Chinatown - Jaho Coffee Roaster & Wine Bar

I took the day off from work and my kids are not with me... so what am I doing with this precious free-me-time? I am sitting on a comfy couch inside Jaho, sipping on my amazing OG Chai Latte, munching on my crunchy spinach pie, immersing myself in the vibe and writing this review. My life is literally so perfect right now. I so wish for this place to exist where I live back in NJ. I would spend many more future precious free-me-time here in the future... downing some alcoholic boba. Because their cocktail menu seems literally my cup of tea (and then some). But who knows? Jaho, may we meet again.

Menu selection is extensive, love the all day breakfast and sandwich options. Bug fan of the Chicken Caesar Salad wrap and the Ham & Cheese sandwich! I ordered a brown sugar milk tea + tapioca pearls + coffee jelly. The only off-putting thing was how soft the pearls were. The drink is on the sweeter side but I’m okay with it. The baristas are all so sweet and work so hard, too! Will be back to try the coffee.

BEST tiramisu. Seriously. I like it much better than Eataly’s, Mike’s Pastry’s, and Tatte’s. It’s in a convenient grab and go cup, as is the also very tasty mango sticky rice pudding. I also love the $5 bag of 6 delicious day-old bagels (which still have excellent texture). They have many appealing options for drinks, including alcohol + coffee (or a matchatini). The cherry blossom / sakura matcha with boba special was so good. Varied fun seating in a nice atmosphere for working or chilling.

I absolutely love this place. The matcha is the best in class. The selection has great varieties for coffees and teas and something stronger later in the day. This is great place to coworker or grab a cup of coffee to go.

Jaho is a lovely spot with amazing iced coffee drinks and bagels. Other stuff might be great too, but I’ve only had iced coffee and bagels. The bagels are seriously so good and the iced coffee drinks are yummy and cute. I’ve been coming into Boston a lot to visit my family member who is in the hospital at Tufts and Jaho brings a little tiny bit of joy and whimsy to my day. ✨

I love visiting Jaho. I always order the same thing and the staff is incredible. Any time I ever have any questions, Entela is always very happy to help. She is so kind and happy to be there. The cafe is always very clean, the food is tasty and fresh, and the staff are very attentive. Thank you for a good spot to meet a friend for coffee, or a quick break from work or school.

This is just my kind of place because it has coffee as well as coffee cocktails—so amazing. After dinner I was craving something sweet but also wanted that bitter kick of espresso, and Jaho Cafe was perfect since it was open until 11 p.m. My partner and I got espressos, while one of our friends tried the Dubai chocolate coffee, which was fantastic. To go with the drinks, we shared the bowl tiramisu and the Tres Leches cake, both of which were absolutely delicious. The space itself has plenty of cozy seating, with people studying or just hanging out, giving it a really nice vibe. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their desserts and hopefully explore the cocktail bar next time—it’s such a great spot.

Jaho has an array of great coffee and matcha options with unique flavors. My favs are the strawberry matcha, kulfi latte, and a hot latte with rose syrup. I hope they bring back the pizza sandwich because it was an elevated caprese I came in for all the time. The people are very kind and it’s a nice cafe to work from! 10/10. Pictured: Kulfi latte

This was another spot we walked by and I knew I wanted to come back for coffee in the morning. The space is so pretty with its unique decor and high ceilings. The drink menu is what caught my eye though. They have the most unique lattes! They also have boba teas and cocktails. I got the Iced Kulfi Latte which is what drew me in because they had a picture on their window and it looked so beautiful! It tasted just as good as it looked. It wasn't too sweet and the subtle rose flavor was really nice with the coffee. My fiancé got the Iced Dubai Latte. He really liked it and it was good and also beautiful, but not as tasty as my drink. I will come back to Jaho again when I'm in Boston!

Cute cozy cafe with a lot of options for pastries and drinks. I ordered a croissant that was soft, buttery and flaky! I also ordered the Cookies & Cream Frosticcino which was good. I will be back to try more things on the menu.

