We visited Jack & Ginger's for the second year in a row to enjoy their St. Patrick's Day festivities. We enjoyed seating on the open patio, we had a great server, and enjoyed some amazing food. It was wonderful to see their patio was dog friendly, and even families enjoying themselves. We ordered their Fish & Chips meal, I was not disappointed. The cod piece was massive and paired well with the lemon tartar sauce. Thank goodness we decided to share the two items between us, otherwise it would have been way too much!!

Me and a couple of friends stopped in for a quick round of drinks and our bartender Connor didn’t disappoint! All of them were yummy and strong. Seems like a cool place to grab food and drinks when visiting the Domain.

Google
Large bar that serves barbecue and is open late, I think it’s till two in the morning. Parking is not super convenient, but it’s OK. The staff is friendly and helpful, and there is usually a lot of seating. The bar is usually pretty crowded, as is the outdoor bar.

This place was so fun! We came here for happy hour and we’re impressed to find $6 beer flights. I really enjoyed the local beer options. Great price and service. There was a lot of outdoor seating which was nice on a pretty day.

We love to come here for Bingo on Wednesday nights at 9:00pm. The atmosphere is electric, crowds are a tad crazy (it's pretty loud inside) and the bingo is free to play! The drinks are fairly priced compared to other places in the domain, but the service is exceptional, every time we come our waitress has been expeditious and helpful. We highly recommend the mac and cheese and the buffalo chicken!

Google
Very friendly and kind staff. This WAS the “Smokey Roll Up” with brisket. It was so good it didn’t make it to the photo. Must have! Super flavorful food cooked right. You’ll be pleasantly surprised. Must order. Good for one person or to share. Comes with 2 rolls

Jack & Ginger’s at The Domain is the perfect spot to kick off the night! The vibe is spacious and chill, great for catching up with friends, watching a soccer game, or just setting the mood before hitting the club. Drinks? Huge! Service? Pretty good! Food? Meh… not really my thing. But if you’re looking for a fun pregame spot with a cool atmosphere, this is the place to be!

Me and some girlfriends came in recently for the first time and had a great experience. Our bartender was Jared and just as we sat down he walked up to greet us and take our drink order. Since it was our first time we didn’t know what to try so he asked us a couple of questions about what kind of drinks we usually get or like. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. We ended up trying his recommendations and OMG they were so good. Some of the best service I’ve ever had out of all the bars and restaurants I’ve been to. The quick service, hospitality and his delicious cocktails all made my experience so memorable. I think my friends and I have found our new favorite spot. Just hope Jared is working the next time we stop by!

Yelp
Surprisingly decent! We came on a Tuesday night and it wasn't busy, I doubt people were offing food from the kitchen at 10:30 at night but we put in our order and the food was very freshly made. Kitchen closed at 11 but bar closed at 2am which was great. They have a large selection of beers and all the liquor options. For food: it was good, definitely food I would come for when I want to have a drink and some bites. It was hot and fresh and the flavors were on par.

Yelp
Double check your drink if you order a non alcoholic beer. The server may get you a regular beer even if you ask for a non alcoholic beer that is present on their menu. It doesn't seem like the servers understand that non alcoholic beer exists. I specifically mentioned that I'm looking for a non alcoholic beer. And I asked for the Lagunitas IPNA, which is the non alcoholic version and it's on their menu. However, I was given regular Lagunitas and the reasoning was that it was the only Lagunitas that was available. It seemed like the server had difficulty comprehending that a patron may request for a non alcoholic beer, and a regular beer is not an appropriate replacement for a non alcoholic beer. So I just went to the bar and got the Lagunitas IPNA.

Yelp
I watched a guy steal a bartenders tip and security escorted the man who called the guy out instead of the thief. Felt bad for the bartender and the bystander. Edit: overheard they let the thief stay because he was a regular and wouldn't check the cameras.

Yelp
Beer was cold, large selection. Guinness however, and the Guinness pour were laughably bad. But people smoking AT the bar on the patio side killed it for me. Finished my beer and left without eating. I haven't sat next to smokers or had smelly ashtrays at my elbow for almost 20 years in Austin, and I'm not going back to that.

