"Cheese is a staple in both the diets and culture of Vorarlberg, so it makes sense that käsespätzle is deeply ingrained in the local way of life. Jagdgasthaus may be the most popular spot to get the cheesy egg-noodle dish in the region. The Egender family uses cheese made from the cows that graze in pastures just outside the inn. Join locals who hike in from Sibratsgfäll or Schönenbach for some serious carbo loading." - Michelle Tchea

Following an extended walk, my siblings and I enjoyed a late Wednesday lunch. The service was prompt, courteous, and efficient, even with the restaurant's considerable patronage. Generous portions and delicious food were served at reasonable prices. I highly recommend this establishment.

Very nice Kaseknöpfle and amazing service. You can buy local cheese too. Parking available 5min walk from the place.

I always have to stand in line for their Käseknöpfle and it is always worth it. Portions are massive! No space for the deliciously looking dessert…

Amazing food and service! I can’t say enough positive things about the lunch I shared with my friends. Beautiful views just add to the overall experience. Come, spend the day, go on a hike and soak up the scenery.

A great way to experience the local culture, even as a local! It’s the ideal final stop after a day of hiling in the surrounding mountains and a perfect place to take your friends from abroad. You have to order the Käsespätzle, they’re some of the best in the region.

Beautiful place which is famous for its Käsknöpfle, and rightly so, they are the perfect reward after the hike or mountainbike tour that leads up there. Even more so if the bike ride was done without ebike. ;)

We had Käsespätzle , perfect for cool day. Real farm atmosphere, complete with tractor muck spreading to entertain us.

Yelp
If you don't live out here, chances are you will never know about this place. However having a friend in a nearby village was key for me. We took an early drive through the mountains, through a one car width toll road, and then ended up in the secluded valley of Schönenbach No your cell phones dont work out here and folks that are here dont want to be found. However they have a lively pub that also sells really good food. One of the most traditional dishes of this area are Käsknöpfle, which are dumplings made with a combo of local Alpine cheeses, flour/water dough, and fried onions. Of course my friend knew all the good stuff, so we got a local sausage/cheese salad with vinaigrette, a few local cheeses, and we were set. Holy fuck was this good, and I had just eaten not too long ago. The vinaigrette was great with the salad, the local cheeses and the bread! I couldnt stop eating... So in the chance that you happen to be in the Alps bordering Switzerland and Germany in Austria, see if you can find this place. It's well worth it.
