Hadn't been in years. Penne pasta great. Burger would have been better but the mustard on table had not been shaken or decapoed. So spouse finally got seal off only to just have watery mustard juice . Prices not on menu just on specials board. Very chilly, napkins packed tight.

My burger & 4 onion rings were $15+, and I had to make it myself. The patty itself was overcooked & burnt (I asked for medium, but it's very crunchy). The lettuce was old and soggy. The onion rings & mushrooms were old & cold. They made my son's $20 burger wrong too. Plan on spending $4 for your drink too. WAY OVER PRICED FOR CRAP FOOD! You're better off going to Mc Donald's.

This is my second time eating at had I didn’t have the burger the first time and if I come here again I won’t be ordering it, the burger itself looks amazing but the patty is was bland and burnt and for a burger that has tomato and lettuce it’s very dry not to mention the bacon felt like I was chewing jerky. The tater tots are really good and so are the desserts. Tater tots 8/10 West Texas burger 2/10 Club sandwich 7/10 Carrot cake 8/10

This was my first experience here at this very laid back restaurant. The atmosphere was amazing only second to the delicious food. We plan on going this week. I had the fish and shrimp plate with fries and it was the best and definitely more than I could handle, had to take home leftovers which was just as delicious the next day. Going to try the Philly cheesesteak next time which should be this week! I still don’t know why I’m just now eating here!! Off the chain!!

Jax Grille never misses! The food is consistently delicious, hot, and full of flavor. Whether you’re in the mood for a juicy burger, perfectly seasoned wings, or one of their daily specials, you can’t go wrong here. The service is always friendly and fast, and the laid-back atmosphere makes it a great place to grab a bite with friends or family. On old school staple in Bellaire with home style cooking like your mother used to cook with reasonable prices and good size portions.

Houstonians brought me here. They have fond sentiments of this place and treat it like somewhat of an institution. The place is decorated with bright primary colors and reminded me of a restaurant set for the show Saved by the Bell. I ordered a West Texas Burger. Two of them actually because I am a fan of the meat and that egg brioche bun. I tried the gravy that comes with the chicken fried chicken and it slaps!!

Great place for lots of comfort food. Love to call in a get their specials of the day. I love their chicken tortilla soup, a thick broth, also love the veggies burger.

This place had a cool atmosphere. You order your food at the counter and they give you a buzzer for when it is ready. I had the JAX salad and it was really good! Good size too. I was full. I would definitely come back.

While I do love Jax and have eaten here for probably a decade mistakes do occur. I'm not as disgusted as some but having a really long black cooked into my burger when I have short brown hair is kinda gross. The lady at the register immediately took it away and apologized. Mistakes may occur but it's great when a business rights a wrong professionally and without debate!

Too bad, thought I found a neighborhood spot, but I HATE getting ripped off. Ok, you get fries with your burger but I wanted onion rings. It's' $1.50 for the substitution. So when I get home and open the box I see "4" onion rings. WTF? I'm sure a side order is not just 4. I would have been better off paying another few bucks for the full order and throwing away the fries. Also, I walked in and my order wasn't ready yet, waiting on my 4 rings, my burger was just sitting on the side of the griddle getting cold. Not a good experience.

This place was hopping for lunch today! We split an original Jax burger and Buffalo wings. We requested extra crispy on the fries and the wings and they definitely delivered! The wing sauce definitely had a kick and the fries were well seasoned. The brioche bun was delicious and the meat was a tad on the dry side but overall had good flavor. We almost got up charged for extra burger ingredients but luckily we kept an eye on the register. We ate outside which was enjoyable! The food came out quickly and the prices are reasonable. The workers there seemed a little low energy/ perhaps overworked though. They need some love, go check them out and tell them they're doing an great job!!