Yelp
I 100% would not recommend this bar to anyone. I visited last night with some friends just to find a $140 charge on my account the next morning. All I had was an order of fries and I closed out my tab before we left, everyone else payed individually as well. I've tried contacting them multiple times to ask why this has happened, but they have not answered any of my calls. This is beyond sketchy activity and they should be ashamed how they treat customers.

Yelp
Good service, delicious food, a bit loud for my liking, but still really enjoy this place.

Yelp
I came here for a work related company event. So I had plenty of time to read through the majority of the reviews before I arrived and some things really stood out. On the positive side, they have a very good beer selection (I counted over 50 taps on the wall) and a large outdoor patio featuring 7 flat screens. However, where they really start to lose their stars is with the large number of yelpers who were not at all happy with the service and the food served was sub par. You also may wish to check your tab closely before you leave. One oddity that stood out, was the fact that there was not a single "ownership reply" to any review in eight years. In other words, it appears the management is not at all concerned with all of the negative reviews which could lead to some positive changes. If you're coming here for a company event, I hate to break it to you, but they do not have any separate private party rooms. On the other hand there are some sectioned off areas for larger groups to sit at (first come...) and plenty of seating overall inside and out. Instead of all of us getting separate meals, we just went through a litany of their appetizers which were between the disappointing 2 to 3 star range. They look better than they taste and 1000 island dressing seems to be a favorite ingredient. To add to the lackluster, they give you the smallest sampler plates to use which fill up with unwanted leftovers in no time and just 1 paper napkin. Service was decent, but the dirty plates continued to pile up around us and did not go away until we did. To sum it up, come for the beer and commaraderie, but there are A LOT better dining places within a short walk of this place. Check out the photos with the comments below.

Yelp
I stopped by while waiting to meet someone. It was a pretty cool place to hang out. There were lots of TVs playing various sporting events. There is noth indoor and outdoor seating. As far as food, I was on a liquid plant based diet at the time. The beer was cold, and there were over 20 different options. The next time you are in the Domain area with a few extra minutes, stop by Jack and Gingers for a cold one!
google avatar

Ken D.

Yelp
A great spot at the domain, ample indoor and outdoor (covered) seating. Service was fast and friendly. Food had nice proportions, tasty bar food. Drinks were pretty stiff, everything was reasonably priced. Go hang out for a bit, be wild, be chill... whatever.

Yelp
I came in for a beer after being in the shopping center, and though it was busy for the football games, I found a seat at the inside bar. I was greeted immediately and grabbed a McConauhaze. I didn't have any food, but the beer selection is incredible. The bar staff was awesome, funny, attentive. Makes a good spot to catch the games or grab a drink w friends.

Yelp
Spar has surprisingly good music, like R&B hip-hop the hits. They also had good drinks hence, all the blurry pictures. Came here with some coworkers after a team dinner and had a great time! I love the lights and the transparent floor. Bathroom is pretty clean for a bar. If you drove the parking garage is not too far. The service isn't bad either we were served almost immediately And supplied another round as soon as the drinks were gone. I drink here again.

Yelp
We went Saturday 03/23/24 for a late lunch and sat outside. For some reason the draft beer I had wasn't very cold. Service from two of the three bartenders was great but one spent time talking with the regulars and didn't pay much attention to how she made her drinks. I ordered a michelada after the draft beee came out not cold and she literally put 2 ounces of lime juice in it. No thanks! Food was your average bar food. Too many other spots in town to try before we go back.

Yelp
Been enjoying going to this bar lately on Tuesdays to play chess :) they were kind enough to allow our chess meetups to come here. The bar is beautiful inside, incredibly ornate and vividly green as you would expect from an Irish pub. People seem nice, I just your normal run of the mill people I guess lol. The prices for the beer is so good for this part of town. Usually only spend 6 dollars on beers which is honestly really good since it's just the average price usually. I tried some of their fries one time and liked it also, maybe next Tuesday I will try out some of their food here ‍

Yelp
Great spot for some soccer watching! Go USA! Very large tap selection, decent food options.it's a sports bar number one. Overall, it's a fun time. Inside and outside bar options, pleasant and easy going staff. You won't go wrong coming here during your rock rose hoping around adventures. Grab an Irish car bomb for the win.