The coffee was great but the food was not. I loved all the different flavors and milk alternative options. I ordered a black sugar matcha with macadamia milk and it was perfect! The matcha was not at all bitter, there were no powdery clumps and the black sugar almost made it taste like a boba milk tea. My fiancé got the oatmeal cookie latte and it was delicious! I loved the packaging and all the seating options. We didn't care for the food. It was a little pricey for what you got and there are so many better options around in the area. Overall, I would go back for the coffee and vibes but skip the food.

Loved the brown sugar matcha. The flavor was delicious! Perfect sweetness level and tasty! Enjoyed the atmosphere, have charging ports. Order on a kiosk. Had some cheese and spinach pastry was super good! Recommend!

This is my favorite coffee shop in the main Boston area. To be honest, I didn't really like their coffee all that much. But the vibes here are absolutely immaculate. The seating is comfortable, there's tons of chargers, and there's free water. Additionally, their soft serve is some of the best I've ever had. Jaho Coffee in Chinatown is my work-from-home safe-spot.

For a late night Boba run I was really excited to Go to Jaho. They had a great menu selection and their seating area was fun and full of vibrant colors. I got the matcha strawberry boba which was creamy and had a great taste. The cashier was very friendly and helpful when it came to asking questions and ordering. They are open late which was also a huge plus & super close to my hotel. I would give them a try if you are out and about for a late night or you need to satisfy a craving.

My cousin and I were visiting Boston for the first time in February and were craving some hot cocoa in the evening as we're from Texas, and we don't really do winter like y'all do. We need some warmth! Our airbnb was located in DT, so this was about a 15 minute walk for us. Pretty easy to find on the intersection of Washington and Lagrange. Walking in, the atmosphere was pretty cozy with dim lights and soft cafe music. Plenty of seating around even with a good amount of people chilling and studying. There's an easy to navigate touch menu on the left hand side of the bar that allows touch pay, and then you'll just pick up from the bar whenever your order is ready. We ended up both ordering the Oreo hot chocolate, and boy was it good! Creamy and rich without being too sweet, which is probably the best compliment I could give for a sweet treat like that. Definitely would come back and get it again. The only reason I took off a star was that the service was subpar. While I understand that I carry some responsibility for checking on the status of my drink, I didn't even get notified, either by text or by name, that it was ready. The place wasn't even busy at that point.

I was in town for a work conference and had to be up early both days. Jaho was one of the only coffee shops nearby that were open at 7am. The first time, I ordered ahead the night before. When I got to the shop, my order wasn't ready and I had to prove that I ordered ahead for them to make my order. The bagel with butter was super buttery. The coffee was great and comes in an easy transportable cup. The second time, I ordered 15 minutes before heading to the shop & my order was ready as soon as I got there.

Finally went back and got my favorite taro slushie again-- this time with the $6 "make it boozy" on any drink. They were out of vanilla vodka :( but they put a reasonable amount of Baileys in it. Very good combo, would do that again!

Stopped in my tracks when walking by Jaho as they had a sign for a matchatini! I had to try this. I do wish I had slowed down and reviewed the menu further because all of the drink options sounded so delicious. Ordered my matchatini and found a seat along the bar. The decor of the place is trendy and modern. My drink was brought out to me once it was ready. It was delicious, the matcha worked well with the gin and vermouth. Not too strong. I enjoyed sitting in the cafe, charging my phone, and taking in the cozy atmosphere. People were hanging out reading and on their laptops. Good vibes.

Decided to try Jaho coffee as we were walking through Chinatown. The coffee drink was really good but definitely not the friendliest staff.

Jaho Coffee is a place I always go to when I visit Boston. I've tried their maple soy latte and the blended green tea boba drink. Today I got the iced strawberry matcha. Every time I go the drinks have been solid. They also have such cute cups! I highly recommend trying this place if you are in Boston.

I love Jaho. I usually go to the one in Salem, but was in town so we got bubble tea on Washington Street. Was great. The consistency between locations is nice to see. Though I didn't eat anything, I must say that the food at Jaho in Salem seems much Better. This location is a bit worn down, and when I went to the facilities, I was quite surprised to see that their decoration in the bathroom was to hang 10 different toilet paper dispensers, but the important thing is that the bubble tea is consistently excellent the people working in town are also very very good just like in Salem When I've gotten bubble tea elsewhere, I have not finished it and not liked it at all. That deserves five stars, right?

