Best Honky-Tonks in Nashville Serve Live Country Music Nearly Nonstop | Eater Nashville

"Lauded country music singer Jason Aldean entered the hospitality business in 2018 with Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop, which quickly won fans thanks to an expansive rooftop offering some of the best views on Broadway and a kitchen serving everything from hot chicken and waffles to filet mignon. The lowest level is an open dining room perfect for grabbing a bite to kick off your evening before your journey through the mezzanine and VIP levels on your way to the roof. No matter which floor you choose, you’ll find live music and fast-paced bars, including one centered around a classic John Deere tractor — a nod to Aldean’s hit song “Big Green Tractor.”" - Kellie Walton

Jason Aldean’s Kitchen and Rooftop Bar Involved in Legal Battle - Eater Nashville

"A Broadway bar goes from bro-country to legal battle — as The Blast reports a lawsuit against Jason Aldean’s Kitchen and Rooftop Bar, filed by a former cook. In the lawsuit, former cook Cindy Galeano alleges that Aldean’s Kitchen and Rooftop Bar never paid her overtime when she regularly worked more than 40 hours a week between May and September of 2018, and that she was fired the day after she questioned management regarding payment. Galeano is represented by Morgan & Morgan, and is suing for money she believes she is owned, plus damages. No comment yet from Jason Aldean’s Kitchen and Rooftop Bar, which opened last June — a 30,000-square-foot beacon for bachelorette parties and tourists of all types, complete with a gift store, space for 1500 people, and a John Deere tractor." - Delia Jo Ramsey

Where to Eat Nachos in Nashville | Eater Nashville

"The debate about queso or shredded cheese on nachos is never-ending, but at this lower Broadway bro-country bar, the hardest decision to make is when best to go to avoid the bachelorette parties. These Southern nachos are kettle chips piled with smoked pulled pork, bacon, chives, bourbon bbq sauce, cheddar, and queso." - Delia Jo Ramsey

Stopped in here for food and drinks and was not disappointed. We were seated right away..right up by the band..perfect spot. We ordered food and drinks and our food came out in less than 15 minutes. It was very very good. The live music here is amazing and we also loved the rooftop with the DJ.extremely crowded but that is to be expected. Great place and we had a great time! We will be back. I highly recommend this business.

Visited on our first night in Nashville. We knew nothing about the place and took a chance after seeing lots of people go in. We struck lucky and had a fantastic evening. We waited about 20 minutes for a table (at 8pm on a Saturday night) and then got seated in front of the stage. Bonus! The band were great (we saw the Aly Cutter Band). They interacted well with the audience and played a good mix of music. The food was great and was served quickly. Around 9.30 - 10pm they start clearing the tables at the front to make room for a dance floor. We watched the band from an upstairs balcony for a bit but didn't stay to boogie!

Google
Food was pretty good atmosphere was great. People watching was exceptional, live music playing in the back for anyone on here, saying the food was overpriced. Then you should probably go down the street to. McDonald's and get a big Mac Happy mail The whole point of having fun in Nashville is spending a little bit of money and letting loose. So, walk up the stairs and enjoy a good time. Don't take my word for it, but this isn't great spot.

Google
My first time in Nashville! It was such a nice vibe. Everyone was nice, the band took requests and interacted with the crowd. I went on a Monday around 12 before my flight and it was perfect. The drinks are a little pricey, but you are in the main city so it made sense. Great views, clean restrooms, and amazing music. 10/10 recommend

Google
Super fun atmosphere, right on Broadway which means walking distance to everything. Great drinks and excellent menu. Steaks in this place are some of the best you can try just about anywhere. Highly recommend showing up with a big appetite or with a couple of friends to share. Portions are huge..

Google
Had a wonderful time here! Food, service, drinks and atmosphere were great. Music was equally great; only bar that we went to that had real country music, the other places had very loud rap/head banger bands. Highly recommend! 🤠

Google
Service on rooftop was amazing, main floor was rude and garbage . Just flat nasty, almost left from first impression. Decided to move to rooftop instead. service was great on rooftop!! Entertainment wasn’t as good . We will take good service over entertainment any day. Didn’t eat so we cannot speak on the food.

Google
Living in downtown Nashville just off Broadway, I have the opportunity to explore a wide range of restaurants and local spots — and I take full advantage. From new openings to well-established favorites, I’ve experienced much of what the city has to offer. One standout that continues to impress is Jason Aldean’s. Whether you’re a local or visiting for the first time, this place should be at the top of your list. With its vibrant atmosphere, friendly service (Kahli) excellent food, and nod to Nashville’s musical roots, it truly captures the spirit of the city.

