Tucked away in stately Bay Village, Jacque’s has reoccurring themes during the week, like the open-stage MT’s Drag Stroll and Tuesday karaoke, plus a ton of themed drag shows throughout each month. It is open at 1 p.m. on weekdays and noon on weekends. Preview upcoming shows on their social feeds or the website." - Alex Reimer, Erika Adams

This was my first experience at a drag show, and I was excited to see their May 4th special. The performers were a lot of fun and the overall vibe of the club was very relaxed and welcoming. Do be aware that tipping the performers is encouraged, so definitely recommend bringing cash with you to the show! The show was very interactive, with the performers moving around the audience throughout their acts. We had a lot of fun, and would definitely come again.

I had a great time in this bar until I was harassed by one of the men working the bar. During one of the drag shows, I saw a man in the audience take pictures of a woman he did not know without her consent and he was taking close picture of her face. There were no performers in the area or in the picture, just an unsuspecting woman who did not consent to this stranger taking her picture without her knowledge. I went to the far side of the bar and told the younger bartender the situation as it made me uncomfortable and seemed creepy so I figured they needed to know for safety purposes. The man I spoke to first was very nice and agreed it was creepy. He said he would keep an eye out which is all I was hoping for. I returned to stand with my friends at the other end of the bar, and the older man behind the bar came up and started yelling at me about making a scene over nothing. He said “why does it matter? She’s not complaining!” And when I said that was because she didn’t know it happened, he responded with “women have been getting their photos taken here for 51 years, get over it!” Then he tried to make me leave. A few minutes later he came back and asked me to “move so I can take a picture” and he tried to take a picture of my face without my consent with his personal phone. I hid behind one of my friends so he couldn’t. He continued making comments to me throughout the night and made the entire space feel unsafe for me. I was just trying to bring sketchy behavior to the managements attention so their patrons could be safe. This bartenders behavior was not only unprofessional it also proves that the safety and security of the bar patrons was not a priority or concern for them. What should have been a quick comment to the bar for safety and awareness’s sake, the bartender escalated things when he wasn’t even the person I brought this to in the first place.

Being a visitor from South Africa we were advised to go to Jacques Cabaret...acting on this advise we made our way there on Saturday and on arrival we were advised the one show is almost ending and the next will start at 9.30 or 10.30 pm but we can pay the 20 dollars entrance and go in and wait for the show. We duly followed this advise and as the audience from the previous show were milling out we continued to sit until we were rudely confronted by an individual who demanded if we had a reservation...screeching into our faces repeatedly...and in the midst of trying to explain we were told to "get out, get out"! Beyong shocked we made our way back to the cashier who tried to apologize and encouraged us to stay. However, we have never in our lives been subjected to such rude and what seemed to be discriminatory treatment. Unacceptable at any level. We would definitely not return, and I would caution others to think twice before going. It is unfortunate that the response from the restaurant instead of apologizing for what happened compounds it with a lie and suggests that we rolled our eyes and used explicit language. We were too shocked and intimidated to dare to do this. The response attempts to suggest that we were discriminatory which was far from the case. The best way to silence a review is to lie in the response. Otherwise, why would the cashier have apologized to us and encouraged us to stay?

We had an unacceptable experience on saturday and condirm that we were.shouted at and told to get out as we waited for the show that we had paid for. I note the apology from Jacques to the other reviewer, but am disappointed that he has followed this with a counter accusation which ia not true. We were too shocked and intimidated by the behaviour of the individual to even reapond whether by gesture or word, and instead went respectfully to the cashier to complain, and he encouraged us to stay. It is therefor unfair to cast aspersions rather than deal with the unacceptable behaviour of a staff member. Jacques should take this opportunity to address service standards.

It's been a while since I've been but I will never forget that night. Celebrated my 50th birthday with my sisters, daughter and their husbands. The Ladies spotted the men and let them know they didn't go unnoticed. My son just turned 21. So I will be sharing this wonderful show with him and his boyfriend. I know they will have a great time.