What a fun little spot! I stopped here for a cup of coffee this morning and some breakfast. The oatmeal cookie latte was a great way to start the morning. Highly recommend. The staff was friendly and efficient and the shop has a great vibe. I've never been to a coffee and wine bar but now I want to go back

I love it here! I got an iced strawberry matcha latte with oat milk and a pizza bagel. I ordered at the kiosk inside the cafe which I always love to have as an option. This is a cute coffee shop and my food and drink tasted really great. The only thing I wish they'd change is using reusable plates and glass cups to serve those of us who aren't taking our items to go. Maybe that was an option and I just missed it tho.

Gotta love a great Kahlua hot chocolate during the winter season! The service was quick and the bartender was super friendly! The ambience had a cool and cozy setting to it!

The coffee was delicious and came in the cutest cups, kinda wish I got iced because that cup was cuter lol but fun flavors of coffee! We tried two different kinds and they were both equally yummy. Kind of weird they forgot the egg on the bagel sandwich or maybe we had to click it separately on the kiosk?

I walked by the place a dozen of times on my way to lunch and finally decided to come in. The menu is extensive with many appealing options, including Vietnamese drip coffee. However for new shops I often order basic drinks as I can judge their style of beans best. Ordered a latte. This is worst than my hotel Keurig cup coffee. It is so watery, and there is a slightly burn aftertaste. If their espresso is this bland, I don't want to know their regular coffee! They better not make Vietnamese drip coffee with this same wimpy bean type. The tiny empanada cost $6, and it is mushy. Yup, have you heard of a good and mushy empanada? Overall it tasted like it was left over from last week and they popped it in the microwave for a quick refresher. To add insult to injury, all the couches and chairs inside are old and most are broken... I decided to sit at the bar where the stools didn't seem to fall apart... lo and behold the darn metal bar foot rest fell down when I rested 1 foot on it... Why they still get 1 star? Because Yelp doesn't allow zero star, and the place did not smell like a toilet. Never coming back.

I'm a frequent at Jaho but not usually this location. The workers at this location are extremely rude, unprofessional, and got my order wrong. I rlly love Jaho but this location is not the one I'd recommend. I absolutely love the staff at the Prudential location and their beverages are good just not the staff and enviorment the staff provides.

Shit service, great coffee. Yelp says I have to write 85 characters for a review. Okay that should do it.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon to do work and ordered the Kulfi latte. AMBIENCE: 5/5 I love coming to Jaho to work because of how spacious and airy it is. In particular, I love the high top seats, because they allow me to alternate between sitting and standing. My table had lots of built in outlets, which was a must-have for cafe work. The Wi-Fi was reliable and quick. The cafe was mostly quiet, and I felt like I was able to focus pretty well. DRINK: 3/5 The Kulfi latte is one of their seasonal flavors. While the first few sips were yummy and flavorful, I quickly got overwhelmed by how sweet the drink was. I would recommend adjusting the sweetness to your liking! The drink was pretty expensive (almost $8), but the cup was pretty large. I do wish there were more size options for iced drinks and menu prices were displayed, though. Overall, a great place to get work done while sipping on a beverage!

I didn't know coffee shops could be swanky until I discovered Jaho. With comfy seating leather couch and upbeat electronic music, I half expected a cover charge and bottle service. Probably not the place you want to go to do work if you like a quieter setup. The place definitely has character and has the lounge feel down for the morning and evening with its Industrial vibes and bar. The oatmeal cookie latte was tasty. A bit on the sweeter side but I did get the cookie taste. At $6.50 for a small, it was much pricier than I expected but I'm glad I tried it.

The good: their iced drinks! They have creative and unique seasonal menu items like iced kulfi lattes and iced Spanish lattes, which are really awesome! I love the quality and texture of the crushed ice they use in the drinks. The cups for both cold and hot drinks are really cute and aesthetic. The breakfast sandwiches are good too. They also have nice indoor and outdoor seating. The meh: a lot of things here are quite expensive. The menu on display doesn't always have everything that's actually available. Some items on their menu are more on the mediocre side. The soft serve is pretty good, but not amazing. The worst: I got a pre-made yogurt parfait once and the granola was sitting on top of the yogurt without any separation, and it was completely soggy. Super off-putting. Definitely do not get that.

