Javier’s Downtown

I went to Javier’s for my birthday celebration! This was my first time at this venue. I felt the food was good. We really enjoyed the Arabian night !!! Our group was accommodate when asking for a different table. I felt like Dan and his team provided great service and made our group feel welcome! The Arabian night experience was an additional $30 dollars. We enjoyed the Arabian night experience but felt it was pricey for the actual show. We definitely try another event but will book for a later time in the evening.

Went for my sister's birthday dinner. This was everyone's 1st time here. Most of us weren't impressed at all. This place wasn't given real authentic mexican food vibes like real Mexican establishment should, but our drinks were so good. Our waitress, Jennifer, was very intentive. She even stated that this was her 1st week. Everyone has to start somewhere. Good job, Jennifer 👏🏼!

My spouse and I wanted a new place to dine in so I went on Google and this place came up. I want to start off by saying we both had such an amazing experience and I don’t normally do reviews but I just had to make one because we had such a great time here!! The food was a 10/10 and I’m a picky eater. I had no problems with the food everything was so perfect. What I really wanted to say in this review is how awesome our server was!!!! Her name was Ayah and she was the sweetest person to us. She would come up to our table every so often to make sure we were okay and she was very friendly to us. Even the scenery was amazing we definitely enjoyed the hosts ( Saturday nights are specifically for Arabian night ) everyone is so friendly over here and we will definitely be coming back!!

Dined here a couple times and it’s always been good vibes, good music and the food is great! Plus with me being in the service industry, this a great for me to go after a long shift! New favorite spot for sure. Tomahawk & lamb chops are my favorite so far!

I heard about Javier’s on Instagram. I love trying new restaurants around the city and had HIGH expectations before arriving. My girlfriend and I heard about R&B night on Wednesdays so we decided to check it out on Jan 1st around 8pm. I had a reservation for my girlfriend’s 35th birthday for the following Wednesday so we wanted to check the scene out before then. When arriving, we were greeted nicely by the hostess but ignored by a gentleman at the hostess desk. We decided to pay that no attention as we made our way to the Agave Bar. We were greeted immediately by Anthony AKA Antoniiii!! 🇮🇹 (Inside joke). He was really the star of the show that night as he takes his bartending skills very seriously and had great suggestions! He also let us know they had hookah ($50) When we arrived the dj had not set up yet. I called earlier to ask what time the dj would be there and was told 8pm. We were a little disappointed but no big deal. He started playing music around 9-9:15pm. I decided to go back to the hostess desk to ask if he was just late or is 9pm the real time he usually starts because I made a reservation next week at 8pm and I will change it if he starts later. As I’m talking to the nice hostess, the gentleman that was leaning on the counter when we first walked in decided to insert himself into the conversation with a NASTY ATTITUDE. I have no idea who this man is because he did not greet us or say anything to us. I assumed he was the manager but come to find out he was the Security. He said to me in the nastiest tone “well if you worried about the time a dj starts, you should cancel your reservation.” I let him know I didn’t like his attitude and asked him “is there a scheduled time the dj is suppose to start or does he just come whenever?” He looked me dead in the eye and said NOTHING while giving me the nastiest look so the hostess inserted herself in that moment to cut the tension. I am a woman and want to feel safe, the security should make me feel like that. Moving forward, I was pretty upset. I decided to tell a few staff members. Anthony was very apologetic , so were the 2 waitresses I talked to as well. Later in the night I met a man named Ty and he was very nice. I let him know about the situation earlier and he was very apologetic and wanted to make sure I kept my reservation for the following week, so I did. The following Wednesday, Jan 8th was the day of my girlfriend’s 35th birthday! We had a party of 12 and kept the 8pm reservation. When arriving, the security guard was a lot nicer and even asked if he could take the cake and put it in the refrigerator for me. They had our section/table all set but the ladies decided to sit at the bar until the whole party arrived. Anthony was there again and provided excellent service. When transitioning to our table, we were given menus that were different from the online menu. We were a bit disappointed that the menu was shortened/changed. We had a party of 12 and probably ordered every dish from the menu collectively. The food was good but not great and OVER PRICED. $36 for chicken skewers and rice is insane! The food did come out fast as the restaurant wasn’t busy. Luckily the dj was all set up and ready to go but didn’t get the green light to transition until 9pm. The dj was GREAT! His choice of R&B music is AMAZING! They have $10 drink specials (mojito and long islands) and bottle service (certain bottles $250) I don’t drink alcohol and one thing I did love is that they offered spirits that mimic the taste and feeling from alcohol! Can’t find that most places so my MOCKTAILS were enjoyable! The basic drinks range from $16-$30 each so they are a tad pricey but they have great bartenders so the drinks are worth it. It isn’t just alcohol and a mixer, they create an experience for your taste buds. Overall, WE ENJOYED OURSELVES for R&B Wednesdays so give it a try! Wish I could have given 5 stars but it’s not there yet. Hopefully, this feedback helps!