This was our finale for a bachelorette party, and it was a great choice. It's a small bar, with some large, and in charge, entertainment. (It's a drag club, so extra flare.) The ladies performing all had their own style, and it was a lot of fun! One of the women did songs that you knew, but with a dirty dirty twist, and she was hilarious to watch perform! My favorite had some serious 'tude in a great way! She gave grief (in a fun way) to those being cheap and only offering a dollar tip, have some sassy side eye, and other things like it. She also had my favorite performances, too. Most of her outfits had movement to them, or she changed part of the way through, or both. She had some serious moves, too. They pulled all those celebrating birthdays up, and then, they got up all those celebrating engagements. I like that they gave all of the people a second to really shine and celebrate their big event. Also I was in charge of organizing for the bachelorette party, and the guests sucked. I think I called 4 times in one (that day) day to change the number, because of last minute additions and drop outs. They were so great to accommodate me, and I'm really grateful that my cousins bachelorette party wasn't ruined by the guests. Great place for a fun night!

Wonderful gay bar. Drag stroll was a blast, and karaoke Tuesday was also a good time. Will definitely visit again, made my first time in Boston a memorable one. Thank you for the hospitality.

Google
Amazing place to see drag performers and get drinks. This place is nice because the performers interact with the audience and give a feeling of family. After the show, one of the queens gave me a hug and we took a selfie together. The bar is only serving drinks during the show, and, aside from another patron getting in my space (probably drunk), was very good. The place is great for members of the LGBTQ+ community, but anyone can find lots of fun. There is even a modern jukebox that plays music for a dollar. There is a $15 admission 🎫 and is for individuals 21+. Tipping is recommended for performers but not required. Masks must be worn when not seated at the bar or a table. ID is required and a hand stamp is given for reentry after smoking or vaping. Starting April 2022, there may be open stage nights. Ask a performer after the show about how you can start performing drag.

Christopher P.

Yelp
Very fun for all their event but I mainly go to karaoke so take that for what it is. But to be fair everyone is welcome and kind so let that be a deciding factor

Craig Y.

Yelp
As gay bars and drag shows go, this one is pretty divey . The bar itself is small. The drag show was in a small part of the bar. Hard to move around. The girls were just OK. The bartenders are older. it wasn't awful but it wasn't great. Try a different venue.

Oren R.

Yelp
This was my first time at a drag show and let me tell you, it was quite an experience! My friends and I went here cuz it's right down the block from where we were pregaming and my brother suggested this place but little did we know that it was a drag show. When we walked in I laid my eyes on a half naked queen performing and I fell in love! Slay queen! Yassss! Maybe I'll make Jacques a weekly thing?

R. Mark M.

Yelp
I think I went on the wrong night as my experience was not great. First, this is a true dive which I don't mind, but I went on a Thursday night when there might have been 10 people there. There was a one-woman drag show, and she didn't seem prepared for the evening just kinda winging it and with 10 people in the audience you feel held hostage by the Queen to repeatedly tip. I think on a busier night when there is a full drag show that this place could be fun...just don't go on a Thursday night.

Chris S.

Yelp
First gay bar I've been to. You now have a new consistent customer. I met a very nice man about 9 years older than me. I'm 25 he just turned 34

Sade R.

Yelp
The covers are a bit pricey but the community is so welcoming and the shows are consistently good. if you are looking for a heavy handed bartender and a safe queer community this is the spot for you!

Moloch 6.

Yelp
Fun and vibrant atmosphere with amazingly talented drag performers! Every night is a delight!

Jessica C.

Yelp
I loved Jacques! It was everything we wanted out of cabaret! We went for my sister in laws bachelorette. We are a 30+ crowd and it was fun and entertaining! It lasted about an 1 and 45 minutes. $15 cash cover charge and cash only bar. The reviews I read, say the drinks are expensive but we got a round for 5 people for $40! Our waitress was fabulous! The performers were gorgeous and not too over the top. I've been to a show before and found the dancers to be really pushy for tips, I did not feel like that at Jacques. I made the reservation at the beginning of the week. They said to be there 15 minutes prior to the start of the show to guarantee seats, but we were running late, so I called to give them a heads up, but it wasn't packed and we got a prime table! It was very comfortable for a Saturday 7pm show. Yes it is a dive, but if you are looking for a night out with some friends, I would definitely recommend!