We popped in to Jaho to provide us with a caffeine source and scratch the itch of anything-other-than-coffee-for-the-love-of-god. I love that you can order ahead, which I didn't know at the time and didn't matter much because our drinks were served quickly but this can really come in handy if you're pressed for time. I also love that the ordering is done on a screen instead of talking to a human and I think most of us support interacting with other humans as little as possible lmao. That is another reason the dunkin app is so fucking clutch, na'mean? Anyways, getting back on track here, we both ordered a bubble tea. I went with my ride-or-die taro and GF ordered a green tea version. Both were spectacular and didn't last long. I also enjoy the alcoholic options but had to take a raincheck at that particular time.

The flavor of the drinks was good, but the brown sugar boba was hard and not tasty at all. If you're going to get a drink, definitely skip out on the $1 boba. And the ice is huge! I could barely get my straw to the bottom when I first put it in. Lots of seating and a good place to relax.

This place is 100% not worth it and EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. I ordered a milk tea with boba and the drink tasted like straight milk, no tea at all. Plus, it was $8. The barista remade the drink, but it tasted the same. My friend ordered tea and the same issue happened with her drink. It tasted funky, they remade it, yet it tasted the same. I do have to say that their boozy bubble tea is very good! I don't remember the exact price for the margaritas or the boozy bubble tea but they were both around $12-14. They customer service is not excellent but the cafe has a nice seating area. If you're planning to go to Jaho for their regular bubble tea, don't. Overall rating: 3/10

Their Chai is very sweet (and kind of watered down when iced) but tastes similar to Starbucks and is great when hot. If you love sugary drinks then this is for you. Very overpriced though so enter at your wallets risk.

Came here on a weekday around 10:45 AM for coffee. There was not a lot of people, but there is plenty of space to sit and work or chat with friends. I liked the design of the store. It feels sleek and is designed for a good amount of people. You can't miss the large JAHO sign outside. I got the Spanish latte. I wasn't sure how it differentiated from a regular latte. It was sweet but not overbearingly so. The cups were really hot so we waited a while for the drinks to cool down before we sipped on it. I think there is a sleeve built into the thick cups, although I wish we were able to get another one. Service was fine. Prices are okay, kind of expensive but I think that's normal for lattes nowadays.

I ordered a decaf latte today at 12:30 pm on their kiosk. They gave me a regular latte as evidenced by the fact that I'm wide awake at midnight and was talking a mile a minute this afternoon. Not a huge deal but not great. Please be more careful.

I love this place! It is such a cute coffee spot. All of their snacks are also so good. My favorites are the Mango Boba and the Baileys spiked coffee. There are several of these throughout the city! They are super accessible! The service is always great. No complaints!

My friend ordered an Irish Hot Coffee, and I ordered the same with baileys. My drink was $19 pretax, and $22.23 after tip and tax. My drink on the right was almost half the size than a normal priced drink somehow! The barista was rude and dismissive when I asked about it. I shouldn't have tipped for the service I for, and for half the product. Horrible.

We ordered from Jaho for breakfast. The empanada was not worth the price. It lacked flavor and filling. My husband did not enjoy the breakfast sandwich-he said it was super dry. The overnight oats were also a dis's appointment. They lacked flavor, besides the mountain of cinnamon sprinkled on top. I don't recommend this place.

My friends and I walked in not knowing anything about the place. Lovely atmosphere. Very cute cafe. I was surprised to see that they served alcoholic bevvies as well. A bit expensive and not in the it's-worth-it kind of way. Unless I missed it, there were no prices on the menu. So you either have to constantly ask or play register roulette. I got a slice of cake from the pastry box. I hadn't even been craving cake. It looked so delicious so I had to try it. It was $10, stale and very dry. Ugh. Lattes were also pricey - I think about $9 each. While there was a lot of volume in the cup, my friends said they were far too sweet after initial sips.

