JB's Pizza Parlor

Literally the best EVER vegan pizzas and I do not mean this lightly. This is a vegan “pepperoni” and cheese pizza… so simple but perfect. Reminds me of my non-vegan days! Picture doesn’t even do it enough justice. They also have a really nice dining room, big selection of sodas, and you can collect the magnets for free pizza! I rarely give 5 stars and this doesn’t feel like enough.

vegan sausage & vegan cheese pizza! simple, flavorful, delicious. I love this staple neighborhood pizza spot. their vegan breadsticks are phenomenal as well. no photo because I ate them all in 25 seconds.

Great pizza. Had the Chicago style stuffed crust. It was huge and was amazing. New favorite stuffed crust pizza is here.

Really good 12 inch pepperoni, ham, and jalapeño pizza.

Try the pickle pizza ! Over all what a great collaboration of ingredients! Thin sliced pickles, goat cheese, hot peppers and pickled onions with the crispy bacon.. and the sauce ! It’s like a creamy southwest style sauce it just goes very well together.

JB's Pizza Parlor has great pizza. We have dined in several times and typically been the only ones eating in, no doubt owing to Covid and not the quality of the food. The takeout business appears brisk. My wife loves that they serve Diet Dr. Pepper.

The guys here are always friendly and working hard. Super accommodating too, as I'm always a little bit of a pain and order off menu. They always make me feel welcome and valued. Not to mention it's the best pizza I've ever had. I'd give more stars if I could!

Been going here for years. Amazing food, cool people that work there. They even let people rent out the lobby for a fair fee. My family and I always recommend jbs for baby showers, birthday parties, and bridal showers! Can’t go wrong with jbs 💪🏽

Customer service could use an adjustment. Rude, condescending, passive aggressive. Plus I was told to wait 45 minutes to an hour for my pizza. I get there 50 minutes later, and the pizza is cold. Not impressed, I've had better experiences and food at dominoes.

We enjoyed pizza here for a private event on a Friday night. Their pizza is amazing! I really enjoyed their JB's Veggie Lover's Pizza and their Meat Lovers Pizzas the most. From tip to crust, the flavor and the texture is outstanding. The ambiance is relaxed and casual :) Their location is also really easy to get to and park. What a lovely stop for a slice or a whole pizza! I would love to come back. For a pizza place, I was impressed by the range of items that they have on their menu. I think that there could be something for everyone to eat here.

Really liked the food from JBs. We got two Care your subs - the Philly and Meatball. Both were excellent. Food was quick! No complaints! Can't wait to try them again.

My coworkers and I ordered 2 14" pizzas for carry out and I thought they were delicious. One pizza was just cheese and pepperoni and the other was bacon and banana peppers. I loved how thin the crust was as that's my preference and it wasn't too greasy. Just as I like it! I wish there were more banana peppers and bacon on the one pizza. Between myself and 3 guys, we finished both of the pizzas for lunch! I will definitely be back to try their pickle pizza and others from their gourmet pizza menu. All the options sound tasty! Price wasn't too bad either. They also serve pizza by the slice for lunch Monday through Friday!

I'd heard from many vegan friends that JBs was the place to get vegan pizza and they absolutely did not steer me wrong!! I ordered online and got a veggie with their Daiya vegan cheese. The picture I took was after I inhaled two pieces. I will return soonto try their vegan meats and vegan wings.

My friends and I ordered JB's because my professor said it would be one of the best pizza places we'd ever try. He was right!! Game night was packed with flavor with what we ordered from JB's. Personal fave was the Supreme Nachos - we couldn't get enough of it! Everyone was so friendly and we didn't have to wait too long at all. Street parking is available but there's also a parking lot behind the building.

Best pizza in GR. We've tried just about all the pizza in the area. They remember your name.

JB's pizza is unlike any other pie in GR- in a good way! Located in Alger Heights, I feel like this is a neighborhood favorite that nobody talks about. Their crust is thicker but not too chewy and has a light cornmeal dusting. The pizza sauce has zero sweetness to it which I enjoy, and their cheese is similar to Fratelli's- in that it forms a layer and has a great chew. I've only ever had the Cheese Lover's and if any of this sounds good to you I highly recommend; mozz, asiago, parmesan, romano, feta, and fresh basil they bake under the cheese. [insert drool emoji here] P.s. on a Friday night they gave me an hour wait but it was another 15 when I got there.

Food was really good but the guy running it was rude I ask a few questions about the food I was paying for and he had got a attitude like damn dude I'm sorry I asked

Freaking delicious. I've been here like 2 or 3 weeks now, and am pissed I've order pizza elsewhere. We got the chipotle chicken pizza, and holy hell its perfect. The right amount of bite, with the perfect amount of meat to veggies all cooked to perfection. Would defiantly recommend checking this place out for their pie. Keep it up, we will be back. UPDATE: 12/16 I got their honey bbq wings today, 10 piece. I'd give them another star if I could. Stamp of approval.