Amber P.

Yelp
I have never laughed so hard in my life. I still laugh when I remember it. This was a peak experience! If you get a chance to go, GO!

Thomas C.

Yelp
A must stop for out of towners who love all kinds of drag and queer dive bars. This is the perfect place to sit at a barstool and take in all of the glamour and characters.

Craig S.

Yelp
Just went again with some friends! Awesome time, would love to know how I can get into drag? I Can't stop thinking about it!

Christina A.

Yelp
Absolutely loved Jacques Cabaret! We came here for my friends bachelorette party (super cliche, I know). It was my first time at any drag show ever, and these ladies were unbelievably talented. They really paid so much attention to the brides and birthdays in the room, which was amazing. Make sure to bring a stack of 1's with you to tip these amazing queens! I gave a 5 based on the queens alone, but the bar could definitely use some work. The drinks come in little Dixie cups and are really expensive, but other than that, such a fun night!

John B.

Yelp
Judging by the performance I stumbled upon the other night, this venerable Boston performance venue has not lost its touch. Amanda Playwith has a repertoire that encompasses cutting edge post-hardcore & the latest Broadway offerings. Despite the sparse weeknight audience the level of professionalism never wavered. This place is the real deal.

Chilly P.

Yelp
I've been to Jacques twice and it's been worth it each time. You are guaranteed a good time. PROS: I'm giving 5 stars to the fabulous queens especially Dee Dee Ray, Destiny and Kris Knievil. The first show I saw was Christmas themed and Dee Dee Ray was a hilarious host. Her paint is flawless and her outfits are amazing. Destiny is wild and hilarious. She does good Nicki impressions. Both Dee Dee and Destiny have great taste in modern songs. Kris Knievil is sweet and funny. She was the host of the second show I attended and made my party feel special. CONS: Okay so I refuse to give them a perfect rating because the bar itself needs work... It's 2018 - whyyy is it cash only?! There's an ATM machine that runs on dial-up and usually doesn't work when you need it to! The cover went up to $15 from $10. For a dive bar?! I HATE the mixed drinks that come in tiny dental cups. I just stick to beer when I'm there. Yes - there's always annoying bachelorette parties that will come to the show. But don't let that stop you from having a great night! And oh god, the men's bathroom is a hot mess. If you need to #2, hold it until you get home. You'll have no privacy. Honestly, the quality of the queens outweighs the cons. Find a cute outfit, grab some bills, go to Jacques and be ready to laugh your ass off!

Cindy P.

Yelp
Came to Boston to visit our daughter on her 21st birthday. Sitting in our PJs in our hotel room with the patio door cracked open. Heard so many people having a great time, we had to join the fun. Arrived just in time...great show and drinks. Perfect way to start the celebration weekend.

Ariel J.

Yelp
Legendary drag club / show. SO fun! A must-see activity while in Boston on a night out. The only reason I'll give 4 stars instead of 5 is the cash-only situation. I came to a show a few weekends ago and the ATM machine inside the bar was broken and the staff were not helpful in pointing us towards an open ATM nearby. Just be prepared with as much cash as you'll need for drinks, tips and the cover BEFORE you get there just in case. Seems like it would be time to update to contactless payment options or more modern ATM machines inside.

Alanna C.

Yelp
Absolutely loved it here! I went for my cousin's bachelorette party and the show was everything we wanted and more! The queens were beautiful and so talented! I can't wait to go back!

Grace F.

Yelp
Lots of fun and laughs enjoyed. The drinks are strong so being cash for the cash only bar

Daira R.

Yelp
I love Jacques for exactly what it is, a drag dive bar with overpriced drinks. Do you want an upscale establishment? Don't come here. Do you want cheap drinks don't come here? Do you want to watch amazing drag queens put on a kick ass show? Then yes come here. The Friday and Saturday night shows are your standard drag queen hits shows with the crowd full of screaming bachelorettes. I was absolutely one of them so I can't judge. I've come to love Jacques for its other shoes, drag queen karaoke, Drag race viewings, and the occasional Friday show down stairs of original and new drag performances. I think, if you're looking for something to do, Jacques has you covered every night of the week. Just remember, they're cash only and the drinks are overpriced. Exactly how I like it.

