The Best Teriyaki in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"It’s hard to know what to make of Itadakimasu upon first glance. The exterior suggests mid-1960s Tokyo diner, while the inside channels a soulful jazz lounge. Just know that the teriyaki here is leveled up, served on a fancier plate than the typical affair, and with options ranging from crisp takoyaki balls to chicken katsu. Simplify your life, though, by ordering the crisply fried mochiko chicken and going home happy." - Joey Carreon

I’ve dined in twice now and oh my god. SO GOOD. I’m super picky with my food and unfortunately get full very easily and wow. Wow. Wow. I ate everything. Giant plate of beef fried rice for $13 AND comes with some of the best miso soup I’ve ever had. Shared with my S/O and filled us up. Everything is hand made down to the onions in the soup and made fresh. If you’re genuinely looking for a place to check out TRY THIS. They only have one person doing it all and we should give him some love. Genuinely so good guys.

Google
Food was alright. Service was not friendly at all. As the only customer at the time, I felt like the one guy working was inconvenienced by me. No greetings, no small talk and no thank you at the end of my meal. The food was alright. The chicken teriyaki was good, but the beef was a little dry. The salad was very small and so was the miso soup that came along with my teriyaki meal. Very lack luster experience for being the only customer in the entire place.

Google
Amazing food and an amazing vibe! Super vibrant Japanese painting and gives a very traditional feel. Go for the half sizes!!! $9 for basically a full meal! The owner was very welcoming to us and is a super hard worker running the front of house, orders, and cooking!

Google
We ate here around 6pm and it was completely empty. We were the only customers and there atmosphere was kind of weird, no music and only one employee in the restaurant. The food was pretty yummy though, the tempura was tasty and the chicken katsu was crispy. I got a side of fries that came in a generously large portion!

Good food in affordable price. I love the French fries.

A cozy place to get fantastic Japanese food -- the miso soup is essential

Google
It’s hard to believe this store has so much good reviews. I ordered from this store for the first time by takeout, when I arrived the wrong order was made, somehow the owner mistook Katsu as Teriyaki, and after he remade it, I was told that salad is not included, and I’ll need to buy it separately. Not to mention the food looked completely different from the picture, for the listed price of $12, only getting a few pieces of chicken and two spoons of rice is ridiculous. I ended up spending $2.5 to buy a salad, which turned out to be a few pieces of lettuce and three pieces of shredded carrots, and a few more were added at my request. The middle-aged man (who seemed to be owner) couldn’t communicate well in English, but he didn’t even try to be polite, I have never seen such a stingy owner. The picture is the picture I saw when I ordered, and there is no description saying "no salads/vegetables". I forgot to take pictures of the chicken and rice I got because I was too angry. The only plus was that the katsu and sauce tasted pretty good.

Google
A quiet and cozy spot for a good bite to eat. We went to get pickup and the staff was really warm and welcoming. The place was really clean and the food was really well priced for the portion sizes. I also felt like there was quite a lot of care taken to ensure the ingredients were fresh and cooked to perfection. The food we ordered wasn't the most fancy, but it still managed to surprise me in just how well everything came together. Simple elegance.

Yelp
The gentlemen who work here make a very nice experience. So humble and a relaxing restaurant and the price is unbeatable for how good the food tastes. The teriyaki combos with choice of 2 sides are very good. Wish I could eat here all the time.

Yelp
The picture on the website showed the bulgolgi with carrots and zucchini. Turns out it doesn't come with any of that. Also they don't have spoons to eat the miso soup.

Sommer H.

Yelp
They always have great food at great prices. Can't go wrong with their takeout, which is quicker than the other restaurants in the area.

Yelp
I don't know how this place was empty when we walked in, but for one man to make all this food .. round of applause . I got egg rolls * smashed * couldn't even take a picture cause that's how good it was. I ordered teriyaki and rice & sesame chicken ... my mouth was watering looking at it, soon as took that first bite .. lord I knew it was so so good.. didn't realize I ordered so much food but I workout a lot so this is good for me! Best Asian restaurant I've had in a long time. 10/10.