The best meatball sub I've ever put in my mouth. My boss introduced me to it so I had to see for myself. He got the French Dip for the first time and he LOVES it also! Great place to eat! Highly suggested!

This place is so vegan friendly. I had vegan wings and an Italian sub. One of the best meals I've had in a while. The sandwiches are amazing. The customer service is great and everyone is friendly. It's a neighborhood staple for sure.

Price on their website was outdated and they would not honor the price as marketed. We were blamed for not updating the cookies on our mobile browser. We were dining in and our pizza was left out on the counter for 10 minutes as they deliberated whether to honor the price (that they did not take to the time to revise). They elected to not price their menu as they put out on their website so they we paid above the listed price for cold pizza. We decided to go to JBs rather than Big Bobs in EGR or a chain to support Alger. I would advise ordering from a local business that values their customers.

Pizza tasted really weird. Ate a slice and actually ended up throwing it away. Wanted to give it another shot thinking we just had a bad pizza. Tried it again and it was just as bad. Wouldn't really recommended. Hate to say this because It's in a great location but the quality/flavor itself was off putting.

So good...I just get the subs...Philly with au jus...can't figure out how they get it to taste so good. I tried at home. Not close. I can't finish any meal lately...i always throw away half...but i always eat all of the Philly. Great guys too...we moved out of the neighborhood 6 years ago...and when i finally went back, they remembered me like it was yesterday...Pizza is good too. But I live with vegans...so I can't often get what I want....(Hawaiian). I should have taken a picture but I forgot. I will tomorrow!!! Seriously, really good pizza and great subs...you have to ask for the au jus if you order the Philly. Definitely get the au jus...

mostly i think just like you in my head today with most of them who are closely mostely like the flat meat cake again. welcome too! when the grunty spatoink was not even in mouth i did the (yucky!) noise. when did always place right inside tooth hole. anyways. mostly just yummy after i left the inside. don't go to back ho ho ha ha! that's so sharp that knife there haha haha

Food is ok, but the owner is just rude. Been going there for 8 years periodically out of convenience but the service hasn't changed. Go to Andrea's on Boston, not too far away and better pizza, better customer service - better all around!

This spot was amazing As first timer I really enjoyed the margaritas specialty pizza me and my bf got this pizza it was amazing I also love they have vegan choices there also cautions about social distance so wear mask but if you haven't tried them their must try

Best ever pizza outside of New York. I am going back anytime I'm in town. The fresh garlic was perfect and not for the faint of heart. The dough was cooked trough with just the right crisp. For some maybe a little to much topping but I thought it was perfect. As usual for most pizza places the salads could use a little help but it was good.

Ordered 2 XL pizzas to feed a group of people. The price was potentially a little too high but the food was decent. I wouldn't necessarily order it again because there are so many other places, but not because it was that bad.

Great local pizza joint. Godfather pizza is really good. Pricey for what it is, but good local Alger heights pizza place that you can't go wrong with.

I have been driving past this restaurant for about 5 years now and I kept telling myself that I am going to try it out and I went in Tuesday and got a menu so Thursday was here and I decided to try it out let me back up when I got the menu there was a person at the counter and he gave me a menu and he was friendly ok Thursday when I ordered my food I came in to pick it up and there was one couple sitting down eating the rest of the place was empty I go to get my food and the employee could really care less he basically wanted me to hurry up pay for my food and go not friendly he said as little as possible to me I went home ate my food and it was great I was going to go back on the weekend and try there pizza but the unfriendly atmosphere is unappealing sad sad and I love philly sandwiches to

I have 2 brothers-in-law who looooooooooooove this pizza. One of them ate it for 2 meals today, and it wasn't leftovers. The other one thinks that JB's has better parm than any other pizza in town (It tastes like Kraft to me, but Kevin thinks it is special. "Part of the JB's experience"). Between the two of them pizza night for the sibs is a no-brainer. The JB's experience is very good. I have eaten in and taken out from there. Every time I have been greeted with the same friendly service. Everyone there is very helpful. The pizza is greasy. My brothers love it, I have mixed feelings about it. The breadsticks however are the very best around. I don't know how JB's has figured out the secret that do many places in town have missed, but don't eat here without an order of breadsticks. And as always, thanks for supporting local people .

Best pizza in GR. They use fresh mushrooms (not canned) and they line their pizza pans with cornmeal, which adds a great texture. Staff has gotten friendlier, which I greatly appreciate, considering we order from them at least once a month. I also enjoy the pizza magnet loyalty program they run- Once you've collected 9 magnets, you get a free pizza of your choice, any size, any toppings.

Delivery options are ridiculous. I live 1.4 miles from this restaurant and they said they couldn't deliver to my house just because I live south of 28th street. I live 2 blocks south of 28th. That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. Sad because my son and I were really excited to try their pizza...... Wish I had an option for 0 stars.