Ava V.

Yelp
I had a lot of fun at this bar especially because of the amazing bands that play there (Lazer and Levi)!! Only issue I have is that is smells like actual vomit by the top floor stage!
google avatar

Yelp
Music is good and not super loud Service is good Ambiance is amazing Had the buffalo chicken dip and it was really good We have had the nachos in another location and they are great too

Yelp
Jason Aldean's Rooftop Bar is hands down the best spot on Broadway! The moment you step onto the rooftop, you're greeted with stunning panoramic views of Nashville that take your breath away. Watching the sun set over the city while enjoying a cold drink is an experience like no other. The atmosphere is electric as there is lively music on every floor of this bar and a great crowd, and a vibe that perfectly captures the essence of Music City. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure your experience is top-notch from start to finish. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this place is a must-see. The food and drinks are also fantastic, with a wide variety of options that cater to every taste. If you're looking for the perfect spot to soak in the Nashville nightlife, Jason Aldean's Rooftop Bar is it. I can't recommend it enough as it is my must stop every trip.

Yelp
This place is definitely packed but the food came pretty quickly! They were very busy, but the wait staff wasn't very kind when we interacted with them nor the bartender. We got the Waygu slides & pulled pork nachos. The nachos were delicious! I would skip on the sliders next time, the meat didn't taste great. Drinks are pricey for the amount of booze they give and the quality but it's exactly what you would expect going in! Ambiance goes along with the rest of broadway with rooftop views and live music.
google avatar

Amani A.

Yelp
This venue is huge; I think it has four or possibly five levels, and it was surprisingly crowded for a Monday. I sat at the bar where the service was decent, but it was quite difficult to hear amidst the noise. The food was just average, and there weren't many options for those who are gluten-free. Unfortunately, the drinks left much to be desired.
google avatar

Isles G.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our lunch here. I especially loved their nachos and hot chicken sandwich. The coleslaw was great too. The service was excellent! We Loved the music too! We had a great time.
google avatar

Remi W.

Yelp
Definitely one of the best bars on broadway! Multiple levels which adds to the atmosphere. The rooftop is great. Very spacious and amazing views.
google avatar

Brett B.

Yelp
Another great experience at Aldeans. This place consistently has really great food, excellent music, and really friendly staff who take good care of you. The french fries are boring, but that's the closest thing to a complaint I can come up with.
google avatar

Megan A.

Yelp
This was our first stop in Nashville. It is a huge three story place and we opted for the second floor where we could actually hear ourselves over the music! Sat at the bar and had margaritas and a hot chicken sandwich. Service was good, band was great, food and margaritas were okay. I did like the jalapeño slaw on the sandwich!
google avatar

Tony V.

Yelp
During my trip to Nashville, I dined at Jason Aldean's Kitchen and Bar. The servers were full of enthusiasm, and there was always live music on stage. I tried the vegetarian burger, and it was absolutely divine, prompting me to return multiple times. I highly recommend this spot to everyone. Yeehaw'!
google avatar

Destiny G.

Yelp
It was a good time at the restaurant and at the rooftop bar. The restaurant was fast with the food order, the food was good. Then we headed upstairs to enjoy more music. The rooftop inside had a live band, and the balcony area outside had other music playing. It was a fun atmosphere! The bartenders were all nice.
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
This place surprised me with how good the food was! Service was slow considering the section we sat in upstairs wasn't full. The music was great and I'd definitely come back for the Thor's hammer meal, worth every penny!
google avatar

Rebecca B.

Yelp
Had a great time at Jason Aldean's !!! We were in town for a soccer tournament and took our 16yr old boys. They were very accommodating for the size of our group and were gracious about the boys needing to leave by 8pm unless we were all eating. Food was great but music was even better!!!! Such a fun time! Looking forward to returning!
google avatar

Amanda V.

Yelp
If insanely loud bars are your thing, you'll love this place. Personally, it's not my scene. The big John deer in the middle of the downstairs bar is cool. The rooftop offers some air but it's always so packed.
google avatar

Vince R.

Yelp
Great food as usual! Fast service, abundant staff helpful and attentive. Seating all over the place here. All ya gotta do is ask! We sat overlooking the street below no problem! Family friendly. Good menu. Everyone enjoyed it! Will go back everytime I'm in town. Tell your friends this place is goood
google avatar

Rick L.

Yelp
Sat at bar and listened to good music. Good service at bar for lunch, Jason's Mac & Cheese was very good. Cappai pasta,m with creamy pepper jack cheese sauce, with bacon and crunchy panko bread crumbs! $19 We added Nashville hot fried chicken. It was an up charge that the bartender didn't tell us about. He should have e told us it would be $4 more or so.
google avatar

Rob C.