I enjoyed my time here. Affordable hipster kind of place in China Town. Pictured are two hot drinks: Bourbon and Cider and a hot Mulled Wine. (Check sp.) Not pictured: Reindeer Blood. Walking distance from South Station and quick service. We there on a Sunday night so it had a steady but calm turnout. Most groups looked like they were there to be social, but I can imagine stopping by here to read safely social distance with a good drink. Hot drinks on a Sunday night might be something worth living in Boston for.

First, you need to order through touch panel thing and have to put your phone number. It is annoying: why the shop needs phone numbers? Then, I got cappuccino and it was watery. Not good. The cup (paper) design is not sophisticated---no choice to get a normal mug. Too expensive for the quality. Soon after I left the shop, already they sent an advertising email. How could they know the email address? I don't like their behavior.

I was in China Town walking around and boom. Right in front was this coffee shop. When I walked in, it was such a cute shop. Wine bar/coffee shop? Pretty cool. Ordered a flat white and wasn't bad at all! Espresso popped nicely. Oatmilk was steamed perfectly. Experience overall was great. The only thing is that the place was superrr hot in there. I'll come with a t-shirt next time.

Came here on a Monday afternoon and it wasn't too full or too empty - a few people sitting and in line. The decor was really nice! I like the aesthetic and have been wanting to try this place for a while as I always pass it when walking around Chinatown. I'm probably should've gotten their coffee or even an alcoholic drink ( their menu for dranks looked very interesting ) as it seems like those are more of their staples, especially since this was my first experience with them. My oatmeal cookie latte was literally just drinking sugar - it was overly sweet and really hard to finish, honestly. The person I went with just told me to throw it away after one sip - that's how unbearable it was. The cup it came in as well seemed really cheap as even the slightest squeeze made the top pop off so my walk with the drink was very difficult seeing as the container wasn't very durable. I would not recommend this drink at all, but I'm willing to give Jaho another chance. Next time though I'll probably get a coffee or anything other than their lattes!

Texture: Vietnamese Coffee was so smooth and silky, a friend recommended me the coconut jelly and it complimented the coffee very well Pricing: $6.50 for the coffee another dollar for the jelly add on. Both together tax included was around $15 Ambiance: very open and spacious, not too overwhelming in colors Seating & Parking: no parking in front, is occupied by a bus lane, is a 2 minute walk from China Town station though Service: we used self check out kiosks but the ladies were very kind Music: a mix of smooth jazz and elevator music, was played very quiet, The sounds of soft chatter and keyboards clicking masked the music Bathrooms: male and female bathrooms Final comments: a great spot for coffee and by far my favorite Vietnamese coffee

I've passed by this place a thousand times and have always thought this cafe was made more for business meetings or after-hour, forced socialization from your corporate company or something. I was pleasantly surprised when I talked in. You can tell it's a chain based on the iPads for people to order on and I slightly disliked it since I expect cafes to be more personal. I think it ruins the vibe (in my humble opinion). I see it as a trendy cafe that has an elegant exterior. This is a great place to do work since there is quite a bit of seating. I appreciate the layout a lot! There are nice tables on the side to do laptop work, high chairs in bar style throughout the place for contemplating life while people watch through the window and some comfortable chair sittings to have your deep 1:1s throughout the place for a casual vibe. I ordered a lavender vanilla latte and it was pretty good. I can't taste the vanilla, pretty much at all, but the lavender comes through nicely. It tastes like a quality latte but doesn't have any of the sweetness that I anticipated. I really enjoyed it! It was 6 dollars for a small latte and was really hoping it would come out in a cute cup, but it was a takeaway cup :(. Overall pretty good, I will definitely come back again for the vibes.

Coffee and wine for all morning and night!! It's a great place to hangout to do some work and to wine down with friends. The service is great and I love the vibe of the shop.

Terrific drinks with great options. The only thing I don't like is that when they don't have a a topping you ordered, Jaho only offer substitutions and no refund for the fee.

