It’s survived all the economic cycles of Reno and is still standing tall. The kids love this pizza and parents do too! The crust is perfectly light and fluffy. I find the college aged staff to be exceptionally nice and welcoming which is not common in today’s dining landscape.

Got a sausage pepperoni pizza.... domino's tastes better. Used to like this place. Tomatoes paste for sauce, raw pepperoni, and 8 little sausage balls on extra large. Really has fast food pizza flavor.

We love going to JJ's when we are in Reno. Get the JJ's Special. It's the best! Casual environment. Excellent pizza (I like their dough because it's not sweet..just a normal yummy crust).

JJ’s has been around for as long as I can remember… we used to have our little league post game pizza parties (ie parents have earned those beers!) back when I was in elementary school! They’ve changed little in the operation, and for good reason! If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! The pizzas have always been delicious, I think it may be they they introduced me to my first Hawaiian pizza… a deeply polarizing fare of which I stand firmly on the side if truth, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness - provided that happiness includes Canadian bacon and canned pineapples. Probably the most unique feature and unmistakably delicious yet totally out of left field anachronistic pizza choice (that is until you’ve tried it!) is the serving of a side of honey - yes, the one and the same liquid bee magical elixir - and which seasoned customers will know and do school the non-initiated into utilizing… is meant for you to use at the END of the ingesting of a delicious slice of JJ’s Pie, wherein one takes the crust and dips it into the honey and those last few bites of scrumptious baked pizza dough suddenly becomes the dessert you never knew you needed so badly and just at that specific moment… Tuesday's are a buy one 16” pizza and get a 10” pizza for free! If interested in renting out the back room for your group event say a Little League team baseball post game parental inebriation party… Be sure to hit them up on their website or give them a call to inquire about it’s availability. Otherwise just go and get some damn fine pizza, tasty wings or even a hot sub sandwich… don’t worry, anything and everything there is sure to be delicious! Finally found it!!! The best pizza ever. The dough is always fresh. The staff is amazing. Our go to place for pizza and wings.

Friends had raved about this place. When we went, it was so noisy and overcrowded, we went down the street to another restaurant. Subsequently, my roommate is very familiar with this place, and after hearing about our experience, she ordered a takeout pizza, a couple of days later. It was, just okay... She was also disappointed in what we received. I won't be going back, or ordering takeout, anytime soon.

Went in to grab a pizza for some friends for lunch and had a wonderful experience. Amazing customer service all around - both from the owner and the man helping him out (abdan?). You can tell when a manager or owner cares about their business and patrons and that energy really shines through here. No wonder this place has been in business for so long. Well done guys and thank you, I'll be back.

First time here, ordering on the phone and picking up was easy. Very helpful inside and I thought the pizza was pretty darn good. And the unique honey offered for your crust. Down star for the price and parking lot was tough leaving. Will park elsewhere next time but will be back!

JJ's has been an amazing family staple for years! It is the best pizza in downtown Reno and a great family vibe. Service is always amazing and consistent!

Came here for a birthday gathering before a UNR game. Never heard of the place but it was pretty busy and had a nice, casual feel. Lots of old posters put up all over the walls and ceiling. Small parking lot but street parking available too. Our friends ordered pepperoni and cheese pizzas plus wings and soft drinks. The drinks are just self serve with a soda machine. Really enjoyed their pizza with their tasty cheese and sauce. It had a thin pie bottom with a very thick crust. Their wings were good with lots of extra sauce. Didn't feel rushed and our group got to enjoy the good, company and even watch some football.

Quick update to my previous reviews, JJ's is great as usual, but on my latest trip I noticed a banner that you can now call ahead to reserve a table. What a game changer! SO happy to have the option if you are worried about it being too crowded or not getting a table. Wanted to mention it as it was the first I've heard about it.

So disappointing the JJ's I knew, I Loved. Sent the pizza back twice due to soggy crust.not a lot of flavor. The fries and onion rings got cold fast. Just not up to Par. Server was Friendly. However overpriced for the food not being up to par

When I want a classic pizza, this is my go to spot. They have been in Reno forever and there's a reason why. I love the taste of their pizza crust-- and you can't go wrong with a classic pepperoni and Canadian bacon pizza. Great spot to watch a game on tv and have some pizza. It definitely has a local, UNR vibe! The staff is always nice! Go check out their pizza... and save the crust. Try the crust with honey, you can thank me later!

The fried zuchinni was delicious. Service super friendly. Don't forget to ask for honey with the pizza crust!