Yelp
Great atmosphere multi levels great musicians on every floor. Everyone who works there was so friendly. We only went for drinks but they do have food options so next time we'll have to try the menu.
google avatar

Yan C.

Yelp
Super cool vibes ! Definitely a chill place with a group of friends ! Nice service! Good music !! Nice food!

Yelp
Quan! is the bartender to see at this bar! He will make those drinks delicious, and service with a smile. I liked this vibe. The place has several floors. We went to the 2nd floor, elevator accessible too. The place had a great live country music. The lighting was warm not bright white. The menus are posted outside and each floor has a different one. The menu has to be one of the few restaurants that have more than just bar bites. The price was just right. The food was great, no complaints! Me and friend decided to share two different meals and we left happy and full. Okay folks, let's dish on the dish. The Bavarian Pretzel is like a mini hoagie, you get 4/5. The main eats, I chose was the Spicy Chicken Club with no skimp on the bacon, and the sauce had heat but not Tabasco, it was delish. I shared Jason's Mac and Cheese. Y'all when I tell you mmm m good, I mean mmm m good. It had lots of cheese, bacon pieces ( not crumbs), perfectly cooked pasta, and a pleasant amount of shredded chicken. Forget what you thought you knew was mac n cheese, come get some. This gets 2 thumbs up. I highly recommend this place. I will be back. Happy Eats Y'all!
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The live band was marvelous and took plenty of Taylor Swift requests. Our server Neil was great and very welcoming. He gave us all our recommendations and we took him up on all of them. I absolutely loved everything that I ate and just how friendly Neil was. I will definitely be returning the next time I am in Nashville. Some other recommendations, Neil made were the Spicy Buffalo Chicken Dip, Drowns The Whiskey, What Tequila Does, Chicken & Waffle and Grandma's Pot Roast. The Spicy Buffalo Chicken Dip was so good that I ordered a second one to go. The kettle chips were cooked to perfection and you could sit there listening to the band with a Drowns The Whiskey aka Espresso Martini. It felt as if you were in your living room relaxing. Chicken & Waffle was also delicious and packed a little kick with the spicy pecan maple syrup which I also ordered more of. This paired perfectly with the Drowns The Whiskey. Grandma's Pot Roast was nice and juicy. This was not dried out as I feared it would be. The mashed potato bed that it was on was savory and if you needed a bit of salt then the kettle chips were a great balance. It was very filling and there was plenty of meat to go around. Overall such a great place and for a little happy hour we headed to the rooftop to enjoy the amazing views of downtown but also a DogFish Head Citrus Squall and a Margarita. You should definitely check it out.

Yelp
This bar takes a long time to make it up stairs we waited maybe 20 min in a line- gets really crowded on the weekend. Drinks were great, loved all the bands on the different floors. Felt like security did a good job of watching people, bartenders are great.
google avatar

Samantha H.

Yelp
I had the worst experience here, mainly because of the security staff. First off, this was my first time in Nashville. I now realize basically all these celebrity bars are the same and have the same set up. I doubt Mr. Aldean has much to actually do with this bar. Anyway, we came here for the music and drinks and were hanging out for awhile on the top floor. I went to go to the bathroom and somehow ended up using the bathroom on the floor below us without realizing. Anyway, I came back and got separated from my group I was with and couldn't find them. Because the two floors are almost identical with the stage setup and all I didn't realize I had ended up on the floor below. Finally, after calling my friend I realized this and was like ok I'll meet you on X spot on the third floor. Anyway, I try to go back up and am stopped by the rudest security guy who shows me a huge long line to get back to the third floor of people that haven't gone in yet. He was so rude and the way he talked to me was disgusting. I was lingering by the stairs to get up trying to figure out what to do and he informs me that if I try to go up on my own he will call the police on me. He was on such a power trip and seemed so unhinged that I didn't want to test him and didn't go up. Even though I think the police would have laughed in his face but I didn't want to risk getting into a bad situation and tend to follow the rules. Anyway, I called my friend and she came down and got me and said she's coming up with me and at that point he didn't say anything. So not sure if he was trying to mess with me because I was alone or what. But the situation made me feel very unsafe being separated from my group. Especially considering the story of the guy who was separated from his group at another Nashville bar recently and then found dead in a river. So I don't think I would come back here because of that. Too many other places to go where the security people don't go out of their way to intimidate people.
google avatar

Christina H.