Stopped by for a pre-movie burger dinner ! I got a Jax Burger with cheese. It was so good and juicy! I opted for hush puppies as my side and was disappointed. Lacked flavor. Didn't taste like anything. The fries were neither bad nor good. Nothing to write home about. For dessert we had an amazing bread pudding. I would come back just for that!

A decent local burger spot, with a good selection of local beers. The prices are reasonable, and service was quick. That said, there are definitely better burgers in the area at the same price. If you're interested in giving them a try, go for it, but I wouldn't recommend going out of your way if you've already got a place you like.

Which they had a Jax in Sugarland area. I always get the same thing, southwest chicken salad, and I'm never disappointed. Fresh avocados, jalapeños and greatly cooked Christmas chicken always hits the spot. Plus they are fast.

This spot is such a Bellaire staple. I have so many memories eating here while attending BHS. I came here with my cousin the other day for lunch. She got the burger and I got the tenders. My go to things here are the tenders, caesar salad, nachos, and loaded fries. Their menu covers all the diner classics from burgers to salads. The food here is portioned on the larger (TX) size and all cooked/prepped fresh right after you order. Parking here can be tight (the parking lot literally is tiny) so I would come before lunch/dinner rush.

My food was yummy and very flavorful. I got the grilled chicken with pico and Monterrey Jack cheese, rice pilaf and a baked potato for my sides. The chicken breast was tender and cooked to perfection. The baked potato was great, and the rice pilaf had just the right amount of flavor. My hubby got the fried catfish and it was jumbo and didn't even really fit in the plate but he gave it a 6 out of ten for flavor. My kiddo got the chicken tenders and fries with ranch and she enjoyed it. We ordered through door dash and all my special requests were honored from the restaurant. Surprisingly the food was warm even though door dash took an hour to deliver after they picked it up.

Had such a pleasant experience here today! From my understanding, this Jax Grill recently underwent some renovations and was closed for some time. My boyfriend and I visited today after missing Jax for months. Upon walking in, we could tell this was a new and improved restaurant! The decor inside and their technology all got a much needed "face lift", from a bright, easy-to-read digital menu, to beautifully remodeled booths. We were ecstatic with the new energy of the entire place. Ordered a Jax cheeseburger, chicken fried chicken, and their green chile queso with chips. Everything was more delicious than I remembered, and I'm so excited to return. Towards the end of our meal, we had to notify the staff of a minor leak from rain that had suddenly come in, and the manager was so apologetic and genuine when he approached us. We weren't upset at all, but he gifted us a complimentary slice of their Strawberry Tres Leches cheesecake (so light and fluffy!!) as a kind gesture. Thank you Jax Grill for the great experience and wonderful food. We'll be back!!

I've been coming here for more than 20 years. Today the fish trout was absolutely horrible. It was smaller than normal and not edible. I will give this place one more try before I stop going here. I guess they changed management and sold out, and it really affects the quality of the food. Also asked to speak to the manager 30 minutes ago and the manager has not come to my table yet, so I'm leaving.

I have eaten at this location 3 times since they remodeled it and the food has been consistently good. This last time, a gentleman named Marshal handled my phone and takeout order with an overall positive attitude. While waiting in line I noticed his excellent customer service skills with the other customers ahead of me. He was kind, helpful, and made my experience exemplary. I will return to Jax again.

Disappointed. They've ruined the chicken and corn chowder. It's gloppy and verges under cooked.

Food greatly improved. Was good. Now it is very good in last year or so. We like the variety and quality.

So happy to see you have recovered and are open have missed my go to restaurant in Bellair!

Jax is always great but this time I'm disappointed! First time trying this and was excited specifically for the cilantro coleslaw and this is all I get & no they were not busy at all !