Yelp
This is only my second time to visit. We went over Halloween weekend and many of the staff members had dressed up and even done some clever things. One bartender was Satan, her friend and waitress was dressed in green with Lettuce written across the front and return to Devil if found as she was the Devils Lettuce! Shana likes this place and the staff is usually friendly and fun. There seemed to be a bit of tension between a barback that was talking to us and one of the bartenders but otherwise it was fun. We tried some different drinks and alcohol while sitting at the bar. We also think about playing darts but it is always busy and there are not enough. I mean a non pub in Punch Bowl Social has more. (This is Shana writing) So Jack and Ginger's is the sort of bar that speaks to me. There is a ton of seating and the decor is heavy on wood and privacy. It's the sort of bar that has a ton of nooks and crannies and dark corners, but not in a sketchy way. I hope that makes sense. Also in the middle of the big, main room, they have a transparent glass floor through which you can see all the whiskey casks they keep down below. Fun! It is a nice bar to just hang out in. Sports on TV. Tables to sit and talk. Not for people who like to be active, play bar games, or dance but a nice bar nonetheless.

Yelp
Jack & Gingers continues to be one of our absolute favorite places to go, and it never disappoints! Whether we're looking to watch the games, do some people-watching, or simply hang out before a night out, this spot is always a go-to choice. During our recent visit, we ordered their pretzel and loaded fries, and as always, they were incredibly delicious. The pretzel had the perfect balance of softness and chewiness, making it a delightful appetizer. And the loaded fries? They were pure indulgence! Topped with a generous amount of flavorful toppings, every bite was a burst of savory goodness. What makes Jack & Gingers even better is their fantastic staff. They are always friendly, attentive, and welcoming.

Yelp
Looking for a great burger! This is your spot. Great place to get a burger and grab a cold one on a hot summer day.

Amy C.

Yelp
Went in for lunch on Saturday with our 13 year old son. Waitress was very very nice but this is definitely not a kid friendly place even during the day. The music that was playing was absolutely filthy. After a few of these songs we asked the waitress if they could play something a little bit cleaner they did. Buy why in the world you would think that's appropriate for a restaurant in the middle of the day baffles me. Like previous comments I don't think this place is managed really well. Food was ok and beer selection good but don't think we would go back.

Yelp
Stopped by for fried pickles and wings. Expectations were low since it's your average bar food. The menu is diverse enough to accommodate most people, so that's a plus, but is it worth coming here for an actual meal? Probably not. Don't expect anything above mediocre, at best. Service is very lax - you seat yourself and someone will bring you a menu, take your order, and bring a check. Overall, I wouldn't ever voluntarily choose to eat here or anything, but I can see the appeal for the 5pm post-work happy hour or drinks and a quick snack. Food ratings: - Wings (3/5): Decent sized wings, but the honey bourbon sauce we chose tasted like basic BBQ sauce - nothing special. And they put way too much sauce, so it wasn't the most pleasant. But they weren't horrible. - Fried pickles (2/5): I liked the longer cut, but it was also tricky to eat since the pickle would slide out from the breading on the first bite. Breading was good. Pickle slices could have been thicker - might have helped with biting into them. - Fish & chips (3/5): The batter wasn't bad but it needed to be crispier, it was basically a thick tortilla-like texture. Fries were not good. Kind of starchy and just not great. Green beans were good, but you would hope they didn't mess those up, as they were pretty simple.

Yelp
Went here for St Patrick's day and had a very good time. The food was decent, had fish and chips along with a pretzel. For a bar food" it was decent.

Yelp
This is a nice, casual place to meet with friends for a drink and appetizer. It has been a while since I've been and I popped by it yesterday and it was bustling! This is one of the best places to watch a game with friends. Lots of fun energy! They have a location in Houston too that I've been to more. Jack & Gingers never disappoints. Great staff!
google avatar

Yelp
Jack & Gingers in the Domain is the perfect place to watch the World Cup! I went there 4 years ago for an England match and knew I had to go back. The place was packed but so fun watching a US match. I wish they had scored though. Jack & Gingers is open for every World Cup game, so great!
google avatar

Jack J.