Yelp
The portion size was decent but the chicken was hard and dry. The flavor was a bit underwhelming. The sauce lacked that rich, slightly smoky depth that makes great teriyaki stand out.

Yelp
Underrated and hidden gem of a place! Super affordable and definitely a bang for your buck! Came on a monday around 12pm and there was barely anyone. Only 1 worker but he came out with our food super fast! Me and friend got the Monday Lunch Special: Chicken and Gyoza Combo (which gives you Teriyaki Chicken, 5 pieces of fried gyoza, and 2 sides for ONLY $11) THATS CRAZY!! From the sides you can pick between: White rice, brown rice, salad, french fries, or miso soup. I got white rice and salad, my friend got brown rice and french fries. The owner (I assume) gave us separate checks to me and my friend without even asking which was amazing. Usually you'd have to ask for split checks or just venmo each other but the person automatically placed 2 separate checks for me and my friend :') Our bill came out to $12.13 EACH with tax and however much more depending on what you tip. Honestly if I lived nearby, I would frequent here often! Super worth the price!!

Yelp
Please read first Ok only reason this place is getting a 3 stars and not a 4 or 5 is because besides the delicious food the gentleman with the earpiece is serving Attitude! Don't know if he is the owner or just a worker but Dmn he was on one. So I ordered right when they opened and he might have been flustered but he even got more upset when I asked for some condiments. Ok let's talk food! You actually get two sides with each order and honestly for the price point it's a great deal! Rice 5 out of 5 believe it or not many places these days cannot make white rice anymore Chicken teriyaki 4 out of 5 good quality meat just needs more flavor Fries 5 out 5 Side salad dressing is good 4 out of 5 Chicken thigh breaded 4 out of 5..actually a bit sweet Attitude 0 out of 10! Lol

Yelp
One man show when I stopped by as an out-of-towner looking for a decent meal. Get the Mochiko chicken and use the sauce on the table. You can skip the Bulgogi as it was nothing special.

Yelp
A cute little shop tucked away on the edge of the Ave! Went there for dinner on a cold day and it was really nice. The loco moco and chicken Katsu was very good and the miso soup was very warming. I think the pricing is pretty reasonable too.
google avatar

Yelp
The teriyaki here was good and for a fair price, which is so rare these days. I was looking for something a little outside my usual teriyaki joints and realized I had passed by here many times over the years without ever stepping in. Called in my order, the guy was a bit funny to communicate with didn't even take my name but it was all correct when I got there. The rice was actually exceptional, in that it was actually cooked and stored correctly. Weirdly rare for teriyaki places recently. The chicken was standard chicken teriyaki. The salad was slightly above average. Overall good meal for a good price!

Yelp
From the outside, itadakimasu reminds me of a low-key bar. When walking in you'll get the feel of a dive bar - it's dimly lit with plastic covered booths and a bar. Inside there's only one person working - he takes orders (both dine in and togo), busses, serves, and cooks. I ordered the chicken breast teriyaki plate which comes with two sides you can pick (brown/white rice, fries, miso soup, or salad). The chicken was good quality and the teriyaki sauce was okay (it was more salty than anything). There was a slight layer of oil that separated from the sauce but overall not bad. The fries weren't heavily salted and came as a nice side. Overall, the meal was just okay. It can be a little bit of a wait since there's only one person working.