Mozzarella Sticks, Wings, Pizza and Beer..... That's what was on the menu. I wanted to try a new pizza place and yelp helped me find this hidden gem. I was a little nervous as it is close to downtown and with the zombie crawl going on, I thought that they'd be a LOT busier. They weren't! A couple different gentlemen helped us place our order and retrieve our items. They were sure to hook it up with alllll the ranch needed. I feel like the inside of the building looks like your typical Friday or Saturday night bar, but the fact that they serve pizza too.... Makes it even better. It was a great deal and we will definitely be back!

We love JJs. A Reno staple. Always consistent and delicious. Can't go wrong with the pepperoni, Hawaiian, or JJs special.

JJ's is a fun UNR hangout. It is not in walking distance of the campus but it is a quick drive. Lot's of Wolf Pack support here. Pizza is their specialty, but wings are good as well. Lunch time is quite. This an ideal lunch stop if looking for good pizza and quite. Nights will pick up and so will noise. We have frequent here more times then I can count and though no longer living in the area, we make it a point to stop by when in town. Thank you JJ's for the memories and making new ones for our kids.

I went here last night. The workers are very nice, but it was very slow. The entire back room was taken, so our party sat in the front. They were very busy. My small pizza was just under $20. I was able to customize it though. It taste like homemade pizza.

While in the Reno area for Hot August Nights, my wife and I decided to give J.J.'s Pie Company a try. We walked from Virginia Street to the place. It was a bit longer walk than we anticipated but not too bad. Upon arrival on a Friday night at around 8:30 PM, the place was still fairly busy. All of the seating in the front area is bar chair height at the bar and eating tables. We ordered at the counter, as there did not appear to be table service. We ordered a half J.J.'s Special, which included pepperoni, salami, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, and bell peppers; and half Meat Lovers, which included pepperoni, sausage, salami, and linguica. We also ordered a small side salad to split. The salad was ready fairly quickly. They call you to come pick your order up at the counter. The salad was very basic but not bad at all. The pizza was ready after approximately 25 minutes. The crust was on the thicker side, which we tend to like. There were ample toppings, although no sausage that I could find on the meat side and very minimal amount on the special side. The pizza tasted great and really hit the spot. We took half of the pizza home to enjoy another night. The place stayed busy even after we left with people enjoying both the bar and food. We agreed we would try J.J.'s Pie Co again when we were in the area. Enjoy!

We stopped into JJ's Pie Co. for lunch a couple weeks ago because we were craving a really good classic pizza. JJ's did not disappoint! It was quick to order and we found a picnic table to sit at in the back room. The front room had TVs in it for people interested in watching any sports game that is playing. We ordered a couple beers along with a large JJ's Special Pizza and an order of the fried zucchini. The fried zucchini came out pretty quick for us to enjoy while the pizza was still being prepared. The zucchini was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside without getting soggy. It paired perfectly with our cold beers! The pizza was really good and got rave reviews from our full group - it was fresh and filling with a slightly crispy crust. We would definitely come back again for the pizza and the friend zucchini too!

The wings were very good, the staff was helpful and nice. They clean and check tables often. The pizza still has a great bread style dough, but the sauce and cheese wasn't hitting any notes. On this visit toppings were only spread in the middle, missing the edges by a good 4 to 6 inches. I didn't notice until I reviewed the overhead photo after the meal. Teach the pie makers to s p r e a d ALL the toppings evenly, to the edges, every time; that is pizza 102.

A pizza place at its finest. Great pizza, service, drinks and televisions to watch whatever you want. They deliver all this with fantastic prices, none of that Covid inflated ones. No matter what oizza you get, it will be delicious.

"Could've been better" is the exact description of this place. Teeny boppers running the kitchen and under age adults at the register. The environment felt dirty and old. I had heard good things about JJ's and we were craving pizza on a cold night after a river walk and we happened to be in the hood. Pizza Collective was closed on a Monday so we made do. The pizza took forever to come out to us. We ended up having a slice each, taking it home, and doctoring it up to the max. Not worth it in my opinion. I'm sure JJ's has been around forever but some things really should change.

Came in for lunch today and the manager took care of me. I had a meatball sandwich and the balls were meticulous. Best balls in town. Perfect in shape and just enough sauce, melted perfectly in my mouth. I left here really wanting seconds. I will definitely be back.

I love this pizza place. It's a Reno institution and has so much tradition. It was packed tonight but we got seats at the bar and Simon gave us the best service! We had a delicious veggie pizza and they have so many great options. Love their fries, chicken strips and wings. I choose local businesses anytime over chains. If you haven't been here before you need to try it.