Yelp
Jack & Gingers in the Domain is my go-to for a quick drink and catching the game on their dog-friendly patio. The ideal location allows me to unwind while my wife enjoys salon and shopping activities nearby. As a busy weight-loss and aesthetic surgeon, having this local spot to relax after a busy day at work is priceless.
google avatar

Sara J.

Yelp
I love when they have live music. We've enjoyed Castaneda band and more recently The JamsATX. Yummy cocktails and tons of beer on tap. Casual environment.
google avatar

Amanda F.

Yelp
My husband and I sat out on the patio area for a few drinks. The drink selection on tap includes both beers and ciders. I think there were five or six different types of ciders on tap and which is unusual at normal bars but appreciated since I can't drink beer due to a barley allergy. We didn't have any food but we did see a big Irish breakfast that looked amazing. Not sure how someone could eat that out on the patio area when it was still close to 100 degrees but each their own. Our bartender was nice and friendly. Overall a solid place to grab a drink or two.
google avatar

Colleen B.

Yelp
Had a great time here. The staff was super friendly and really cool to chat with. I only sat at the bar so I can't comment on the food, but the atmosphere was fun and inviting.

Yelp
Going to get straight to the point. Went in on Friday night since we had family in Milwaukee in town (ive been going to Jack and Gingers on and off for years now) well as me and my brother were conversing with them in the inside bar, a bartender (i believe by the name of Sharon) snatched the dos xx's bottle out of my brothers hand extremely rudely and yelled "WHERE DID YOU GET THIS!? WHERE DID YOU GET THIS WE DONT SELL BOTTLES OF DOS HERE!?" Completely dumbfounded, we were all shocked. Then a bartender next to her told her they actually got in some bottles of dos just for the night. She tried to apologize but the damage was done. She was so rude and who treats anyone like that, in a bar no less. She went on to yell about us to the rest of the staff and management. I do want to thank Max (the manager that night) for de-escalating the situation. He was goin through the cameras and i explained what happened and our side of the story. He was very nice and calm, complete opposite of Sharon, if thats her name. I went back later that night to get receipts for mine and my brothers tabs. Good thing i did cause i just checked my account and i was charged 22 dollars for my single lonestar lol. As someone who spent 10 years in the service industry, i can only guess what happened. I will be contacting management with my receipts and my brother to make sure his numbers look okay too.

Yelp
Great vibe and good bar food! Service was a little slow but our waitress was so sweet. Loved the chicken tenders I got and very reasonably priced for the amount we got. Loved the outdoor seating area and all the Ireland decor!

Yelp
Went for a late lunch today and decided to eat on the patio. When we first arrived the misters were on and felt great. They turned off and it got a little warm. Our server was part of a family of servers we learned from the youngest server. She was the older sister that helped with our order. She recommended a beer my wider really enjoyed. Our food was very well prepared and was on point. My wife was overheating after we ate and we were trying to find our server who seemed to be on a break. We literally waited 15 minutes before going inside to see if we could fine her. It appears like she had 2 tables inside and must of lost track of us outside. All in all it was a great lunch and we would have loved to give it 5 stars but paying should not be the hardest part of going out to lunch.
google avatar

Laure H.

Yelp
Love their new little picnic tables by the street. It's usually sooo loud inside the bar area/on their patio so this is the happy middle ground and don't have to scream to hear your friend speak. I've honestly never tried their food because I'm usually not in the mood for dive bar food, but can speak to how great their variety of beers is. My personal favorite is the victory sour monkey.
google avatar

Denise C.

Yelp
Meh. It's the typical "Irish" establishment I always have higher hopes for only to be disappointed. Their frozen drink dispenser was frozen which should have been put out of order and into defrost. Instead, the bartenders were scooping the drink out of the top, dirty glass inserted and all. Bathrooms were disgusting. And I saw the last next to me consume an Irish carbomb by pouring the shot into the Guinness and sipping slowly. I'm not Irish and I almost cried.
google avatar

Heather B.