Yelp
Went to the rooftop bar for lunch on an overcast day and had a great time. The music pours out of the third floor level. The bar doesn't have any local Tennessee beer (but I can live with that) and the food offerings are limited but very, very good. Our server Diquan was attentive and I was able to chat with the cook, Albert, when the food computer went down. Note they still took my order of Ribs, Totchos and Funnel Cake Fries (with applesauce). It's a terrific view of Broadway.

natasha C.

Yelp
I've always had a great time here since 2021, but i recently visited this bar as a local and the rooftop dance floor smells like vomit. I had some friend in town and decided to bring them to this bar. I went last night and then I tried again going this afternoon. It smells so bad i had to leave the bar. Wish they would clean this area up more to be able to dance in without the reek of throw up. Love this bar and hope to visit more in the future if they clean up.
google avatar

Nicola L.

Yelp
We had dinner here and man oh man it was so good. My husband got this hugeeee steak and hate the whole dang thing! Music inside was quieter than I thought. Definitely A++ for the food.

Dawn H.

Yelp
Upscale bar food, good place if you want to eat and listen to good music at a honky tonk. Recommend the mac&cheese, portions are big so bring your appetite,
google avatar

Derrick S.

Yelp
Overall service was great! Food was amazing and quick service. Nashville sure knows how to party. Checked out other bars around the area and stopped here to eat!
google avatar

Vicki A.

Yelp
It had potential! Seems like it would be fun to watch a big football game here. We stopped in for a snack & a cocktail. The cocktail was good, the food was not. The Great: love the TV set up! The good: decent drink The bad: the live music was bad The ugly: pulled pork sliders we not edible
google avatar

Charlie Z.

Yelp
Great time and music! I was so surprised to have such a good bar food dinner. We were sat easy with a group of 10 on a Friday night I was very surprised. We sat by the stage and felt like we were back stage watching a concert. The waiters were quick to serve and bring out food and drinks. We stayed to drink on the next level, great times!

Erika ..

Yelp
The menu doesn't have much. We ordered the Mac and Cheese. The chicken was deli style chicken (was told it was grilled chicken). The chili needed a lot of hot sauce to give it flavor. It is a bar with a small selection of food.
google avatar

Jimmy K.

Yelp
I wasn't expecting much as I thought it was just a tourist trap. I was wrong once again. Entertainment, ambiance, food, and service were all top notch. Definitely worth stopping in for a meal.
google avatar

Crystal G.

Yelp
Famous bar on Broadway Recently, in the news or having a barstool thrown off the roof top . After Morgan Wallen had found out that his ex had gotten married . Harsh ...I'm just glad nobody got hurt. What's that saying oh yeah ....The one that got away ! This was the place we spent most of our time to be honest. It's just easy to walk in there let's say that the feng shui is good . Constantly doing a rotation of amazing bands . There's food and drinks. If you accidentally walked down the wrong hall you are all of a sudden in the karaoke bar ! This place is attached to WannaB's Karaoke bar as a fact they share the same restroom . I spent many hours here moving in my boots having the best time ! Five stars! Must come !!! #Should'vePutARingOnIt#LoveMeSomeCountryMusic
google avatar

Cara M.

Yelp
I ordered the sirloin, I've never gotten a steak that came out with sauce... I'll be honest it threw me off but it was GOOD. I love a great steak, and it was just that. I ordered medium rare and it was closer to a medium IMO. I ordered a side salad as well and it was HUGE and only $2.99!!! My husband ordered the brisket sandwich, he said the fries tasted like they came out of a freezer and the brisket sandwich we got from Buc'ees a few days before was better. The entire place was all Jason Alden'd out, if you're into that... you'd love it! They even have an actual tractor on the second floor. Open space, lots of screens, lots to look at and shop to buy merch. Pro tip, The third floor is only for drinks and music!! You can't order food up there. Our server was nowhere to be found. HOWEVER huge shout out to the manager who made space for us to have our big wonderfold wagon table side while my infant twins napped! Usually they ask you park them in a designated spot, but he did accommodate us so we could let our babies sleep while we ate!! I would return and get another steak and big ass salad! Job well done from this spot!
google avatar

Frank M.

Yelp
So good that we ate there twice in the 6 days we were in Nashville. Of course I had to have the mac and cheese and probably the best I've ever had. We sat in a booth with a great view of the singers and the service was solid. If you go there you must try the mac and cheese because it will not disappoint!
google avatar

John I.

Yelp
Great cocktails, great food. Good bands. Had the Meatloaf and Seared Scallops both were excellent!

Stephanie M.

Yelp
My favorite rooftop bar in Nash! This is my third time visiting Nashville, once for a bachelorette, once for a 21sr birthday and this time with my husband. Jason Aldean's is my favorite for each occasion. The rooftop is spacious and we were all able to find a spot to chat and sit. The bartenders were quick and the music was good! The views from the rooftop are incredible.
google avatar

Kristina C.

