A neighborhood favorite for American‑Chinese comfort—orange chicken, Mongolian beef, fried rice—done with care. The family-run team leans into generous portions and value-packed lunch specials, drawing steady local crowds.

Google
Really not my favorite and I think it's been declining over the years. The fried rice has zero flavor and nothing in it but "brown." No veggies or anything. The sesame and orange chicken are simultaneously soggy and overcooked. The chicken is very dry, but it's in too much over-sweet sauce so it's soggy outside. The beef cuts in the lo mein and beef/broccoli had a lot of tendon and hard chewing. Overall just not that great.

Google
Food was very delicious. Excellent service. Highly recommended!!! Orange chicken was some of the best I’ve ever had in my life!

Google
This place was soooo good! Amazing food and chill atmosphere, we enjoyed bringing our whole family here and John the owner gave great recommendations on food. As you can see from our photo we had to order a little bit of everything and even tho there are left over we ate it up!

Google
Pleasantly surprised with this restaurant! The food was fresh and delicious. I recommend the Mongolian beef( great spice and flavor) and orange chicken (perfect amount of light fried batter and flavor, not as spicy as the beef). The egg drop soup was good-average. The egg roll is a must have, so good! This place is great for families and kids. If you have a restless kiddo, there is a cat cafe next door where your kids can watch cats roam freely.

Google
I have been going to this restaurant for awhile now and it has been great. I recently got the Mongolian Beef lunch menu and it was good. Large servings for a good price.

It took a bit to drag my roommate after chemo, but this is where she wanted to go. Service: awesome. Food: awesome. Atmosphere: awesome. We will be back.

Google
Second time ordering and it’s hands down the best Chinese in the area. It’s so fresh. The food isn’t weird, rubbery meat and old veggies swimming in a sad brown liquid. Everything tastes like it was cooked with love and quality ingredients. Portions are also massive so the price is really like 2 1/2 - 3 meals. Highly recommend!

Google
Been far and wide. This is hands down the best orange chicken I've had anywhere. A depth of flavor, crispy chicken. Wonderful service and atmosphere. Can't wait to return.

Yelp
Got take out here during the week. I was really happy with my food and experience:) Calling in at 7:45, I was given a 15-20 minute wait time. Arriving just before 8, I was surprised my order was ready. The fried rice was very delicious, with pork and vegetables in every bite :)

Laura G.

Yelp
Amazing! I incorrectly ordered something and called to say I had ordered incorrectly. I spoke with the owner and he was so kind. He remade my food and delivered it to my address. He went above and beyond. I will be visiting this place again and again. The food is amazing too with healthy options.

Yelp
Went to Jade Chinese. We had been there many times in years past for take out, but it had been years. So we decided tonight to stop in and have dinner. The food was amazing as always. We got the vegetable fried rice, vegetable egg foo young, sweet and sour shrimp, egg rolls and egg drop soup with won ton soup. Service was amazing and the food came out hot and fast. I work close so this is definetly going to be a restaurant we will be one we frequent from now on.

Yelp
Sad times for Albuquerque. Someone who knows the owners took over the store. They got a new cook who ruined all the old recipes. The rice is greasy and dark colored, not fluffy like before. The seasoning leaves an artificial aftertaste. You'd think they would have found it important to learn the old way before taking over. They'll likely lose most of their customer base. Also, you can't enjoy the experience of dining in house anymore, it used to be nice to do that sometimes but they're take out only now. This place is going down, fast. Terribly disappointed because it used to be the only good place in town. Those were the days. Farewell.

Yelp
I'm going to be fair, came here thinking it was the old Jade so our expectations and experience were different than what we expected. First off it is under new ownership and the food is different. We had to get over that fact. So it is good, better than most ABQ Chinese. Is it as good as it was? not quite. Is the service better, why yes. Will I go again, I'm sure I will but not rushing back. So go and know it's not the same Jade you last ate and you'll probably be just fine.

David W.

Yelp
Ordered the mapo tofu. Really terrible. Person who made it either does not know Asian cooking or doesn't care. Wrong ingredients in this dish like mushrooms and peas. Worse yet, peas were recently frozen. No flavor to it at all. Took 3 bites and threw it out.

