year, we tried them again and were pleasantly surprised! Their prices are lower than other ramen shops in Mira Mesa, and the taste is consistently great. We'll definitely be coming back regularly!

Yelp
This is my go-to ramen house since it is nearby. The ramen is very straight to the point. Broth was on point, but don't expect perfection each time. 9 out of 10 times, the broth and noodles tasted great. Had 1 experience where the noodles did taste old and the broth was flavorless, so don't get disappointed right away after trying one bowl. The service is on and off depending on who is working. The owner works fast and precisely, while one of the servers I had, forgot what I ordered. If you are looking for ramen, I believe this is the place to go to while not having really high expectations.
