Jeni's are popping up all over city and I finally broke down and made a visit! I stopped by this location, which opened in 2019, located on Paces Ferry, in the Buckhead Market Place, which is also home to the Whole Foods and Velvet Taco.
As you would imagine, parking in Buckhead can easily be a nightmare, but this location has plenty of free parking in the lot itself or in the underground lots. The only thing to be cautious of is Whole Foods has a lot of reserved spots, so be mindful!
As most Jeni's locations, you should expect a wait most times. However they are pretty efficient to get you in and out while keeping you happy! The hold up usually comes from folks sampling, which I would highly recommend before committing. However, given today's Covid precautions, they are not allowing samples, so the lines move A LOT quicker...so, yay for the reduction in time it takes to get your scoop(s), but boo for no sampling. But I support it, #safetyfirst!
Given I was not able to sample on this visit, I ended up with a flavor that is surefire and couldn't be a miss, the Salted Peanut Butter with Chocolate Flecks. I opted for just one scoop in a bowl, which ran me around $5.50 after all was said and done. The ice cream was smooth, flavorful and absolutely tasty! I did cringe spending that much for one scoop, so I will say that Jeni's is on the pricier side of things, but the quality does seem to qualify for the higher prices...still stings a little.
If you are not one for regular ice cream, they do offer a variety of dairy free options including sorbets. I have yet to try any of these, but have heard they are just as tasty as the ice cream staples of the regular variety.
Overall, Jeni's is a splendid place to go (see what I did there!?) and get a scoop or two of ice cream. This particular location allows you to grab a scoop and hit the streets of Buckhead, which is pretty sweet. I did enjoy my scoop and when the craving hits, Jeni's will be on the radar!