Yelp
Our family loves this place. We're so happy that it's finally open for dine in the food is amazing. The stuff is amazing. We love the sweet-and-sour chicken. It's truly the best in the city.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing fried rice! They have great prices as well and huge portions. I got the vegetable fried rice and was able to split it into 3 meals!

Yelp
Good, tasty food. Good quantity also. Only doing take out due to staff shortages. The lady attending to customers, taking phone orders, taking walk-in orders, delivering the food etc, all with a smile and many thank you so much you's, is absolutely wonderful.

D S.

Yelp
Very disappointed in our take out meal last night. Got the food home and our almond chicken had NO almonds. The twice cooked pork was sweet instead of spicy and it came with only broccoli instead of the usual cabbage, peppers, onions. Something has changed here and it is not for the better, will not go back.

Yelp
We've been hitting the Asian Restaurants pretty heavily the last few weeks. This was no exception. Having come at the end of lunch rush we easily found a place to sit. Quick glance at the menu provided options not seen in quite awhile - Paper Wrapped Chicken, promptly ordered. A medium bowl of wonton soup was also ordered. Surprisingly large loaded with bbq pork, lots of wontons and the remaining usual ingredients. For entrees we got the Almond Duck - tender, delicious and not greasy and the Mongolian Beef - equally tender and delicious. Plenty of food to go around and still have some left for another meal. Service was excellent. One thing I noticed during our meal, they seem to do a fairly brisk business in take-out. There were quite a few orders picked up. We'll be making a few return visits here.

Forrest B.

Yelp
Love jades been going there for years. The food is good but I don't see the friendly warmth like before, I felt welcomed in, now I feel like a stranger and just a customer. Are you under new management?

Andrew G.

Yelp
Their food used to be so good. However, they apparently have changed cooks, and cooking style. Their fried rice is greasy and really has no taste. Their eggrolls have gotten smaller and extra greasy. Unfortunately they've gotten more expensive for smaller portions. The sliced barbecue pork used to be generous amounts of pork and now you get a few slices and it is like chewing rubber. They were a much better restaurant when they were located on Coors and the first few years that they were in their new location on Wyoming. Extremely disappointed with the last orders we have placed there. And unfortunately we will not be returning.

Janean G.

Yelp
Something has changed here. I called to talk to the manager and he said it's the cooks not the owners. The size of the containers are half the size, the quality and tastes went way is different and the homemade egg rolls are now spring rolls and still frozen inside. I've been a long time customer and willing to pay high prices for good quality. I will not be going back here.

Yelp
A gem of a place if you're looking for the yummiest Chinese food. We've been on the hunt for the best egg rolls in ABQ, and Jade wins. The size of the egg rolls and fry to crispy perfection was spot on. We only wish they offered them with pork! ‍ That would put them over the top for us! We had the PoPo platter for 2 and everything on it was delicious and so fresh (best we've had also!) I would come again just for this! Of course, we devoured it within minutes. We also had their fried rice with chicken and pork and it was not only abundant, but super fresh and delicious! Another big plus for us is that husband doesn't do white or yellow onions, so it was really nice to see that none of their dishes had any white or yellow onions. We are happy to drive across town to dine here and we will return soon. Maybe the next time we get there I'll be able to post pictures before I devour it all lol. Seriously though, you can't go wrong here - if you're looking for really good Chinese food, you've gotta try Jade.

Lynn E.

Yelp
Four of us had dinner at Jade last night. They are back to dine in with a full menu of Chinese food. We had the Family Dinner for four of us which included a choice of soups, three appetizer items and four entree selections. Everything was excellent, service was fast and attentive, and we will be going back. The restaurant has been refurbished with new carpet and upholstery

Nur A.

Yelp
Food was good, staff is very sweet and friendly and place is client friendly so all in all it was a great experience.

Yelp
We did take out and were sadly disappointed. My wife had Sesame Chicken and I had Orange Chicken. The chicken in each dish was dry and tasted like it was old and fried in old grease. The sauce in each dish was too sweet and did not stick to the chicken because it was very thin. There must be a scarcity of oranges because my orange chicken had three tiny, tiny, orange pieces. The hot and sour soup was just ok. The price was way too expensive for the quality of the food. The service was good and the food came out in an acceptable time frame. Long and short we will NOT eat here again.

