I went to Jade the other night while visiting friends in Albuquerque. I was very impressed by the service and the menu selection.
As soon as we sat down we got our drink orders right away. The restaurant was clean and the booths are comfy, even for my 9 1/2 month pregnant friend. We decided on getting the Family Meal ($9.95 per person, comes with appetizers, rice, soup, and family style entries). We saw that the standard rice for the Family Meal was pork fried rice. I'm allergic to pork, so we thought we would ask to have plain steamed rice instead.
When we asked about it, I mentioned my pork allergy. They gladly said they could make us some chicken fried rice instead as well as some steamed rice. When the appetizers came out, they told me that the egg rolls are cooked in the same oil as the pork, so they wanted to let me know so I wouldn't have an allergic reaction. Since I couldn't eat the egg rolls they offered me an additional cup of my soup. I thought that was extremely nice of them. (I'm so used to just sucking it up and getting less food...boo)
My friends got scheshwan beef and cashew chicken. I got the chicken lo mein. It was really good! The noodles were perfectly cooked and they didn't taste oily at all, which is a problem at a lot of Chinese restaurants I dine at so I usually opt out of the lo mein. This place has really good food. The veggies on the chicken cashew dish were perfectly cooked with just a little bit of crunch left in them. No one likes soggy, overcooked veggies.
I was very happy with my meal, the service, and the overall experience.