The are doing great with covid precautions. You can dine in, but there's very limited seating, spaced apart at least 6 feet. Oatmeal cookie latte - really delicious treat. The coffee flavor is still very prevalent, but the sweetness and oat milk make you think you're having an oatmeal cookie, in liquid form. The Boston Cream Pie was also excellent. Large chunk that is big enough to share. They have various other treats and savory options to choose from,but we were just stopping in for a quick pitstop. Staff were all super nice, and got the orders out quickly.

I don't get Jaho's hype - sorry. I do enjoy the vibes when it's not crowded but 95% of the time, ITS PACKED IN THERE. The coffee is definitely just average - and overpriced. But I will say they are a bit creative with their drinks... but it's not amazing. However, my bff and I got a cocktail here and it was one of the worst cocktails I've ever had. It wasnt even a complicated one so I basically paid 12$+ for something I didn't even want to finish. I wouldnt come here on my own free will but if my friends were dying to go, i guess I'll come back.

This is my first negative review on Yelp. I ordered a cortado. It was decently made. The two stars is because the barista was probably the most rude barista I have encountered in the last year. I have frequented coffee shops all over the country in the past few month. The way I was treated here today was uncalled for. I am still trying to figure out what went wrong. I ALWAYS warmly greet baristas because I generally like to learn about the area, the shop and the coffee. The barista treated me like I was interrupting her time. I ordered one cortado she rang me up for two. I didn't realize it. Honestly, I was probably distracted because I was looking around the place. I honestly don't blame her for it. When she handed me two cortados I was confused and told her that I only ordered one. She gave me the ugliest look. I told her not to worry about it. I don't mind drinking two. She pulled the cup away from my reach and said that she would refund me for one. So I walked over to the register and she said that she didn't need me she would text her manager. It's wasn't the words she used it was her manners and her tone. Still a bit stunned.

Was in the Boston area looking for some caffeine. I came across Jaho Coffee Roaster & Wine Bar. The place inside was packed (as packed as it can be during COVID-19). They have a lot of seating space in and outdoors, however since it was so busy, there was no dine in space available. The menu has a lot of different item. I decided to try the Iced Hanoi (Vietnamese coffee). Ordering was simple and the barista made my drink in no time. The drink itself had really good coffee flavour. However it was a little too sweet. Next time, I'll definitely see if I can adjust the ice and sweetness level. Overall, nice place to work, read or just chill!

I'm not really sure what happened this particular day that I went in but when I actually had to speak to someone who worked behind the counter, the girl was very snarky when I asked a question. And my drink was pretty horrible. I basically got a glass of iced milk with a sprinkle of cardamom. I ordered the Kulfi latte. On previous occasions, the drinks were at least tasty. Service is ALWAYS questionable. Especially having the order kiosks available. So, in the event that a customer has to actually speak to an employee and God forbid, ask a question about an item on the menu, they seem particularly annoyed and inconvenienced. This is always a stop for me when coming/going to South Station but I believe that will no longer be. My money is definitely appreciated elsewhere.

After having been to both Chinatown and Back Bay branch, and trying more off the menu I figured it was time for an updated review: Food I've tried: - Frosticcino ($~7): their version of the frappuccino. I found the coffee flavor to be a bit burnt and tasting diluted. The sweetness was a bit more subtle compared to the traditional sugar bomb you would expect in a Starbucks frappuccino. Atmosphere: - I do appreciate how Jaho stays open quite late whereas usually cafes in Boston seem to close around 6pm. - There is definitely a cozy vibe, making it suitable for both dates or studying. I personally like the Back Bay branch better in terms of coziness, but it is a subtle difference. Service: - The staff keep up well with the busy influx of customers. Overall: - I decided to change my 5 stars to 4 stars. I initially gave it 5 stars because I was delighted in the strange combination of alcohol and coffee this place offered, and there was an element of fun trying the different menu options. I do feel that each time, I have been a wee bit disappointed in the flavors that I got. Yes the drinks were good but eh they could be better, especially because the price is definitely on the high side. - So overall, I would recommend this place for the novelty and the cozy vibes but not necessarily for the flavor itself.

Jaho Coffee Roaster & Wine Bar literally has everything at affordable prices. If you like soft service ice cream and rice then I'd recommend trying the Japanese Soft Serve Ice Cream.