Yelp
Itadakimasu is an efficient little eatery, with food at 3 to 4 stars, rounded up to 4 stars for cost and portion. Modest and simple in its approach and menu, their success is reasonable food at generous portions and low cost. For a university area restaurant, it's not bad. We arrived at 5:30 or so. They were already inundated with take-out orders and walk-ins for pickups; we were informed of a 45 min wait, to which we agreed. When it passed the 45 min mark, the wait staff offered us a free side - miso soup, salad, etc. The Food: Chicken Katsu and Gyoza combo special for the day, $11 - 4 Stars The chicken katsu is flavorfully seasoned with a good katsu sauce. The chicken itself is relatively thin, but just thick enough for the chew and texture. It comes with 2 sides, choosing between white/brown rice, soup, salad, French fries. This was good enough that we decided to get 2 more orders to take home. Beef Teriyaki and Tempura combo, $11 - 3 Stars Comes with two sides. The flavor of the beef teriyaki is pretty good, though the meat pieces are somewhat thin. The tempura is a huge no-no though. Just get a normal beef teriyaki instead, skip the tempura. Veggie Stir-fry, add prawns, add tofu, $13 - 3 Stars Comes with two sides. The flavor of the sauce is pretty good though a tad salty. The added prawns are too cooked. The added tofu has the same ultra-thick coating as the tempura. Ask for non-fried tofu or don't order the tofu. There's an adjacent parking lot, but I suspect it's for Cedars only. We parked on the street instead.

Yelp
You'd be hard-pressed to notice this place if you were walking in the area, but don't you dare miss out on trying what might very well be the best teriyaki spot in Seattle. The owner will often run the whole place on his own and unbelievably well, and he rightfully keeps his teriyaki recipe secret. But if you love teriyaki you have to try this place which takes teriyaki up a notch in a way I haven't seen anywhere else come even close yet in Seattle or elsewhere honestly. Juicy smoky chicken whether it's breast or thigh, and the teriyaki sauce is the perfect viscocity (sticks to the chicken but not that thick). Even the miso soup and rice are expertly made. If you're looking for parking it's a bit tough, I'd recommend the parking lot on the same street next to cedar restaurant where the parking is free earlier in the day but it can be a bit tough to get in and out of, but hey, we're used to that up in Seattle.

Yelp
Used to go here all the time when I lived in the UD, now that I live on the Eastside I stop here whenever I have to go into Seattle. Why? Because it's awesome, that's why. The food is tasty (I'm particularly a fan of the chicken and beef teriyaki - ask him to make it spicy - and the rice is so good I just get it for both sides. The bulgogi and sweet and sour chicken are also honorable mentions.) There's always just one dude doing all the orders and cooking but the food always comes out in a timely fashion anyways. (Long ago, the place used to have a full-service bar and DJ and other employees, but it's been pared down to this for years now). However, it is what a teriyaki joint should be - comfy and spacious enough. Plus, the portion sizes will leave you enough for a lunch the next day and the prices are insanely cheap in this day and age. I left here the other day paying just under $40 for two people - that was an entrée and extra side apiece and there was enough left over for dinner. Craziness.
google avatar

Wendi K.

Yelp
We came by to grab some bites at a casual spot. It was sort of hard to find. Poke ($10) was nicely seasoned and salty. Takoyaki ($6) came out searing hot out of the fryer - I also found it quite bland, it definitely could have used more sauce. Spam misubi ($3) was average, had a thin piece of spam - I prefer more caramelization/sauce. The mochiko chicken ($8) was the biggest disappointment- dry and flavorless with a slightly sweet aftertaste. It didn't come with any dipping sauce. Maybe it's more worth it to have an actual meal here as I wasn't very impressed by the small plates.
google avatar

Marcus L.

Yelp
INSANELY WORTH THE PRICE. Dishes that you'd see elsewhere in Seattle for over $20 are correctly priced at half that. And it TASTES BETTER TOO. Service was DECENT, and so was the ambiance. This restaurant shines in its value for your money. Lots of great options as well (including cheap side menu items and alcohol too!!) Are you near the U-District and want good Asian food on a student budget? LOOK NO FURTHER!!!
google avatar

Kylie K.