Alex R.

Yelp
3 stars is what I give this spot, but the 4th star is for the show. This bar is obviously very lucky to have their Drag Show bring in the audience it does. I came here with a bachelorette, and when we walked in, I looked over and whispered "are we sure we're in the right place?" The bar is a dive bar, low ceilings, poorly lit, a little grubby. They didn't have food so we ordered pizza (this is allowed). The drinks we got were in plastic Dixie cups and the beer was a bit warm, and only bottled if I'm not mistaken. Luckily, once the drag show starts you don't realize any of this. The performers are absolutely hilarious and put on an excellent show. They were super interactive, quick on their feet with jokes, and put on a show that was unforgettable.

Yelp
Less than one month ago, Fascination, a carefully and beautifully organized and curated queer gear and fetish night that had been taking place at Jacques for years ended in disaster when Jacques' non-Fascination patrons assaulted three Fascination attendees, including Fascination's incredibly hard-working and devoted organizer. Since that night, Jacques' management has done everything in its power to discredit the victims of this assault, including victim-blaming and spreading misinformation to local and national media outlets, later issuing caveats noting that the bar's management did not actually witness the assault. The Fascination team decided that Jacques is no longer a safe venue to host its attendees, and they have decided to move the event to a different venue. To add insult to the Fascination victims' ACTUAL physical injury, today Jacques publicized their own Gear and Fetish Night, which will take place on the same night when Fascination would have next occurred. Their event is unsanctioned and unsupported by any LGBTQ promoters or event organizers, and its posting makes 0 reference to the tragedy of three weeks ago. This venue has now shown irrefutable proof that its management DOES NOT support or care about the LGBTQ community it purports to serve. I strongly encourage all potential visitors to (a) not support Jacques' management with your hard-earned dollars, and (b) choose other LGBTQ establishments and events to attend and patronize instead. If you need suggestions, check out Kikipaedia.com (I am unaffiliated with this website, I just think it has useful info about Boston's LGBTQ nightlife.)

Yelp
This place is epic! Anyone who hates this place is going in with the wrong frame of mind and for the wrong reason. Your going to a drag show- men dress up as women and rock their body. It's great. There is some serious talent here too. We had the pleasure of Kris Knievil (Christopher Fijal) as our host and he was epic! We also watched Destiny- and holy moly - pretty amazing! We came for a bachlorette party- and this is def a spot for that! There were loads of bachelorettes and it was fun when the host dragged them on stage. I would strongly recommend coming when you are warmed up- and be open and have a good night. This was fun and we would def go back!

Keeks A.

Yelp
Came for a celebration with friends of both my birthday and the beginning of my journey starting hormone replacement therapy- I was brought on stage and introduced myself and stated my pronouns- knowing that if i didn't announce my pronouns, I'd likely be misperceived. The crowd of mostly cis-het bachelorettes cheered condescendingly- and then I was unfortunately misgendered three times on the mic by the host in front of everyone- and this queen then made a weird sexualized and internally misogynist comment about my lack of underwear (I was literally dressed modestly and was certainly wearing underwear) It was incredibly embarrassing and I really tried to get over it - but was then even more disappointed at the vast amount of strange racial stereotype based jokes the act was centered around. When a queer friendly space sets a precedent of inclusion- that means for every member of the community- including trans individuals. It was heartbreaking that even in a queer space I will never be seen the way I so desperately wish I was. Ruined my night.

Mark William B.

Yelp
This legendary establishment opened back up finally after covid 2 nights ago. Chris and Billy behind the bar were awesome. Was great to see Dee Dee and Destiny back up on stage. Place hasn't missed a beat. Exactly what you would expect. Glad it's back open!!!

Dee C.

Yelp
This review is long over due. This place is incredible. I had such a great time. The performances are actually GREAT the comedy is actually funny. I had no idea what to expect but I def didnt expect the great time I had. The crowd is amazing, the ppl are amazing, the performers are out of this world. I would go here every weekend if you let me. Def have to try it atleast once. I would call this place Boston's hidden Jewel.