This was my first time at JJs and it definitely exceeded my expectations, the pizza was great. I got a split veggie and Baja and they were even down the middle. Connor was especially helpful with picking what beer on tap was the best. I was also impressed by the wait staff for being attentive and also having to deal with a disgruntled customer how was unsatisfied with the shape of meat in their sandwich. Props to JJs.

Great pizza, and perhaps even greater chicken tenders. Love the "old tavern" ambiance. All employees are excellent; owner Jason took time to chat with the wife and me, entertaining fellow, exercising excellent control of his business.

The meat ball sub here is a farce. It looks more like a marinara meatloaf sandwich. After receiving my sandwich and me being unhappy with the look of it. I was told I could not get a refund. The manager was a total DB about the sandwich. The prices are to high as well. JJ's shame on you!

Incredibly consistent exceptional pizza. We've been dining regularly since it opened. Service is efficient, effective and prompt. At J . J .s your family. Not just a number. We love the Ferrari Carano Fume/Sauvignon Blanc that pairs well with all of their pizza. Funky college vibe, always busy and spotlessly clean.

Located within local dive bar. Decent pizza. Crust was good and pizza was flavorful. We got the meat lovers.

It's my first time back in Reno after about 4 years and this was the first stop on my list. I was obsessed with this place in college. It's still, hands down, my favorite pizza. Their house made ranch is unmatched. Highly recommend!!

Ordered four pizzas from JJ's website to be delivered at 6pm. Per the website the pizza was ready at 530 but wasn't picked up until 600. The pizza was delivered around 620 by a DoorDash driver. Because of the delay and late delivery, the pizzas were not hot, barely warm. The pizzas were just ok. Thick crust, ok flavor, and medium to light amount of toppings. Only one of the four pizzas, meat lovers, had a decent amount of toppings. The other three had below par amount of toppings. Definetely not worth the $175 I spent.

For awhile now, I've wanted to order JJ's wings and tonight I finally did. Along with the wings, ranch dressing and garlic toast was supposed to be included. I placed an order online and when I went to get it, happily it was ready to pick up. BUT, when I got home, I found that the garlic toast had been left out which was very disappointing. I called the store to register a complaint and I got a guy (didn't get his name) on the phone. Through a poor phone connection he convinced me he didn't give a rat's butt that I had had a problem. He NEVER said: "I'm sorry for our mistake" or "Let me give you a discount to make it better". Instead, when I told him I was disappointed he responded " OK, you got it". Shortly after I called back to give JJ's a heads-up that I was really upset with their response and would be posting a negative review on Yelp. The woman on the phone - the same person who had helped me at the pickup counter- couldn't have been nicer and was very sorry for my bad experience. A missing slice of garlic toast is by no means a reason to post a negative review-it happens in retail foodservice. But the man I first spoke to seemed to be thinking: "Wow, this job would be SO much better if I didn't have to deal with annoying customers" That's what really caused me to post this negative review. Despite Monday Night football being on, the restaurant was not particularly crowded, so being crazy busy can't be blamed. Overall I've had a positive impression of JJ's and I'm sincerely hoping that my post helps their business down the road. By the way, the wings were good..

Best pizza (the Valdez is our fave!) Get the honey to dip the ample crust in. The wings are fantastic also. The Nitro will light you UP! Been eating here for 30 years for a reason!!

Normally this place is 5 stars for me but tonight not so much. We came into JJs sat down n guy says could I help u? We ask for menus, he hands us one. Doesn't offer even a drink. We order two jj subs (our favorite) n he rings it up and hands us the bill.. 21.50 he says. We ask for water n the. When the food came out he asks are we ready to cash out... Wow ..really? Worst customer service I've seen...

Excellent pizza pies, attentive wait staff, and good music. Toppings were plentiful and varied. Inspired pizza combinations and good, fresh salad that compliment the pies. We'll be returning. Thanks for the service.

I love this place. We have eaten here for over 25 years. Arguably, they have the best pizza in town, but God knows you will PAY FOR IT. Today, we went for the wings. We called in to get 18 wings for take-out, which was $27.00 before tax. That is over $1.50 per wing. WTF. Seriously, you can get a whole rotisserie chicken from Raleys for $8.99 (It was $5.99 before covid), and they want $30 for 18 wings. Now add in the 20% that is expected for a tip, and you are out over $35.00. IMO that is a total ripoff and I'm done. Peace and Love to you JJ's Pie Co. Or should I say RIP.