Yelp
I went here all the time when I lived in the UD for university. Quick, no fuss place. Was able to get two meals out of the portion sizes which was great for a college student on a budget.
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
Tasty food, big portions, and friendly staff -- what more could one ask for? I ordered the chicken teriyaki with brown rice and salad. Super tasty and the portions were huge. I got my food to-go and everything was packaged nicely. My friend got the mochiko chicken and loved it as well. We went on a Saturday night and there was no wait and our food arrived quickly. The staff was really nice and let us sit at an empty table while awaiting our takeout. Will definitely be coming back!
google avatar

Parker W.

Yelp
Amazing food and portion sizes for the price! Parking is a little tough, but that shouldn't take away from here. When my group of 7 went in for lunch on a Saturday, it wasn't too busy, but there was one man (assuming the owner) running the kitchen/serving. Ordered the spam musubi and the katsu + gyoza special (came with 2 sides as well)!
google avatar

Louise F.

Yelp
A but easy to miss but it'd be tragic if you did. Went on a Saturday night and imo there should be 10x as many people there were. It's well kept, well decorated, and the food and prices were fantastic. The teriyaki was tender and juicy, the tempura was light and so flavorful in the sauce, there was SO much rice, and there's something about the salad dressing at teriyaki places that are always just so light but flavorful and yummy. It looked like there was just one man keeping the entire operation alive. He was busy in the kitchen when we got there, took our order, cooked it, served it, and everything in between. So much for 1 person! Makes me really appreciate everything that goes into running a restaurant.

Yelp
First place we were able to dine-in! @itadakimasu_seattle in UW is serving delicious meals at a very reasonable price and great portions! A block off from the Ave, Itadakimasu was nestled behind where Safeway was. They had blocked off several tables to create physical distancing and you can see them wipe the menus between customers. The interior was dark and felt kind of clubby...? I guess its a great option for university students to hang out and chill with friends while enjoying a filling meal. (Pre-covid) Both meals cost $11 each and is enough to feed 2 per dish. We ordered the Loco Moco (recommended by other Yelpers) and the chicken katsu. We were stuffed to the max and still had left over for dinner that night. Want more bang for your buck? Come to Itadakimasu. They have a great collection of Japanese, Polynesian and Korea cuisine. There is something for everyone and you'll either leave very full or with leftovers.

Yelp
I was in the mood of Japanese food but wasn't really craving ramen, so the next best thing is curry. So what do I do? I open up Yelp and look around to see what I wanted to try! This restaurant came up and saw that they had curry and katsu! It's like the best of both worlds combined. The interior inside is beautiful with nice art work on the walls. The parking of this place is street parking. I didn't find a dedicated parking lot for this place. There isn't much street parking so you might need to circle around or park else where. There is a Safeway across the street with its own dedicated parking lot, I wouldn't recommend parking there since you have a chance of getting your car towed. So when you order, you have an option of sides which range from French fries, rice, miso soup, etc. I chose the Miso Soup for my Chicken Katsu and Curry. I also requested the curry to be split so my Katsu wouldn't get soggy. The miso soup came out quickly and it was great. Full of flavor. When the Chicken Katsu and Curry came out, the portion size was huge! I was thinking to myself that if you come here, you're guaranteed to be full. There was enough rice to match the curry. So here's the downfall, the flavor of the curry and Katsu is bland. The Katsu was just deep fried with not much of a taste to it. It wasn't salty or have a savory taste. There is salt on the table but it's just not the same of marinating your meat and then deep frying it. The curry itself looked great, but the taste was lacking as well. The food just tasted off compared to the Miso soup. Overall, this is a good place if you're hungry since the portion sizes are huge. Taste wise, it's missing to me. Also, when I dined in, there was basically no service, due to COVID, perfectly understandable.
google avatar

Leslene C.

Yelp
Huge portions, one order can feed 2 people. Closest to Asian food as you can get. Had the tempura and it was not dripping with oil, chicken karaage was amazing, chicken tonkatsu was just like home.
google avatar

Barry L.

Yelp
Chicken was old and dry. No flavor very poor quality the gyoza wast much better dry dry dry
google avatar

Huong L.