Bill L.

Yelp
Loved this place no more no sit down no customer , you blew it , who is the Einstein who came up with this brilliant plan

Andy V.

Yelp
Great food, kind workers who make sure to accommodate any modifications to your food. I also enjoy the peaceful and clean atmosphere. Love this place!! Recommend to everyone!

Annelle B.

Yelp
I went there for a takeout. my best friend recommended it. the service and the food was absolutely excellent. I would recommend it to anybody who likes Oriental food. I rated a 10 one being the lowest and 10 being the highest. and thanks to the owner for being so kind patient and he even gave me a bowl of excellent excellent. I believe it was egg drop soup that really helped my throat from my allergies.

Yelp
Great place, food and people. I love this little restaurant a lot and visit when I can. I usually always go for orange chicken whenever I choose Chinese, but I recently got a kick for sweet and sour chicken and this is the place for it. Unlike other Chinese places, the sweet and sour sauce isn't overbearing and too sweet. Here, the sauce and chicken are great together. I often get the lunch specials, and each experience has been great. My server has been the woman who (may) run the restaurant and recently a younger boy. Both are very sweet people. The chef, whoever it is, makes great food. I seriously recommend this place for an affordable meal and a quiet place to eat, since they also offer takeout, not very many people dine in, which I enjoy because of the quiet scenery. Service is fast too! If you're unsure what to try, their orange chicken is pretty amazing, but honestly I love their egg drop soup the most and it's very tasty.

Yelp
Amazing food and some of the kindest people ever - the prices are a but pricey but the serving sizes and delicious flavors make it worth it. We've been going here for 5+ years and it's always been great.
google avatar

Yelp
A new find and glad I did. Small restaurant next to DMV on Paseo del Norte. Off the large menu, my wife ordered the LoMein and I had the half of duck. The duck was perfect - too big to finish. Both portions were delicious and large. The wife of the owner is so friendly and accommodating.
google avatar

Scott H.

Yelp
I'm sorry but this place just does not taste good, their orange chicken, sweet-and-sour chicken, beef and broccoli are all very dry, the service is great, the rice is generally over cooked. And the price I think is absolutely outrageous for the lack of food quality.
google avatar

Art T.

Yelp
Ordered one of the lunch specials. I liked that they gave you a choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup. I always get the hot and sour if it's available. I didn't like the hot and sour. Too sweet and too thick. Almost like a barbecue sauce. It was a small cup, but I couldn't bring myself to finish it. The atmosphere is pleasant for a storefront type joint. Well maintained booths and tables. The broccoli beef was okay. Again, the sauce was too thick. The beef itself was excellent. Very tender. Service was excellent. Overall, just average.

Hannah S.

Yelp
I am not typically a Chinese food lover, but joined some friends at Jade! I was definitely anxious about how my food why would be because Chinese restaurants definitely vary. I was very impressed with my orange beef and rice. I would definitely recommend this place (even as a picky eater).

Dani K.

Yelp
Good Chinese food but VERY EXPENSIVE for what you get. On a positive note, their Chinese food is simple and always fresh with lots of vegetables. Service is also good. It seems that most of their business is takeout, and I've never seen the place even moderately full. There should be no problem getting a table if you want to eat in. My issue is that their prices have nearly doubled in the last three years. One order of chicken with snow peas was $7.95, then $11.99, and now (as of September 2021), it's $14.99. Same entree. Same size. All regular entrées are now over $15 a piece. We're not even talking about the chef specials. $15.75 for pork with veggies. $16.99 for orange chicken. Add an extra $1.50 if you want fried rice. Lunch was always amazing at around seven dollars a plate for a combo meal. Now, expect to pay $10.75 for a simple lunch entrée. I have always enjoyed their food, and we don't mind paying for quality, but spending over $60 (not including the COVID surcharge) for a family of four for basic takeout Chinese in styrofoam takeout boxes is a little much. I hope they take a look at that.
google avatar

Rod B.