Visited during soft opening. The place was empty basically, like 3 other tables as the night progressed filled in. The service was excellent and very attentive. The appetizers and drinks came out fast. The seafood empanadas were ok. The filling lacked flavor. It was just lump crab but needed seasoning. The sauce on top was really good just needed more of it for dipping. The dip was good. The music started off like Latin dance music then switched to r&b. That matched the mood better. It's kinda dark very date night/celebration like special. Our entrees took forever. The yellow rice was a tad bit salty. The lobster was cooked perfectly and they were pretty big. The stuffed chicken was tasty. Everything was fresh. The bill with drinks was over $200. Gratuity is added. Even though everything was good I still don't feel like it was worth that much. It's a bit pricey. I'll try it again. The menu is short but interesting. I'll wait until they open officially.

Our first time here. 2 weeks before Christmas on a friday night. We didn’t have a reservation, came in and got seated immediately by a nice lady. The reviews had me weary but the food and service was really really good. There was a live DJ and he was doing his THING! Ok! I am pleased and cannot complain about anything. I got the smoky mule and it was great as well. All food and drinks came promptly. The pictures below are the salmon/shrimp, ribeye w/potatoes and chicken taquitos. Do give this place a try!

I had the pleasure of enjoying handcrafted drinks made by Anthony and Wolf! The presentation was amazing and the drinks were well balanced with a burst of smooth flavors. The drinks were perfectly paired with the ambiance. Also, the quality with the unique flavor combination set the tone for the night. I will definitely be going back to see to these guys! The are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING

To begin with Shannon is absolutely amazing for getting us in on Christmas when Texas de Brazil did not let us in! I was so thankful when Shannon answered the phone and said come on and have your Christmas dinner, I could have cried with his hospitality and compassion. So we get to Javier's - we have never been here. The atmosphere is absolutely amazing and I was so impress with everyone checking in on us before we ordered, I mean immediately, I know Shannon felt the anguish in voice. ! Jenna was our waitress and she was beyond respectful and so sweet, and so understanding not to mention took her time with every question, we had never been here! The manager came to check on us ASAP to make sure we were happy with our choice of restaurants. Everything was fantastic and I have not one complaint from service, to food and ambience! Music wasn't too loud but I really loved the selection. My 18 and 19 yr olds joined my fiancé and I, they loved everything about the atmosphere and FOOD! Thank you for this amazing restaurant and I am thankful for them taking us at the last minute on Christmas and it was so delicious! This is my new go to on a regular basis! In fact we are going to WWE at LCA on the "30th in 5 days and guess what's for dinner? I will forever support Javier's and will be thankful for their amazing food, DJ and SHANNON! Thank you Shannon so much for being so amazing and incredible on the phone when I was devastated - you made me feel so much better when I was in tears, he put my mind at ease and said come on! You're the man Shannon and thank you for waiting at the door for us! Please if you can ever enjoy this food and the incredible atmosphere please do! You will thank me!! Always ask for Shannon he'll make sure you get the best seats and waitress - oh did I mention Jenna was the sweetest! Always ask for her! She knows her menu and will take of you! OH did I mention the DJ is absolutely my favorite!!!!