Yelp
We really enjoy coming here. There's a terrific beer selection, a lot of different seating options, and a fun glass floor.  There are a lot good food choices here.  The pretzel is massive, fish & chips crispy and flaky, and classic burger always cooked to specification.  The fried pickles have a great batter and the Guinness brownie is thick and chewy and comes with creamy ice cream. Service is generally spot on, and they have done well when I've come in with a group.
google avatar

Anelle V.

Yelp
Swung by this place just to have a drink which was delicious. The set up here is pretty cool. Lots of beer on tap. But the fried pickles were really disappointing, very thin pickle slices covered in thick breading. On another note, the ranch served with the pickles was tasty. Service was moderate.

Chris D.

Yelp
Been waiting to check this place out for awhile. Bad choice to check out on St Patrick's Day. It was $20 a person just to enter the "inside area." Once at Jack and Gingers, the place was packed (expected that). Finally a couple was leaving and offered us the table. The food was a limited menu ( not mentioned online) and average at best. The worst part, loud rap music playing, really. I was hoping for traditional Irish music. Not even any Irish music on the live stages. This place boasts being a pub, really. Well, that's Austin for ya. Lastly, green beer, God in heaven NO! You have all the greats on tap don't serve green beer. I might go back and give them another chance but think I will stay north where I know that there is a full menu and a correct environment for a Pub!
google avatar

Chelsea E.

Yelp
Very average place to grab food or a drink. I was in Austin for work and my flight got canceled, so I was here another night. I stayed at the Westin across the street so started wandering around the area for a place to eat. I chose Jack & Gingers because the beer selection looked really robust. Service here is bare minimum. You're greeted, drink order, handed your drink, place food order, food given, checked on once, then ask for your check and you're out. I personally feel like they could be a bit more personable. I wasn't the biggest fan of the beer I ordered. I can't remember what it was called, but it was a blonde ale. I ordered the fish & chips and enjoyed it. It's actually a really big portion size and comes with green beans. I doubt I'd come back here given there are other options in the area. But it may have a more livelier vibe on weekends. Plus fish & chips is good so take note during the Lenten season...
google avatar

Shannon G.

Yelp
I have come here several times and I've never been disappointed. The food is good and the drinks are good. My bartender was Shannon this day, and she was super chill and cool. She made me a the red head drink and I was not disappointed

Yelp
My fiancé and I came in for a late dinner, and it started off pretty well. Our waiter was really nice, and our pretzel was tasty! My fiancés Irish breakfast was flavorful and great, but my chicken sandwich had the texture of rubber boots and was extremely bland. The Mac and cheese was also very unremarkable which is very rare for me. Probably won't come back again.
google avatar

Andrew W.

Yelp
We went here for dinner and some drinks for my friends bachelor party! The service was above average. Especially Joelle, she was very friendly snd engaging. The food was not the best. I had the chicken sandwich and it was good not great. Two of my friends had the black bean burger and they both said it was very good. However, two other people got the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries and both of them said that it was underwhelming. If someone suggested this restaurant to meet up I would go back but I might choose to try another restaurant before going back here.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this Irish pub. The wait staff was very friendly and efficient. Just the perfect about of time to check in us and make sure all was well. The place was very clean. The food was very good. I loved the garlic green beans, could easily of been the best part of the meal (if you like veggies... as I do). The fish was tender and seemed fresh. Came with my favorite kind of fries... thick steak fries. The pretzel was warm and very good, was the same as a perfect old fashion European pretzel. The fried pickle slices were very enjoyable as well. I absolutely loved the Redhead In Bed drink, a new favorite for sure. The Bonkers Grapefruit Cucumber drink was a relaxing refreshing drink. I do recommend this Irish Pub. I am giving it a 4 star only because it is like so many other pubs I have had the pleasure of visit.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! I love watching FC austin play here on every TV including the big screen! The customer service is always great, they never miss a beat when dinning in or stopping for a drink! They have your basic but creative bar food which is a plus and a great variety of drinks! Overal I love a good sports bar!

Arturo G.

Yelp
I have been several times for different occasions. Wednesday night for simple dinner and a beer. Saturday evening for a couple of beers with the boys. Over all. This is a great vibe and a great place to catch up with the lads and drink couple pints. The only thing this place is lacking is the service. I only know one girl that consistently gives good service. Every other girl I've seen doesn't do a very good job. Over all I like the place and the vibe, service could be better.