Yelp
We decided to get dinner here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Price was very good for what you get and service is good too. We were originally going to order a half order of the loco moco with a side salad but the lady told us to get the full order and it will be the same price for more food, so that was awesome of her. We got: Mochiko chicken - if this was fresh, it would have been decent, the flavor was there, just not as crispy. Also some pieces were small and some were big so a bit of an inconsistent there Loco moco with brown rice: this came with 2 huge beef patties and a lot of gravy. I love the Brown rice here, it's not dry like most places and works really well with the loco moco. The the beef patties were thick but still juicy and the flavor was pretty good. Overall, a solid dish. It's budget friendly sona good place for college student for sure.

Yelp
My favorite teriyaki in Seattle! Great food and drinks all around but the absolute best teriyaki in UDistrict. Great portions too. Must try.

Yelp
hole in the wall type of restaurant. we were greeted by who we think was the owner. he was by myself and running the whole restaurant - didn't speak much but we appreciated his hospitality. the place was empty (random tuesday night) but i'm sure when it's busy, it would feel like a lot more intimate setting. i could definitely see myself hanging out here w friends or alone. food was delicious. fresh, crispy, and filling. best part - it was v affordable!!
google avatar

Tai D.

Yelp
Great value for food! I got the katsu because I was really carving some and I was not disappointed! It's kinda like a "no frills" style menu, which was just what I was looking for. There's a bit of construction going on across the street but don't let that deter you!

Gina K.

Yelp
It was so good at first I thought I wasn't going to like it but omg it was the best food I had tasted in a long time I thought the food was amazing the service was fine but I still had the best time!
google avatar

Yelp
The best chicken teriyaki ever!! Great service, great food, great prices! The flavor is so good and I get this like every other week!
google avatar

Alberto O.

Yelp
Food is amazing, without a doubt one of my favorite locations to stop at when in Seattle. I had some chicken teriyaki and some amazing gyoza. I loved every bit of it. Matched it up with some soju and had a wonderful dinner on my own. 10/10 would recommend and definitely will be coming back again
google avatar

Astro C.

Yelp
Cheap teriyaki place for UW students on the ave. The interior looks like bar and kind of dark and dank. The teriyaki I ordered wasn't particularly good and very standard (saucy, salty, sweet). Service was fast and good.
google avatar

Ardo K.

Yelp
Good enough place to get some Korean food. I was after their Gal-Bi. Unfortunately though, the time we came here, there was only 1 person manning everything. It's insane. Like, the guy was serving the table, taking orders, he even cooked in the kitchen. What even was going on??? Anyway, the food came out pretty great. Nothing to complain other than the slow service (obviously, only 1 guy running around).

Max P.

Yelp
Solid Japanese/asian comfort food at a very cheap price. Seems to be currently a bit unknown, hopefully that will change
google avatar

Yelp
Been here twice. He loves this place due to the huge portions and low prices. Menu is a bit limited though. Their entrees come with a choice of side of either salad, miso soup, white/brown rice. I've tried their Loco Moco that came with 2 hamburger patties, two fried eggs with gravy over rice and 1 choice of side. I've also tried their combo of chicken teriyaki and tempura. Hubby loves the beef teriyaki, he always ordered that or the beef-chicken combo. It was a lot of food! Everytime we come here, we need to get a doggybag for our leftovers. Service is really good, friendly and attentive. Food always come out real fast. My only gripe is the lack of ventilation or some kind. If someone in the restaurant orders a meat dish which is served in a sizzling hot plate, the whole restaurant starts to smell of smoke, then also the smell sticks to my hair and clothing which is my big pet peeves. Parking is street and there's a meter maybe next time we'll try Safeway parking per other reviews.
google avatar

Valerie W.

