We took a visit here this weekend to celebrate a friends birthday. The staff was excellent. The person who organized the party didn't make reservations and everyone showed up so it was a bit of a cluster to find seating. But that was 100% on our group and not the staff. They were super accommodating, patient, and friendly. And they made it work.
I had a couple of gin based drinks. I started with the Invisible Gin: Midwestern Dry Gin, apricot, pineapple, lemon, ginger soda. This was super tasty, light, and a great spring/summer cocktail.
My second cocktail was the Break Maiden: Midwestern Dry Gin, passion fruit,
blood orange ginger shrub, dry cider. This was amazing. It was so fresh and bright. They sell it to go and I was really tempted.
I was able to snag a sip of the Shift Kicker: KC Whiskey, sherry blend, lemon, fresh berries. That wasn't my favorite, it was very sherry heavy, so I was glad I didn't order that one.
We also ordered the pork rinds to snack on. They're topped with aleppo chile and lime. There were delicious. Warm. Crispy. Lovely spice and flavor from the Chile and lime. I would definitely get these again.
They do also have a ginormous pretzel that's covered in cheese. It looks a bit like a cinnamon roll. I was able to try a bite of a friends and again, I was glad I didn't order it. The idea is fun but the execution just doesn't work. I'm sure they use a ton of lye and then have to bake the crap out of it to get it done because it's so large. This results in an overly chewy and burnt pretzel that's then covered up in cheese making virtually impossible to cut with a knife and fork. You shouldn't have to struggle cutting a soft pretzel or even have to cut it in the first place. It's one of those gimmicky things that people probably get once and then that's it.
The lounge itself is super nice with lots of comfortable seating, games, and even a few tvs. Make sure to slide down the giant slide. It's fun for all ages. Let your inner child loose.