Zack G.

Yelp
Always amazing having Lydia as our waitress. She's very attentive and friendly. Great service!!

Yelp
Every year, on March 17th, Jack & Ginger's hosts an epic St. Paddy's Day Festival that is unlike any other! With a dance off, live music, and 82 beers on tap; you'll feel like you're visiting Ireland instead of Austin. If you're visiting on a non-Irish holiday, don't worry, this is still a wonderful Irish pub to check out! When you walk in, the floor is made of glass and you can see into their cellar. Additionally, it has a huge pet-friendly patio space, and 82 beers on tap. This isn't always my vibe, because it tends to get pretty packed, which is why we have 4 stars instead of 5.

Maddie R.

Yelp
Great happy hour deal: $12 for a giant pretzel with beer cheese and a pint. The pretzel and cheese was so yummy and they gave a large selection of beers as well. It's a good, casual place to meet with your friends too. The service on the other hand was not as good. The server for our table was kind but the people tending the bar were inattentive and kind of rude.

Yelp
Jack and Gingers is a great restaurant to grab a bite to eat and for some live music. I went on a Friday night while the World Series is going on and they have plenty of TVs for the game. I got their Black Bean & Barley Burger, wings, and their fries. Their food was great and they have a great bar as well. Plenty of heaters to dine outside during the cooler months and plenty of seating as well. They also offer some brunch items as well, I plant to go back and try some other items on the menu.

Ordered a nice cold cider and traditional fish and chips. Generous portions. Batter fell off fish that was flavorful, but difficult to eat as the meat was a bit mushy, not firm. Fries were crisp when hot with soft insides that had the texture of a mashed potato. Quality declined as they cooled. Fish and chips were probably frozen not fresh. Cole slaw had zero flavor. Service was ok. Fairly empty at lunchtime for Sunday NFL playoff games. Should have been a tipoff that this was Not the place I was seeking, Obiwan. Very limited screens for games on tv at a sports bar. Nice place. Clean restrooms. Too many options in the Domain that offer superior food and entertainment. Once is enough for me.

Yelp
Hello! This was my second time coming and I honestly came back to this bar because the first time we had an amazing waitress! I'm not a fan of negative reviews. I love to rant and rave about a place that deserves the accolades. But this is important to express. When walked in we went straight to the patio. It was not busy today AT ALL. We were greeted as we came in and found a table. The table we sat at was still dirty. Anywho, after about 5 min realizing there's no waitress, I finally go over to bar. Now keep in mind, it's not busy at all. I find myself waiting for a min at the bar and not even being acknowledged. Finally a sweet young woman came over - she had short brown hair and an oversized sweater on. She asked me politely what I would like to drink and then proceeded to take care of us. I unfortunately spilled my friends drink instantly when I walked over to the table. So I came back to the bar. The man behind the bar didn't acknowledge I was standing there patiently waiting to let them know we needed a new drink til after 7 minutes. The gentleman next to me noticed and even was looking at the guy bartender trying to catch his eye. Mind you, he was just standing in front of his computer, not making drinks. He finally comes over with a smug on his face, I let him know exactly what the drink was -- Malibu, pineapple, little grenadine shaken and he rudely tells me "Oh I don't know." He then walks all the way over to grab the girl who took care of us prior and she once again came over politely to take care of me. So thank you! There was a group of 5 of us & we instantly left when we finished our drinks. We definitely would've stayed and spent more money if we had felt welcomed. Customer service should always be first and it definitely starts with great attitudes!

Yelp
The staff at jack & gingers is fantastic! The customer service is absolutely unmatched and every time I come in, these are the beautiful faces I am met with. They make the best green tea shots and always brighten my day. They all deserve a raise!

Misses the mark! Got the Irish Breakfast....charro beans?..really as part of Irish Breakfast plus menu says 2 sausages....got 1 cut in half plus think sausage was Precooked. Not a good representative of Irish Breakfast. Got Magners Cider...tasted flat and off color. Overall food not good plus burger nothing to write home about... Wont be back.