Yelp
An unassuming place to stay the least. Full bar and some cheap teriyaki. Can't complain though. Staff is friendly. Meals for the most part are quite inexpensive and the portions are huge. Like more than enough for two people huge. I ordered chicken breast teriyaki for $12 and have been eating it for three days. The food itself is so-so but again I've only had the chicken and katsu. Your meal comes with two sides unless you order the small portion. The salad was tasty with the miso dressing. Will Dey be back to try some other options. Both the yakisoba and beef looked great! You really can't beat it for the price. I'd recommend to anyone looking for some quick cheap eats.
google avatar

Jada H.

Yelp
Came here on a Monday afternoon and nobody was here which made me sad because this place is actually really good!! The prices are *actually* reasonable compared to the other places on the ave and you don't have to sacrifice food quality/taste. The vibe is pretty good and the service was quick. 10/10 recommend- wish it was further down the ave so more students would come around!

Yelp
Whelp, this place was delicious! Cody and I were in U District area Friday night and looking for somewhere to eat. Cody came up with this place via Yelp, and I am always down to try new places! He told me the cuisine it was listed under, Korean Japanese Hawaiian, and it intrigued me! We found parking easily on the street, and it located right across from Safeway! We ordered: - Kalbi Short Rib full size $20 (comes with 2 sides, I got rice and salad) - Katsu Gyoza Special $11 (2 sides French Fries and miso soup) - takoyaki Well this place has everything I love! I also love Hawaiian/Japanese Fusion, and I felt like this place suited that bill! I loved the Kalbi, the full size was a huge portion, Cody ate some of it. They also had a 1/2 order option. I tried the katsu, and that was tasty as well. This place was packed by mid meal! Definitely seems like a local fave of people. Will definitely be back!

Ziyan B.

Yelp
The teriyaki chicken was amazing, so did the brown rice. For some reason, their brown rice was soft and tasty, unlike other places where the brown rice tend to be dry. I went during lunch with a friend and she got curry. She said that the curry was great. I will definitely go back for the teriyaki again. Admittedly there are many teriyaki places in the U district. I have tried many of them, and this one is among one the the best.

Yelp
TLDR: huge proportions! Don't over order! Try the fries. Check out that nice bar! It's so neat and tidy. Atmosphere: echoey and feels like a cafeteria. Not overly busy (at least when we visited on a hot Saturday). Relaxing tunes in the background. Service: be seated and a server will take your order. Sides come out first. Entrees come shortly after. Check brought to table. Half Order Chicken Katsu: oh man! SO glad I got the half order. The proportions are HUGE! The server said the the chicken Katsu entree is usually shared between two people. I'm glad I got the half order--I could barely finish it! The chicken was slightly chewy but there was more meat than breading which is a plus. French Fries: lightly salted and sprinkled with nori flakes. Soft on the inside and lightly crisp on the outside. I like the fact that they are not overly grease-soaked. They come piping hot! The bowl may look small but trust me, you need to share in order to have room for the other part of your meal. Loco Moco: the burger is so tender and juicy! Nice flavor and not too salty. Eggs are super soft and runny--mix them in with the gravy and rice! Miso Soup: slightly watered down in flavor compared to most places. Green onions were fresh and crisp at least. Side Salad: consists of carrots and ice burg lettuce. The lettuce was room temperature so it wasn't as "refreshingly crisp" as I had anticipated. The dressing has a nice sweetness and a tang to it. There's also a hint of pepper.

Yelp
- Hidden gem! - Food: 4 stars Price: 4 stars Service: 3 stars Ambiance: 3 stars Overall: 3.5 stars Food: 4 stars My friend ordered kalbi and I ordered mochiko chicken. The food were delicious and the side salad was flavorful. To be honest these two dishes are probably safe dishes as it's hard to go wrong with fried food or grilled food :p. Price: 4 stars The portions are huge! My mochiko chicken was $12 (before tax) with 2 sides, and kalbi was a bit pricy.. $20 (before tax). However, both of us didn't finish our food and we packed 1/2 of our food home. Oh yea, the side salad has a huge portion too, not just a small bowl of salad like most restaurant offers. Service: 4 stars The waitress was polite, refilled water promptly, and didn't bother me after i told her i will wait for my friend to order food. Ambiance: 3 stars The ambiance is laid back, but it's darker than most restaurants. The restaurant has a bar next to it, and the front of the restaurant seems a bit shady (which is probably why I've never stepped in there in the past 3-4 years LOL)! Overall: 3.75 stars I'd definitely visit again! I love their huge portion and the fact that brown rice doesn't cost extra! Now only if there's a fast transit between bellevue and u-district...