I was craving a good pizza and I got my fix! Stopped by jj's this week and ordered the jj's special! Definitely not your average combo pizza! It was Loaded with salami, pepperoni, sausage, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes which were nonetheless fresh ingredients and a wonderful taste in every bite. I ordered a size of hot wings which were pretty average, as I like mine more on the crispier side before being tossed. My items came with complimentary sides of ranch and everything met my needs.

This is a Reno staple; been around for-ev-er. Great locals' spot, hidden away from Reno visitors and vacationing folks. Straight forward wings, fries, pizza, and beer. Sports on every screen, good old fashioned arcade games, and no fluff. It's just exactly what it presents itself as-a chill hangout- very much relaxed, affordable and eclectic.

I'll definitely be ordering pizza again. I liked how easy it was to order online, how their estimated time for delivery was accurate, and the pizza was good. From someone who hates ordering over the phone, thank you for having an online system set up!

JJ's is a Reno staple. I'm sure every local has their favorite pie. For me it's the Baja minus the chorizo. I've been going to JJ's for years- and while the draft beer selection and video games might change, the beer is always cold and the pizza is always consistent and delicious. Bring back pinball!!

Great little place to watch the game and have a beer while you wait for your pizza. It was an awesome pizza! I know now why they've been in business so long. I wish they did have a thin crust, but still love the pizza.

Amazing like always. Went during HAN when Im sure they are extremely busy, which they were. They were rocking it, we got the last table by the bar. Ordered pizza a few beers and litterally 20 minutes later we had our food Bartender was on top of it as well, quick and on the orders We love this place, parking can be tricky on a normal day even but we tend to street park and walk if needed Love love love this place

Service is great and everyone is always very friendly and welcoming. This place is a Reno staple which is why it pains me to say it will be quite a while until I return. Without going into details, I will share there are some cleanliness issues that need to be addressed sooner than later. Unfortunately, I lost my appetite and was even unable to finish my drink. Every other time we have been in there the food and service have always been spot on.

The best pizza in town, plain and simple. We always order the Valdez and the Baja and wings extra crispy and hot with a pitcher of Widmer. The service is great, they are fast and friendly. That's why it's our Sunday tradition to eat here after soccer almost every week.

I visit Reno often and stumbled upon this place... Great local vibe, unique pizza that tasted great. The wings weren't over sauced so we enjoyed them very much. When I'm craving pizza I will want one of 3 things. Cheap n fast (chain delivery), trendy and upscale (ya know with arugula and balsamic drizzle), or classic pizza parlor (pitchers of beer and Ms Pac-Man). All are suitable options. It really depends on my mood. J.J,'s Pie Company hits the latter of the options. Good Ole classic Reno pizza parlor. Bikini clad beer posters on the ceiling. Video poker at the bar. Ms Pac-Man in the corner. A crackle PA system to announce your food is ready. Paper plates, pitchers of beer, lots of noise, softball team in the back, and simply great food. We love their veggie pizza. Something about whole veggie slices instead of a dice. It's covered with peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, and olives. I love their crust. It's a perfect chew for me. Has a handle that perfect for eating and dipping in sauce of your choice. They have all the fried foods you would expect to see. We've tried many over the years. I love a cheddar popper! This time we were crazing salad vibes so went for their large salad that has the whole kitchen on it. The J.J. Salad. Amazing. The bartenders were slammed but still kept an active eye on us. It is a whole experience. I love this place with all my artichoke heart.

LOOK AT IT!! Take all that pepperoni goodness in! I know I am! To whomever made this beautiful creation of a pie, your soul is beautiful! I asked for extra pepperoni, and what do you know, they put the amount I dream of when I think "extra". I mean look at it! I'm always ordering my pies from jj's and you should to! Stopped in for lunch on Saturday and as usual it did not disappoint! Pizza and wings were simply wonderful and this has been our fav pizza spot since college. They have upgraded the tables and menu display. A must visit spot.

We've been going here for many years. This would have to be your hole in the wall restaurant. The pizza here is really good and you won't be disappointed. This isn't the cleanest looking place, but the food is really good. So I'm basing my review based on the food. We ordered half and half large pizza. Half Meat Lovers and half Hawaiian. They put a lot of meat and everything about the pizza is flavorful! I feel like everything is homemade and they take pride on their food. Don't forget to ask for the honey. The honey is for the crust! We also ordered the onion rings. It was perfectly cooked. The batter had so much flavor and it was really crispy, and not overcooked. If you're looking for some really good pizza, try this place out.

Combo pizza delicious. Buffalo wings just as good. They offer honey for pizza but I just couldn't accept. Staff were friendly and welcoming Nothing bad or exciting to say about ambiance because I was there to eat pizza, drink a few beers and watch college football. I recommend this place !!