We came to this place being influenced by the Las Vegas location, but coming into the bathroom and knowing this restaurant is owned by one of our own, is very disappointing after seeing this collage of photos in their bathroom. Not everyone is religious but if you're looking to build your business with Arabian nights, these photos are not the way to go. To add on to this, I have never had lamb chops with sauce on them... bbq on lamb chops? Having Elote as a corn on the cob? How are we gonna share lol You can do better and respect better

Sitting at the bar and the bar tender Lisa asks what will I have . After carefully perusing the menu I decide on a burger ..... as the other items were more expensive and I wasn't familiar with the place , she informs me they were out of burgers . Then asked for the wings with a side of potatoes she informed me they were fresh out of potatoes also . I was not amused lol . I asked for wings and the skin on French fries . When my order came , I could have sworn I saw the Gordon's delivery truck scurry off . After ingesting the 6 wing dings and the ore ida fries s. I asked did they offer desert to which l Lisa said the kitchen closes at 10 And it's ten minutes after ( she was joking , right ?) she went into the kitchen came back and said I'm sorry THE KITCHEN IS , Closed ! I might not ever be back !!!!!!!!

At first, I thought this was the same Javier's as Las Vegas, but it couldn't be more opposite. We showed up 10 minutes before our reservation time, and it still took us about 10 minutes to be seated. Not because the restaurant was full, but because the hostess was gone for a while. We were sitting down for 26 minutes waiting for our server, absolutely no one came up to us to mention that they will be right with us. We grabbed the attention of a manager and a bus boy to get our server, both of them did not do that. We then flagged down a bartender, Anthony. After hearing our complaints he took care of us immediately & even took our food order. He was the one single GOOD thing about our dinner. Ordered queso for appetizer, it was not piping hot, and it was a thick pudding-type cheese concoction, it was so gross. I ordered the brush Street salad, and per the menu I opted for grilled chicken. When they served it, it was just microwaved shredded chicken, which totally ruined the salad. It was so disgusting. $18 margaritas were okay, def not worth that price. I did share my comments with Anthony, and he said that he would forward that along to the chef and the manager. But we were very disappointed that the manager never came over to our table to apologize for the experience or acknowledge what was going on. I could tell that the main manager was terribly busy, all the employees there were so incredibly busy so it was very obvious they were shortstaffed. When you walk into the restaurant, to the left is the main dining area, and to the right is a dimly lit lounge/restaurant area. If I ever come back here, I will try the lounge area to see if there's a different vibe there. They have wayyy too many kinks to work out. Huge shout out to Anthony - he was the only employee to acknowledge our extremely poor experience.

Hard pass on future visits. New Year's Eve. Early (7:30). Upon arriving, there was a burly security guard who didn't greet us. We walked into a waiting area in which the desk was not attended. There were numerous staff members, guards and valets buzzing through the area, but no one could bother to help us. After 5-10 min someone asked if we were there for dinner. They took us to a table but didn't assign a server. 10-15 minutes passed. No water. No menu. No acknowledgement. We got up and asked a waitress for help. She was apologetic and provided great service. When we attempted to order. Several of the entrees we attempted to order weren't available? Really? She said they were updating the menu & not replenishing things as they ran out. We ended up going with her suggestion - shrimp quesadilla, which was actually quite delish. It seems less like an issue with the staff & more like an issue with the leadership. Definitely not one to revisit. One star for the waitress & her recommendation & one for the cool art inside.

Javier's had a really good ambiance, the food was good and the service was prompt! they had a live jazz band on the saturday that i went! outside of the food and service they had strobe lights that i wasn't particularly fond of! but overall i had a great experience!

TLDR: don't spend money here. We were able to get a reservation for Valentine's Day and now I see why. Took about 20 minutes to get our drinks and we never got our appetizer, but it was still on the bill. We waited over an hour for our food and the wait was not worth it. Food was technically not bad, but after that long of a wait it did not meet expectations. The place was not packed, so the wait really did not make sense. Also, half of our side of grilled asparagus was burnt. Automatic 20% tip for a party of two. One good thing: the playlist. This is one place we will not be returning too nor do we recommend.

ABSOLUTE SCAM. $2500 and no bill was given for 9 people and we only got appetizers and drinks. Do not go it is not worth it, we are not in Miami... this is Detroit. No need to charge $30 for apps and $60 for each shot.