Aaron C.

Yelp
Outstanding show the drinks are so good. Our waitress was so fabulous. My family And I really enjoyed the show the Queens are so fabulous it's wonderful how they get the entire audience involved. All the Queens look fabulous I want to be a Queen after seeing that fabulous show and the staff was so wonderful looking forward to visiting again

Tim L.

Yelp
Wow such an amazing group of performers. Went for the first time tonight for my sisters birthday and was sat in the front row by the stage. Didn't really know what to expect. They use the audience so much in their routines but it is awesome. Not for the shy but for the ppl who love love love a good time. If you haven't been I would highly highly highly recommend going. Looks like a "dive bar" at first but I have never had so much fun. The waitress was nice and prompt and chill. If you like drag, or even if you don't but are open minded and want to have a good time, this is the place to go. Couldn't recommend it more for anyone in Boston or going to visit. Kudos ladies!!! You are amazing at what you do! To those ppl I read you had a bad experience: you all were late- very late and then expected to be coddled. These gals are performers and entertainers. I am a musician and if I I came late to a performance and then complained.... shame on you. The email and website clearly states when you need to be there. Shame on you for negatively reviewing the most courageous gals in the business...

Ella W.

Yelp
Couldn't of had a better time celebrating my 21st birthday here. Can't wait to come back.

Lisa S.

Yelp
Loved. $10 cover, $5-7 drinks, cash only (ATM on site), fabulous show. I was impressed with pretty much every single performer. The songs were fun, the dance moves impressive, and the drag queens were surprisingly hot. They also made outrageously colored, tight jumpsuits look good. We planned to go to the show as part of a "girls night out." We got there at 8:02 and they had given our table away (the show starts at 8), so we ended up standing up in the back, which turned out to be more fun, since we could dance. I got sufficiently drunk and loved the show so much that I told everyone I saw that this was my future career path. And I wasn't kidding. Warning: If you're a single heterosexual guy, or celebrating some sort of event, don't raise your hand at the beginning of the show unless you don't mind being "singled out" for most of the show. And don't come here if you are easily offended.

B W.

Yelp
super cool place to see a drag show- I would also say it is pretty accessible- the Arlington greenling stop has an elevator and I don't remember having to go up any stairs to get inside.

Meg N.

Yelp
I think Im in love with a drag queen. At first glance, this hole in the wall, understaffed, and over crowded place will have you cringing. But as soon as the KWEENS come on stage, it all disappears and your in a blissful heaven of fake boobs, and lip syncing. There were some cringe worthy moments, and some that made your jaw hit the floor. But its all in good fun. Only complaint I have is the buildings fire exits. I literally felt like if there was a fire, we were all going to be trapped. And wait staff was SO SLOW. But we went up to the bar and were served instantly. Definitely want to come back next time I'm in town.

Sarah N.

Yelp
Went here with a group of friends to the 7 pm show in the basement on a Saturday night. Super simple set up downstairs with small tables and chairs. The ladies who performed were high energy and a lot of fun to interact with. This show is not for the faint-of-heart because it's like Magic Mike meets To Wong Foo. You will be touched and danced upon. Also, (just a friendly reminder of drag etiquette) make sure you bring single dollar bills to tip the performers. This place has strong drinks and sassy queens so I will definitely be coming back to check out the other shows and events.

Jamie H.

Yelp
what a fun show! my girlfriends and i went for a bachelorette party and this was perfect. the ladies were all so entertaining and amazing performers, and we loved how much they all interacted with the crowd, but respectfully taking cues from the individuals within in the audience on how much. we had a blast, and couldn't believe the cover was only $15 for such a great show.

Sabrina G.

Yelp
I went for my best friend's bachelorette party and had a blast. We got to see the underground show and it was great! The music was good, costumes on point and the performers were so entertaining. This place was so much fun! Bring cash - they don't take cards. There is an ATM in the building though just in case you forget.

Sarah L.

Yelp
Came here for a bachelorette party and it did not disappoint! We had so much fun, this was the perfect start to our night!! Everyone loved it and all of the dancers were great. Highly recommend

Kayla K.