Yelp
Love having such a great locally-owned restaurant in the neighborhood. They were rather busy with several tables and lots of take out traffic. Took a little longer with them being short staffed (like everywhere else) but the food quality is still great!

David H.

Yelp
I was wanting to try their food for along time. However I was very disappointed the sweet sour soup was not good very tangy tasting I ordered pork Kung pao it to was terrible sorry I will not return
google avatar

L T.

Yelp
Slow and pricy because they are so busy in the evenings and they have a COVID-19 surcharge. Call your order in and it may take up to 45-60 minutes. We had the chef special sizzling beef and onions, orange chicken extra spicy, and sweet and sour pork - over $50 Now the food was good. But not $50 good. And we had to wait for a non-itemized receipt in semi-legible scratchings. The lady up front was horribly busy and we gave her a tip anyway because we were already all in on this hand of poker. There were no utensils nor napkins. The extra spicy wasn't. If you have the time, go to Tsai's near Coronado Mall. The food is as good if not better with great soups, quick service, and better prices.
google avatar

Tom K.

Yelp
Food was fresh and hot, however, the price they're charging is on a high end. $12 for the lunch plate that doesn't have much of the main dish but tons of fried rice.
google avatar

Robert K.

Yelp
Every time we go there the food is perfectly prepared and the service is great. Hot and sour soup is unique and delicious. Lemon chicken is best we have ever been served at a restaurant and tastes like they use Meyer lemons.

Janine A.

Yelp
I'd never been to Jade before. But I was visiting the Catopia cat cafe next door and several people recommended it. I stopped in one evening to order take out. I had the orange chicken and the portion size was massive! The food was hot and fresh. Very tasty! I will definitely visit again on my next trip to Albuquerque.
google avatar

Rhianna D.

Yelp
Huge menu, quick, friendly service, good food. Can't ask for more!
google avatar

Yelp
This is our go to Chinese Restaurant. The owners and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They use fresh ingredients and it sets them apart from the others. Kung Bao Chicken is one of our favorites but we are never disappointed with any of the items on the menu. Egg rolls are delicious and so are all of their soups.
google avatar

Vanessa B.

Yelp
My family and I ordered 4 entrees right as they opened on Wednesday for lunch. It took awhile to be ready, but thats fine. They were really busy. With the on menu pricing, our meal should have cost $40.80 before tax. I was charged $54.93. Im not sure what kind of place charges that kind of tax, but I let it go because I am in the service industry and know how hard this pandemic is hitting our industry. I would just tell others to be cautious and ask for an itemized receipt. Which they did not offer, as its a family owed business that just writes it on a guest check and then calculated on a calculator. Had I not already been waiting 35 minutes and had a car full of kids, I might have argued the price, but I figured, maybe they changed the prices without updating them. Just be cautious people. As far as the food goes, it was mediocre. We had beef fried rice, which was just ok. The pork fried rice was actually pretty good, which is weird that they tasted so different, with just the meats being different. The sesame chicken wasn't great. The sauce is really runny and didn't stick to the chicken. Which also made it easy to make a mess in the to go bags. Same with the orange chicken. Either way. I will not be returning. I am from out of town and looked up the best Chinese food, and ever traveled far out of way for this. Was extremely disappointed. Hope they fix some of these faults.
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
Don't listen to the 1 star people. It's people complaining about how their takeout was cold and soggy after their 30 minute drive home. Jade is consistently awesome and delicious. The staff is very friendly. This place is so good sometimes seating isn't available in the restaurant and people still wait. It's underrated and deserves a higher rating.
google avatar

Peggy R.

Yelp
Hot, fresh and so clean. Service is fabulous. We have been going for 30 years and it has always been consistent in the quality. It is not fast food but we feel it is cooked fresh when you order and we appreciate that.

Jennifer G.

Yelp
Huge portions. Attentive service. The sesame chicken was great! Prices are good. Soup was super thick so a little taffy for me texture but it is just an extra in my opinion. Not the main food. The food was great
google avatar

Muse Z.