Awesome awesome awesome job!!!!! We took a group of people out for administrative assistant day and man they were tough. The manager did an outstanding job of correcting orders and service with a smile. He even went and brought bread to make a patty melt because something happened with their bread delivery if that isn't customer service I don't know what is! Kudos to this location and the individuals that work there. Customer service is hard but they did an outstanding job! I highly recommend this place

Great food! The service was excellent! I went on a Thursday evening it was less than 20 people inside the restaurant however I opted to sit outside. The food was fresh and hot! You can tell they made it right when I ordered it which I prefer. If your ever in the Galleria area stop by Jax!

I haven't been here in years. Last time I ate here, I got sick (not food poisoning, it just didn't sit well at all. I am not feeling well today, and wanted some comfort food-a turkey burger and sweet potato fries. My go-to is closed on Monday afternoons, so I google searched turkey burger and Jax came up in the search. I figured why not, it's close and I will give them another try. I regret that decision. First of all, they got my order wrong. I am happy I checked it in the car. They fixed it quickly and I was on my way. Taste-sweet potato fries were soggy and tastless. The turkey burger was over salted (and I like salty food) and just not good. Oh well, I won't be going back. There are other better options in the neighborhood and close by.

In the past, I've loved coming here. Not tonight. The onion rings were not crispy at all. The batter was different somehow, didn't taste fresh. The Texas burger...well, not like all the other times was inedible. Very disappointed. Do not order out. Dine in. I've never had a bad experience when dining in. Very odd. Just being honest with this visit.

I ordered taco salad - which was good. HOWEVER - when my order was ready, I asked for some salsa - they wouldn't give me any, and said that I needed to pay extra for salsa (for an already expensive salad) - REALLY?? Pay extra for salsa for your taco salad?? That's ridiculous!!

This was my first time trying this place and I'm Really impressed about the flavor, the grill catfish was so delicious! Definitely I will have it again.

Waited over 25 minutes for our order. Some of our meals were burned beyond recognition. Many customers complaining. The guy in charge does not seem to know what he is doing.

I ordered the southwest egg roll. Was very tasty. Flavorful. Was so good I was wishing the portion was a lil bigger. Served on a bed of browning lettuce... could've been from the heat of the egg rolls. Because they were served up hot & freshly fried. I haven't ordered anything else from here, but they are always packed... so that def says something.

I'd forgotten how good this place is. I think this location is better than the Heights location. Delicious burger. Perfectly cooked fries, to our extra crispy request. Spinach was amazing - garlicky and fresh. Wow.

I came in to get an order to go. I placed an order for a shrimp Poboy and waited. The kitchen was busy and orders looked to be getting out without issues. I observed, what appeared to be, a to-go order placed on top of a stack of bags next to the pick-up location and wondered if it was mine. I received an order alarm, which didn't alert, so I figured it wasn't. I waited another 10 minutes, or so, before someone (finally) went over to place the order in a bag only to have my monitor alert that this was mine! Needless to say the food was almost room temp when I got home. Having to microwave shrimp is something you generally try to avoid, because makes them tough and if my ride had not been waiting, I would have spoken with a manager. The experience just re-enforces why I avoid tipping on to-go orders.

Been wanting to check out this place since I was working down the street from it this week. Well I wasn't impressed! Maybe I need to try something different because the menu is pretty stacked. Well I ended up going with the Jax burger because who can go wrong with a burger right? Wrong! The bun was a lil chewy, onion rings were not good at all (extremely over cooked) and they are the onion rings that crumble to bits when you bite them. The burger had soggy veggies but the meat was fairly decent. Maybe Im giving them 3 stars just because I was hangry that day lol.

The Jax burger and golden fries is an incredible meal. My friend had the double chicken sandwich with onion rings. I don't know which choice was better. Everything was outstanding. Don't know if I've had better onion rings anywhere.

A Houston icon for years and years. I still absolutely LOVE the chargrilled burgers in this little burger joint. Today o started off my New Year with Mom and my bestie by enjoying the West Texas Burgers and cheesecake. Food was fabulous! La cucarache on the table? Check but he didn't eat much. I still will be back.