We tried this restaurant before a hockey game for apps and cocktails. The margaritas were perfect, made fresh- no awful mix. Real ingredients, the way they are supposed to be made. Appetizers were awesome! Selena our waitress was outstanding. We can't wait to come back for dinner.

Will never go back. Took 4 tries to get water glasses refilled while eating our appetizers. Ordered an IPA, was told by waitress they were out. Got billed for it anyway. Waitress did not know how to delete it, so brought cash. She was offended we made her refund the tax and prebilled tip as well. Only 3 of 4 entrees arrived. Server asked 4th person "did you order anything?" Took another 10 minutes to get a simple entre. Tacos arrived without avocado and sides. Waitress finally checked, and told us "I guess we are out" Bill for a table for 4 included a 20% tip. Small table should not get this billed automatically.

Bunch of scammers! Charged my card with unknown charges. They won't even pick up the phone. I will never eat here again.

TLDR: call in advance to make sure they are open I tried to go to Javier on a Sunday at about 8:15. First I was told by someone who seemed like security to go check inside to see if they were open. I went inside and a waitress (who was pleasant) said I could sit and see if they would serve me. I said that I wouldn't and left (since now two people have questions and if they were open). I'm not local so as I was outside looking for other places the original person who seemed like security came out. I asked if he was local (so I could find other places to eat). He told me to calm down (which I was already) I was told they aren't open and that if I looked at Google they aren't. I found them on Apple, and also immediately looked on Google and yelp and all have them open on Sunday night. He did tell me the direction where I could find food (burgers...as opposed to the fine dining I was hoping for at Javier's). Long story short, call in advance to make sure they are open and don't speak with a heavy voice.

Nice ambiance and service from Kelly. However, we ordered two $75 steaks medium rare. Both over cooked, medium to medium well. Hate to send things back but had to. New steaks came without the accompanying veggies supposed to be included! Not classy! Tip automatically added to our table of four

The drink menu featured several items that weren't available at the bar, which was disappointing. I really feel the restaurant shouldn't have opened until it was fully staffed and properly stocked. While the ladies working were excellent, the service was beyond their control. Given the high prices they charge, I believe they need to give it another try and ensure everything is in place for a better experience.

This place was absolute trash!! I will never come back here again everything sucked from the food to the service!!

They did not have our reservation until I showed them my confirmation, were great accommodating us but we waited for over 20 minutes for wait staff and finally flagged one down. Had to get our own water, the service was horrendous. Many things were sold out, took over an hour and 45 minutes to get our food, some things were missing, we finally asked for our check and 30 minutes later they brought us a check which included the items missing. Other tables around us all had the same experience and we all just finally paid our tabs and left. One gentleman asked to speak to the manager and was told 'they were too busy to talk to him'. It's a shame, great ambiance and location, but never again.

prices are different on menus, they will tell you they only have digital receipts and have to put ur card "on file" just to charge a extremely unlogical price the next day

We ate here last Saturday as a group of four at the bar. Drinks were good, food was good and the service was good. Our collective favorites were the Brussels sprouts appetizer and the chicken taquitos. We will return!

I never give reviews until now...We went there for my best friend's birthday. Service was fine. Atmosphere was great BUT the food was horrendous!! 8 of us had a 500$ bill with one drink each and not one of us was happy with our food. We asked to speak wit the manager/owner and he said he would comp something on the bill and took off a COKE!!!! Feathers on the chicken wings. No flavor on wings. Asparagus wasn't trimmed. Crab cakes $39 and frozen not from scratch. I'm a chef myself, but anyone would have been upset at the price of this shit food.. will NEVER GO AGAIN.

The waitress was WILDLY into my husband. She sat in the booth by my husband three times through our 30 minute visit. It ain't cute to snuggle by someone's man to get a tip and that's why you got 10% hoe.

I was there last Saturday at Javier's- food was delicious, service was great and the Ambiance was amazing, should go and visit!

Tried this place out with a group of friends and we enjoyed ourselves. The food and service was good, I really liked the drinks as well. They had a D.j. which made it more enjoyable. Seems to be busier on the weekends so if your looking for a busier night to be there go on the weekend.