Yelp
Food is amazing! It's hard to find good Chinese food in Abq and this place is a gem. I love the lunch specials and since I don't eat meat they will substitute it with tofu. Since eating indoors isn't allowed right now you can call in a order for pick up. Super easy abs quick. Staff is amazing and very sweet

S J.

Yelp
I seriously loved this place. As someone who enjoys going out to eat, I especially loved the environment. The hostess-waitress was very kind. The food came out quickly! I ordered the egg drop soup and I think it was the best egg drop soup I've had! The flavor was great and it was well seasoned as well as the perfect thickness. My main meal was also amazing, the rice was flavorful and the egg roll was massive! Having never been here, I really do plan on coming back. Incredible for takeaway too!
google avatar

Virginia G.

Yelp
Sooooo disappointing. Before we left NM and returned, over a decade ago, this was our favorite Chinese restaurant. Now, I can't say I'll return. I'm saddened to leave this low rated review, but I have a duty to inform others of what we experienced. As we scooped white rice out of the box, there was a thick hair stuck in the middle. OMG. I have a family of 5 to feed, and this sickened me. Especially during COVID, we couldn't take the chance to eat the food. Man, how awful this was especially when we were super excited to be ordering again.
google avatar

Emily M.

Yelp
I love this place. AMAZING sesame chicken, fantastic egg drop soup, tasty general tao's chicken. If you want good Chinese, go here
google avatar

M B.

Yelp
I understand the limitations that restaurants are facing during COVID, and I applaud the ones who are trying to stay open. But our order last night was well below expectations. Fried chicken wings were in bags that didn't support them by weight or substance; both were torn and soggy when we got home 15 minutes later; with wings falling out into main bag. Also, the lo mein consisted of spaghetti noodles- no joke. If you're running short on supplies, just say so or take it off the menu. The mixed vegetables were decent enough, but I would not order from them again. Also felt that entire meal (3 apps, one veggie dish and one "kids meal") was overpriced; over $40. Would not recommend.

Yelp
I went to Jade the other night while visiting friends in Albuquerque. I was very impressed by the service and the menu selection. As soon as we sat down we got our drink orders right away. The restaurant was clean and the booths are comfy, even for my 9 1/2 month pregnant friend. We decided on getting the Family Meal ($9.95 per person, comes with appetizers, rice, soup, and family style entries). We saw that the standard rice for the Family Meal was pork fried rice. I'm allergic to pork, so we thought we would ask to have plain steamed rice instead. When we asked about it, I mentioned my pork allergy. They gladly said they could make us some chicken fried rice instead as well as some steamed rice. When the appetizers came out, they told me that the egg rolls are cooked in the same oil as the pork, so they wanted to let me know so I wouldn't have an allergic reaction. Since I couldn't eat the egg rolls they offered me an additional cup of my soup. I thought that was extremely nice of them. (I'm so used to just sucking it up and getting less food...boo) My friends got scheshwan beef and cashew chicken. I got the chicken lo mein. It was really good! The noodles were perfectly cooked and they didn't taste oily at all, which is a problem at a lot of Chinese restaurants I dine at so I usually opt out of the lo mein. This place has really good food. The veggies on the chicken cashew dish were perfectly cooked with just a little bit of crunch left in them. No one likes soggy, overcooked veggies. I was very happy with my meal, the service, and the overall experience.

Yelp
We just love this place. It is very clean, the staff is wonderful and the food is always hot and fabulous. It lacks a little on the ambiance scale but that doesn't matter when everything else is factored in. I always have the General Tso's chicken... it is the best anywhere. But I have tasted tons of other things on their menu while dining here with friends and family. There hasn't been one disappointment.
google avatar

Matthew G.

Yelp
I've been patronizing Jade Chinese (and their sister restaurant South China Chineses Restaurant, although both different) since I was a kid. I've had chinese food around the country. Nothing quite compares. Still fresh, not as greasy as others, consistent, and just yummy. I've tried nearly the entire menu and have only had one thing I didn't care for, only because I don't like water chestnuts in anything.

Yelp
This is my new favorite Chinese restaurant in the Albuquerque metro area. The sesame chicken is perfection! Service is fast and prices are great.