Good American comfort food with reasonable prices. Parking is kind of inconvenient because it's on the side of a huge road and the lot is one way, but there are plenty of spaces nearby. I got the chicken quesadillas at around $10 and the portion was pretty generous. Flavor was good as there was bacon and pico in the quesadillas. Order your food at the counter and they call your number and give it to you. Jax is a great neighborhood restaurant and I enjoy it every time I come here.

This place has been around for a while. Flavor is casual Texas must haves and comfort food, all with large portion sizes. My top favorites are: Burgers: Come plain, and you need to add whatever you want.. e.g Bacon, Cheese, Mushrooms.. Fried Chicken Strips (Bellaire Basket): Good size tenders and fries. Grilled Catfish: Nicely grilled with rice and veggies. French Fries: Lightly seasoned with cajun spices. Ask for a side of gravy! Onion Rings: Giant onion rings.. Tasty, but a little pricy ($3.95 for 8) Mesquite Fajita Salad: I know right! The food has been pretty consistent for as long as I remember. Portion size feels like its shrunk a little bit tho. They have a decent patio, but run short on parking during peek hours. There is reasonable parking on the street as well as in the shops next door--- Just pay attention to the No Parking signs. When in doubt, ask... Staff is always polite and friendly..

I had grilled chicken with vegetables and pilaf rice on Friday evening. The rice was hard, like it was reheated. The chicken was not freshly cooked. I thought something was strange when my order was ready in about 5 minutes. Thanks for making my first visit to a restaurant in 2 years, unpleasant.

My group needed to waste some time before heading out of town so we decided to had dinner here. You order at the counter and they call your name when the order is ready. We had a variety of food and drink and everything was good. I had the chicken fajitas. The chicken was really flavorful but there were no onions and peppers which you expect with fajitas. The beans and rice were tasty too. They also have a nice sauviguon blanc wine by the glass. One person had a salad which she liked. She also ordered onion rings and those were very tasty, crispy, good flavor. One other person had fajitas too. He liked them as well. We did have to talk to the staff about a homeless person that was bothering us. They ended up getting him to leave. But otherwise we had a nice dinner. Good, casual food. Nice outdoor patio that is enclosed so you are not fully outside. Definitely a fun local place with tasty food.

I am giving this place a bad review because I think they have gone stark raving mad..No ice! No drink machines? And why? Because they are afraid of the throngs of patrons at the drink machine. In the mean time, there are no customers. So there would be no lines. I have frequented numerous facilities..they need not limit their numbers to 25%..they don't have ten percent of the places full. No catsup bottles..no salt shakers..no silverware...and finally..no customers. We used to go to Jax several times per week..but alas, no more...in your zeal to protect us....you have lost us..and I hope you are happy..because you now limit your stinking menu to a handful of items... You took your hot dogs off the menu..are you serious? I am sure I am not the only customer to desert your place, but I'm sure there are others.

Great spot for a meal. I had their ribeye steak with a side salad and order a side of mac and cheese. Delicious. Everything! They have all sorts of sauces available from Heinz 57, A1 and so many hot sauces. Their menu is extensive so you have you may have to slowly try everything. Their constantly busy and their are quick and efficiently this was my first time here but I will definitely be back.

Nice comfy spot to do lunch and get a good meal. Last visit with co-workers was very unique. Manger did everything in his power to ensure everyone was satisfied. He even went to the grocery store to get one of my coworkers a specific type of bread to make a patty melt. This was after giving everyone who ordered fries a fresh batch right out of the grease because one person complained theirs were cold. At the end he even discounted the ticket. Oh, by the way my quesadilla with grilled shrimp was awesome. Good job JAX!

We have been going here for years and love the food. Today, I had the turkey burger. Hands down the absolute worst turkey burger I've ever had. It was disappointing given how good the rest of the food is. May as well take it off the menu if it's not going to be up to par with the rest of your food!!!

