"Restaurateur Eddy Cheung of University Village’s Jade Court has died at age 69, the Sun-Times reported, and his family has closed the restaurant at South Racine Avenue indefinitely as they decide how to proceed. A call to the restaurant went unanswered." - Naomi Waxman

"Located near UIC, this Cantonese spot from a former Phoenix co-founder has garnered considerable buzz in recent months. The selection of dim sum isn’t as extensive as some of the Chinatown mainstays but all of the greatest hits are here. Start the day with har gow, turnip cake, shumai, and more." - Jeffy Mai

This place is second to none. It's a very family friendly restaurant, with an exceptional wait staff. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend Jade Court. BYOB

Amazing food!! I went with four friends and we all loved what we ordered. From the appetizers to the main meals, oh my it was fantastic. The chef showed us the lobster we were going to have and it was huge! And it was delicious!!! This is such a great gem! I want to keep it a secret but I think everyone should go here! It did receive a bib gourmand!!

I recently went here with my robotics team (the competition was at UIC), and we had our food presented family style. I am not sure if the food is normally served family style or not, (maybe for big groups only) so just keep that in mind. There was a teapot at the table that was refilled often despite a full house. The food we ordered came at an appropriate time (not late but also not super quick) and was very delicious. I recommend the orange chicken (it was some of the best chicken I have ever had) and the Mongolian beef. Overall, this is a good restaurant to dine in (I have never had takeout at the time of this review) and was not too expensive Overall: 11/12

I have to say I was disappointed in trying out this place. I heard about other reviews saying its possibly the one of best Chinese restaurants in Chicago right now. I don't think it's the best for even Cantonese cuisine, let alone all as a representation of the best of Chinese cooking. One thing to note is though they say they are open all day, they actually stop cooking in between 3-5pm. Also the execution on a lot of dishes leaves me lukewarm. The only good dish I tried out of the five was the sesame beef and that's really just a typical American Chinese dish. Not to mention the location is weird.

We hosted our daughter and future son-in-law's rehearsal dinner/out-of-town guest party at Jade Court. It was the most pleasant experience ever! The owners were wonderful to deal with and the food was outstanding! They did an amazing job! Two thumbs way up!

Really good orange chicken. All white meat. I got lunch special with fried rice, egg roll & drink for $11. Would definitely go back. Loved the tea as well, nice touch!

This rating only applies to takeout. Pretty solid stuff, but on the pricy side. Not the greatest once I got back to work, but definitely on the better end of Chinese takeout (especially with limited West loop options). The interior is pretty and well maintained, which makes me feel they'd probably get a better rating if I'd sat down and took the time to explore their menu with some friends.

They have some excellent dishes. Seafood is fresh. However, the quality of the rest is up and down. Service is also lacking. Could be top notch with a professional wait staff. Need to ask for specials because the server won't tell you what they are.
