*sigh
I was so excited about this place. We actually even detoured from the place we were headed-to; I am an East-coast girl at heart still, so diners are very nostalgic for me and generally are reliable for a decent meal. This place is coasting by on it's history but it's overpriced mediocracy, at best. So, so disappointing. Disappointing doesn't even cover it, actually. There is nothing worse than looking forward to a great meal out, checking out the options, selecting a place and committing to it, and then the food arrives and either at first glance or taste you know you're already disappointed and it's already too late. And you have to pay for that. The restaurant has shabby-chic look, without the chic. Look - it's fine to hold onto that 'original' retro look, I actually love it when places stay more true to their distinctive original vibe, but faded and dirt-embedded isn't a vibe.
Service was not the worst, definitely not the best; many mistakes were made.
It was the food though, the food, that made me want to cry. Awful just doesn't and can't fully encompass how terrible it was, from the drinks to the food, all of it. Flavorless, colorless, soulless, worthless. Please don't go here, you'll be sad too. It'll be so sad all around. We've been to a lot of food places, a. lot; we agree this is and remains the worst meal we've ever had, ever.