Yelp
I really like this place after trying there food for the first time. They are a mix Asian fusion cuisine. I came here on a weekday afternoon. The time was just right not busy at all. You can get the food within 15 minutes. The server was really friendly, give us a lot of advice on what there specialty are on the menu. At the end I decided to order beef friend with a side of Miso soup. I was craving for fried rice that day so I have to order it. The food came out less then 10 minutes, hot and fresh. The beef fried rice I ordered was pretty decent, but the one my friend ordered was the "mochicksa chicken". OMG!!! I fell in love with it when his dish was brought out. It was a huge portion too. After I give try, it was so good I actually regret not getting that. Overall I give this place a 5 because the service was friendly, the food is great, and also the prices is just right for the college students budgets. It is a great location opened right around the University of Washington.

Yelp
I was really surprised at how generous the portions were and at such a reasonable price. I ordered the chicken katsu combo with brown rice, gyoza, and miso soup. The food came out pretty fast and everything was tasty. Also, the server was friendly and made us feel welcomed. Definitely recommend visiting if you're looking for something that's price friendly and will keep your tummy satisfied.

Yelp
Portions are good, decent pricing, half plates available and friendly. The appetizers were great but we did want a little more flavor from the mochiko and spicy chicken.

Yelp
mmm mmm mmm. Delicious! I actually happened upon this place while riding my bike to a boba place i wanted to try. It came across as a hole in the wall for me because of its discreet presence, like i couldnt tell it was a place to eat until i smelled all this sweet bbq-y smokey passing by it. I busted a fat U-ie. Its dark inside when you are looking from the outside (maybe the time too, that golden hour) and they have reflectors on the windows...anywhooo, i had to go across the street to see the name and look it up. Had great reviews on here and yeah, expectations exceeded. I like that the menu is only one page. I was so hungry too! So glad i found this place, I ALMOST didnt get the kalbi (i was thinking about getting their deep fried chicken plate but something said "nah get that kalbi dawg!") --i also rarely ever see places that offer kalbi and rice at a price I can afford. It was the perfect portion size too. Perfectly cooked, sweet glaze, well balanced, had some pink in it, just enough fat. It felt like I was eating exactly what I had smelled and imagined passing by it. Only one other table there too, a tuesday, the wait time for food was totally reasonable. I walked up to pay, I got a chance to thank the chef too because it was so good! Definitely coming back. On my bike too because there's a lot of construction going on there and the parking situation didnt look too nice.

Yelp
Nice place for some delicious, cheap mochiko chicken!! The service was extremely quick & everything tasted fresh & delicious. Definitely recommend the mochiko chicken! I do have to knock off one star for the spam musubi though. The rice & sauce were perfection, but the spam could have been cooked better .

Yelp
I live near the university district and today was my first time trying their food. I came here because of all the great reviews. :) I placed a take out order on the phone. The girl who answered was a little short, but acceptable customer service. When I arrived, it was more of a quick transaction. No hello, just here's your food. So I don't know if I would dine in the future but I would definitely do a takeout order again! Their sweet and sour chicken is so unique and delicious! It wasn't like every other restaurant where it's like of soggy and wet. It's felt like it was more of a crispy garlic chicken with a tangy flavor. So good, and I'd definitely come back in the future.

Yelp
Hands down the best teriyaki in town!!! Seriously! Quick and friendly service and oh so good! There's a construction zone across the street from them right now but they're open and serving the best teriyaki around. I never miss a chance to eat here when I'm in the area....
