This is a situation where the sum of the parts aren't as good as each individual rating. The servers did not attend the front during a slow part of the day, so we had to wait a bit to be seated. Otherwise the service was fine. The establishment itself was spotless, quiet and relaxing. We could have used more than one napkin a piece, but I suppose I just needed to speak up, even though the mess was apparent. I understand the upcharge for soda and chip refills, as people could stay a long time feeding off of otherwise free food/drink, but most restaurants do offer these options free. When they are an unchanged you better stand out elsewhere. The one thing I loved was the artistic visual presentation of the food on the plates. Most places present the food in a heap or without any thought. Jackey's really stands out in making the food look appetizing and interesting. Unfortunately the taste was merely okay. I was hoping based on how it looked that the food would taste unique or a notch above, but it was quite a bit less flavorful than other places. Maybe that is how it is supposed to taste. I am not an expert in authentic Mexican cuisine, but I do like flavor. The taste did not match the visual appeal. None of this would detour me from eating here again, except the price was noticeable higher than better than establishments that provide more food with more flavor at a lower price. Again, the Atmosphere and good presentation are the positives here, but taste is more important to me.