Yelp
Went here just on a whim. So glad we did!! We had a great time! Everyone was super friendly and all the queen were beautiful and hilarious. I also feel like everyone did a good job not making any one individual feel uncomfortable or targeted. It was a great time!!!

George C.

Yelp
Had a great time at Jacques Cabaret on Friday night. Friendly staff, diverse crowd and fun show. Kris Knievel and the other performers were energetic, fun, and seemed to be really enjoying themselves as much as the audience. Drinks were reasonably priced and generous! A special thank you to Kira, our waitress, who was amazing and attentive and made sure we were well hydrated! . Hadn't been to Jacques in over 40 years ( I moved out of state) so wasn't sure what to expect but it was awesome!!! Planning another visit soon!!

Lily S.

Yelp
What a fun night! Came here for a token bachelorette party. The only off part of the experience was a bit of a hassle getting in the door. Unfortunately we were not able to reserve a table (even two weeks in advance--so keep that in mind), so when we showed up roughly 30 min before the show, the queens at the front door tried to give us a hard time about getting in. Saying that they had to check capacity etc. Betch, please. Who are you kidding? However, after some light groveling and puppy dog eyes we were allowed to pass. We grabbed some seats at the bar (that was empty) and enjoyed a few cocktails. Our friend got to go up on stage and chat about the wedding/engagement (along with the other brides in the audience), and then we were all serenaded by some hits from the 80s 90s and today. The show is definitely worth the 10 bucks and in general is an overall fun experience.

Melanie V.

Yelp
I called "Jacques Cabaret" to ask a quick question - That is literally what I said to the man or woman whom answered the phone. They rudely said, "okay? Make it quick!" Then they proceeded to not listen to what I was saying. "Jacques Cabaret," first impressions matter - And you did not make a good one. You never know who you are speaking too, or looking down on. I work with some of the most influential make up artists in the country, and it's safe to say that none of them act unprofessional like this. I will no be recommending this place to anyone. "Jacques Cabaret," if one of your staff members acts messy, you are all messy.

Nancy Z.

Yelp
She's got legs that could last for days! In this case, the she is a he, but damn he has nice legs. At Jacques Cabaret, it is all love- inappropriate entertainment, bold and vulgar movements, professional lip syncing, which means you better be ready to pull out some dolla dolla bills, y'all! These ladies work the stage, skillfully strutting around to make their presence known; twirls, bold makeup, wearing big wigs like a boss and it makes the crowd come to life! I even saw a split in mid air that landed on the ground perfectly. Doesn't that hurt their- crap, I forgot to buy more bowling balls for this weekend. Prudes: Be cautious. I saw one drag queen lift up a girl's legs and pretended to go down on her. Don't worry, the girl's clothes were on. They are not afraid to get in your face, so this is for the fun and inviting people only. Oh fo sho! I'll be back here again. With strong cocktails at $7 a pop and cheap cover charge, make sure your butt is on time for the show out of respect for these spectacular ladies, and to get a really good seat too. So every time when you think, "ugh, I'm so sick of Boston." Go to Jacques Cabaret to experience something completely new and exciting. Thanks for giving me another reason to love my Boston, Jacques.

LeAnn L.

Yelp
Like many, I came for a bachelorette party. Despite booking many months in advance for a party of 5 girls, and arriving 45 minutes before the show, we were informed that we had to sit in the basement, and sit at the bar. Not even at a table!! Of course we were all extremely disappointed and felt rejected. We were not given an answer as to why we had to sit in the basement or why we could not sit at a table. Management kept saying everything was "reserved". Well what about OUR reservation? The basement seems like an overflow room for when they overbook for an evening, but they don't want to turn patrons away, so they get sent to the basement... very small bootlegged stage and lighting. Dark and dank. It was depressing, really. After a half hour of requesting to move (essentially begging), and after speaking to three different employees, literally moments before the show started, we were moved upstairs because they had a "cancellation". Once we were upstairs and the show started, we had a blast. The show was a ton of fun and the performers were all amazing. HOWEVER, had we not, by the grace of God, been moved upstairs, our experience would have suffered immensely. I wouldn't return unless for another bachelorette party.