Yelp
Stopped in after a recommendation to check it out on a trip. It was Saturday and it was crowded as are most places in Nashville on Broadway. We sat at the bar and service was fast and friendly. The peach cobbler was amazing. Servings were large. Good selection of beer. The band was great and entertaining. Would visit again.
google avatar

Lynn E.

Yelp
We loved the atmosphere here and certainly were not surprised given it's Jason Aldean's place. Drinks were reasonably priced for the area. We enjoyed the music while we were there. Our bartender was so helpful as we had just arrived in the area. She even was able to validate our parking which saved us over $30. We would definitely come back here during our next visit.
google avatar

Amanda-lee P.

Yelp
Loved this rooftop. Drinks were great and environment was amazing. Bartenders were friendly and on-point.
google avatar

Tracey Z.

Yelp
The wait was pretty long - an hour and a half for 9 people. When we finally got seated we were next to the stage with live band. I was pretty impressed by these singers, they were going all night. We started with the Buffalo Cauliflower which was pretty good, the bleu cheese dipping sauce was a nice pairing. I got the wedge salad which was pretty standard nothing special. Overall this place is definitely more for the vibe than the food.
google avatar

Joyce K.

Yelp
As our first meal in Nashville, my friends and I went for lunch at Jason Aldean's! There were plenty of available seats when we walked in, but it began to get busier as we ate our meal. There was live music in front of us during the entire meal, which made the whole experience even better! I got the mac and cheese which I actually really enjoyed as it included strips of chicken, bacon bits, and panko for texture. My friend absolutely LOVED her chicken diablo pasta without chicken and she was raving about it for the rest of the day. My friend commented that her sliders seemed really greasy, which decreased the quality of her experience. Overall, the meal was a great start to Nashville and the bar is also really fun at night!
google avatar

Lindsey C.

Yelp
Loooooved this place!! Friendly and attentive staff, they were very accommodating with our food preferences (guilty as Californians ). We went on a Sunday night and it was still crowded!! Kitchen closes at 9:30pm, be aware! We all got salads and such, they were good. Needed to balance out all the drinking with something decently healthy haha. The live bands were good, they turn it into a dance floor further into the night! We did swing dancing and had a lot of fun. Upstairs on the rooftop is a DJ dance floor. Lots of young people, if that's your vibe. They played good music and it was definitely the more crowded area of the two.
google avatar

Kyra T.

Yelp
One of our favorite bars we visited last month! The band was amazing and all the bartenders were kind and attentive. We spent most of our time on the rooftop bar and it was so fun.
google avatar

Paylyn A.

Yelp
Was too hungry to take photos! This place has great drinks, friendly staff, great live music and delicious food. Came here during the day so it wasn't as crowded. Our waitress was super sweet. I Definitely recommend this place!
google avatar

The M.

Yelp
Always enjoy going to Jason Andean's for the music and aperitifs. The atmosphere is one of the best on Broadway. The rooftop is one of the best also. Went this time not only to enjoy the music and drinks, but for dinner also. The food was decent; very nicely presented. See pictures. Two of us had the hot chicken sandwich, one person had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy and one other person had the chicken and waffles. The server was pleasant but did lack personality. Definitely recommend JD's.
google avatar

Tina W.

Yelp
Y'all need to teach the bartender(dark hair, beard and Stache) on the bottom floor some damn manners. He was such a jerk when I tried to order a drink. Super rude to everyone and then had the audacity to complain out loud about a customer not leaving him a tip. Well I wish I could have taken my large tip back. Being in the service industry you work for tips but they are not guaranteed so maybe be NICER to your customers. Big jerk!!!
google avatar

Ann V.

Yelp
We didn't order food just drinks but the vibe during CMA fest was amazing. Amazing music and had a great time. The roof top has a great view too!! The service was great too, staff was friendly.
google avatar

Janet N.

Yelp
The place is very nice with several floor. It does get crowded. We ordered some food and it was just bland.
google avatar

Richard F.

Yelp
Super lively spot here, live music and you can tell everyone was having a GREAT time! My friends and I were visiting Nashville for one of their birthdays, we had a group of 14. We ordered drinks and dinner, the drinks were great! I ordered the Southern Meatloaf as my entree and it was spectacular! Had such great flavor and the crispy onions on top was a great contrast to the meatloaf. The service was just ok, it probably took about 20 minutes for us to recieve our checks which was a downer but overall positive experience! if you come here def. make a reservation - this place was BUSY!