The pizza is consistently good, but the customer service can be really bad. I once had to hang up on a guy who was acting so rude, hostile, and sarcastic towards me because I dared to ask a couple questions before placing an order. He was super confrontational. It was bizarre. So, ultimately they're a rough bunch, but the toppings are fresh and the pizza is always baked how I like it.

Food was amazing. Delicious cheesebread, marinara complimented perfectly ! I'm impressed will be returning!

Picked up the godfather pizza and it was delicious. Only reason it is 4 star is the price. 18 bucks for a 14inch light toppings. Delicious though.

We used to be regulars - both dine-in and take-out. I never particularly cared for their pizza - I thought the pizza was consistently overdone. Seems they could increase the output of the oven if they'd get the pizza's out before the cheese turned brown. Our last two occasions were nightmares. Both with larger groups. On both occasions, the pizzas were delivered in no relation to when they were ordered. One of our group was completely done with their pizza before the other family's pizza even arrived - and they ordered first! My pizza was made wrong, and the owner was unapologetic. Our last experience was similar, but the owner was rude to our entire group. My kids loved the place, but I won't put up with that. Too bad, I normally like to support the neighborhood places.

Selected them based on Yelp and Glutten free options. Ordered two pizzas (one regular and one glutten free) both were good....nothing special. One thing that was cool was their variety of specialty pops from Jones, Fanta and Boylan. Not a big pop drinker but the Boylan line is a great natural cane sugar choice....as a side note.

Phenomenal pizza, staff isn't the friendliest but the food is good.

Some of the best pizza in town and our go to when we order take out. There specialty pizzas are fantastic, the other menu items are very good as well!

I absolutely LOVE their pizzas -- Godfather is best anywhere. But I rarely go there because the owner is incredibly rude, even though I've been going there since they opened. I rarely do go there anymore because of him. The rest of the staff is AWESOME. If I know owner isn't there, I will order and enjoy. Sad. I can't tell you how many friends/neighbors I have in Alger Heights who have the same experience. Hoping one day the owner will be gone and pass it on to his younger staff --- Greg is fabulous! I'd cross town to go to wherever he is. Incredibly connected to his customers!!

Everything JB's has to offer is ridiculously delicious. Pizza to subs to salad, it's all phenomenal. At lunch time you can get pizza by the slice, or try one of their specials. One of my favorites is the 1/2 sub, fries and drink for $5.99. I have tried most of the subs, and find the BBQ chicken, pizza and turkey club are among the best. They also offer Jone's Soda which I've always found to be an indicator of good propriety. The owner, JB, is usually in the kitchen making pizzas and subs or taking orders. It's nice to see that in a restaurant. Salad wise, most of their dressings are homemade, I am a big fan of the Oriental Chicken salad, which goes to show you can eat healthy in a pizza joint. I eat here on a regular weekly basis and I notice many of the same returning customers as well. That's a clue!! The Godfather is the best pizza I have ever tasted. Out of respect you should refer to it only as Godfather. Bringing it down to the same level as pizza is almost an insult.

JB's is a local pizza store within walking distance to our house. We used to go there a lot but stopped going once I was diagnosed with a gluten allergy. My wife enjoys the pizza and I would get a salad. Recently on their facebook page they announced they would be offering a gluten free pizza and we recently tried it. Enjoyed the taste and the service was great as always. Nice replacement to Brick Road as we are no longer going there

It's exactly what you want from a local pizza shop within walking distance of your house. They don't pretend to be fancy. The wet burrito is better than it needs to be! Also, slight break on your bill if you pay with cash.

the review on 5/11/2016 is accurate. You'll sometimes have to deal with a guy via the phone in his I think 30'S that I think might be one of the (co)owners who has worked there for years, who has mood-swing problems. I recently called for the order accidentally and said the wrong name of the hot sub , and he got real pissy with me for no reason (I even quickly corrected to the one I meant and my order was quick). I thought whatever in my head and shrugged off, ...but then I showed up 20 minutes later and somehow the young girl at the counter had nothing in its system of my order ever being placed ... I didn't bother to get mad at her as I could see it was her boss hiding in the background who I spoke to on the phone that screwed up... probably might've been on purpose because he was so upset that a customer said the wrong name of a hot sub that he had to correct that he didn't want to even make the sub... that's pretty messed up. Anyway, with the numerous other pizza/hot sub options around the area, they lost themselves a loyal customer because of their one rude employee. Congrats

I think that JB's is one of the better pizza's in GR. I have never been disappointed and the sandwiches are great too and priced right at $5.50. Totally check it out.

We live in the neighborhood and loved the food at JB's. Although it always seemed a little grimy, it guess it was ok since the food was good. Up until I had a job scheduled there with a company I work with (I will not reveal the company name). I was able to gain access into the areas where customers weren't normally allowed and I saw rats. More than one. I was disgusted. No more JB's for me. Eat at your own risk.

Great neighborhood pizza place. They have a fairly extensive variety of toppings and specialty pizzas. We normally get takeout, so I can't really speak much to the dining-in experience.

We were looking for the best pizza in Grand Rapids. JB's was just kinda of average.