I've been here a couple of times with my fiancee, and it's a good time! First, I will say that it's definitely a kid-friendly / group-friendly place, and maybe not a great place to go if you're expecting a nice, peaceful dinner. The seating area is quite large so even when it's been very busy, we've still managed to find a place to sit. I've never had to wait long to order, and they've gotten my order (and my fiancee's order) pretty much right both times, so that's definitely a plus. The orders are also ready quite quickly, so that's another plus. With respect to the quality of the food, it's fine. I've gotten a mushroom burger (mushrooms on top, not a portobello patty) both times and I've liked it reasonably well. Sometimes it tastes a bit burnt (it's the bun, I think?) and my burger tastes more well-done than medium (which is what I ordered), but not a big deal. My fiancee gets a salad with chicken (I forget the name) and really loves it, so she would probably give this place a higher rating :) Overall, I'm sure we'll be back (mainly because of my fiancee's love for that salad).

This is a neighborhood staple. I've been a Jax customer for years. And the food and service has been consistently good the entire time. The menu is quite large and daily specials give patrons loads of choices. There is nothing fancy on the menu but there are some staple items that are always good, mainly burgers, nachos, and huge salads. The place can get crowded during the lunch and dinner hours so plan accordingly if you plan on dining-in. Otherwise there shouldn't be a problem. Orders are made fresh and come out rather quickly. Don't throw away your receipt because it has the order number on it. You'll need that number to pickup your food. The only items that I feel are not worth getting is dessert here. I feel that $6.00 for a slice of cake or pie is a bit pricey. I've also experienced flavor issues too. Once, my Italian Cream cake tasted like the refrigerator and a slice of Key Lime pie tasted "old". It is to that end that I am awarding 4/5 stars.

My son and I stopped in for dinner with his service dog. The people at the counter could not comprehend the service dog and asked us to leave. We did speak with the manager and had to produce the paperwork for the dog so we could stay. We sat outside on the patio. My son's fettuccini was ok but the sauce was reminiscent of a creamy ragu. The dinner roll was the highlight. My salad was tasty and fresh. I was suspicious of the dressing that came on the side but it was incredible! Wish I had that recipe! Overall the meal was tainted by the interactions at the beginning but if you don't have a service animal try the salad!

I've been here twice and both times the food was bomb! Highly recommend Jax when family and friends come into town!! Thanks for awesome food and service

Rainbow trout is mesquite grilled with lots of flavor from the wood chips. Chicken Quesadillas we ordered was excellent. Friendly atmosphere. Kid friendly. They have toy machines to win prizes & gumball machines. A gem

I don't go very often but their daily specials are always good. And the southwest chicken salad is yummy !

They do a lot of things well. But they haven't figured out steak night. My steak was was thin and a bit gristly .. Ie well suited to chicken fried steak .. not rib eye steak night. In fact I'd bet it was the same cut they use for chicken fried steak Come on Jax Step up your game

Based on the pictures online, I came expecting this place to be amazing. Once we stepped in the door, reality hit. This is the worst food I've had while I've been in Houston. The loaded mash is drowned in sour cream, the chicken fried chicken has little no taste-besides trash. A friend ordered the fries with chili and they used what tasted like marinara sauce instead. The manager offered a $25 gift card (to their own franchise), but it did not make up for the atrocity that is this food. Very disappointed. Avoid this place.

Love to come here and have been with friends and family since 2009. I would say while you wait you've got to snack on the chips and white queso but they're so fast preparing your food on the open grill that you never wait: ) The salads are piled high. The burgers are delicious and the fries are big enough to share. I love to indulge in a Jax sack. A dark chocolate looking bag with all the details and folds of a true paper bag filled with layers of white cake, cool whip, chocolate chips, walnuts, blue berries and strawberries.

Ok still not the same as it used to be. Only came because forgot Bernies closed is Bus. Always irritating when a counter service place asked for a tip before you sign your purchase.