Yelp
Was just threatened by another patron. So disappointed this was my first experience which I waited so long for. The club shouldn't allow too many people to be in an area meant to be for a few.

Yelp
I've been to Jacques twice and both times were equally funny and entertaining. Seems the reviews are mixed for Jacques. The other reviews seem to be from entitled women or gay men complaining about the cover. Yes, Jacques is a dive and not a luxurious hotel bar that smells of lavender oils. Yes, Jacques has been taken over by bachelorette/birthday parties. Get over it. As for the actual show, I've been to both upstairs and downstairs shows. Both were great. Upstairs does have the advantage since there is a runway and a spotlight can follow the queens as they make their way around. All of the ones I saw knew how to work the crowd and get a reaction. The bartenders/servers are always quick and friendly (they also put a lot of alcohol in the drinks for a low price). The staff I encountered (bouncer, doorman, and manager) were all really friendly. We ended up forgetting a bag after they closed. Knocked on the door and let them know we forgot a bag. At first they couldn't find it for us and were really helpful about it. Then a few minutes later they ended up finding it. This seems like the place if you do something to piss them off, they'll give it right back to you. Reading some of these other reviews about rude management/staff sounds like they aren't telling the whole story.

Yelp
Had an absolute blast at Jacques last night! We were greeted by a lovely gentleman at the door and got a spot at the back bar. The patrons were lively, the manager Chris was a doll, and the girls were divine! The show was entertaining and we loved every minute. We're so happy to know we have such a fun place in town. We will surely be back!

Yelp
Located in some alley, you'd never would have thought this place existed and if you did, you wouldn't know that it was more than just a bar. Yes there's a $10 cover to get in. You walk in there's a pool table and a bar, but if you walk just a bit further, you'll be able to see the show and what this place is all about. This place definitely has some good pours for their drinks! That first sip will knock your socks off! But that's not what this review is about. This review is about those drag/tranny's on stage. And they were magnificent! Some of the girls/guys were just beautiful - you would have never known they were guys if they were walking down the street. They're hotter than most girls! Yes they are lip syncing, and yes it would be even better if they were actually singing, but this is a cabaret, not a singing contest. Most of the place was made of girls from bachlorette parties, but there were certainly all types of people in the crowd. You have guys, girls, couples, groups of girls like me and Chere, gays/lesbians, etc. All are there to have a great time and I most certainly have. Of course you would have to go with the right people, who can accept such differences. But be sure to bring cash, as they do not accept credit cards! This place was so awesome, we're going back this coming weekend! Who's with us?! Whoot! **** EDITED 2/24/08 **** WOO!!! Been back several times now and each time is still a great show. It never gets old and actually every show is different. They seem to incorporate new acts/songs, guests appearances, and new outfits. Each time I've been back it's always a blast. My favorite and the main reason why I go back is for Destiny. I absolutely love and admire her.

Yelp
I had my bachelorette party last night and we went here. Not my first time going and definitely not my last!!! The ladies that perform put so much hard work into their performances and appearance!! They know how to entertain and make it an incredible and fun night! Drinks are very reasonably priced and all of the staff is super friendly. 100% recommend! Make sure you bring extra cash for tips during the performance! They work hard for their money!!

Yelp
I actually had fun, until I met the manager, SHE IS THE WORST... my friend and I offered to pay double the cover so we could stay and drink at the bar.... she not only belittled us but also belittled her bartender.. it was awful. The queens are awesome but please don't go here.

Yelp
Hell to the yes. I went here before I moved from Boston and it was the best damn send of a girl who loves glitter could have. Rachel sang "California Gurls" for me while I drank my heavy on the Jack and Cokes all night long. I still love this place. So get yer a$$ there!

Yelp
My first ever drag show, and I had a great time. Of course, my larger-chested friends all got felt up, while I had to settle for a nice picture with one of the divas, but really, all was good. It's out of the way and yet totally close to the T, the show is certainly unforgettable, and I really did have a great time. The performers were more than accommodating of the birthday and bridal parties in the room and made sure to harass the guys who'd been dragged (no pun intended) along. Good times, save the early closing time! Drink the Brubaker's, by the by. It's a good deal.
