"Right next to the Macy’s entrance at Bellevue Square Mall is a food stand that’ll save you when you can’t handle another mediocre salad from Earl’s. Istanbul Cuisine serves Turkish pide and gözleme made to-order on a griddle, and these flatbreads make for one of the best quick lunches in Bellevue. There are meat-based options like curry-rubbed chicken or ground lamb, but the spinach and feta gözleme is a standout, stuffed with lots of caramelized onions and melty mozzarella. Dip it in some minty yogurt sauce to cut through the richness." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley, gabe guarente

"Just outside Bellevue Square Mall, Istanbul Cuisine skirts the chaos inside and draws diners with its peppery cig kofte (a dumpling of rolled bulgur and spiced tomato paste) and tender hand-rolled yufka pastries. Occupying a 4-by-12-foot stall next to the Macy’s entrance off Bellevue Way, the one-or-two-person team rolls dough, griddles gözleme and pide, and fries peynir cheese-stuffed syrupy kunefe in front of onlookers. This Turkish street food spot offers a calmer dining experience than is normally found in downtown Bellevue; when the food is ready, walk across NE 4th Street to eat in the park. Istanbul Cuisine is open for takeout dining." - Brett Bankson, Eater Staff

Oh. My. Gawd. Their pide is to die for. It's by the mall entrance and hard to miss. They are so friendly and answered questions I had, as there were dishes (like pide) that I'd never tried before. I thought I'd get one slice but nope got a whole pie! My husband was like not interested, but after one bite ate half because it's just that good!

It's expensive but if it's between a $13 burger in the area, the top notch ingredients and fresh dough I'd do it again. Knafe is worth getting if you like the idea of eating a cheeseboard with honey and crackers.

I tried the beef pide after work and love it ! Perfect portion for me and flavorful without too heavy. The white sauce on the side tastes refreshing ! Come back next time !👍👍

It's a small place outside the Bellevue square mall. We absolutely loved their gozleme with the dip. It was very soft and the portion was worth it. The kunafa could have been a little bit more sweet but it was still really good.

We tried the Chicken Pide and the Beef Gozleme and both were really good. All meat options are Halal which is great. Good portion size for the price, so I will definitely go back.

Wow, what a delightful lunch. The walk-up kitchen serves hot, made-to-order traditional Turkish cuisine for takeaway with to the mall or at an outdoor table, where you can have a bite to eat while reading a book. Everything was delicious and perfectly prepared. We loved the pide, gozleme, and dolmas. The desserts looked amazing so we'll have to go back for them. This was a nice break from the usual mall food court fare.

First time at Istanbul Cuisine. Tried beef, spinach and potato gözlemes. Also tried lamp and beef pides. Everything was delicious. I see the reviews are varies based on the ‘filling’ inside the gozlemes not being enough or being just right. I thought I would share a photo of rolled all 3 gözleme types. As you can see the spinach is the ‘fullest’ due to it being filled with cheese AND spinach. I think ‘second fullest’ is beef since beef has more texture compared to potato. And the potato is being the ‘least fullest’ because it becomes mashed. My thought on the density of gozlemes. So I guess these are to consider if you care to choose your food based on just fullness.

The food’s delicious but pretty salty—definitely need a lot of water after. The lamb is more flavorful, while the beef is ground rather than chunks, making it a bit dry. I’d recommend the lamb pide.
